Kalidasa picked her way through the icy undergrowth, not enjoying this at all. She preferred openness: not this canopy of ugly tree branches that looked like claws reaching for her, trapping her. She sighed, hoping she would break out of forest soon, her breath coming out in an impatient huff. She was sure she was going to look like hell when this was over with too. Her poor curls. She sighed again, for their sakes.
She thought she could see them thinning out, thank the gods. She didn't let her hopes get too high though: she didn't know this land from the next. Who knew, maybe she was going deeper. The thought made her shudder. Then it seemed, like out of no where, she stumbled out into the open, her eyes blinking a little at the intensity of the sun. It wasn't as warm as she wished, either. Pouting, she began trying to stretch her wings, and flip her hair back into a decent place. She needed a bath, mostly, though.

 He'd found a bit of shelter to hide in with his father not too far back. But as Finian had urged his son, he had left the safety of the cave and set out to find a bit of food. Without huntresses to feed them... they were feeling the bite of cold and hunger. His stomach rumbled some. Oh what he'd give for something to eat... Berries, grass.. even some meat... Anything was better than bark right about now. Reaching the opening, he pawed at the still frozen earth and sniffed at it. Still nothing.. not even tender new grass starting to wake from the sleepy earth. His hind claws dug at the ground in frustration and irritation each toe stretching and digging furrows into the snowy ground.

Kalidasa sighed in relief, seeing the sky again. She noticed for the first time, she may be afraid of not having the wide open ceiling in her sight. That troubled her, and she laid it aside for future testing. A warrior was only as good as her weakest assets, or at least that's what mother had said--and she wasn't all too reliable of source for much.
As her thoughts raised about phobias and her mom, Kali had just be walking around, examining her new terrain. She missed the desert, away from this desolate, cold place. Her tummy rumbled and she sighed, wishing she'd happen upon a rabbit, but the flufflier ones here were much more skiddish than the lean ones from home. And they had a lot more hiding places .
She relented, and decided a hunting she will go. She glared at the tree line, and realized she wish she would have thought of hunger while she'd been trapped there. Instead she started smelling the air, trying to catch the scent of likely prey.

It was obvious that there would be no food in this small clearing. Heaving a heavy sigh that huffed out steam in billows from his nose, he turned and started to walk into the woods further. He needed to find something... anything that wasn't bark.
Carefully, he looked for any sign of tracks. A rabbit would be good.. so would a mouse or a gopher.. He paused to sniff at the air, catching an unfamiliar scent on the breeze, he paused like a deer in the woods. This wasn't good.. Strangers.. Strange female by the scent. unless it was just some really feminine smelling stallion.. occasionally the whistle stallions smelt like mares... but that was for any number of reasons. This wasn't the same though. It was all mare with no hint of male... Had they finally caught up? He hoped not.
