Livi Yawned and stretched. The sun was warm. It relaxed her muscles and made her sleepy. She blinked for a few seconds thinking of napping. The woods she had recently wandered into seemed like a perfect place for a nap really. light streaming threw green trees a light earthy smell in the air with just a hint of flowers. A warm breath to calm her. It was quiet except for a few birds singing to each other. It really was perfect for a nap. so she lowered herself on to the plush green grass lowered her head onto her arm.
But when she closed her eyes she didn't fall asleep like she wanted. Instead her mind started to think about the different things she obsevered today. Like a butterfly that she saw in an entirely different part of the land towards summer but had never seen in the part till now. Or a caterpillar wrapping itself in the very stuff she's seen butterflies emerge from. Or how she saw a flower bend itself out from under a rock to seemingly get more sun. She saw so much and understands so little. It's hard to sleep even in such lulling woods. But she keeps her eyes closed as she meditates on what she saw to see if she can learn and understand from it. The land is so vast and mysterious that unraveling just one mystery can hold her interest for days.

He was walking through the forest once again, his mind far from the worries that had plagued him for so long this winter. They'd been laid to rest, and he was starting to grow accustomed to his new lot in life. It was as he walked in thought that he managed to walk on by where some one had entered, pausing he backed up to see if he'd mistaken the visitor.
The mare was sleeping.. or so it looked to him. Carefully, he side stepped, not wanting to awaken her. It was when his front hoof landed on a twig that snapped under his weight that he paused. He froze all blue and yellow clashing against his surroundings and looking very much like a deer caught in a trap.

*SNAP* Livi opens her eyes. Someone stepping on a twig shattered her meditation and she was now back in the woods rather than the high mountains she had been thinking about. She looked around to see who it was and saw a stallion frozen. His hoof standing on a very broken twig. It took her a few seconds to process what she was seeing. His coat so matched her mothers in color it confused her drowsy mind.
She blinked a few times to take in all of what she was seeing. Once she got over the initial confusion of course. The stallion appeared to have feathers for a mane. And his back hooves were more like claws then hooves. She was shocked. She had never seen anyone like him. Or even heard of soquili that head feathers for manes and claws! Well she's heard SOME things but just whispers and rumors. Nothing concrete or real. but here was someone so unique. She was awe struck for awhile. I'm sure if someone walked in on them just staring it'd be a hilarious sight.
Finally after to long of a pause she spoke. Not in her normal flood of questions, she was still tired after all, no just a possibly very rude question that she was dying to know. "What are you? are you a-?" She paused trying to remember the word she passed of as myth or lies "A Hypogryph?" She didn't think he was because they were rumored to have wings while he was only feathered. But she didn't believe any of the rumors till just now anyway. This could be what they really looked like with out the word of mouth twisting the description.lysia_nyteblade Don't know if quoting is cool with you. if not I'll PM next time.

Moon_Princess_Yuki Quoting's a good way to let me know there's a tag. He'd been expecting just about any sort of reply than the one he'd gotten. Screaming.. terror.. even down right anger. But he hadn't expected the mare to question him. "Hypogryph..." He rolled the word around in a pondering tone. He'd heard of them. They were said to be something akin to the mares of his kind.. weren't they? Large yellow orbs peered at her as he tried to think of the best way he knew to answer. "Harpy. Though I've heard the sisterhood is something akin to these.. Hypogryphs. We just don't have beaks." Blinking his eyes, he looked around the area. "I didn't mean to disturb you in your... nap. I was only on a walk so if you'd rather get back to your rest I won't bother you any." He wasn't trying to make a fast dash for it. But he knew some mares could be quite grouchy when woken up by strangers.

Harpy. Harpy, harpy, HarPy. She twisted and turned the word in her mind trying to remember if she heard it before. She might have as a whisper interchangeable with other myths. But she didn't know. And this new knowledge brightened her day, her week, maybe even her month. Her eyes widened and bright with a new excitement a childlike grin spreading on her face. New Knowledge! She always loved new knowledge. She started to mumble to her self as she catalouged the facts he just gave her in hhr head, "Hypogryphs are real, they have beaks not normal mouths, their real. they're closly related to the harpy. Harpys are a thing. He used sister hood when referring to harpies..." She looked him straight in the eyes taking in the yellow for only a second before her curiosity got the better of her again. "You said sisterhood right? That means your implying that harpies are all girls yet you are a male. How do you explain that? ARe most harpies girls and few are born male? Are you rare for your kind? Or do you just mean that they are a society run by females. I think someone referred to that as um a matriarchy? Are Harpies a matriarchy? I've never acutely seen a matriarchy before my self only heard of them. Is there a herd of Harpies near here? could you take me to them? Id love to watch them. I mean if you can't I fully understand don't worry. I'd just love to know more about them as a group. I didn't even know they existed till now so I'd love to know more." HEr eyes shinned expectantly at him. At some point in their interactions she had stood back up, and forgotten that he had asked if she wanted to go back to sleep. Sleep was irrelevant in the wake of knew knowledge.

Moon_Princess_Yuki sorry for the delayedness. He watched her closely, eyeing her as she seemed to ramble to herself. Blinking, he tilted his head off to the side. "Matriarch would be the correct term..." He paused as he heard her last question. "No." Terror filled his face. Return? It was a death sentence for both he and whom ever he brought with him. "Do not seek them out.. Your life would be forfeit should you not heed my warnings." His jaw had set in a stern line, one seldom seen. He'd always been so submissive, easy going. Yet here he was.. stern and bold, telling not asking this mare not to go searching for his kind.

lysia_nyteblade Nah always take your time. I'm really seriously only poking you to get into habit. Livi frowned and was about to re ask the questions Tharsirion had just skipped in favor of the matriarch question. She wanted to know them and maybe he only skipped those questions cause she said them to fast? But then he gave her a warning not to seek out the harpy land. "Why? are they dangerous? Will they kill me? Is that why you don't live with them now? Because they would kill you? But your one of them so that can't be right. Or is it?" She said these questions slower trying to articulate each word more, to try and get him to actually answer these instead of just passing over them.

Dangerous she asked? They were.. and yet they weren't.. it was a double edged claw the family group that had raised him was. "They like their privacy... While they have taken outside members.. to turn your back on them and leave is something not to do lightly. To abandon the flock.. could mean dire consequences.. I left for complicated reasons.. But I assure you.. should you go looking.. Never mention to them that you know of me.. it would be a mistake that could cost you much.." He didn't want her own curiosity to be the end of her but she had to know what a dangerous game she was setting for herself looking for those of his kind. "Safer to look for the hippogryphs. I hear their ways are less.. strict than those of my kind." His eyelids flicked closed for a moment, blinking the yellow vast orbs into hiding for only a moment. "Heed my words.. let the harpies be."

Livi frowned and stared at nothing and thought. She weighed her options the best she could. Meeting a new group of people and understanding their way would be boundless fun and sure to be exciting. But if what he says is true and she would be caught and not let go, that would prevent her from learning so much more, she'd never meet a hippogryph, or know of any other land. So she frowned more. She really wanted to know more about them though. Then she looked at Tharsirion and her face brightened right up. "If I can't see them first hand could you tell me about them? You lived there, you know them, you could tell me. I'd really love it if you could talk about them to me." She grinned ear to ear and stared at him expectantly, hoping he'd be open and talk about his people with her.

"I lived with them, yes." He thought f how to satisfy her curiosity without sending her into any harm's way. It wasn't that ALL of them were horrible.. he just didn't want her to be hurt over her own curiosity. "I was raised by the flock.. er herd's nannies. Through them I learned the ways of my people. Males are apart of their community, though they have a lesser status than the females.. We are protected some of us captured trophies from the wanderings of the mares of our tribe. My father was one of these such. " He paused for a moment. "I know you must be wondering.. if my life was so... easy and laid back.. they why did I leave? Simply put.. my life was in danger.. and my father didn't trust the mares to keep me safe.. for what ever reason.. He thought it was better that I leave with him. Of course I argued.. but in the end.. we left.."

Livi listened with rapt attention. Learning new things were great. She was a little confused about way he started to call the the Flock the changed to calling the group a herd. Maybe he didn't want her to think that they had more of a bird mentality then a soquili one. Or maybe he just didn't think she'd know what he meant by flock. That didn't really matter though the rest of his tail was very interesting and she understood why he'd want her to stay away, it either mean giving up her freedom or life. She was happy enough keeping both. "What part did you play in your herd? Were you just kept to be looked at or eaten? Don't herds normally have a job system where everyone must do something to help the herd? Was your father one of those that was captured? Were they going t eat you because you are a boy? If you were a girl would you have been accepted into the flock at a higher rank then you were? Or does your lineage determine your rank regardless of gender? If you went back at this point would you be killed? Would they take the fact that you ran for your life into account before punishing you?" She asked not noticing weather her questions were rude or intrusive.

Moon_Princess_Yuki so you can read up and i don't have to type it all lol here's the link to the flock's guild it has all the lore posted in it by mind I believe He had a feeling that she didn't understand, not fully.. It was made more solid by her following questions. Letting out a small breath he shook his head gently. "Cannibalism is frowned upon among my kind.. In our flock it is considered taboo to eat a fellow member. Males are well... We are protected by the females.. We lead rather cushy lives and little is expected of us.. Unless we grow bored and decide we want to use our given talents for something.. well, we just aren't forced to do anything we don't want."
He thought how to continue. It was difficult to explain to others just what it meant to be a harpy. "Females do everything..think of our society as.. more of a role reversed version or your own." His time among the outsiders had given him a better idea of their differences. Hanyuu had been the biggest help to learning just how similar yet role-reversed their kinds were. "I played no real role among our flock say for as a potential breeder.." He said it matter of factually. No hint of shame or embarrassment to his voice or expression. It simply was what it was and there was no reason he should try to hide who he was. "It is up to the females to hunt, protect, and if need be wage war in place of the males. Yes they 'capture' males to introduce new blood, but it is done so in hopes that they will in time settle with our females and help our race thrive. My father was one such captured male.. He'd been content to stay up till he learned of a female gone rogue. Instead of trusting my mother and the other mares to keep me safe, we fled.. a fact I regretted until my half sister and niece found me. "
Shifting about on his hooves, he looked around. "Like I said.. Outsiders are often welcome, mares from outside their flock have even joined up with them, it isn't uncommon, however you would not be trusted for a long while till you've proven your loyalty. So no.. we are not so very different from the other hippogryphs.. not really our society is just... a role reversed one."
