Name: Zelda Eve Thompson
Alias: Zelda
Age: 9
Gender: Female
Powers: Hydrokinesis
Aura: ████, low frequency, ████ highlight

Appearance: Although not among the smallest children - truly on par with other children her age - Zelda's physical appearance is stout and a little round; with baby fat limbs, chubby cheeks that dimple on both sides when she smiles, and a child's belly. Her skin is dark brown and marred only by the occasional faint scarring from assorted falls, scrapes, and other minor playtime mishaps. It's not uncommon for Zelda to walk around with a band aid across her knee or covering her elbow from some little bump on her travels.

The most eye catching physical feature Zelda has is no doubt her hair. Her eyes might have taken this spot if her hair did not cover them! Topping her head in swirly, curled bangs and fluffy shortness everywhere else, Zelda's hair is a pastel purple that makes it hard for her to be camouflaged anywhere. She rather likes her hair, especially its ease to maintain and is wholly nonplussed by the fact it outwardly appears to obscure her vision. Opposite to what people might think, Zelda can see perfectly fine and likens her hair to a two-way mirror when joking around. Beneath her bangs her eyes are a deep indigo color and a little big for her face in truth. Occasionally she will push her hair out of her eyes however this is not a common occurrence as it seems she finds enjoyment in leaving people mystified to if and how she can see. Zelda has a button nose and unlike her eyes it is not completely covered by her hair. Her mouth is the same in the latter respect, and her lips are slender.

When it comes to clothing, despite her inclination to explore the outdoors, Zelda is fond of girly things. She says it's because girly things actually provide a degree of looseness and ease of wear that she favors when going about her day. She loves dresses and skirts as much as shorts and capris but regardless of what it is, the more flowing or formless the cloth, the happier she is. The jury is out on sleeves. She enjoys the occasional t-shirt and sweaters when it gets cold, but the warmer months are for bare shoulders all the way! What's more, Zelda seems to not be picky when it comes to color and her wardrobe is a rainbow tucked away in a set of drawers. Given her nature, some days she chooses to clash, while others she makes an ensemble work together. Any counselor, camper, or other camp-slash-school
denizen will notice is Zelda readily shuns shoes whenever possible. Barefoot is the way to be, but if she absolutely
MUST? Sandals, puddles or no puddles.

Personality: Mellow | Amicable | Spacey | Procrastinator

Zelda doesn't so much "dance through life" as she does float through it because this is a child who always goes with the flow. This flow occasionally leads her to places where she gets into unintentional trouble, but with a personality as easygoing as hers is, Zelda is less likely to be bothered by her situation and instead more mildly amused by it.

Carefree? You have Zelda in one word. Careless? Almost, but not entirely and not to a degree that make her apathetic or insensitive toward others. Instead, Zelda is one hundred percent a mellow girl. With a natural affinity for hydrokinesis, Zelda seems to take 'going with the flow' to the next level with how laid-back and mild-mannered she is. She lives her life with the notion that nothing needs to be rushed nor should be rushed and that doing so is...well...a silly thing to do. How can one enjoy life when they're stressing out or running around like a decapitated chicken? From Zelda's point of view, it seems that they cannot and that's just a saddening thing because it's fun to be relaxed and thoroughly comfortable.

Because she is relaxed as anything (and perhaps even more than that), nothing seems to bother this girl. She takes everything in stride and with such level-headed clarity that it's a wonder if she ever gets riled up about anything at all. It seems she doesn't, as Zelda goes through her days with a surprisingly thick skin. Insults and the like don't seem to phase her much at all and in fact it might make a person wonder if she's even listening to what's being said! Yes, she is a complete and utter space-case, particularly fond of daydreaming when not in conversation - or even when in one as she seems to slip into the clouds without any warning. Thanks to this, you'll find she might end up lost or a half hour late to some engagement quite often. Her apologetic excuses are usually heartfelt - she does feel bad if she does miss out on something entirely or hurts someone's feelings - but she seems in no hurry to change her methods...or do much else quickly either.

Yes, Zelda is quite the procrastinator. As before, she sees no benefit in getting upset or worked up over the little things and this definitely extends to tasks throughout the day. Taking the laundry out, doing the dishes...Her thoughts on such matters are 'it can be done a little later, don't worry'. This of course ends up repeated over and over and while she's generally an absentminded girl in regards to her possessions, saying "I forgot" is the excuse she generally ends up using before apologizing and saying something along the lines of "Don't get flustered, it'll get done". Eventually it does, but people around Zelda might end up getting frustrated with her lack of immediate motivation and lackadaisical ways. At least on a plus side she is quite amicable and can a decent listener so long as the conversation holds or a brief moment of mental wanderlust doesn't kick in. Zelda takes to just about anyone almost immediately. A few minute conversation with her is enough to have her telling her counselors or parents "I made a friend today" and she gives people the benefit of the doubt until they prove themselves to be the sort she doesn't approve of (ie: mean people). Because of this, she's bound to have many more acquaintances than she does solid friends, but all are cherished just as equally and are bound to receive a little something on the appropriate holidays.

When it comes to full frontal assault - more than likely the verbal kind at this time in her life - Zelda remains as cool as the cucumber in the back of the fridge. Quite possibly frustrating for some, it seems as if she just doesn't care. Threats, shouting, upset gestures, and even cursing just go right over her head and her responses are often pleasant and/or otherwise curious in nature. Why is this person shouting? Don't they know that it's not good for their blood pressure? They're inside, so shouldn't they use their inside voice? It's not very nice to yell - it disrupts everyone else and gets spit on the face of the person being yelled at!

History: Due to her young age, Zelda's history is rather short. She was born March 19th to a non-psychic accountant father and a chlorokinetic florist mother. So far her childhood has been typical with school Monday through Friday (save for certain holidays and the odd Teacher Development Day), weekends and summertime off, and a smidgeon of homework here and there when school is in session. Zelda's parents are run of the mill in most respects, though her father is 'a little crazy' about numbers and her mother has one heck of a green thumb. Both are kept busy with their jobs and are good providers, but they do always make sure to make time for Zelda and her interests, as well as annual summer vacation trips and general family time.

Zelda's powers are not something that just showed up out of the blue one day. Even from infancy she was showing signs of being a psychic, which at the time was usually making her bathwater splash about even before she was put into the tub. This was an especially exciting time for her mother, who would stay at home for the first year of her daughter's life and thus had to deal with most of any watery mishaps that came about during the day. As she aged, Zelda's power naturally grew, and her mother counted herself lucky she had given birth to a mellow child who preferred water's calmer aspects to the more active and raging ones.

Regardless of Zelda's attitude and personality, it was clear the blossoming psychic was going to need more than just her mother's tutoring on how to handle her powers and how to go about life with them. Psychic powers and the existence of psychics were never hidden from Zelda and as such she has a working knowledge of Psychonauts as well as what Majesco Academy and Murmuring Pines are. If you are able to catch her and can hold her attention long enough, you might even be able to get her to list off a few PSI powers as well.

Now that she's reached the minimum age for entry into the Murmuring Pines summer camp program, her parent have happily signed her up for her first away-from-home trip. Zelda is quite excited for the new experience although as always, she is going with the flow one hundred percent of the way there.

Obstacles: with the theme of their mental world in mind, what sort of locations, obstacles, puzzles, or etc will they venture through and overcome? what skills are necessary?

ANIMAL FORM

Name: Chewie
Age: 2 years
Species: Piranha
Powers: Intuition and Pyrokinesis
Owner: Zelda Thompson

Appearance: Small in size but chock full of teeth and an ever present hunger, Chewie is obviously a piranha. He is smaller than your average tooth-bearing fish - roughly five and a quarter inches from mouth to tail - but makes up for his lack of size with teeth and PSI power. The former feature is definitely his most prominent. Chewie's lower jaw juts out comically far and his under-bite is so obvious the blind could see it. The teeth that jut from his jaw are numerous, sharp, and pearly white. They tear up food with ease though occasionally Chewie is left with a little scrap of food caught between them.

As far as coloration goes, Chewie is in fact atypical. Rather than being a dull grey-brown accented with yellow and red, he is instead largely a light shade of teal with a contrasting - but rather nice - light pink belly. His fins are also a light color - yellow in this case - with his dorsal fin bearing a tear from some past piranha warfare. On his back near his tail Chewie has some maroon flecking on his scales. There is no reason for it, they simply are and also do not spell out or show anything when connected on either side.

Personality: Chewie is Chewie and Chewie is a piranha. First and foremost, he is a toothy mouth with a black hole tethered to the end of it. In layman's terms: Chewie is always hungry. His small size is deceiving of the ravenous monster that happily swims inside the SUPER D-LUXE fish bowl he calls home. If Zelda fed him every minute of every hour of every day Chewie would be both grossly overweight and quite happy. As it stands, the book Zelda has on "proper" piranha care says that's a big no-no. Chewie hates that book with every fiber of his omega-3 fatty acid filled body but he is happy to note that Zelda is a generous owner who likes to give her pet snacks and treats every chance she gets. All the same, even that doesn't stop him from wanting food all the time or simply whenever it passes into his line of sight.

Adamant is a good way to describe Chewie. Tying into his food lust, the piranha has been known to bang repeatedly into the side of his bowl as he has discovered if he does it enough, he can actually make the bowl start to move across the surface it has been placed upon. This has led to several near mishaps since he was bought at the pet store and subsequently led Zelda to put Chewie's bowl on the rubber side of a no-slip place mat every night before bed. Let it be known that this is only a bump in the road and Chewie has every ounce of confidence that it can be conquered.

As a piranha, Chewie is - unfortunately - regularly gripped by throes of fishy aggression. Thanks to the psitanium in the area around the campsite (as well as the "pretty rock" Zelda ended up putting into his tank after one of her leisure walks) Chewie now finds he usually has a reason for his once random "pissy fish" moments. Commonly these are brought about by hunger (more a missed opportunity for a snack than Zelda forgetting to feed him his scheduled meal) but Chewie has discovered that with the unlocked higher intelligence bestowed upon him also came a couple quirks, including the ability to sense when people are lying. Chewie hates liars, especially ones who lie to the one who bears the hands that feed him. Unfortunately he was not granted the gift of speech and this is a big cause of frustration for him when he should be able to voice his opinion on certain matters. Happily for him, the old rhyme of 'liar, liar pants on fire' has not escaped his knowledge and if he wants said liar to be exposed, their trousers will "spontaneously" begin to combust. Usually - and just as frustratingly - this seems to only serve to cause a commotion and not actually point out that the person with the toasted tuckus is a dirty rotten liar. Perhaps one day, but Chewie can only hope.

History: Zelda "adopted" Chewie from a pet store a week before she went off to Murmuring Pines. Upon hearing pets were allowed at the camp, Zelda wanted a companion to take along with her on her latest adventure. Her parents agreed, wholly expecting their daughter would want a dog - something that would make a good camp buddy companion (slash chaperone) for their easily wandering child. What they didn't expect was for Zelda to pick Chewie, but when she laid eyes on him for the very first time, that was it.

Chewie had been put in a separate tank from all the other piranha not because he was smaller than the rest (and thus at risk) but because he kept going after his larger tank mates like he had something to prove. If that wasn't endearing enough, Zelda happened upon Chewie during the fish's feeding time and was enraptured with how he made bits of cooked chicken go flying in all directions - even out of the tank! His show of gusto for food - something Zelda herself shares - and his "comical" way of eating was all Zelda needed to see. She used all her saved up allowance to purchase the piranha right then and there, with her parents chipping in toward a sizable bowl, fish-friendly pebbles, a decorative plant, and a book called Your Piranha and You: 101 Ways to Keep Your Amazonian Flesh Ripper Happy And Your Fingers Intact.

Since then, Chewie has been with Zelda for everything. She takes him everywhere and it's no stretch to say that the camp and all its lands will definitely be included.

Zelda and Chewie are both safe and sound like they'd make interesting additions to the camp roster!

We know that Zelda is dismissive to frustration if it's directed at her, but we're very curious how she deals with actual adversity. Has there ever been true animosity from others thanks to her procrastination? How would she deal with someone full on red faced yelling at her? More relevantly, as one of our instructors/camp counselors is notoriously strict and known for his poor attitude, how would she deal with someone breathing down her neck all the time for her progress or being kind of a d**k about her low work output?

Hello! I'm just going through criting those who are asking for it, hopefully I can be helpful!

To start with I think she is adorable! Both the reference you have posted and the one by Snoof is pure perfection! Just out of curiosity does she normally wear plain bandaids or does she like ones with decorations? How are her teeth, since I feel like she is smiling a lot are they straight, crooked, or a little of both? Does she had a favorite color that she likes to wear, or one she hates, or does she consider all colors equal. With her love of having no shoes has she ever hurt her feet? Or is she careful with them.

Os there anything that does her get riled up? She feels bad about hurting someones feelings, but she doesn't want to change her methods? Does she try to do anything to make up for her being late/hurting their feelings other than saying sorry? Is there anything that someone could say/do that would get her to pop off?

Does her father know that her mother has abilities? If so what does he think about them, and if not why not? Does she have any cousins her age or family members that she/her family are close to? You talk about her mother knowing from a young age that Zelda was going to be a psychic but you don't talk about her father? Does he know at that age, and how did he take it if he did? If not how did her mother hide it from him? I feel like he does know, I just wanted to make sure.

I love Chewie!! Maybe you should include how she gets him in Zelda's history? Also you say that Zelda likes food in his history, but it isn't in her profile at all. Maybe you should include it somewhere? Other than that he is perfection, I love that he has fire and is all angry while she has water and is so calm.

        Hope that I was helpful!!

FINALLY DOING THIS. There's really very little I question because she's actually really fleshed out.

    Appearance

I have no questions here, I just want to say she's absolutely lovely and I'm so fond of her appearance-wise (and otherwise of course).

    Personality

Similar to what Dino asked, is there anything that actually can get her goat? And if there is, is she still pretty chill or is there anything that will actually get her to respond in a negative way? What are those things, if any, and how does she react?

And again, adding on to both Snoof and Dino here, what does she do when her procrastination really starts to cause problems? Does she just feel bad, or does she ever try to change it? I'm really similar to Zelda here and in my case I'm just really crappy about getting a handle on my procrastination. No matter how many times I say I'm sorry I find myself doing it again and feel awful over it every time. So I wonder how she is in this case?

    History

There's not much mentioned about her dad here. How does he feel about his wife and daughter being psychic? How did he find out (if he did at all) about his wife? Is he supportive of it all?

There's not much left to work on for Zelda, but there's a couple things we were curious about!

You do list at least that there are people she doesn't care for: "mean people". How does she qualify someone as mean if she isn't usually bothered by the things people do or say? When she does decide that someone is being mean, how does she deal with them? Does she avoid them or does she go about her usual business? What about people that aren't being mean to her but her friends or others?

She's familiar with Psychonauts and psychic dealings. Has she ever read the magazines like True Psychic Tales?

I would normally say that listing Chewie's usage and development of his powers before they actually attend camp would be superfluous and better off being shown through play but, as it stands, these descriptions give off a LOT more of Chewie's personality which seems quite important so -- just acknowledging that.

Did Zelda's parents have any qualms or worries about her picking a piranha to take with her to a camp full of other psychic children when they couldn't go with her to supervise?

    That's about it!

    Okay here we go!

    Mean People:
I left 'mean people' vague with the mind to go back and edit that to reflect something ACTUAL but I forgot to oops. What I meant by the term would be people who hurt animals, bullies, and that ilk (to start anyway, we'll see how RP expands that definition). When not dealing with the movie/book sort of 'mean people', Zelda's got chops on her - she'll call things like she sees them, even if it's said in a very casual tone (see the final paragraph of her personality, where I mention how she'd handle a person shouting). However she won't be stalking after the bully to purposefully antagonize them, but an eye will be kept out when they're in her vicinity.

The same would happen if there's someone being aggressive toward her friends or others. Call it like she sees it, aloud, but if need be, go to a counselor or teacher and tell them. I have a feeling she might get into trouble with anyone who tells her not to for whatever reason, but she's got one of those 'well if someone doesn't, they'll just keep doing it so if someone tells, it'll stop' mentality to her.

    Magazines:
She has! Her mother has a few subscriptions to psychic magazines, True Psychic Tales among them. I think Zelda will be bringing a few editions with her to camp, if not a few clipped articles she particularly enjoys to tack to her stretch of the cabin wall.

    Chewie/Zelda's Parents:
Not really! He might be a meat-eating fish, but they know the species has a bad rap from a lot of tall tales. Besides a fish is just a fish, right? ...Right?
