The Academy of King Conrad is much like a school, only more exclusive. The selection process is rigorous and in the end only a select number are initiated. The marks of an Academy fish are poise, strong wit and well developed character. Once you are in the Academy of King Conrad school, you're never the same.

Ajax is in the middle of a mid-life crisis so he's a bit moody, but not to be trifled with. In another life he fought other fish for money and he was good at what he did; too good in fact. There was a big guppy fish that wanted Ajax to take some falls so he could win big, when he would not comply his wife was killed. The brute took off before his wife's funeral and came to a new place for a new life.

With that said, It's easy to understand why he's a bit of a recluse and quick to jump to his fists if he's in the right mood. For the most part he tries to stay mellow and go with the flow of life, there's nothing he can do to change it after all.
