Palace

Hidden in the north, among the towering dark heights and snow capped peaks, lies a hidden palace. Nestled in the mountain side, its back protected by a glacial wall just as tall as the tallest tower. Sturdy walls and spanning halls settled in this wintery land, are filled with warm built into every brick from the ground up. Once a gem among the snowy plans. this place darkened and deteriorated over the decades under miss-care of the ruler that gradually went mad.

Over the decades and hundreds of years later the palace of Night Glacial still stands however rundown. Legend tells of hauntings happening and strange deaths of weary travelers taking shelter there experiencing cruel demises or running from the darkened halls mad and screaming nonsense. Locals living in the nearby villages go no where near it even when seeing figures in the lit windows they do not go anywhere near. Darkness and death hangs over the palace, stories telling the rein of the ruler in charge of it's mighty halls going so mad that slaying the residence within was the last command. And there is only more frightening darkness and presence of death lurking in its halls now with the residence that live within

This is Dorian and Zoltan's hidden but not so hidden lair, where they rest and stay between missions. When they are not out traveling and lurking about the lands bring darkness and planning to rule Non-Magic Earth, they are plotting here in the comfort of their home.

Tumbling through the darkness, not knowing which way up or which way was down, he only knew where forward was. Where he was going was a destination he knew well. The haunted and cursed, yet beloved book clutched to his chest, and Zoltan's demise on his mind, Dorian found himself at last hitting the floor of the main hall of Night Glacial Palace.

Hitting the warm darkened and dusty floor, he let out a sharp groan, only it became a strangled cry of anguish and fury at the realization his master was gone. Nothing but his book and his magic he had taught Dorian remaining, and that of his goal as well. The young apprentice wasn't sure how long he lay there in emotional and physical disarray, but gradually while laying there he came up with a plan and a means to fix things.

It all started with reading he Demonaria.

Zoltan had warned him that the first chapter, the introduction to the knowledge and the darkness within the books pages would bring about nightmares and unrelenting haunting of his mind. Dorian having been ready for some time, read its beginning pages.

12 days and 12 nights proceeded filled with his screams and out-cires, echoing over the icy barren land beyond the palace walls.

When he rose from the darkness and nightmarish hell Dorian came from it a different man, that is if people would consider him a man, for he was something else entirely. Though not as different as his Master, who had no human left in him, Dorian still had some, however he was more monster then man then he was 12 days ago. And on top of that, he had a plan, a means to an end to bring back his beloved Master and leader.

Souls scattered about time and space, centered around and near the marks laid down on the land. Staring with the right here, where it started it all.

"I'll raise him once more...and they all will regret the day they faced us, till their last slow dying breath because I won't make their deaths a quick and painless one..."

Looking at the heavy book, bound in leather and stained with blood, Dorian had no doubt he would succeed; he wouldn't allow himself to fail.

"I'm coming Master Zoltan...and we'll bring the darkness to these lands at last."

"... No one can stop Death..."

Fallen Angel

One would suspect that reading a book would be a simple task, that 12 days would be a short time, perhaps, for some reads. Dorian's first days and night of torment and suffering though was lucky to have be heard by anyone in these cold and wretched wastes of Bloodholme, not even the heat of the destroyed Hell's Gate reaches these depths of despair. When he raised, he was not alone. For in his mental agony and sadistic learning he had a watcher, and observer from another realm whom was very eager to get involved. The mention of the Darkness, though... it stirred the room. The dark corners of the stony halls, the misty floors where the candle's dont quite reach, the dark depths at the end of corridors that threatened with the unknown beckoned. At the end of one corridor to be exact, came a deathly chill.

Silence fell.

Then came a quite metallic sound, like a metal edge scraping against another, it was slow, it was fluent. Then from the far corridor the dim light lit up a dull mask, shortly followed by a long draping robe where the body within was hard to distinguish between bone or metal plates. By it's chest were crossed arms holding up two sickles covered in dark etchings. the mist along the floor crawled towards Dorian as an echoic, dull and low toned voice said " ...The Darkness already calls...". The Fallen Angel had returned once more, for the 3rd time it had appeared on Magic Earth, but under whom's control this time? When the swooping angel had fianlly reached the main room it gave space for its dull purple, tentacle-like wings to materialise from thickening mist.

He stood in the middle of the grand hall, emplems and graphics of ancient runes in a language not known to Magic Earth drawn across the floor and walls. The candles and torches that burned cast a glowing orange light through the hall however, never fully reach the corners and the edges of the room casting them in shadow. Dorian stood upon an emblem he had chalked across the flagstone floor and the Demonaria in his hands.

The apprentice was finishing his last bit of magic to search out the pieces of his master scattered about time and space. Which included casting his pendulum into the dark magic in order to search for Zoltan. With this he had no way of failing.

Dorian though deep in his thoughts as the magic faded, something else replaced it. Even distracted he could sense it the sudden chilling presence in the grand hall. With a flick of his grey gaze he saw how the shadow's edges seem to quicker. Then the scrapping of medal against stone came, and Dorian glanced over his shoulder in the direction it came from.

Too much of his surprise he never expected to see the Fallen Angel again.

"Well well..." he droned shutting the heavy large book with a snap. As the sound echoed off the walls the book itself vanished in a whiff of darkness itself. "Darkness calls...so what do I owe the pleasure? Last time I saw you, you were being summoned unwillingly, what brings you here off all places and in presence of me...the apprentice of the master that summoned you."

Turning on his heels, the scrape of them against the flagstone was heard as Dorian took in the creature and its odd wings. This creature was the purest darkness that could be know, a perfect opposite to the light that the Gypsy woman possessed.

"... No one can stop Death..."

Fallen Angel

Dorian came with a pleasing presence, he had that enigma surrounding him that even sometimes surpassed Zoltan. Dorian was the type of guy that was confident when he needed to be, though lost he was determined, a desirable attribute of the Conclave of Declasia one might think. Amidst his meditating the fallen angle had interrupted.

When the angel had finished hovering forwards towards Dorian, as if he glided on the softest of ice, he lowered his black sickles as his hovering body came to a stop. This angel had no legs, and isntead he was followed by a slowly flowing mass of faint mist. Dorian mentioned how last time the angel had been summoned under the enslavement by Zoltan Maues, and he certainly seemed surprised that the angel had appeared to the apprentice of such a despicable man.

The angel's masked face and hood eerily tilted to one side by such a small fraction it left one wandering if they were seeing things or not. "... unlike many in this world... we remember." the angel began, referring tot he events of Zoltan's fall, and how anyone but those who were directly involved forgot everything. "...and though you had me enslaved... I have an offer. " from the air between his shoulders materialised a small black, but semi-transparent crystal that hovering, slowly turning in place.

The angel floated across the flagstone as it came closer. Though an average man in his right mind would have fled, Dorian was no average man. Neither was he quiet a man any more, but neither was he worried. No this creature wasn't here to kill him...if he had it wouldn't have made an entrance like this.

Dorian had learned how to read man, the people around him in order to manipulate them. A teaching he had learned from Zoltan but here it didn't work. With the angel masked and his stature never wavering from straight and sure, he had no way to do so. It both puzzled and irritated Dorian however, his curiosity on why the creature was here out weighted it all.

At the mention of remember, a simple quick narrowing of his eyes was Dorian's reaction to the words. The offering however blew it away and Dorian stared openly at the crystal hovering over the angel's head.

"I see what you offer Fallen One, but I don't know what it is...if you want to make an offer I have to hear the proposal," he said simply with a wave a hand in an open gesture of the Angel coming closer and Dorian willing to listen.

Fallen Angel

So it seemed the angel had Dorian's curiosity at least, the gesturing hand serving as a means to invite the angel's plans. The angels voice sounded so ethereal, and with his proposal, his gauntleted, almost claw-like hand carefully nudged the floating black crystal down from above him and towards Dorian's chest. "... I offer you a Soulstone... it gathers souls... or parts of one..." said the fallen angel. That was his offer, he was brining Dorian a soulstone to aide him in gathering Zoltan's soul together.

".... With it you can make Zoltan's soul stronger than before, feed him souls of others and let his soul overwhelm them. This is my offer from the Underworld." his hood then seemed to tilt again, awaiting a reply. So far the angel had not said why he wanted to do this, but this was of coarse all part of his own plan. ((this next bit is going to be implimented when i re-write the lore of Underworld/Hell)). For anyone from the Underworld must share some sort of trait with Lucifial, the Greater Demon of Betrayal.

Never stepping back from the crystal that the angel brought his way, Dorian however was weary with good reason. But as the creature explained the Soulstone and the powers it would bring Zoltan once awakened and part of Magic Earth once more, well it was an offer hard to resist. Dorian did however...for a little bit.

"An intriguing offer, but you haven't explained why you want this to happen or what I have to give in return. I can't believe that you would give this to me free and without some sort of reimbursement."

Crossing his arms though admiring the gem, Dorian did not reach to take it, though it was very hard to resist. "What do you want of me?"

"... No one can stop Death..."

Fallen Angel

And now the boy was asking why, all of a sudden, the Fallen Angel was being questioned. ... Death has only one limit... Death cannot walk the realm of the living without cause, but Zoltan empowered can enable us that wish...." was his answer. He wanted Zoltan to be more powerful... to eb able to summon the Underworld again, but this time, let them roam freely without having to cause a supernatural storm, without having to lay marks....

... and dare the Angel think it, but without being enslaved by blood. Then the angel floating passed the boy, falling deeper into the darker parts of the room and taking the soulstone with him, the inside of the black shard giving off a very slight, reddish, orange glow. "No one..." he then said, turning back around, his mask coming to face Dorian again as his arms hung by his sides, sickles ready at any moment to behead and absorb the souls of the living. "... should deny an offer by Lucifial...".

That name would strike fear in most of the living. That name was a cursed one which has not been spoke of since the time of the Burning Invasion all those centuries ago in pre-history. Lucifial was the Great Demon of Betrayal, the lord of the Underworld, brother of Dantézan and En'radial that reside within the core of Hell, forever serving their master, Valial, the Great Evil. The fallen angel came, and this Soulstone was not from himself, no, it was an object of hellish creation, but more importantly the from the hellish realm of the Underworld, ruled by the shadows of Lucifial. This, would have been somewhat an honour for Zoltan.

The reasoning he received was one that was reasonable and understandable, however still slightly confusing as well. Nothing was really known about 'death' as if it was an actual entity, but rather as a end result of something living having to an end to its life. What the Angel was proposing was an offer most great and interesting.

Lifting a hand to his chin, Dorian thought it over as the Angel came and walked past him. Being that close drove a chill down the young man's spine though he never showed it. He was weary as any smart man would, however, he was no coward either. Eyeing the gem above him, his eyes snapped to the figure however as the name 'Lucifial' was uttered.

Wide-eyed in surprise, everything was coming into place before him. "I see now..." he droned with a gleeful dark smirk on his face. "What an offer indeed...."

Turning on his heel to face the Fallen Angel and Demon of Betrayal as only 'his' presence would feel this heavy and dark. "You are suggesting a form of alliance, by helping us, we help you come to this land and remain so. Consorting together to rule this land...."

Thinking it over, Dorian started into the black holes that were Lucifial's eyes. "I know myself I can't pass on such an opportunity, and I know neither would my Master." Stepping forward with one foot, Dorian bowed slightly with a hand over his only slightly human heart. "Your offer is greatly accepted."

Fallen Angel

And without further ado, the young male, the disciple of Zoltan Maues was beginning to understand exactly what kind of agreement he was making. Whilst he thought the smirk of glee on his face made the angel believe he had the male in the palm of his hands. The shadowy figures hood then tilted as if to agree with Dorian with what he said. ".... you're wise...." the fallen angel replied.

Seeing the male bow before him gave him a sense of renewed 'hope'. Though the fallen angel did hate to think such an aspect existed. Old, rotten memories of the burning invasion filling his mind of the other ... High Angels. Dictators, creators you could say, but they watch with intention for destroying humanity if they get out of hand... like becoming slaves to Hell.

The angel then floated past and his echoic voice muttered ".... Death... is waiting for you to deliver...." as he merged with the pitch black shadows, and like the air had become slightly warmer the angel was gone, his long, purple wings slipping into the fade.

Playing games and joining forces with Lucifer was sure to be an interesting thing. Dorian was no fool to think that the Angel's motives were just what he offered and presented. Just as his motives for accepting weren't all they appeared to be. Both forces had their reasons and both would benefit, just a matter of which one more so and how long they could play the game.

"And we shall..." he droned just as the Angel was disappearing into the darkness the last wisps of the purple wings disappearing from the icy poorly lit hall. "...and we look forward to your own devilry."

Gem now in his grasp, Dorian looked to the gem in in his ownership. Not wanting to waste any time, he sought out the mark that had started it all. Going about the ritual he initially found to dive into time and space and draw out the portion of his master that was scattered about the marks on Magic Earth. An impressive fit of power and magic, the ritual was a magnificence to the dark apprentice however, anyone watching would have been driven mad or received nightmares for the rest of their days.

"I'm coming Master..." he murmured clutching the gem in his grasp before exposing it to the mark and letting do its job.

When the portal came to fruition, Zoltan honestly welcomed it, he coudln't wait to be back in the palace. Though it felt like not even a day had passed since he'd been here... he was certainly feeling the toll. He kept thinking how small he felt right now, how unable he was to act. But he dared any mortal to wait a day and he would be becking life itself with each step he takes. Stepping through the little light around them was engulfed, and they were in dark halls with dim candles lit up. He could almost feel the air pressure around him change, the air was somewhat colder too, but he and Dorian were both immune to that now. The northern most tip of Bloodholme, a hell heated continent, where the only ice was present.

As for Dorian's remark on Belial, it dawned on him too. Zoltan should ahve guessed that, he almost wanted to curse himself for not thinking of it. Zoltan did however blame the resurrection process for his dumbness. Coming to a silence briefly he didn't say anything until Dorian's next comment on recovering. "I'll go to my chambers, Dorian. Don't contact me until i return to the halls, then we can discuss our plan of action...". With that being said, Zoltan Maues let go of his apprentice and raised his hand to magically open the double doors to the outer corridors. They creaked open like they were in a haunted mansion.

The master of this palace finally within the halls, the whole place seemed to come alive with the eerie horrors and shadows that dwelled within. Though dark enough already, and even with Dorian's presence alone, the darkness stirred, but nothing like it when Zoltan arrived.

Silence hung heavy and thoughtful, releasing Zoltan from his grasp, the apprentice waited for his next instructions, glad to have some at last. With the his master home, he could relax some more, and bid to not disturb him, Dorian bowed at the waist watching as he left.

"Of course Master, till then."

With that, Zoltan was walking off with the icy dark palace creaking like it was an old rickety mansion. Though others may have found it eerie, Dorian found it welcoming. His efforts bring with it success, he headed to his own chambers, though still not human, neither was he completely not; the winged creature still needed plenty of rest.

The next day, the world moved slowly for Zoltan Maues. The morning air was chilling and the mist brushed through along the floor. Breathing in he felt the cold air enter his abused lungs, it made him remember just how dead he really once inside. He breathed out, even though he never needed to, and his breath was like a dragon's sigh of hot steam. The halls were quiet and lonesome, Zoltan stood perfectly still in the middle of the biggest room of the palace and had his arms crossed. His eyes were closed and cut-off what little light there was, he had all the windows boarded up and candles lit in the far recesses of the room. He was thinking deeply about the world, about how his life had come to be like this and why he wanted Non-Magic Earth so much. Like a statue he stood amongst the mist on the floor, below it the dark marble stone acting like a black mirror-like pool. And almost like the world around him was moving further away from him as he continued to think. He remembered. ... Everybody wants to rule the world... he thought. But no one could accomplish that.

He wore his usual attire again, all was the same, he even still wore the black cross below his neck within the V of his unbuttoned shirt. The lower edges of his shirt were far longer than any traditional one, it almost acted like a robe or coat. Flexing his fingers grip around his biceps his black gloves rubbed against the fabric. He envisioned himself as a child, his younger brother, Micha'el running through the fields and enjoying life. Zoltan was standing amongst the shadows in the nearby trees, coaxing, whispering to the snakes and crows. Then everything swirled into the recent past, when he turned corrupt, against his family and Merlin Academy. Micha'el Maues... the pretty boy son, ashamed, upset. His mother, a fair lady with lush brown hair and round brown eyes, embarrassed, depressed and resentful. He shook his head with his eyes shut and was happy to forget that. Then he saw himself and Dorian standing amongst a cliff, the sky was black and grey with clouds, they spiralled as dark tendrils shot down to the earth, great buildings like Big Ben of London, the Whitehouse of Washington, St Basil's Cathedral, Pisa, the Taj Mahal - they were all succumbing to the darkness that Zoltan and Dorian fought to bring.

The end of days.
