 As his name would imply, Winter was must more comfortable in the winter than the summer. Indeed, the cold, clean, crispness of winter actually coaxed the introverted and reclusive stallion out of his home. In a rare bought of adventurer's spirit, Winter was taking a long hike around the lands, allowing himself to enjoy the change of scenery. He had decided to take a rest by a small, quick moving stream. He drank from the frigid water and tucked his legs under him. He moved around some snow with his muzzle and nibbled at the browning grass underneath, unbeknownst he may have been wandering into anyone else's territory.

 On this day, Elpidius had found himself wandering away from the herd lands that he and his family called home in order to explore what this winter wonderland had to offer. After the first snowfall he had quickly come to realize that he liked snow. He liked the chill it sent down his spine and to his legs, it made him feel alive, even if he still wasn't fully sure that he was. He also liked the crunching noise it made under his hoof with each step. But, most of all, he liked peering at it through his translucent bits.
Noting a rather quaint looking stream just ahead, Elpidius picked up his pace. Smiling at the steady crunching under his hooves as he trotted up to the stream. Upon drawing near, he skidded to a halt, flinging bits of snow into the water where he eagerly watched it drift away, ignorant to the presence of the stallion.

Winter looked up with a start as mare came galloping up, skidding in the snow and causing the flurries to dust up into the air. He smiled to himself; playing in the snow was one of his fondest memories. He stood, as politeness would dictate, at the presence of a newcomer. He wasn't usually one to speak first, already feeling his shyness start to take hold of him, but at the presence of the new Soquili he bowed his head, allowing his long, flowing mane to tumble over his face. A smile and nod is generally how he said hello... because it meant he didn't have to say it first.

Kamiki Sorry, I haven't been feeling so hot. I also think a reply got eaten, because I swear I had gotten at least one out oxo
As the other bowed, a sound of embarrassment escaped his throat. Boney hooves skidded in the snow as he twisted to face the other. Uncertain how to reply, he bowed his head while simultaneously speaking, "Oh, sorry. Hello!"

Winter forced a smile, looking over the newcomer. Upon closer inspection, Winter noticed for the first time the ghostly elements of the new Soquili - in the right light, it was if he could see right through her - to the bones underneath. He felt the fur on the back of his neck stand on edge and send a tingle down his spine - it was creepy. But... perhaps more creepy in an interesting way, then a spooky way. The mare certainly didn't seem aggressive or mean, or otherwise threatening in anyway.
He said mare, as that's how she appeared to him at first. But already, even now, Winter could tell there something different. The way she held her carriage or something...
He realized his introvert was showing - standing there getting lost in his own head and trying to make assumptions about the situation instead of just talking and asking questions. "Hello," he said. His voice was soft, but warm. "My name is Winter Rose. Nice to meet you."
That was a start, right?

As silence dragged on, Elpidius couldn't help but slightly shift in the snow as he straightened back up. It wasn't out of nerve, no, he was used to drawn out silences. His father wasn't much of a talker, and his grandfather Ellial, well, he was a different brand of odd. Minutes could go by with the older stallion not saying a single world when lost in his own little world.
Softly spoken words drew his attention, his ears pricking forward to hear the voice better. The voice sounded male, so stallion? A very pretty stallion, not that he found anything wrong with that. Elp's translucent mouth formed a smile, something that he was aware could look quite disturbing. "Elpidius. I didn't get you with, did I?"
He toed at the snow with a hoof, referring to his little... entrance.

"Oh no!" he said quickly, not wanting to make the other Soquili feel awkward. "You didn't get me."
He returned the smile, though the fact that the translucent bits on this one made the smile somewhat creepy wasn't lost on him. However, he was been raised to be respectful and his mother had told him many times over that there is good in everyone. What makes a Soquili evil or ugly is their actions, not their appearance.
Not that he would call it ugly anyway. Unique, and vaguely macabre. But not ugly by any means. He was rather fond of the ghostly/icy aesthetic anyway.
"Elpidius is a pretty name," he said. "Does it mean anything?"

Kamiki Just a heads up, I am going to be busy next couple of weeks. Trip this weekend, and an expo next weekend.
Drawing to a stop, he glanced up and down the creek before returning his gaze to Winter Rose."You out here alone?"

"Hope," he repeated with a warm smile. "That's a great name. Mine is pretty straightforward I suppose, because I was born in the middle of winter. Though, you can just call me Winter."
He looked around his surroundings when Elpidius asked if he was alone, a bit self conscious. Was that weird? "Oh, yeah. I don't live too far away, but I was eager to get out and stretch my legs. I...I guess I can be kind of a recluse sometimes," he said with a sheepish expression. Winter was hardly ever this talkative, but there was something about Elpidius that he found very intriguing.
