Real name: Gabriel Beckett
Powers/abilities: Mechanical Intuition - Have an innate understanding of even the most complex aspects of mechanics with little or no study. The user can observe random scattered "junk" and subconsciously or effortlessly create a schematic then create an effective creation or device using said "junk". Could be used to make complex devices or weapons out of mere scrap and "garbage" (although he prefers to use better items than junk and garbage).

Rookie: The boys got some ideas brewing in his mind of what he wants to make, but his current skills don't allow him to accomplish them yet. His current creations is Rocket boots, enabling for flying and a robotic chip he sewn into his scarf which senses his brainwaves and moves around to act like a second pair of arms. The arms are about as strong as a typical grown adult male, and since they function from brainwaves, they do function fairly well unless something happens to be interfering with his brainwaves.
Sidekick: With his schematics making (and being as a citizen of Sewit), he created his own modification on himself to be a stronger person. The thought of a suit came to mind, but then again he fears that without it then he is just a useless boy underneath it all and rather make the idea become a part of him physically. He has designed these himself and to have them installed, Gabriel traveled back to his city in Sewit to have the long surgery and the physical therapy afterwards in his recovery and using the new parts. His new abilities consist of eye replacements, he will 'upgrade himself so to speak,' gaining robotic eyes. The eyes will be the same color of his normal eyes however, and only noticeable really as they now glow. With the replacements done, his sight is enhanced by visually being able to see at longer distances and additional of night and heat vision. However with the improvements comes with some withdrawals, such as he has to sacrifice his tear ducts for crying would damage his eyes. Water and machine never mixes well and this is no exception to him, if exposed to water his eyes can and will short out, leaving him 'blind' until they are fixed.
His second upgrade comes in the way of making robotic arms to replace his weak, wimpy arms. His strength is increased and durability, however since this now leaves him with lack of sensation due to nonexistent limbs he has to be extra careful of the pressure he applies to things, as such he made sure to put in a pressure indicator that will alert in his new eyes when he is over exerting. With the new upgrades, again, he does have to sacrifice his sense of touch in his arms except at the joint part where the mechanical arms are attached to his body for the nerves has to be connected together so he can move his arms. It is a painful process with the alignment and removal, but if his hand is crushed for example he doesn't feel the pain there. Despite it being a painful process though, Gabriel can remove his arms whenever he needs to such as to detach one to fix any problems and updates of any weaponry he thinks up. To remove them though, he has a process to have them removed which is easy to come off. If someone tries to remove them by force (yanking and pulling) it'll be difficult because it's just like trying to rip an actual arm off. It is connected to him straight to the nerve and it will feel like they are ripping his arm off. Another minus to this upgrade is his natural speed is slower now due to the added weight, but he tries to make that up with his rocket boots to an upgrade in support of the added weight than the normal before.
Hero: His technology is upgraded and up to date with state of the art parts which are lighter but still durable which fixed his dexterity problem from before. His legs were the next to be upgraded to become a replacement of his rocket boots just to better support himself with his arms. Wires can be attached between his legs and arms to transfer a shift of energy power in case if he needs more power to fly or more to fight. If these lines are ever severed, which is rather hard to do, but if done he cannot shift power between the limbs until the problem is corrected.
From his arms, he can now produce energy beam attacks. His right arm is a high impact energy cannon and his left arm shifts and changes into an electric blade. Placing the palms together though, unleashes a larger electrical attack. Both in his side kick and hero stage, every night as he sleeps for eight hours (or less depending on how much power he used in a day) his limbs are hooked up and charged with the power needed to just move. However, if there ever is a power outage at the academy or some sort of danger in which he has to evacuate then he would have to use a backup source of saved power to take him; like batteries. He will plug his arms and legs to a travel case like device to move to another area where he can finish recharging, or at least close to for he will have about 2 hours.
But with all the new additions he made to his body, he never questioned about how much he has crossed the line with the sacrifices he made for his mind was so wrapped up around his goals of being stronger; his current body was in the way. It was the norm of Sewit as their morals and ethics are twisted which is what he grew up to seeing, but it would be in his Hero stage that he realized he gave up on the very small things he overlooked. Gabriel can never cry again, and he can never feel the delightful sensation of holding someone's hand. There is even some fear of just hugging a person for he might accidentally crush them. He would feel that he is a monster more than a hero, but he will be responsible of the decisions he made and live through it for he has no other choice but to.
Which area is the character based/from: Sewit
Age upon entering academy: Fifteen
How did your character get their powers: Genetics from his father, his father's powers are Cyberkinesis (technology manipulation) and not to mention where he lives too also has an affect too. He has a strong fascination with technology for as long as he can remember in seeing how the technology is used in the city to make it a better place. His powers is his passion.
Motivation for entering academy: To make him more social? Gabriel rather stay at home, in his room/lab to create. His father and mother saw that and believed he can do so much more than just invent things; thinking that the school will do wonders for him in discovering it. Now, that is his parents' reason while he doesn't want to go to the academy at all and dealing with . . . people. But he has no other choice on the matter now.
Strengths:
So white and nerdy - Technology is what he knows and loves. Just by seeing a piece of lovely machinery in front of him and with a little fiddling, he can tell you how it is made, what the power source is and even if it has a power chip. Reverse engineering items is obviously not a problem for the boy, as long as he has the means to do so. Thanks to this he can easily build up tech for himself to aid in his crime fighting capers, even if he's only seen them once.
If someone is in need of his assistance they would need to either have the item or a blueprint of it, then he could figure out how to make them one, for a price of course. When it comes to being in a pinch on missions, Gabriel is excellent in thinking outside of the box, say there is a broken down rocket boot? He's able to jerry rig up a few fast fixes to at least get it to working for awhile until it can be properly fixed up.
Recycler - No parts are spared, he tends to use every single bit of them in his inventions. Not liking to idea of wasting and even adding extra pieces just to make sure gear can properly function under stress that might break a few bolts. Even the smallest screw has a purpose and Gabriel intends to use them or else he fears that it will bite him back, so backup is necessary. Being as he keeps things to reuse and he know lives in a much smaller area, he has developed a system and installed several dressers and shelves in his room to store his items, this keeps his room and work-space clear and easy for him to access. Gabriel however does limit himself, he won't pick up any random trash or bolt off the streets. But he will pick up items or bolts he thinks he can use later on a project. Thus brings in his backpack he keeps it around so that he can pick up items while out and about, along with carrying his tools.
Sponge for a brain - He has excellent memory of the things that he has studied or experimented on. Even if he only has a few minute to study things, he retains the information well. This coming in handy if he ever has to remember pass-codes on the go or street signs while on a mission. While he can remember most things just from a few minutes glances, it doesn't leak into things like fighting styles or things that require intensive training.
Weaknesses:
Muscles only in his fingers - He's not the strongest guy in the world, hell, his super scarf is stronger than his arms since he spends his time working on his inventions and machines rather than doing some actual working out. While he can't really lift his own weight for a pull-up, he does have some endurance from traveling. Puny by nature, its only natural that he does get sick more often than not thanks to lack of a proper immune system, not only doesn't he work out but he tends to overwork and not eat well when he is focused on a project. While he is wimpy now he won't be in the future but as he develops so will his weaknesses.
When he grows and becomes a cyborg, his weaknesses will change to a weakness of water for it will short circuit his mechanical limbs. A little sprinkle of water is fine but any more than that will do some serious damage. Clashing against electricity will short circuit his system. And while he is indeed stronger, his mechanical muscles have a set limit to his strength unlike how a person can do strength training to become stronger.
10% Power left (in his sidekick and hero stage) - With all the upgrades, it only makes sense that Gabby will need to recharge at night. If he doesn't he is in danger of becoming a sitting duck, not only when his limbs get upgraded but also now for his scarf needs to be powered up as do his boots or they too will go down. He does have reserve backup power to use just in case when the power is gone, but it will only last for about 20 minutes, which honestly in a battle leaves little time to get to a proper power source. Like with most tech devices, his are not water -proof yet, cause he's totally working on that. So when something he has created does get wet it runs the obvious danger of malfunctioning and shorting out on him. If by some chance someone manages to sneak a virus in on his tech or hack them, Gabriel given his actual powers would be able to fix it though not with some obvious frustrations, which stands to reason as with water and if his battery dies he would be left pretty much powerless since technology is mainly what he relies on given he isn't physically strong.
Antisocial, except on the internet - Screw all the teamwork tasks and duo team ups. He would rather work alone than with someone else, for he feels that he can get the job done faster. Since he doesn't want to spend the time in explaining things, because to him that's just wasting precious time. Given this mindset, he obviously doesn't make friends easily at all. That being said, if something were to happen to him, outside of family well . . . no one would be around to aid him or care what happened to him. Help is basically an alien term to him as it is, he doesn't know how to ask for it nor will he which can put him into all kinds of messes until someone simply comes along and forces a clean up.
Awkward as he is, Gabriel manages to find safety on the internet in chat rooms, mostly because if he fails to impress people or anything of the like he can always sign out and enter with a new name, a new identity. Given he uses the internet to escape, nine times out of ten he pretends to be someone or something he is not, even though he insist to himself its an 'experiment' he knows it's because he simply cannot stand to be social with 'normal people.' Given that he would never honestly tell someone who he really is online it would be pretty slim chance in him meeting someone from online but if he did, he'd pretend to not know them.
Personality:
+ Intelligent - Computers, technology, engineering, mathematics, science, it's easy to see why he is an intelligent guy in the first place. Gabriel is a studious guy who can offer any little bit of advice if someone asked him about (anything academic though, forget about serious social problems and situations for he's useless there. Love is just a four letter word to him). But he is also globally wise from his travels and his observations of people and customs by knowing the customs of the area, try to blend in and not stick out or else he will be nailed down, be polite if he feels offended, and try to avoid trouble. He is rather quick to think in a stressful situation in trying to find the best solution on the matter. After all, spending years of researching and observing he can easily dissect the situation down to the very root of the problem.
+ Hardworking - Devoted to the task ahead, he is not one to give up and reach until he gets a favorable outcome. Nothing is easily gained even though he is intelligent and has the ease of understanding, Gabriel puts in the same effort and passion for the things that intrigues him just as everyone else does. Even with subjects that is not his strongest, he will research and work his fingers to the bone to get it right for he hates to be deemed as a failure since he knows he can be better than that. But if he ever does come across a dead end to a research or come up with an answer that is not favorable to his liking, he has no choice to accept it and swallow his pride that what he thought was right. Be aware that he will go through a depression of it until he gets over it and just push on to the next day.
+/- Determined - He has a strong set of mind and perseverance to reach to whatever his goal is which is something to admire about. In order to do that though is that Gabriel pushes his emotional thoughts and morals out to the side for they only hinder him down. Emotions are trivial and can make the heart waver around. But because of this though, he pushes the concerns of others around him and not hearing them out of what his decision is. Friction can be made with the people around him if they say it is a bad idea (such as the idea of upgrading his body) but to him, it is the only thing to do in order to become a stronger hero in the academy. To be called out on what he thinks will bring him out into a debate of things to explain why he made the choice and follows it through the end. People can call him out all the things; it is a stupid idea and etc. But he has a decision to make and at least he makes it instead of being an indecisive idiot. So he pushes out those negative comments even though it does hurt him he only keeps it on the inside. He is a very stubborn guy after all, but of course if he keeps it in for a long time Gabriel will just be an explosion of emotions.
- Loner - His parents are constantly working and being a single child, it never bothered him being alone. He rather likes being alone than with others which makes any source of teamwork non existent. It's not that he rejects human interaction completely and becoming a hermit, but Gabriel chooses to be alone for the reason that he can get things done in his pace rather than being slowed down by people. His independence is prized greatly. He feels as though people don't really understand him that well and avoids those situations. Being misunderstood is a painful thing to him and he would excuse himself. Sometimes though he will be rude to them if they do not understand that he wants to be alone; especially if they are stupid and he can't comprehend. But being in the school he knows he can't get his own way like that. He can't jeopardize his grades all because of something so silly, and is willing to go with any teamwork assignments. He will be bitter along the way while trying his best, and he would have times of going rogue on specific situations if he knows he can do it instead of waiting for the other person. Sure, he might be hated by his teammates that they were suppose to do it together, but if he sees a shot he can make he is going to take and give the both of them the credit of the task being finished.
- Stubborn - Live and let lived. No matter what they say he's not going to do it and stays firm to what he wants to do. To go against what he finds comfortable and easy is something so scary and stressful that Gabriel doesn't want to listen or do something. He will ignore them or try to make them sway to what he wants to do for it'll be very difficult to make him change his mind for what he sets on doing is going to stay there. If they can't be sway then they will be brushed off and ignored because to him it seemed that they don't understand at all what he is trying to do. Rational thinking is something confusion when the conclusion they can make is "because it's wrong". It'll probably give him a headache just thinking about it really, and again he will just ignore them because there will be no conclusion to the dispute. The only thing that might make him think otherwise is if the person brought up some extremely good points and legit facts of why his way is wrong and to make him realize it. He can't fight against is logic if they can bring up good facts about it of what he might not think about, but other than that he is just going to go the other way and be by himself thank you very much!
Hobbies
Surfing the internet: The internet is his life where Gabriel can freely talk to others who share the same likeness as he has. He has a blog on the most well known website, jumblr (yes it's tumblr) which is where he posts up and reblog things that he likes; science, robots, some music and comics, art, and publish his own writings, pictures he took, and creations. So far is has only a couple hundred followers which makes him incredibly happy, but he does fall into a bit of a depression when he looses a follower.
Traveling: Being trapped in his room with his face against the monitor is not a good thing to do. He likes to see different places in person rather than just see it through the computer screen. It's something that he feels so relaxing about whenever he is by himself in seeing the different things, but of course he will pretty much die without his computer or laptop with him and takes his portable computer which is a bracelet.
Tinkering: Sometimes he just feels like making something whether it be small robots or other small little gadgets. What he likes to make though is small robotic animals just to keep him company at times. Although sometimes he would have to give them away to others when he makes too many of them. It's better that way than taking them apart which is just too cruel.
Favorite food: Gabriel loves taffy for the glucose in sugar helps fuel his brain for activity and work. His favorite flavor is cotton candy and vanilla taffy. He also like mushrooms as well and makes cream of wild mushroom soup as his go to comfort food.
Birthday: February 9
Zodiac: Aquarius
General backstory: Cole Beckette is a native man from Sewit who met his lovely wife, Charlotte, from Upper Sewit. Both of them were from different parts but the two do find their love within machinery which is how they first met in the first place. Cole traveled to Upper Sewit for a little vacation which is something so rare of him to do when he has his own electronics company to run, Beck Inc., but he was pushed by his very own coworkers to get some free time. He had met his future wife when he was window shopping at her boutique where Charlotte creates Steam punk fashion. When they first met . . . they had an argument about their own views and aesthetics. It was ugly; nothing like those romantic first sightings of love at all. Cole was hit in the head with one of her boots which packed a wallop. However, Charlotte did felt terrible for hurting him like that and wanted to make it up to him with lunch to better argue over which was the start of it all.
At the end of his vacation, Cole made a very good friend who turned to his girl friend, and then his wife a couple of years later as Charlotte moved to Sewit with him. Years later, Gabriel was born who grew up rather independent from his parents who are both very busy people with their careers. His life was a normal one but rather a lonely one, yet he was understanding about it and rather find something that he likes to do. He fell in love with the electronics of his father's company to which he gets into a lot of trouble messing around with at home such as rewiring the house system, making more robot servants which confuses the ones that they have (such as the robot home tutor he will destroy for being an idiot), and there's always some sort of explosion happening at least once a day. One time when he was eight though, Gabriel had one terrible accident at home when he tried on creating on his robotics which was adult sized; much bigger than the smaller projects he did. It had left his heavily injured with only the scars placed on his face and his parents were away at work during the time. It was then they need to keep an eye on him more.
His times of travel begin as Gabriel will be with his parents at work whenever he has his break from school and after school. He was a quiet observer who stays merely at the background in seeing how the electronics his father makes, and in the summer he will travel with his mother for her steampunk fashion line was beginning to be seen at shows. Thus, he began to look at things differently of how he went about. At the age of 12, he properly worked on new inventions instead of taking things apart. He made rocket boots for better traveling for people who have to go far but don't have the money for transportation. He worked on nanotechnology and sewn a microchip to a scarf and it picks up on his brain waves to move and act like a second pair of arms. He was happy about his accomplishments and continued to do as he pleases since then. Gabriel shut himself in his room or goes out on his own adventures to get some fresh air. Yet, he has so much potential to do more than just live a solitary life . . .
His parents took action, they learned about the academy and believed that it will be a good place for him to go and learn. He might even learn some humility being with others, or just learn how to be with others. Gabriel was, of course, not excited at all of what had happened behind his back for he wanted to just be an inventor and not some sidekick or super hero, but he wasn't given a choice at all and was sent packing away.
