Sansa had finally gotten away from her awful prince--the king--of their land. She knew that time was against her and if she didn't take this opportunity now she would never seen one like it again. Her heart beat wildly in her chest and she could feel her legs shaking beneath her. Despite this she somehow managed to feel strong and confident. Those were feelings that she hadn't felt in a long time--if ever. Sansa Stark had always been a proper lady and was often cooed at like a bird by her wet nurse and other nobles. For a long time she thought that was what she wanted out of life. To be a proper lady, doting on her knight husband every day and giving her beautiful and strong sons who would have songs sung about their bravery in battle. It had been a fools dream. Or rather, who she thought would be her knight was.
It took the mare about an hour before she reached the forest just beyond the clearing where the castle was held. It may have seemed like a long time to most but when she had to sit in the shadows until the guards changed it in truth took her way less time than it should have. "Now I just need to run a little farther. . . " The mare told herself quietly. She had watched for weeks to see when the guards would change and for a distraction to come along. It felt like the gods were smiling on her again. Whether they were the new or the old, she could not say. Sansa believed in the new gods but a couple of her family members believed in the old. The thought of them caused an ache in her heart. She longed to feel the warm embrace of her mother and hear the gentle laughter of her brothers as they sparred. She even longed for her sister Arya and her crazy, un-ladylike antics. Sansa sniffed a couple times in order to keep her tears at bay. It wasn't a ladylike thing to do but no one was watching her so there was no reason for her to stress over it.
"I made it!" Sansa nearly squealed in joy when she finally reached the part of the forest that was no longer in the grasp of the kingdom. Of course that didn't mean that the guards that were surely after her still couldn't re-capture her, but at least now there was a decent amount of distance between her and the castle that she at least felt safe. The forest was also denser here than that which held the castle. It was hard for her to navigate which meant it would at least slow the guards down. A smile appeared on the mares face after what seemed like an eternity. When was the last time she had smiled? The muscles in her face felt tight from not using them in about a year but it was a feeling she was okay with. It meant something to her now. Her joy was quickly clammed down in her chest when she heard a rustling in the bushes. Instantly her thoughts rushed to the negatives. Was that the guards? How had they managed to catch up with her so quickly? Was there a place she could hide? Before she could think any further about it a small foal jumped out of the bushes and slammed into her legs. Sansa winced and her heart jumped in her throat.
Sansa heard the small foal groan and opened her eyes to see that it was a colt, trying to rise to his feet. "Hello there." She said gently, trying to hide her fear and anxiety. A foal? She had no time for this. Besides, he was dirty and more than likely a peasants child who would sell her out in an instant. "What are you doing in the woods?" She further questioned. The foal simply looked up at her and laughed. Did he just laugh? At her? The mares cheeks went red. "W--W--What?"
The colt continued to laugh. "You're so stiff and you have leaves stuck in your mane!" He snorted from laughing so hard. Sansa's cheeks deepened in their red hue. Even though she couldn't see her mane she could feel the twigs and leaves sticking out every which way. "I'm sorry I'm stiff. I bid you good day. " Sansa had to bite her lip in order to keep in her tears and frustration. She had endured all that the castle had thrown at her only to be insulted by a unknown colt? It was almost more than she could bare. Just as she was about to walk off the colt bit down on the end of her tail--which didn't hurt--and kept her from moving further. "Wait! I'm sorry I called you a stiff." The colt paused. "I'm lost. Can you help me find my parents?" He asked her.

Kumiho knew what a Soquili running for their life looked like. It was different than racing. Different than running for the sake of running. There was a desperateness to it. Quick movements. Shallow, shaky breaths. This mare had that stink of fear all over her.
She had leaves caught in her mane and she didn't even slow down. There was a frightened, desperate, but resolute steel in her eyes. As soon as Kumiho had heard her crashing through the woods, she began to follow.
She didn't know who this mare was or why she was running; but the fact that she was running was all the motivation she needed. There was chaos to be had, and she knew is she was patient the opportunity would present itself.
The mare... she ran on paws but was not a skinwalker. Something else. Something like him. This resemblance was enough to make Kumiho's fur prickle and she immediately hated this pawed mare. She would have to pay...somehow.
The mare was quick, that was for sure. Especially since she was much larger and Kumiho was following along in her fox-form. However, Kumiho had the advantage of agility that a full grown Soquili mare couldn't match. She could run up trees and over low-hanging branches, and between tight rocks.
After some time, Kumiho caught up to the mare who had stopped, and was now talking to a colt. What delicious drama would that unfold? Nearly purring in delight, she watched on, unseen, form a nearby tree.
