Baer was relieved to finally find his apartment thanks to Nyx reading the map and showing him the way. This school was bigger then the entire town he was born in so it would be very easy for Baer to get lost or confused. "Finally I can change clothes. Any longer in the garments soaked in holy water and blessed by the spirits and I think I'll turn into a fish and go flopping into the nearest pool of water..." Baer said as he opened the door then he looked back at Nyx remembering he was supposed to be polite and well spoken at all times according to the royal family that took him in. "Ahahaha... Don't mind me. Please come in and make yourself comfortable. I'm going to change clothes and when I come back I will cook you something to eat for helping me. It's the least I could do." Baer said before he took his small suitcase to one of the back bedrooms of the apartment. He shut the door behind him before quickly changing into his normal wear clothes which consisted of a loose fitting black shirt, blue jeans, and white prayer beads hung around his neck to ward off evil spirits. He was now bare footed and his hair was long and draped over his shoulders. "What do you like to eat Nyx?" Baer asked when he returned to the living area.

Nyx smiled and sat perched on the edge of a chair as Baer went off. she listened attentively to her surroundings but tried to tune out when she heard the sounds of him changing. she shook her head and started playing with her knife so she would be distracted an alert at the same time. When he came out she blinked with surprise. "Oh...Umm... I eat anything" she said vaguely though fish croquettes were a favorite, she wasnt going to tell him because she wasnt used to people doing things for her, she looked at his long hair and couldnt help a smile. "You keep it so long..." she said in mingled awe, she always kept hers short because in a fight people could use it to their advantage.
Alert, But such long hair...amazement/Baer alone/Healthy
Wow my other reply took forever. Too hyper to sleep after getting large ice coffee at McDonalds so I shall reply now ^^

Baer brushed part of his bangs behind his ear as he listened to Nyx. She replied that she liked anything which made things easier and yet harder for him. He could choose to make something easy or try to make something the cooks back in the palace would always make for him. Deciding to try the later he looked for a pan to boil water in. "I had a friend back in the place I was before here...He was annoying but--" Baer began to tell the story, but paused in the middle as he started to read the back of a box of long spaghetti noodles trying to make sense of it before he put the pot in the sink and started to fill it with water. "He said my hair was like a sun to wash away sins. I never thought like that so one day I cut it all short. He made fun of me and so I decided to grow it long again. I haven't seen him since." Baer had never had anyone describe him that way before and quite frankly he was embarrassed by it. He though cutting his hair would make people see him differently, but it wasn't his outer appearance that they saw. His friend was talking about his soul that day. Baer then fell silent again as he started to look for something called salt that the box told him he needed. "Hey Nyx... Do you know what salt is?" Baer spoke the question so honestly it was easy to tell he had no idea what it was.

Nyx smiled and looked up, she listened intently as he told his tale and looked at his hair. "He wasnt talking about your outside looks, neither was i. Why do you think my hair is dark and short? i have secrets so to keep them hidden i choose a look which makes me blend in, in a crowd" she explained tilting her head to the side as she watched him. "Salt.... Hang on" she said grinning as she waked into the kitchen and rummaged around in the cupboards. "Here" she said pulling out a shaker of salt and putting some in the water, she then turned on the stove and put the stove on it. "Can i help you cook?" she asked, suddenly realizing she was probably stepping out of her place. she was embarrassed that she had shared so much information with him and wanted to hide it a bit.

Baer was silent with a small hit of surprise on his face as Nyx explained why she looked the way she did. The dark colors meant she had secrets and she was trying to blend in. Baer could respect that, and he wondered if Nyx being around him would draw unwanted attention to her. If all that stuff about being like the sun was true it would be hard for him not to stand out. Baer didn't care what other people thought of him. A small part of him missed his spoiled life back in the palace where everything seemed so easy for him. If he wanted something he only had to ask for it. He knew it was wrong to live like that and so now that he was free of all that he would do his best to not be a burden to anyone. Eventually he would learn to cook without burning things and fold the laundry and all those other little things that came so naturally to others. He just hoped Nyx would have enough patience with him until then.
Baer watched as Nyx retrieved the salt and sprinkled some into the water before taking the pan over to the stove and turning it on. "I would love it if you helped." Baer smiled at her trying to let her know she was welcome and he needed her help more than she probably realized. "Let's see...Next step is when water boils you measure out the noodles and put them into the water to cook. I think these are too long... Should we cut them or something?" Baer didn't understand that the noodles would become more flexible as they cooked. Baer felt pretty hopeless in that moment, but he was trying hard to keep it together. After the noodles were in the water cooking Baer looked over at Nyx and said "Nyx can I ask you something?" Baer would wait until she replied before he would ask. He felt a little nervous he might offend her if he said anything too personal.

Nyx smiled and shook her fringe out of her face as she went over and looked at the instructions. "Nope, they shrink a bit and get flexible when in water after a while" she explained giving him a small smile. "Sure, i can help" she added, walking over to the sink and washing her hands. "We're supposed to do this before we cook, but i like to say, "better late then never"" she said as she dried her hands on a towel. "Sure, you can ask me anything... well almost anything, questions about my past arent allowed until i know you better, no offence, but any other questions are fine" she said with a slight side smile as she turned and faced him. Curious, strangely happy/Baer and Her/Healthy

Watching Nyx wash her hands Baer looked down at his own wondering if he should do the same. He remembered his adoptive mother always fretting over him being dirty. "Prince Ainume go wash up right now! We are going to eat soon..." She would then rush him to the nearest sink and help him wash his hands and face until she was satisfied that he was clean enough to go into the dinning room to sit down the the others. He quickly washed up then folded his hands inside his sleeves while he tried to think of the best way to ask Nyx what he wanted to say.
"Nyx I need your help with something... I was told not to tell anyone, but I can't do this on my own. Lord Ainume gave me a mission before sending me here. He said there are evil demons hiding here that will hurt or kill the students. I don't really believe it, but I have to find proof one way or the other to send back to him....otherwise I can't go back home." Baer didn't like his adoptive father at all and always felt there was some hidden motive behind his smile. Just like when he was taken away to become their price he now knew this was the reason. To uncover the truth about this school and if there really was murderous demons living among the students. "They probably forgotten me by now, but I still miss them. My real family..." It was hard for Baer to hold himself back from crying. Every time he thought about his real parents it made him feel really sad and alone.

Nyx looked up from the pot as Baer spoke. she taste tested a noodle and drained them by the sink after Baer had washed his hands. She then put the pot of noodles on the stove to cool after she turned the heat off. she then turned and faced Baer. "Sure I'll help" she said with a slight pause, looking down to the ground. "I know what its like to miss family, though i cant get mine back, I'll help you get yours" she said, then to make herself feel less exposed she turned and started dishing up the food. "Do you want any sauce or anything on them?" she asked after she had served up the food in even amounts. she put the left overs in a container and into the fridge for later.
My sis is making our sims model XD it ended up being a small one floor house since the apartments looked too big for just two people. I'll post the screen shot tonight after work ^^ Pics have been added. What do you think?

Baer watched Nyx as she finished cooking the noodles then drained them. He tried to stay out of her way as much as possible while still remaining near her to watch her. Baer learned best from observation rather then instructions or lectures. Nyx then served the noodles onto a plate after telling him she would help him find his family though she couldn't get hers back. "...Just butter for me. Thank you and I'm glad you will help. I feel like you're the only friend I have Nyx. Even in the palace surrounded by so many people I still felt so very alone." Baer said before he sat down at the table. He twirled a few noodles around his fork before putting them in his mouth. He smiled at the pleasant taste of them. After eating about half the noodles quietly Baer put his fork down and looked up towards Nyx. ""I can't remember my mother anymore. My father looks like me but his hair is light brown and always braided in the back. We share the same eyes I was told many times as a child. He use to be a holyman, but he went against his teachings to be with the women he fell in love with...my mother. After renouncing himself the two of them left and started a new life in a place no one knew who they were. They were happy until the royal family saw me with my mother in the Market. They took me away and tried to change me. I feel like there is two people within me now. The boy who was happy to live off beat soup and play in the dirt...and then there is the person you see now. A product of the royal family's attempt to brainwash me into being their prince. I want to go home if only once to tell my real family how grateful I am for this life they gave me. Even if they don't remember it will help me close that part of my life and continue on with whatever fate holds for me after. Having you with me will give me the courage I need to tell them the truth. I've been running away for so long..." As he spoke he seemed to get more sad and a bit flustered with the way things turned out. There was a good side to it all. He was able to meet Nyx because of it. Baer reached for Nyx's hand and held it in his own for only a few moments. As his did his mind and body started to relax then he resumed eating his noodles cheerfully after releasing her hand.

Nyx put butter on Baer's noodles but didnt put anything on hers. she sat down next to him and picked at her food, so by the time he was half way done, she was barely started. she looked up at Baer as he spoke, her face revealing no emotions but her eyes showing sadness and pity. "I think they know you're grateful, for i doubt they seem to have raised a selfish child, but nevertheless, you are not selfish and both parts of you, the rich and the poor, are what helps make you... well... you" she said quietly, looking down at her weapons. they made it uncomfortable when she sat but she was used to it. She stiffened with surprise when Baer grabbed her hand, but she didnt remove" she commented after taking another mouthful.

Baer smiled at Nyx. Her words brought him comfort as he sat there next to her with his hand still over hers. If only he had meet her sooner. If she had been in the palace maybe Baer could of run away and gone back to his real family with Nyx there to protect him and make sure his food didn't burn. "I'm sorry... It's not like me to spill my guts like that. I never really told anyone how I felt before. I hope I'm not boring you too much." Baer was blushing again, but it was hardly noticeable with his bangs covering his cheeks then as a quick distraction he shoved the last bite of his spaghetti in his mouth. Thanks for the meal." Baer said almost ceremoniously then he remembered he wasn't at the table with the royal families twenty most trusted today. He was with his friend Nyx and whenever his formal side came out he felt slightly embarrassed. "You said earlier you could see my inner light, but everyone has both light and dark within them. For some the light is brighter, but without the dark the light will become to bright as turn everything white. We need both light and dark to exist. I think you are my darkness to keep me from disappearing in the white." Baer turned toward Nyx after he spoke feeling as if he may have said too much, but it was already to late to take the words back. It was how he felt after meeting her and he hoped Nyx didn't think he was being weird. Another life skill he was lacking in 'How to speak to someone of the opposite gender' and right now that one seemed worse then his many failed attempts at cooking.

"No, I'm not bored" Nyx said with a small smile as she took another bite full of her meal. she looked up as he said he was finished. "That was quick" she commented taking another bite, comfortable with eating more food now. she noticed his hair covering his face but didnt think anything of it. she listened as Baer spoke to her and took another bite before replying. "I am said to be as black as hell and as dark as the night, most fear me because of it, But i agree, as i am your darkness, you are my light, stopping me from falling into the never ending abyss of evil" she replied calmly, after thinking for a bit. she realized how weird that sounded and quickly shoved some more food into her mouth. "And I'm done" she announced, standing up and shifting her weapons so they were more comfortable. as she collected the dishes and went to wash up, she spoke. "Did you.... Did you hear a voice, or get a feeling that you had to wait in front of the school?" she asked, making her tone neutral. she was curious as to how that had happened, she didnt like the thought of people in her head. she held a hand up to the tattoo on her neck and sighed as she waited for the sink to fill up with soapy water.
I'm battling a bad bout of pain and insomnia right now I'm trying to wear myself down. Got a pain shot today and its making me feel kinda weird. I'll probably try to sleep soon even though I don't feel tired.

"Yes that describes us perfectly. Light and darkness, but I think they are wrong about you Nyx. They can't see who you really are and judge you too quickly. You are pretty scary when your fighting though I will admit. I'd be running for the hills if I was your enemy." Baer laughed lightly as Nyx started to wash up the dishes. When she asked if he heard a voice or felt anything when he first got to the school he tried to remember back. It felt like a very long time ago even though it was what only half a day since he first met Nyx standing by the steps leading to the school. "Now that you mention it I did hear a voice, though I couldn't recognize it at that moment. Somehow it felt right in my heart like someone I've known for a long time. The voice warned me that something evil would try to kill me. That was right before the assassin showed up. I guess you were trying to warn me even then." Baer calmly smiled after he spoke of the memory then he noticed Nyx cover the tattoo with her hand and he became worried. "Is something wrong Nyx? That...mark. Can you tell me what it is for?" Baer didn't get to see it long enough to tell exactly what it was, but it must hold some significance for Nyx. He heard in foreign counties tattoos were used for all kinds of things, and he also heard it was a painful process to get one.
