Emily Wren needed out of the house. Her brother was home (Blasting Metallica), her cousins were ALL home (Because Teacher Inservice Days evidently sucked), and the only one home to rein them all in was her Aunt (who had seized the Kitchen, forcing Emily from her safe haven of making cakes). Before she and her brother could get into a skirmish, in the end, Emily fled for the safety of outside, Daddy not home to protest, her cat hiding from the noise, and rocky was 'singing' with her sibling. The park was a nice place anyhow, Emily sitting with a small picnic basket of scones, hot soup, bacon, and some cucumber sandwiches and fries (Hey, she was hungry). Emily pulled a blanket out carefully, unfolding it and laying it out to sit on before laying lunch out, appreciating dessert, and she clapped. ?Food. Delicious, glorious food and no loud relatives to fight her for it!

If Emily had been one to notice such things she would have heard the distinct lack of bird calls around the park grounds, the usual rustling of leaves as they fluttered to and fro and of course their inevitable pecking at the ground for worms.
Maybe because someone had already eaten them all.
Lyssa fitted slightly as she torn one end of a worm from the other, its head (depending on how you looked at it) was held tightly in her mouth while the other bit was clutched beneath her sodden paw her sudden spasm making her drop both things instantly as she gained slow control over her movements. While others may pity the kitten for having these attacks Lyssa paid them no heed, sometimes it felt good when she stretched out without trying, her yoga moves didn’t always reach the places on her underbelly and these little spasms were a great way to shake out all the hidden nutrients she keep there but alas that is another story.
Looking to the side she saw the destruction of about 10 or 20 worms, each one either lying very still or trying very slowly to make their escape. The birds had long ago stopped to watch her, all making little sound as if doing so would interrupt this strange cats ritualistic culling…that or they were working out when to attack. Lyssa couldn’t decide which way the birds would go either although her panic was put mildy at ease as she spotted a top hat or two amongst the crowds. Visiting bird nobility was always a good sign in the feather kingdom, it meant the lower classes would be trying to impress & build relations - not to been seen as barbaric by attacking her! She smiled to herself a little smugly; although Lyssa had gotten out of bird politics years ago she was still savvy enough to see a game of minds being played out before her and she nodded at one black eyed sparrow sporting a very daring purple and green hat. It nodded back with an air of indignity before taking off into flight Lyssa’s sharp eyes following it into the sky and directly above the sitting girl, her brown hair glistening in the sun as her interest was caught anew.
“OH My JiMMy ReAL FOoD!” Dropping everything, including any more worms, Lyssa pelted across the field, her eye sight set on the food being pulled out of the basket as her back legs started wiggling in excitement an uncontrollable spasm hitting as she went crashing into the girls legs head first.

Emily had just about finished setting things out when she heard a voice. Now this was not uncommon, except that it belonged to something peculiar - nobody was terribly close when Emily had come, nobody paid her mind, and she hadn't even seen the bright red Destroyer of the Worm Kingdom until she'd all but barreled into her legs. Emily's first thought was to stop, look down, and blink at the apparently talking kitty with wide eyes, before - hesitantly - picking her up to look for a collar. "Holy s**t." Emily was ever so charming today. "Did someone rig a cat with some weird voice device or something. You poor baby!" And against all better judgement, she assumed the best. Lyssa was cuddled by one overly-lovey human. Well, she didn't look like a rabid cat anyhow. "Aww, you poor precious baby..." She would learn.

Lyssa was never one to turn down a hug especially not from a complete stranger! They were usually the best, extra hard with often wonderful smells to accompany them, except this one smelled only of nice clean things. Usually the type of smells that covered her hug-hungry attackers where the type you could only find in the deepest darkest bit of a wheely bin but she decide to forgive this girl, if anything she would rub off a little on her and soon have her smelling lovely!
But the stranger was obvious special, special like her, in the head. That’s how Ate had explained it to her once in a fit of rage that sent sparks and moonbeams flying out of her eyes. She was special, this girl was too – it was the only answer she could fathom as she spoke of voice devices and riggings and not the very obvious sharing of food which she had come for. So as the cuddle continued, silent farts escaping from the kitten as it happened, Lyssa gentle tapped the side of the girls face with an out stretched paw although really it was more punching than tapping as Lyssa rarely had control over her extremities to control speed and strength. Yet she was still only a cat and the effect would have been minuscule if at all noticed. Not until she was staring up at her face with beady eyes, her iris large and unyielding as if she kept within them a thousand years of dreams and promises all kept secret waiting to be told, she inhaled and spoke aloud.

Emily blinked, and stopped looking to give the kitten some scratches, examining her picnic. "Well, lets see." Emily didn't care about smelling weird - Cookie and rocky would sniff her over, sure, but her animals were a very friendly pair themselves, and she never turned down a friendly animal herself. "I might have a corn dog somewhere. I know I've got sushi." The girl mused a bit, scratching her head. "Bit of bacon... Fruit salad, a bit of cake... Here we go." Emily pulled the corn dog out calmly, putting it down and applying a squeeze pack of Mayo to it. "That good?" She still wondered how the kitten spoke, though. It was... Odd.

Lyssa couldn’t believe her luck as the girl brought out just what she had asked for from her magical food transporter! Usually people screamed, ran or punched her and not always in that order, but here was someone who had actually listened and brought her the food she so desired. She felt the bubbly tears starting to gather. “For Me? YoU..you gOt it FoR me!? DiD I get The JinglE Right? I cAn pass And collEct $200 dOllarS now YeS? Ta, ta, Ta, tA, Ta.” She ran over to where the corndog lay her small mouth making quick work of the snack as she licked the mayo almost sliding her face across it to get every last bit. Lyssa was not a big cat at all and this was made worse with her skinny undernourished body. If you stroked her you would feel ribs but the kitten didn’t seem to mind. She forgot to eat most of the time and if she was able too she would give up her food to others as a gift. She ate little and often but when something like this came along even her addled brain allowed her to concentrate for 5 minutes to eat and it hardly took that time before she was licking her lips. A deep purr erupted as if from her very soul, her eyes developing a hazy look as she licked her arm and chest in content before flipping over in a joy educed spasm attack.
“ThaNkiNg You CoRn dog gIver. MaY your ToaStEr never gain illUsions of unexpLAined GranDeur.” Rolling over she began licking the nearest hand she found, her slick tongue making fingers wet and palms soggy as she portrayed her thanks in the only way she could. By being complexly gross.
“I wish- *licklick* - yOu A FabLE - *lick* - teLl me DoeS ShE - *slurp* - SpEaK to YOU too?” Lyssa forgot that most people, most sane normal and ordinary people had no idea what was generally going on behind the scenes let alone know what she was blabbing on about yet it didn’t seem to stop her from asking everyone including lampposts.

If Emily needed any further proof the kitten was abused, the ribs were it, and the girl stroked her fur, scratching and smiling and looking for a means to offer more food. The poor baby! "No, I haven't spoken to any... Fables?" She shrugged. "I've never heard of them. I'm usually at home. Where did you come from, sweetie?" The girl continued to stroke, not minding the licking and grooming. She had a cat at home, and a big puppy, plus her brother's wolf-dog. Gross was not unexpected from animals. "Here, let's get you some more food. I don't mind sharing."

Lyssa was getting use to people not knowing where her family was and so the pain she felt when Emily dismissed it was lessening by the day. Sometimes she thought, in the more clarity filled moments, that she had imagined the whole team up. Yet when she saw Ate she felt...incomplete, like their where shadows that fell around her yet no one stood there. Her Fables were out there somewhere, each one complimenting the other and right now Ate needed that support for without it she was lost. So no matter how much pain it brought to hear the word now she would continue this life asking everyone, just hoping one day someone would say yes.
"OH...Ok...I KeEp serChing Yes?" She continued to lick the hand but was moving slowly up to her wrist, little snail like marks of sliver traveling up her skin. The purrs continued as Lyssa enjoyed grooming others, she was usually shoved away with first contact but this girl seemed to be enjoying it just as much.
She just had to clean that face of her's too.
"I am LySSa, LeE-ee-Sa, LyssA. WhAt Is Your BRanD?" She briefly stopped to allow Emily to gather more food, her paws tapping at a sushi roll before wolfing it down. The licking continued again in earnest, now working on her sleeve and leaving the wet skin behind.
"YoU Are Not..friGhtenD, YoU arE GiftED yes? Yes, YeS, Yess."

"That would be good. Hey, maybe I could help, if I know what your looking for." Emily smiled. Sweet, precious, hurt kitten. Emily didn't often part with her sushi but for a kitten, oh yes she would. "My name is Emily. It's nice to meet you, Lyssa." She smiled, continuing to pet and nibbling a spicy tuna roll thoughtfully. "I don't think I'm gifted. I mean, I'm pretty normal. Wake up, breakfast, college, homework, normal stuff. I work a lot at homework though." Emily shrugged. She was... So very clueless, but trying.

Lyssa nodded slowly absorbing the information Emily spoke off as she moved further up her arm, her little claws kneading into the fabric on her shoulder as she leaned in close to sniff at the tuna roll Emily was trying to eat. If she could just hypnotized the sushi into flying into her own mouth, all would be well in the world. Sadly though it disappeared behind white teeth and Lyssa’s paws were too slow to try and chase it down her throat. Plus the last time she had tried to get down someones mouth into their juicy gullet she had been locked in a box for 3 days before Ate had found her….and then locked her back in there. It had been a good time.
“OnE doEs Not nEED to pERfORM like A DAncIng Monkey tO be GifTed ChIlD– UnlEss its BeN, He has Mad Skills.” She had continued leaning in towards Emily face, only stopping mere millimeters away so that her whiskers would tickle and her fur would brush against skin.
And very slow.
She licked the inside of Emily's nose.

Emily blinked, thinking on it s she picked up a tuna roll to offer Lyssa when... The cat licked the inside of her nose. Emily blinked, sneezing from the mnotion before she offered the sushi with a bewildered expression. "I guess? If you say so? Maybe?" This was confusing. Although, she had no idea the kitten was in fact mad. A little, anyhow.

Still staring at the girl Lyssa leaned over slightly taking the sushi in the side of her mouth, chewing it slowly as she gawked with wide green eyes. She realized at that moment (something that didn’t happen very often to the kitten) that what she had said, what she was, was too much for the girl to take in. She wasn’t ready yet, she wasn’t even ready to be ready! And Lyssa had quite possibly done something very bad by revealing herself to her so soon. Not that anything was even bad in Lyssa’s books, everything was to be experienced, the bad the good, all was a part of the ever encompassing serpent who encircled the world and demanded Cheese puffs from her. Yet she could tell, something inside her could tell, that it was too soon Jumping down she did the only thing she could think of doing right now and meowed long and loud, as if doing so would reassure the girl that she was just a fluffy kitten. That the sushi was rotten and she was hallucinating from the toxic fumes, and that birds did not sing the Macarena every time she spoke as they seemed to be doing right now!!
“MEEEOOO-MACARENA-OOOOOW!!......MeOw!” There. Now the girl would be reassured she wasn’t completely insane and a thousand year war wasn’t raging on all around her. Lyssa felt proud, she had done good. She done good. Patting her paw on Emily’s knee she nodded in what she thought was a cat like way, which sadly evolved her whipping her head from side to side until she was finished. But it was Lyssa’s way of saying thank you. Thank you for the food, thank you for listening and thank you for the extra food she had found inside her nose. It was that extra special gift that left Lyssa feeling all warm and bubbly inside. Without a further noise Lyssa turned her back on the girl, stalking away in a quick jog as she moved off to the safety of the trees and probably a good bollocking from Ate for talking to strangers again. She would remember Emily though and hope they would meet again, very soon.NovaCracker I am setting you free from this RP, thank you so much for being so patient! You are wonderful <3

Matisha I had a blast! Thank you for the RP! ...Well, it didn't alleviate Emily's confusion, but Lyssa was sweet, and Emily didn't fault her for being afraid to talk more (she presumed it was fear anyhow). She rubbed behind Lyssa's ear, letting the kitten feel soothed as she wondered if the small animal was going to be alright. Yes, she decided, she needed to keep her eyes peeled and try leaving treats for the kitten later. For now, she'd finish eating and see if the Internet knew anything upon getting home.
