Personality: At first impression, Cobalt Lightning can seem quiet and disconnected, though can easily reveal himself open for conversation. He can be rather stubborn and a bit arrogant, but usually means well. Objects or events that confuse him, however, almost immediately spike his curiosity. It's also becoming rather obvious that to those whose company he enjoys he treats as if he's no better than them, or in some cases they're no better than himself.
Skills: Cobalt Lightning can demonstrate rather extensive knowledge about the Arcane Arts. While he is able to hurl multiple magical projectiles at ease, he is also able to engage in Close Quarters Combat,
using a pair of generated sword-spikes on his front legs while standing upright on his hind to fight. His style strikes a heavy resemblance to a humanoid stance, further proven by taunting his opponent by hopping around in anticipation.
Biography: Cobalt Lightning was born and raised in a small city by the name of Manebourne, a few hundred miles northeast of Canterlot. However, it was usually a dull day, filled with the same daily routines, through much of Cobalt's childhood.
That quickly changed on Princess Luna's return, however, as it caused some events from the past to repeat: One such was a landslide from the mountain the city was settled upon, nearly destroying every building on it, but luckily no lives. Knowing that there was a much larger world than his home, Cobalt Lightning set off on his way to the capitol of Equestria. A good three days passed before the orange unicorn finally arrived, but it didn't take him nearly that long to be accepted into the Royal Guard as a Mage under House Regard, even as his near-adulthood age.
By his seventeenth Birthday, Cobalt Lightning had seemingly mastered one of the most basic spells known in the world, yet was considered one of the most advanced mages to yet live for aiding in the discovery of the flexibility of said spell. To this day, he still practices magic outside of his duties, if he's not studying about magic, the mulitudes of artifacts, or about Starswirl the Bearded's work. Upon the latter, Cobalt believes he may be a descendant of the most powerful wizard to live, and continues his studies to prove it.
It has been another three or four years since Cobalt Lightning made his journey and was accepted into the kingdom's standing military. Through those, he was involved in repelling the Changeling invasion and defending the Crystal Empire for a time. After his return to the nation, the young mage took it upon himself to further improve teleportation magic, hoping to do the same with it as he did with the now named 'Ars Dynamicus' spell, although this has met little to no success. Due to his ambition to better the general understanding of magic, Cobalt Lightning was put under House Hoofstallion, and is already planning on a lengthy expedition to the end of the world with them.
Likes: Studying, practicing what he studies, all forms of magic, and, oddly enough, meat.
Dislikes: Stereotyping individuals, being confused for a female, and being drawn away from his studies. Oh, and every manner of insect.
