Roll a six: Electric Field: The field is completely flat. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field are five electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These release static discharge across the field at random; electric attacks may be able to amplify themselves by using these stray charges to their advantage. The discharges also programmed to encourage pokemon to avoid standing in one location for too long This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ELECTRIC type attacks.

Lenore walked into the Stadium, pokeball in hand. "Let's go, Ellie!" Tossing the pokeball out onto the field, the darkrai appeared, ready for battle.

Arissa walked onto the field slowly to give her time to survey the battlefield. This one was flat, which would make it easy for Ronen to get around, but the tall towers on it were a bit worrisome. What were they for? When one of them discharged a burst of static electricity, she had her answer. "You should probably try to avoid those." she told Ronen, who she was carrying in her arms. The Togepi nodded up at her, then looked out as their opponent arrived.
So they were fighting a Darkrai? Arissa tried to think what moves would be best against that as she set Ronen down at the edge of the battlefield.

Lenore gave a short wave to her opponent before calling out an order for Ellie. "Ellie, use Poison Jab!" The darkrai's eyes began to glow, and noxious poison she dreamed up from Jin-Gitaxias coated her hand. As her eyes continued to glow, she flew towards the togepi, reeling back for a punch.

Ronen was not ready for the swift attack and was hit solidly, stumbling back a few steps. He wobbled a little, on the verge of falling over, but managed to regain his balance.
Seeing him off-balance gave Arissa an idea. "Ronen, try a Signal Beam."
The Togepi held his hands in front of him as a bright light coalesced on front of them. Then beam in a dizzing array of many colors shot toward his opponent.

"Ellie, close your eyes!" The darkrai did as she was told, the poison dissipating from her hand. "Alright, now use Sludge Bomb!" Elesh Norn opened her eyes and they glowed once more, posion swirling in the air before coalescing into a sphere that launched towards Ronen.

Well, that hadn't worked. As a glob of sludge headed for Ronen, Arissa considered other options. Straight damage was unlikely to work at this point. Maybe go defensive? "Ronen, Ancientpower," she said.
Ronen had been hit by the gunk and was trying to wipe it off his face. He got his eyes clear and concentrated, cloaking himself in a protective aura that seemed to make his shell as tough as rock.

"Ellie, use Ominous Wind!" The darkrai's eyes stopped glowing, and the poison vanished. A dark wind began to blow behind the darkrai, raising her power.

The wind dissipated as the togepi trilled happily. This is going nowhere. "Ellie, use Sludge Bomb again!"
The darkrai nodded to Lenore, and her eyes began to glow once more. She sent another sphere of poison at the togepi.

And so Ronen was hit by another batch of gunk right in his smiling face. As he started to wipe it off, Arissa called "Another Ancientpower."
Ronen absentmindedly cleaned his face as he concentrated, thickening his shell once more.

When the next blob hit Ronen, he gagged, as some of it had gotten in his mouth. The tried to spit the stuff out and started to look rather green.
Oh dear. Should she finish this quickly so she could get him to the Pokemon Center, or continue the battle. But Ronen, despite looking somewhat ill, was clearly willing to keep going. Alright then. "Ronen, Signal Beam."
The Togepi once more gathered a ball of light and sent it streaking at the Darkrai.

Elesh Norn wasn't quick enough to look away from the lights, and she became dizzy. "Use Swagger!" Shaking her head, Elesh Norn began to sway hypnotically from side to side.
