Beginning
Deciding to take a break from your training and lessons, you have wandered off to the sea side. How you travel to the shore is up to your imagination, but when you have finally arrived at your designation it is late afternoon. As you stroll along the sandy shore and enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves beating upon the shore, a glimmer inland catches your eye. Looking towards it you see what ever sparkled has vanished into a dark opening in the rocky hillside next to you.
As you wander over towards the hill, you can see that while it might be a tight squeeze, you think you can enter into the dark tunnel beyond.

Please write your reactions to this prompt and reasons for being here.
If you decide to leave without entering, then give a reason why and go to Quit.
If you wish to continue inside the tunnel, also give a reason why and go to Entering.

Casseth leaned back, using his arms to prop himself up, fingers digging into the sand. He stared out over the ocean, remembering the last time he'd been on this beach on Eowyn. Lith had splashed around in the ocean, had become one with it. They had fought kiadri, peisio and even an aiskala dragon. He stretched his wings out as he remembered the pain from the dragon teeth tearing into his flesh, remembered tumbling through the air and finally hitting water. If it hadn't of been for Lith, things would have turned out so much different.

Movement over to the side caught Cas' attention. His gaze darted over the cliff sides, eyes falling to the rocks jutting out of the side of it from his last visit to the beach. One thing was different, however. Off to the side, away from the footholds he'd made, was a cave opening. Whatever he had seen move, had disappeared into that cave. Curious, Casseth pushed himself up from the sand, the granules sticking to his legs unnoticed as he moved to the cliff side. Glancing up, he squinted as he pulled at his magic. When he reached his hand out, rock jutted out so that he could make his way easily up the side of the cliff.

Entering
As you squeeze into the dark tunnel, you can see a little in front of you. There are small animal tracks in the dirt beneath you. Wiggling your way slowly through the tunnel, you come upon a side tunnel. Both trails have animal tracks, though the path forward seems more traveled. Will you continue forward or turn and go down the side tunnel? Or have you had enough and want to crawl backwards and leave?

Once again, please respond to this prompt, what are your character's thoughts and feelings as they travel through this dark cramped tunnel.

If you
A) go forward, Go to "A: Forward,"
B) go down the side tunnel, Go to "B: Side Tunnel"

The opening to the cave was tight. Casseth's larger frame almost unable to squeeze through. Finally, though, he pushed his way into the cave. Even inside, though, the surroundings were small, causing Cas to have to stay on all fours, crawling through the tunnel. Because of his oblivionite blood, he wasn't having any trouble seeing. The tracks on the ground showed that he was not the only thing that had come through her recently. As he crawled through the cave, he came upon a side cave. Wrinkling his nose, he suddenly wished he wasn't alone.

Taking a deep breath he decided to continue forward, on the path that seemed more traveled.

Forward
Deciding to ignore the side tunnel, you continue on-wards. It seems a long time passes as you crawl forward, hands and knees hurting from the rocky ground and back cramping. Suddenly the dim air lightens; a gleam appears in front of you. As you crawl towards the light.....

Please roll a d100!
A) 1-10:: you tumble off the cliff edge. The fall will not kill you, but it will hurt! Go to "A1: Fall!".
B) 11-100:: you notice the floor suddenly dropping away and stop in time to not fall. Go to "A2:: Aware of Surroundings"

Aware
While you are engaged in following the light, as you crawl you can feel the ground start to slope. Taking your eyes off the light, you see that in front of you the ground abruptly falls away! Good thing you were paying attention! As you crawl to the edge and look you see a small cavern light up from a hole in the ceiling. Tree roots have forced their way into this cave and opened up a path for light and water. A small pond has formed beneath the opening. In the middle of it you see a tiny island. It is covered in junk; apparently a small creature has been stock piling stolen goods in this cave. Perhaps the sparkle that led you here was that same creature coming to drop off more shiny items. Some rags, broken bottles and broken jewelry appear to make up the majority of the pile. But amidst the pile you can spot something sparkling in the light, it looks different from the rest of it. You can see a tunnel leading into the cavern across from you.

What do you do?
A) Fly down? Go to "Cavern Room"
B) Climb down? Roll a d100,
» 1-50: you make it down successfully, Go to "Cavern Room"

» 51-100: you slip and fall, but still make it into the cavern. Go to "Cavern Room"
C) Go back and try the side tunnel? Go to "Side Tunnel"
D) Leave the tunnels and cavern? Go to "Quit"

The farther along he crawled the, lighter his surroundings seemed to become. His gaze focused in on the light, his mind wondering about the possibilities of what could lay beyond the end of this tunnel. He felt his hand slip slightly, the slope of the land slightly changing just enough that Cas, already sensitive to the earth itself, could tell. He paused, blinking and glancing down. The ground sloped gently down, ending abruptly. He crawled carefully over, sticking his head out of the hole and glancing around.

Cas' eyes widened at the sight before him. A large cavern lay before him, light filtering through the tree roots that had forced their way through the cavern's roof. His gaze traveled down the shafts of light and to the small pond and island below. Various bits of trash and junk littered the island, nothing of value readily obvious. A sparkle caught his eye as he pulled back into the tunnel. Curious, he wiggled around, turning himself around so that he could crawl out of the tunnel, backwards. Easily finding footholds for himself, he quickly made his way down the wall and to the cavern below.

Cavern Room
Looking around at your surroundings you see a small cavern light up from a hole in the ceiling. Tree roots have forced their way into this cave and opened up a path for light and water. A small pond has formed beneath the opening. In the middle of it you see a tiny island. It is covered in junk. Some rags, broken bottles and broken jewelry. Also amid the pile you can spot something sparkling in the light. The only openings that you can leave or enter this room from are from a tunnel that comes out half way up the wall or a tunnel that leads off into the dark again.

What do you do? What are your character's thoughts?
Do you:
A) Approach the pond and its pile? Go to "Loot"
B) Leave? Go to "Leaving B" if you wish go out the tunnel halfway up the cavern wall or "Leaving A" if you wish to go out the tunnel in the wall.

Casseth hesitated as he approached the pond, wondering how deep it really was. It would pose a problem if it was too deep to wade through. He bite his lip as he nervously took the first step into the small body of water. Just how deep could it get?

Another step forward. He gulped as he traveled farther into the small body of water, panicking as he made it out far enough for the water to come up to his waist. He hesitated, foot mid step as he wondered if it would get deeper. Finally, he pushed himself forward, relaxing slightly when the water remained at his waist. Slow as the trek was, he finally made it to the tiny island.

Loot
Approaching the pile, you wade through the cold pond waters. It is not deep and you can see small fish swim away from your noisy intrusion. As you reach the pile, you can see it is mostly rocks and trash gathered by some small creature, but amidst the trash you find an Ayrala and Peisio Dragon Orb! (one for each participant)

Now to leave. Go to "Leaving B" if you wish go out the tunnel in the middle of the wall or "Leaving A" if you wish to go out the tunnel in the wall.

As Cas pulled himself up out of the water, something sparkled in the sunlight. Moving carefully through the junk on the island he finally came upon what had caught his eye from above. Two dragon orbs; an ayrala and a peisio orb. He tilted his head before looking around, wondering what could have brought them here. He hesitated for only a second before reaching out and scooping them up. Dragon orbs were dragon orbs, whether he defeated the dragons himself or found them lying around. Surely no person was living in this cave. He had barely been able to fit through the tunnel opening himself. It had to be some kind of creature living here.

Leaving A
As you leave the cave behind you and crawl through the dark winding tunnel the sharp rocks protruding from the walls scratch and gouge you. It gradually slopes upwards, back towards the surface. After a while, you reach another tunnel. Looking down you can see the tracks that you made earlier. Following them out, you squeeze out back onto the surface. The sun is now on the horizon.

Orbs in his pack, Casseth quickly waded back through the pond. His eyes went to the hole at the bottom of the cavern. Deciding, instead of climbing back up the wall, he'd just make his way back through the tunnel down here. Maybe it was the same one that he had come across before and had decided to bypass? He crawled in, hissing as the first rock grazed his skin. He wanted badly to reach out with his magic, to make the sharp rocks disappear into the tunnel walls. He knew better, though and didn't want to chance caving the tunnel in on himself. He carefully made his way around each sharp rock, getting caught on more than he avoided. Finally, he made it back to the tunnel he'd been in before.

He squeezed back out of the tunnel, emerging into the setting sunlight. He frowned, realizing how much time he had really spent inside of the cave. Scrambling down the side of the cliff he quickly took off towards town, going over everything he had to tell his dad.
