♡ The Wedding ❤
Location: The Church
Time: 11AM - 11PM

Ah, the time of year for such a glorious, loving, wonderful thing as a wedding! One should come dressed in their very best to see the blushing bride and dashing groom be united under the eyes of the island goddess and join in the lifelong ceremony of marriage~! The candles are kept lit throughout the ceremony, the sheer amount keeping an otherworldly glow about the church - even the windows seem to light up when the ceremony is at it's peek! It really is a sight that can't be described by words as the Goddess and her children bless the day with their invisible presence - just hope you get invited too!

This was the happiest day of her life. Or, at least, Ayaka expected it to be the happiest day of her life! So far, she hadn't felt much happy, more just nervous. She was wearing her dream dress, marrying the man of her dreams, but... this was a very big life thing. Even if she had been living with Dodge for years now, and this wouldn't change a whole lot, it was still a shift in her being. She would no longer be Ayaka Ando after today, she would be... oh right, Ayaka Ando, she wasn't changing her name. So maybe this wasn't changing a whole lot, but there was a ring and a legal contract, and people she didn't know looking upon their shameful polygamous union and--

Pushing the bad thoughts out of her head, Ayaka focused on her wonderful, perfect Dodge, and brushed her short hair for the umpteenth time. Her hair was perfect, her makeup was as good as it was going to get, and so she set a cheap tiara on her head and began to fasten it with bobby pins. "...Baba-san," she began softly, looking over at the woman with whom she shared a changing room. Thank Buddha that she didn't look nearly as pregnant as that woman. "Are you... nervous?"

When was the last time Mei had gone to a wedding? She couldn't remember. She didn't have a lot of friends in life, and the ones she did have weren't really the wedding types. This was probably the first one she had been to in years. Maybe that was a side effect of getting older -- her kids would probably be the ones getting married next! Goodness that was a scary thought. This was also maybe the first coworker wedding she had ever been to. She didn't know Ayaka that well -- the younger woman had always been rather cold towards her -- but it would be impolite to not go. ...Who was she marrying again? As she approached the church, she looked around for a sign with the names of the bride and groom... wait, brides? With an s? Mei blinked and wondered if maybe she misread. Her English failed her sometimes. Smoothing out her cheongsam, she reassured herself that she had just misread. There couldn't be two brides, that just didn't make sense!

式式式

Sure, River didn't know who any of these people were, but when did that ever matter? A wedding was a wedding, and a wedding usually meant an ~*~open bar~*~ and when did a Park (minus Elliot) ever reject an excuse to have free booze? Her hair was brushed, her dress freshly laundered, and her shoes were... oh no, they were untied. After bending down to tie her sneakers, she bounced back up and glanced around the small crowd of people filing into the church. Nothing better than a party!

式式式

Maybe all of this wedding talk of Kade's had really gotten to her. Although her panic about Raiden going off with a French whore she had named Antoinette had died down since they decided to have another kid, maybe she wasn't as over the whole marriage thing as much as she thought she was. Why else would she be here, in a dress and shoes and jewelry that was way out of her budget, celebrating the weird threeway love of some complete strangers? (Oh Goddess she prayed this didn't give Raiden any weird ideas, she would not be willing to share him with Antoinette, no matter how legal it was here.) Making sure her earrings (the cost of which she would never tell her boyfriend, she could promise you that) were firmly in place, she scanned the pews in search of a place away from everyone else. "Where do you want to sit?"

式式式

Line up, bridesmaids, Garland (Smoot) was here! He had been living on this island for two years now, and yet he had failed to bang any hot Sonata Town chicks. For a little while, he had forgotten how desperate he was, but thankfully, the posting about the wedding had reminded him of his goal. What was more of a sure thing than single bridesmaids at a wedding, just as lonely and pathetic as himself? With his trademark goofy grin, he sidled up the aisle to plop down right in the first row, so the hotties with the bodies would know that a real man was here.

The groom was currently sitting on an overturned bucket behind the church. His hands were clutched together in front of him and his head was hanging low. Dodge wasn't entirely sure if he had ever felt so nervous in his entire life. There had been that one time that his high school football team made the state championship, but even that felt miniscule next to this. His whole life was changing right in front of him and this goddessawful vest was too damn tight. His mind was racing with thoughts of all that could go wrong. Baba could go into labor early and ruin the whole thing. She had already blown up to a pretty large size, and he was sure that he had heard that people giving birth to multiples were likely to go into labor early. He unlocked his fingers to run them through his hair. Ah, this was intense. He glanced at his watch to see if it was time for him to get in there. Thankfully, it seemed that he had a little more time to panic. Where were these kids going? They lived in a glorified minivan. He couldn't raise a family in a minivan. The thought of kids never really occurred to him. He had always just planned on living day by day with his beautiful girls, but now there would be kids. They needed to make a transition into something stable, but he didn't want to. He was still a kid! He shouldn't have to take care of a bunch of kids when he was still a kid. He could hear people arriving around the corner and it just made it seem all the more real. Why couldn't he just sit here and hold his head forever?

_____________________________________________

Raiden really was not sure why he was here. He hadn't even heard of these people and he certainly didn't want to be at some wedding. He wasn't the type to get into weddings, which was probably why he still wasn't married. The ceremony itself meant nothing, he was just as married as they were going to be. He didn't see anyone else, and he hoped Haruka didn't either. That was marriage, wasn't it? They had a kid and were going to have another. That was marriage. Being in a church and having people come and stare at you didn't make it any more marriage-y. This was all silly. He should be home right now watching TV. He turned his head to look over at Haruka when she spoke. "It really doesn't matter. It's not like we know either of them." He was having a hard time not rolling his eyes right now. There weren't that many people here yet, and even fewer that he recognized. As far as he cared, they could just go sit outside.

Beatrice would never miss a chance at going to a wedding. That was why she got overly excited when Xeiro mentioned that he would be going to this wedding. Sure, she didn't really know either of them, but it was nice to be able to go and see a beautiful moment. She had her purse, containing many tissues, with her when she arrived next to her brother. She was pretty sure that there was no way her eyes would still be dry by the end of the night. Weddings were just so beautiful and happy and she was so happy to be a part of this one. She saw a few people that she could recognize already there, but she didn't want to impose on any of them. She scanned the pews trying to determine where she should sit to get the best view. "How does there look?" She motioned over to a nice spot, hoping her brother would pay enough attention to her before the spot was taken.

_____________________________________________

Xeiro was looking mighty spiffy, if he did say so himself. "I'm looking pretty great, huh?" He smiled down at his lovely date, Tshila. So what if he loved to toot his own horn? Someone needed to give him the praise he deserved. It wasn't all that often that he got to dress up really nice, so this wedding felt nice. He even had the honor of his bakery making the dessert! He wasn't sure if he really knew the couple, but he'd gladly welcome any business. He turned his head to the other side to look down at his sister, "Uh, yeah. That looks fine to me." Seats were never really much of a problem for him since he could usually see over anyone, but if that's what she wanted. Beatrice had always been pretty into all of this romance stuff, so he figured she'd want to come. He had asked Lyra too, but she just laughed at him and carried a tub of ice cream up to her room. He really needed to get that girl out of the house more often. "Look good to you?" He turned back to Tshila to make sure she was okay with the choice.

_____________________________________________

Zelynity didn't really want to be here. She didn't know these people and dressing up was always weird. The last wedding she had been to on the island (was that the only other wedding?) wasn't that fun, and she didn't expect this one to be either. But Jacob had asked her to come, so here she was. She was pretty sure that he wouldn't even be able to sit with her anyway, which kind of made it all worse. It wouldn't be fun to just sit by herself and look up at him marrying this couple. It might be sexy to see him at work, who knows? She glanced around upon entering, trying to see if she knew anyone when she spotted a familiar purple mop of hair. She tiptoed over and wrapped her arms around him to cover his eyes. "GUESS WHOOOOOOOOO?" It's your dorky little sister that's taller than you and is going to totally ruin your night, that's who.

Resting one hand on her engorged belly, Baba watched mindlessly as Ayaka fretted with her hair. To be honest, she wasn't entirely for the wedding happening this soon, not when they could wait maybe a week or two for her to get the little monkeys out of her so they could have a real, proper wedding, but Ayaka had seemed excited about it and.. Well, Baba did sort of want to make sure her babies were born under a pair of properly joined parents. Still, she was more stressed out by the situation than need be as she rested on a fold out chair a little behind Ayaka. What if her water broke during the ceremony? What if they spent too much on this wedding and couldn't afford a proper house later? What if her father found out about the whole multiple wives and marriage-without-warning thing? She ran a hand through her hair and heaved a sigh, looking to the other woman as she was addressed.

No.” She replied quickly, maybe a bit too harshly, but she was sure Ayaka would understand. She frowned as she repeated herself, softening her tone, “No, I'm happy. It is good that we're back here, when the bar is out there.” She added to try to lighten things a bit, though all that did was make her sigh again. Paying for an open bar that Baba couldn't use herself had been and still was a terrible idea. One that had her still suspicious on whether Dodge was openly taunting her current status. She pursed her lips for a second, glancing at herself in the mirror to make sure her make up was in order. “..Have you told your father and mother?

Happy to be next to a woman who matched his changshan, Mao was pleased overall that he had chosen Mei to come with him to the ceremony. True, she was daft and had lost most of her spirit over the years working with him, but it was familiar to have her with him and, on the off chance one of the brides decided to go into labor and make this entire ceremony interesting, it would be nice to have someone there to help him deliver. Or to pass out and be used as a pillow for the woman giving birth. Either way, Mei would certainly prove to be a useful companion as they watched one of 'their own' marry themselves off. The whole multiple wives things didn't bother Mao much at all, especially considering it was Ayaka and he really enjoyed her being officially labeled as second-best at home as well as at work, but impregnating them both before the wedding was a bit.. Well, he wasn't sure what to think about it.

He did know what he wanted to do, however, as he walked around Mei to stroll up the isles until he found a sole man (Garland) that he could deem as the likeliest groom. He reached into his sleeve as he drawled, “Try using these before you impregnate anymore future wives.” Before he had finished speaking, Mao had dropped a small handful of sample condoms from the clinic onto the man's lap. Satisfied with himself, he walked away to find something else to put his attention on.

How long had it been since the last wedding? Jacob wasn't entirely sure and he was far too busy to think long enough to find that out as he reread his lines. He had sat himself on the stairs leading up to his bedroom within the church, the door hiding the stairs kept cracked so he could listen to the people slowly begin to gather outside. He wasn't really nervous about the whole ceremony, to be honest, but it didn't hurt to make sure he knew everything as well as he felt he did. Especially when he had to change the words a little here and there to include the second wife – which was completely ridiculous, if anyone bothered to ask him. A second wife? That would solve a lot of problems, sure, but there was no way the groom could really love both girls equally and he already foresaw a lot of messiness in the future, especially with children in the mix. But, he couldn't judge, so personal beliefs had to be left behind this door before he walked out there. He could probably hide out in there until the ceremony was done with and he could run to the bar to get a drink. Thank Goddess there was an open bar with this one.

Oh, God, a wedding! Finally! Kade was all smiles as he entered the church – not even his surely grumpy brother could bring him down! Of course, it wasn't the wedding he was pushing to happen, but he was certain that after Haruka and Raiden had the opportunity to watch the beauty of the ceremony they would be so moved that they may just get married right there! He hoped the church had an extra box of tissues, because Kade would really begin bawling his eyes out if that were to happen! Thankfully, he had remembered to carefully pack an extra nice dress in his bag just so Haruka had something to change into on the spot. He patted the bag securely and glanced around the church, immediately spotting his favorite employee (Haruka) who he would just have to greet in the best way possible! He hurried on over from behind the girl and, wrapping his arms around her middle, chirped a cheery, “Oh, Haruuuukaaaa! I'm so happy you decided to come!

Oh, Weddings. The birth of love. Zhi didn't like to present herself as the massive romantic that she was, but there was little other reason for her wanting to come with River when her wife decided to attend the wedding of a group of complete strangers. Of course, Zhi wasn't really interested in the romance of the people getting married or the couples attending, but the atmosphere was perfect for setting up some much needed romance for her own love story. Which was still going and everything with no hitches or signs of it diminishing at all. She hoped. She frowned as she glanced over the church, wondering if this was actually a bad idea and if River was going to walk out of here with hopes for a second wife to join the family, which would be the absolute worst because Zhi did not do sharing. But, it was okay! She would just have to watch River extra closely and make sure the woman couldn't possibly remember the night.

Darling, do you want a drink? I can get you some Absinthe.” She suggested with a smile as she approached the woman (River), setting a hand on her shoulder.

Murren had been looking everywhere for the groom, but he was no where to be found. She was already rolling up the sleeves to her shirt when she stepped behind the church and found him sitting on an overturned bucket, head dropped down against his hands. Well, that was good. At least she didn't have to hunt him down now.

"Och, there yer are,"
she said, smoothing her long, black skirt as she stepped around the corner. "Ah woz lookin' all o'er fer yer." She paused and stared down at him. "Yer look bloody awful," she told him, taking his arms and giving him a pull. "Come on, oop wi' yer. If'n yer sit back 'ere, yer goin' ter mope yersel' inter a fit."

"We can' 'ave th' groom sittin' alone lookin' loike 'ee's goin' ter 'is ex'cution."

"You always do," Tshila said, grinning up at Xeiro. She was really excited to be at a western wedding. She'd never been to one before and so far it was totally different than what she'd been expecting. Like, totally different. Kind of in a weird way. She slipped her arm around his, peering around him to the spot they'd chosen. "It looks great to me."

Tshila was really glad Beatrice had come because she had really been hoping to get to know Xeiro's family a little better and Beatrice was way less intimidating than Lyra. The relationship dynamic with Lyra was just a little awkward because, well, they were practically the same age. She might actually be older. Tshila wasn't sure and she couldn't really ask without potentially revealing her own age, which was ostensibly 29. She kind of had this fear that Xeiro would balk a little if he found out her real age--much less that she'd been somewhat deceptive about it. Not that she'd ever directly lied. She just hadn't exactly volunteered correct information.

Gah! Now she was making herself nervous. "L-Let's go!" she said, tugging him in that direction. "Otherwise, someone will steal our chairs and Beatrice and I will totally have to fight for them--well, not really because that would be totally rude to do at someone else's wedding. But still, come on!"

Ayaka didn't really understand the bar reference, but she chalked it up as a German thing and nodded. She was a little disappointed in Baba's response, because it meant that she had to keep denying the nerves prickling her stomach (or was that the baby? It was hard to tell sometimes) and that was turning out to be a chore. But it was reassuring to have someone there with her, it made it easier. "Ayaka is happy, Baba-san is here." She fiddled with the pins on her tiara as the other woman asked about her parents. Ayaka paused. "...About wedding? Or about baby?" Folding her hands in her lap, she looked at Baba rather solemnly for herself. "I tell about wedding, yes, loooong time before." She had left the house with marriage in mind, of course, so they had always known. They weren't in touch that often, though, so they probably had no clue that she was getting married today. "Baby, not so many. My father, tabun, say 'Ayaka! Baby need grandfather and grandmother! I buy air-o-plane ticket now!' and come see. But sore wa no good." She shook her head before continuing softly. "Father do not know Baba-san. About Baba-san." The idea of his only child marrying a foreigner had been hard enough, he didn't need to know that there were other women involved. He definitely would not approve.

For a moment River had forgotten that Zhi had come with her, which was a strange thing to do because her wife liked to turn little outings into dates and was always there. Once she remembered that she had someone to talk to, River's smile widened. "Nah, that's okay. I can have a light drink after the ceremony." What a considerate wife she had, though! She was thinking of all the other weddings they had gone to together before, and she hoped that Zhi would drink with her like she had done the first time. "Now! Where should we sit? I'm thinking the groom's side, I like his style." She liked the name 'Dodge Davenport', it was classy, and the idea of advertising a wedding on the request board was genius.

式式式

Haruka pursed her lips at Raiden's response. She knew he wasn't thrilled to be there, but he didn't have to make it so obvious. But the last thing she wanted was a fight, especially when things had been so good with them, so she let his comment slip through one ear and out the other, and focused on other things. Like the arrival of her boss and her boyfriend's sister. "Zell! I didn't know you were coming! ...I like your... dress..." she added falteringly as she glanced Zelynity over. Oh no, their dresses were too similar. Zelynity's was short and flirty and made her look so much younger... Oh Goddess, did Haruka's dress make her look matronly? She resisted the urge to pester Raiden with questions about her outfit choice and appearance (which he'd surely appreciate) as she was seized by fear. That's why, when Kade appeared out of nowhere and grabbed her waist, she jumped nearly a foot in the air. This wedding was not very good for her heart so far. "K-Kade, you're here too, of course you are," she replied awkwardly. "Should we all sit together...?"

式式式

Garland had only been sitting in the front pew for a moment or two when someone approached him. At first he thought it might be a hot chick, so he looked up with a goofy grin, but his smile vanished when he saw it was a middle-aged Chinese man instead. "...Wha..?" he managed to choke out, of course having no clue what the man was talking about. Future wives? Impregnate? He had never impregnated anybody before. He gawked at the stranger for a moment before looking down at his hands... which were now full of condoms. As he registered what had happened, that a strange man in a weird robe had bestowed upon him condoms (which, if you didn't already know, were things you used in sex), the whole church exploded in shining light and song. He, Garland Smoot, had been blessed by some sort of... God of booty. "Th-thank you, sir! Thank you!" he cried after Mao before looking down at the condoms like he was holding precious jewels. This was a good sign, a very very good sign.
