Name: Eogemet Age: 19 Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: Bisexual Craft/Rank: Apprentice Harper History:
Offspring of Eogenin and Dometer, Eogemet grew up on a farm in the vicinity of Trine Weyr. At a young age he started off as an Apprentice in Farmcraft, for his father Eogenin was a Master in that field. Going the route of the family business seemed promising and would please his father, except the fellow students weren't exactly the kindest to him. Plus, Farmcraft was excruciatingly boring. It's what he stuck with until he was around 13, when he decided to go for Starcraft instead. He always liked watching the skies, staring at Belior and Timor and spotting the constellations of the sky. He was ill-prepared for the challenges facing him and the immediate condescension fellow students showed him. They called him a "switcher", made fun of his inability to be decisive with what he wants to do with his life. The irony of being called a "switcher" was that he started to switch even more. First he took an interest in his mother's line of work - Healercraft - but managed to hurt someone. Then he dabbled with Dolphineers, flirted with Fishermen (discretely, of course) and eventually settled on Harpercraft. History was something he had always been intrigued about. While growing up, he would ask his parents why people don't have wings like the dragons or firelizards. What happened to humankind's third pair of limbs? One plus side to his indecisiveness is the potential to be of assistance to a wide variety of tasks.
Three turns prior, a lone silvery strand of what looked like tinsel fell from the sky. Part of it was singed from dragonfire, though this piece wasn't completely obliterated. The rest of its swarm was, however. As Eogemet was ever curious, he approached it, wondering if this was the dreaded Thread that he had heard from the stories. Soon his mother darted out the door, before stepping on that lone fragment of thread. She was severely injured, though it did not take her life. This was still traumatic for Eogemet, of course, and he would read up on all he could about dragons. It was that moment that he decided he wanted to Impress a dragon of his own.
The news of two other Dragon Weyrs being overthrown was troubling to Eogemet and his family. They started preparations to leave Trine entirely, probably join a group of Holdless nomads. But then, there were whispers of a new Weyrhold, established by one both the Revolution and the Resistance tried to recruit for their own needs, Natai.
Description:
Skinny, bony and short in stature, he didn't look like much, but he was lean and fit from living on his parents' farm. He was one who could be mistakenly underestimated. Maybe about 5'4" tall, still a really youthful appearance (so he looks younger than he actually is), eyes were green and hair was brown, medium length and a bit curly. No facial hair, though some would grow if he let it. He had a few freckles on his cheeks. A prominent jawline and wiry neck. Despite being a farming boy, he kept up with his hygiene. He has no combat skills, never needed them, but moving to a newly formed Weyrhold may yet change his mind.
Personality: Shy, curious, meek, bright-eyed, adventurous and sociable when in a comfortable environment. He's willing to help, even if he doesn't know what he is doing. He is quite intelligent. As noted in his history, he can be indecisive. In fact, he sometimes changes his mind when it is too late. He isn't even sure if he likes boys more than girls, though he is bashful with both if they please his eye. When it comes to other people, if someone is gregarious and approaches him willingly, he warms up faster to them. He still ultimately prefers gentle folk. Affectionate people get affections returned. Those in power intimidate him, he is unlikely to question a superior even if he feels uneasy following their orders, but that's not to say there isn't a point where he would refuse an order. He does not like being underestimated and may be more motivated to prove his worth if someone underestimates him - though this could lead him to overexert or bite off more than he can chew. He would stick up for his friends and more so for his family, but his way of confrontation is always verbal.
There is one thing he is sure about - he wants to Stand. For as long as he could remember, dragons have dominated his imagination. Nothing fills him with so much awe and intrigue as a mighty beast taking off into the sky. He wonders what flying through a cloud feels like, how high can one fly (as a child he imagined that was high enough to touch the stars), what is Between like? The only danger he knows of that comes with being a Rider is during Threadfall, but ever since his mother was crippled by a mere fragment of Thread he accepts that risk. It still frightens him, but so does the idea of Thread reaching the surface and scoring other people. He might be in over his head, there's no telling how he would act if he were in such a frightening situation.
Going to Euclid and volunteering to be a Candidate is the most adventurous thing he has done, so it remains to be seen what misadventure he might get into. There was an incident when he tried to catch a wild firelizard and got a pretty bad n** on the arm. This was before he learned a more sensible way of 'catching' firelizards without distressing them. VTOLs and other insect-like critters of Pern are also fun to chase. He also likes astronomy and stargazing. Other:
Political views are nascent but are very much in line with equality and fairness, but also unity of all of Pern, because conflicts between the Weyrholds makes Thread more dangerous to the people on the ground.

Hi! Great start here but we'll need some more detail in his personality in order to match him to a dragon. Try thinking about some of these points:
- What are his hopes and dreams; to be a rider? Is he aware of the danger that comes with this, and if so does it worry him?
- What sort of people do he get on best with? Other adventurous folk like him? Does he look for less meek personalities to follow?
- What kind of things does he like doing in his free time?
- What's he afraid of, and how does he tend to deal with fear.
- What makes him angry, or upsets him?
- How is he with a chain of command? Will he do as he's told, or will he question authority if he thinks he has a reason to?
- Has his adventurous nature ever got him into trouble?
Thanks for your patience! Let me know if you need any more advice.
