It got dark faster than he was expecting. It wasn’t even that late yet, but the sky was already dark, or as dark as it could get under the light of a city. There had been a few auras that the young senshi had been following, but lost track of as they flickered out of range.
Normally, youma didn’t come out until later at night, but with the cover of darkness, he knew there was a greater risk. And even though he’d like to fight youma and keep the city safe...er… he also knew there was way too much danger in him fighting them in the dark.
And yet, he found himself backtracking towards a strange combination of auras instead of heading home. He could feel that of a youma, as well as a guardian cat. Maybe it was Sheena or *********…? He’d only met the latter briefly, but if she was in some kind of trouble, he wanted to make sure she’d get out okay. And if it was Sheena, then he definitely wanted to make sure she was okay! He was her senshi, after all.
Sure enough, the form of a mutant looking dog with long, ribbon-like ears and tail was growling up a tree. “Hey! Go away!” he yelled at the beast, which took a few moments to turn his way, teeth bared.
Hmm, he probably should have thought this one through a bit more.

Dogs... why were all the youma she ran into dog-like? Stupid things...
Ash hissed as she arched her back, baring her fangs down at the monster that danced around below her. Her claws were sunk deep into the branch of the tree she was perched on, clinging for dear life after the scare of being chased up there. The monster had found her out looking for senshi and run her nearly all the way across town before she had finally given up on trying to out maneuver it and just grabbed some higher ground. It left her safe and high, but also stuck until the monster got tired of yapping at her and went away... which didn't look to be any time soon.
This was why she needed a senshi, or two. Someone who could stomp icky things like this so she didn't have to get so out of order running away from it. The silver cat desperately wanted to clean herself up, but there was no chance of that until she was down and safe again. She knew she looked a mess right now, her paws dusty and her fur in disarray.
Suddenly, a shout from nearby caught the attention of youma and cat alike, a burst of relief making Ash's legs weak as she felt a senshi signature. She realized too late that it was a chibi though and a new, different kind of fear entered her.
"Look out!" The cat cried as she clung to her branch, trying to mentally will her claws to unclench from the wood. She couldn't let one of the little ones face a monster on their own... they were dangerous, and she would never forgive herself if a chibi got hurt because of her.
