That morning, Suluksati awoke to a melodious and dulcet tone.
MOOOOOOO.
Suluksati blinked, staring into the stupid face of a sheron. It sniffed at her, inspecting her green feathers with its nibbling mouth before deciding to eat the hay instead. Suluksati flopped back on the pile of hay and, morosely, looked around to get her bearings.
She was in a bale of fodder, around Sheron, which meant she was likely on a farm. She was having trouble piecing together the night before, which likely meant that she hadn't slept in a while. Probably days, knowing her. Clearly, she had been exhausted and had come across a comfy hay bale. Comfier, at least, than a piece of hard stone, or a lumpy tree branch.
If she was on a farm, she should likely get off the farm before a farmer decided to stick her with a pitchfork. Or, before one of the dragon hunters she had pissed off found her and attacked her.
But Suluksati didn't want to move. She was still so tired, and she ached. She must have been fighting, but she couldn't remember. She was always fighting. Or starving. Or both.
Right now, she just wanted to go back to sleep. She Clawed at the hay, hollowing out a small nook of dry grass before she curled up in it, closing her eyes against the sunlight.

It was Avani's chore to milk the sheron in the morning. Mama loved to have fresh milk at breakfast, and cream too. As Avani entered the stable of the family barn, she went looking for Mama's milking sheron. She set the bucket by the milking stool and went in search of the wayward animal. Stupid sheron... As she found the sheron in the back of the barn, she grabbed it's rope to lead it back, but a patch of white in the extra hay caught her eye, (that stupid sheron was eating it instead of it's allotted portion again...). She abandoned the sheron, and moved closer to observe what it was. She gasped in shock and delight as she saw it was a Khehora, and one that was the opposite in color to Oblivion! It was pretty, but Avani liked Blivi's color better. She then led the sheron back to it's spot and tied it up so it didn't bother the Khehora, and went to see if it was alright. It didn't look hurt.... She hurried with the milking and her breakfast, then came back to the barn to protect the Khehora. Papa wouldn't mind it, unless it ate his stock, but Mama might faint dead away knowing a potentially dangerous animal was so close to the house.... Avani sat next to the Khehora in the hey and pondered what to do... If only there was somewhere it could stay....?

Apple Blossom19 Sulu doesn't wanna wake up razz Suluksati was tired enough to have drifted of into a half-asleep haze of sunlight and the sweet smell of hay. But she was an Aedaun, and it was daytime. The presence of light made the full oblivion of sleep impossible. She stirred as something rustled the hay next to her, her tail unwinding as she futilely changed positions into something more comfortable and possibly permitting of sleet, her fluffy tail, incidentally, coiling gently around Avani.

DraconicFeline Not the first for Avani being taken hostage by a Khehora tail xD She doesn't get it, but it doesn't bother her xD Avani looked down at the tail coiling around her. A little surprised, she kept looking as the Khehora's tail kept coiling away around her. Oh dear, she sighed resigned to the fact she was trapped there without waking up a sleeping dragon, Khehora's tails seemed to like her.... Oblivion's always moved her away and close to him when he thought she was in danger. What would he say to this? She mused with a smirk. Oh well, she had no where to go... Mama would no doubt not care as long as she was back by sunset. But, as she looked at the sleeping Khehora, what would happen if it was found before Avani could hide it? She petted the soft tail, and thought hard. Would the Khehora mind being woken up? Oblivi was cranky when he was woken up without due cause... Were all Khehora like that?

Suluksati rumbled quietly, still half asleep, as her tail was petted. It was nice. Honestly, she hadn't had much positive attention in recent years, between fights and harsh weather, she hadn't had much petting or snuggles at all. The petting intruded into her half dreams as her mother's nuzzle from long ago, and she shifted, exposing her belly almost cutely, before waking up a little more and realizing that it was not her mother, nor a dream, but there was someone actually petting her feathers. She blinked groggily. "Oh." she said, surprised, still very groggy, and still quite cute. Her tail still coiled around the young orderite, as if she hadn't realized that it was there. "Hello."

Avani smiled and stilled her hand on the Khehora's tail. "Hello!" she said smiling brightly. She then looked seriously at the Khehora and said, "Are you all right? You somehow got into the barn..." She tried to look over the animal for any kind of wounds, the animal's belly exposed. She itched to scratch it's belly to see if she liked it. Nix, her small little pet dragon loved to have her belly scratched. Instead Avani smiled and said, "Would you like some food? I can get some for you if you like!" She then put a finger to her lips to think, "You'll have to move out of the barn.... Papa and Mama would not like it if they found you here...."Avani had an idea where to put her, there was an abandoned shack in the far off corner of her father's land... It would be big enough for a single Khehora, and no one was using it for anything. "There is a shack in the far off field in the forest that borders our land and the second field that's big enough!"The Khehora seemed tired, she wondered if it was too tired to move...

Somehow? Suluksati didn't remember how. Likely, in a blur of need for heat and comfort. She shifted warily, working wakefullness back into her limbs. "I... apologize for the inconvenience." she said softly, "I wouldn't want to impose on you and your family for food..." she hesitated, "And I would not want to... A shack you say?" she asked, realizing she was still very tired. Perhaps she should drop the politeness and just let the orderite hatchling show it to her. "Where is this shack..." she asked, standing up and stretching somewhat, feeling sore and taut muscles pop, "I'm sorry to intrude, of course... But if I have just a little more sleep I would gladly be out of you and your parents hair..."

Avani smiled and said, "You are no bother, as long as you don't eat the sheron." The episode with Oblivion was not lightly forgotten, "But I can get what ever you need since Mama is going into town soon, and Papa is out in the fields today." She nodded heartily. She then chuckled a little, "Though you are rather large, and I don't know exactly what you would like to eat, not to mention how much you would like." Perhaps some sheron milk, and some meat that papa had just purchased. Avani felt this was a different Khehora than Oblivion. She was very polite and nice... At leas she didn't offer to make a meal of Avani! Avani tied to get up but realized the khehora's tail still wrapped around her. "I would be pleased to show you the way to the old shack!" she said giggling, "But I need to be released first!"As Avani was released, she said, "We'll go out the back way since most people don't go near there a lot." She scrambled past the Khehora and went to the back door of the barn. She looked out, and as she predicted, no one was about. Another good thing about the back door, it was close to the trees near the house. No one would notice them. they would have to go the longer, back way, but at leas no one would see them. Avani smiled up at the large Khehora and said, "No one is around. It might be a long while before we get there, but at least no one will see us." She blushed a little, "Not everyone on staff like Khehoroa's around farms, so that's why we at taking the back way."Though, Avani thought, (and felt guilty a little), that was in part to mysterious sheron attacks lately.

"I would never eat someone's livelihood. Ypou use them to make... things... that you trade for... other things. And you use them for food. I don't wish to inconvenience your family with my presence..." She hesitated, "Though... I would like meat... but if thats too much, I can eat... bread?" she hadn't digested it well, but food was food was food. "Hmm mmm and what is that... sweet, amber-colored thick liquid?" she asked. "I would be grateful." she uncoiled her tail from the girl, her fea hers flushing abashedly. "Oh! I do apologize." she said, "I.. understand. Please, lead on..." she stood up, shaking some of th hay from her feathers gently, [ "I would be surprised if they wanted my kind near your... farms? is that what this is called? Where two legs... sorry, Orderites... grow plants and animals to eat?"

Avani chuckled, "Yes, this is called a farm; we grow food, and raise animals that we also use to get a lot of things to sell, including the animals themselves at time!" Avani shook her head, "We have some meat, I will get the dried strips for you since Papa would be upset if he found some of the raw stuff gone."Avani brushed off a few stray pieces of hay from the big Khehora, "No need to apologize, you seem nicer than some Khehora that will remain nameless! He offered to eat me when we first met!" she giggled a bit and then said, "It's not that far and you will be asleep again in a while!" Avani grinned, "I'll get some hay for you to sleep in too since it might be a tad, er, rough." She would do that when she came back for some food for the big Khehora, "Then when you have ta take a rest in this area again, you can go there, and get me if you need anything!"She then led the way out of the barn and through the woods. Soon they were at the old abandoned cabin that would suit the big animal fine. "If you go in there and make yourself at home, I'll come back with some things to make you more comfortable!" Avani said opening the door and watching the Khehora, "It's not great, but no one will bother you while I get things and you rest!"DraconicFeline The title of this RP makes me giggle every time I see it xD

"Thank you." said Suluksati, slumping in pre-emptive relaxation, "This is a lovely place."/b] And to Sulu it was. She had grown accustomed to sleeping on rocks, hard ground, muddy ground, trees, and sand. A shelter that wasn't a cave, that was warm and dry and fairly clean and big enough to rest comfortably... that was more than enough for her. It was safer than some places she'd had to rest in - she remembered one old shack in soldul (during that horrible bloodmoon debacle) that she had hid in, only to find that a certain carnivorous flower also called it home. That the little one was offering to bring her straw and food made it, to Sulu, the lap of luxury. "You are generous. Whatever you bring will be just fine. Thank you." she said warmly and appreciatively. The only thing - the only possible thing - that could make these accomodations better would be a heated spring. Which was not something that could be brought. She made herself comfortable, and on Avani's return, she was found to be carefully preening - an activity she did not often have the safety or time to do. White, slightly damaged, feathers speckled the ground as she looked up. "I am sorry you were threatened by a Khehora." she said, resuming the conversation, "It was likely most rude of them."Because she couldn't imagine this little one stumbling into a Khehora-owned territory, or raiding a nest.

Avani silently agreed it was rude of that Khehora... meany he was at the time. "I'll be right back with the things!"She hurried off and got a wheelbarrow full of hay, one whole stack of it too! And snuck some dried sheron strips from the larder along with some water in a jug and a bowl the tired Khehora could use to drink. She returned quickly to the old shack, she brought in the hay as quietly as she could so not to disturb her and then then brought in the water jug and strips of meat. She didn't know what else to do... perhaps she could direct her to a nearby lake or stream to freshen up? She found an old crate and sat on it wondering what to do next.

Ahh, lovely hay and meat and water... "You are a kind little one." she remarked, purring softly as she looked up from her important preening task. "I forgot to ask. What is your name, my dear? My name is Suluksati."

Avani looked over to her and smiled, "My name is Avani!"Avani fidgeted a bit, and then said, "There is a lake nearby if you need to wash up later." Avani smiled brightly, "I like taking baths, but I hate when Mama has to scrub me hard to get off some of the dirt..."Nope, Avani hated every bit of taking a bath and getting scrubbed like that. Avani then asked, "Do you have enough food? Would you like more water?"She tried to think of anything else her guest would like.

"Baths are... difficult with feathers." Suluksati said, stretching and giving herself a shake to free the loosened feathers, "They get wet and heavy." She started on the meat, trying to eat it as daintily as she could - two leggers, she thought she remembered, did not eat as khehora did, and she didn't want to upset the young one. "No, thank you, I have enough." she said, "I do not want to impose on your hospitality... it really was enough, more than enough. Compared to how she had been sleeping and eating the past few days... no, months... this was palatial. It was gorgeous. It was decadent. She watched the girl fidget. "... But you can tell me more about yourself." she offered, drinking the water - somewhat messily, as there really was no way to lap it up daintily - "I am curious about why you seem so..." she hesitated, waiting for the right word, "Unafraid... of me."
