Kai stood by a moonlit stream quenching his thirst. After moving out of Eden and in to the forest he had gained the nickname 'ghost of the moon.' Kids would sneak out during the night whilst their parents slept and he often spied them standing behind tree trunks, whispering to one another rumors and stories of his existence. If they got too close Kai would scare them off and it would set off a chain event where they would return with more children.

They were the only ones who came to see him. He hadn't offered to tell his own children where he was going when he left, he went without a trace and was now a local resident to the forest standing behind him. He knew they were in good hands... The angels were better at family than he was and he had only made the effort through being blinded by what he thought was love. He had gone backwards in life and all the progress he had made was nothing more than a memory.

Ears twitching he lifts his head to the sound of hooves shuffling through the grass and squeaky voices snapping at one another to stay quiet. He smirks at the children's antics and turns his back to them wondering how brave they would be tonight.
