Zia wondered when the last time she had actively gone on patrol was. She didn't really wander around the city streets any more seeking people out and she certainly didn't hunt for monsters nearly as much as she had been this same time last year.
Instead, when she went out seeking the powered denizens of Destiny City, she went out hunting for a perch to sit at and powered up into a full on energy beacon, and waited for them to find her.
She realized, as she sat there filing her nails and trying to seem as nonthreatening as possible, that this was both incredibly lazy, and boring.
She'd complained about the boring factor previously, but put in this context it made it seem like that was her fault.
Which made her decide she didn't like that context and go right back to considering her unfortunate lull to be because the powered people were all being lazy assholes tonight.

Peklo had taken Celsus' advice to heart. She needed to be a little more assertive. Patrol a little more often. Really fight the war she'd promised Chronos she'd take on.
She was hardly the picture of heroic grace. Peklo darted from tree to tree, trying as hard as possible to stay out of sight and not noticed. After all, if no baddies noticed her, she didn't have to fight them! Therefore, she was doing her part in the fight without actually fighting.
Peklo was a bit of a coward.
Just a bit.

At this point, the lady with the cat ears was laying on her back on the picnic table, staring defiantly at the stars with her legs limply flopped over the edge and dangling and her arms crossed.
She felt a page in the area. A page who was not doing what curious creatures of the night were supposed to be doing, which was investigate the energy beacon of parallel aura blasting out from her.
"I don't know what you're a knight of," She yelled up in the sky, meaning it to be for who ever was hiding in the area.
"But it had better be the knight of get-your-butt-over-to-this-picnic-table, please."
After a brief moment she flopped up and shapeshifted to a fluffy cat. Fluffy cats were totally huggable and non-threatening, right?

Peklo froze mid-dash between trees. That cat had definitely talked, and definitely directly spoken to her. There were no other knights in the area (were there? Oh Peklo hoped with all her heart that the cat was talking to another knight and she could escape ...) from what Peklo could see.
Still, it was a cat. Cats were nice and fluffy and didn't say mean things even if you pet them the wrong way. Well, none of the ones Peklo had met anyways.
Like a sad dirge was playing in the background, Peklo slowly inched towards the cat, both scared and intrigued at the same time. "Um ... y-yess hello. A-Are you talking to me?"
Pleeeeeeeease let it not be her!!

"I don't see anyone else I could be talking too," The cat said dismissively as she groomed one paw, letting the poor page inch closer.
And once she was either satisfied or was simply tired of waiting, she glanced up at her, and then hopped down to weave around her legs.
"Are you scared of cats? Allergic? I promise I don't bite. Look at me, I'm not even Chaos."
The thing was, she was a selfish person at her core. While she came off as helpful and affectionate, it was usually due to a mutual interest, and if someone was uncomfortable with her well...
She really didn't care about the discomfort of others.

"Oh I ... s-suppose that's true," Peklo admitted meekly. There was indeed no one else around. So it made sense that the cat was talking to her.
She nervously pulled on her braids and said, "Um ... s-sorry I'm just ... sort of nervous around ... lots of things I g-guess." Her voice slowly trailed off, mumbling something incoherent. Her voice finally picked up again and she said, "wh-who are y-you little cat? Do you need help getting home?"
Peklo looked back up at the cat, expecting a response.

"Actually," She backed up from the poor girl's ankle's and shifted back up to a cat-eared lady, who then proceeded to invasively pet Peklo's hair. "I need your help with something else! I'm cataloging all the knights. Or trying to, and I'd love another Chronos knight if you'd just answer some questions."
And take a photo. And end up in a homemade database dedicated to stalking you for the rest of your powered career. But no big deal.
"It's really easy, promise! For starters, what's your weapon? Did you awaken on the Surrounding? Or some other way? Have you been to your wonder yet?"

Peklo gasped as the cat turned into a lady before her very eyes. She actually preferred the cat form a lot more (Peklo always felt safer around animals than she did people), but she didn't say anything for fear of offending the lady.
She tensed up a little when Zia went for her hair, but only grabbed her other braid and held it close. "Um ... u-um ... I'm sorry, c-can you slow down ..." she mumbled, tugging her braid closer. Zia was asking a lot of questions at once, and Peklo just couldn't keep up with it.
"I um ... I h-have been to my wonder ..." That was at least one question she'd caught. One for Peklo.

"Oh, sorry," Zia stopped and even put on hand over her mouth in a silly gesture marking her efforts to cease fire for a second and let the poor thing get her bearings.
Not that she thought Peklo as too much of a poor thing; She was knight and she had to toughen up sometime. Right? Right?!
She at least answered one question, which made Zia brighten considerably. Even if wonder questions weren't on her index, she still had a huge interest in them. "Really? What's it like? Is it on the Surrounding?"

Peklo nodded very slowly, still unsure if Zia was neccessarily someone to be trusted. She liked this lady well enough- as much as she liked any of the cats really, which was quite a bite- but it felt a bit pervasive to be bombarded by questions.
Still, Peklo was too much of a wimp to resist. "Um ... y-yes it is. Have you been there? The surrounding is very nice ... sometimes you can see Miss Chronos ..." There was a tiny smile crossing her face as she thought of her lovely princess. If there was one thing she was sure of, it was that the princess was the most lovely lady in all the land.
"If-If you are a nice person, I can tell you more if you'd like? Um ... a-are you a nice person?"

Zia stopped, her eyes fluttering in a few rapid blinks before she shrugged. She didn’t think of herself as a particularly nice person, but that was a mess of other complicated issues and she was having the prospect of more answers leveraged against her answer.
“I… wouldn’t everyone say they’re a nice person?” She asked, genuinely stammering over the trusting and naive way this girl was asking her.
Normally Zia could be callous in a way that she didn’t acknowledge the discomfort of others as sensitively as she should. She could be overbearing and invasive, and usually didn’t care if this was welcomed or not. But Peklo was hard to ignore as she stuttered out the question, so she put on hand on her hip and rubbed the back of her head as she thought uncomfortably on the matter.
And then flashed her a nervous smile with a shrug. “I can be nice to you!” Deciding this was an acceptable answer before pondering on the familiarity of Chronos’ name.
“The Zodiac princess?”
