Still laughing from the final scene, Fiona sat with a smile across her face which spread from ear to ear, fully pleased with Disney's movie Frozen, she rose to her feet once the wall-o-credits began rolling and the small pictures and scenes had come to an end. All at once the LED lights and wall sconces began to illuminate the walk ways making it easier to exit the theater without bumping into someone or tripping over a bag by mistake. Letting out a small amused laugh, she watched as various people got up significantly quicker than others no doubt making a break for the restroom.

With a shake of her head she turned to face Fionan, stormy blue eyes full of happiness fell upon his muddy green eyes, a color quite unique unto him. "Shall we?" she inquired while collecting her belongings. Unable to help herself she began humming the melody to the song 'Let it Go'. One she had heard plenty of times before finally making it to the theater due to the number of times patrons at the Destiny City Ice Rink requested to listen to Demi Lovato's version.

The movie wasn't one he'd normally go see, not that he had a thing against any particular type of movie. But Disney movies were too young for him, at leas tit's how he felt, but one simply didn't deny their girlfriend the choice of movie they wanted to see - at least he didn't. So when he'd asked Fiona out on a date he'd told her to decide what she wanted to do, unsure what she'd pick but knowing they'd both enjoy it anyway, and wasn't all that surprised with the choice. His girlfriend had a love for all that was winter - snow, ice, cold, you know it and she loved it. She even worked at an ice rink. So he knew a trip to see this movie would happen, just not when, so he'd prepared himself to go and see the first Disney movie in a least seven or eight years.

It hadn't been bad, though he'd enjoyed watching his girlfriends face light up at scenes, so when the credits had finally started to roll he was ready to get up. Grabbing his coat, since the theater was nice and warm, he found himself still seated while she stood collecting her things. Eyes met and he gave her a smile as he stood. "Yeah, bathroom before we leave? Or are we good to go and find something to eat?" He questioned as he wondered if any street vendors would be open this late; he knew none of the food trucks operated this late. He didn't need a bathroom, thankfully, he'd wandered out of the movie not too long ago to handle that issue - considering the amount of liquid he'd consumed during the movie. "Drinks to go as well." He said after a moment before offering to hold her bag so she could get her coat on, he'd get his on after she'd gotten her own on.

"Are you going to come over on the 6th, for the Olympic opening ceremony still. I don't know if anythings' suddenly come up for you." He doubted anything had and he didn't already know about it, had something come up he'd likely be the first to know, but he still asked anyway.

"I'm actually good," she replied. Though she probably should take the oportunity, the thought of waiting in line to use the restroom was less than appealing and a grand waste of time. "We can grab refills on the way out then see if there is any place local that is still open. Are you craving anything particular?" she inquired considering she wasn't exactly in the mood for anything specific just so long as it was edible.

Before exiting out into the hallway Fiona tossed the empty box of Sour Patch Kids in the recycle bin the linked her now free arm through Fionan's. As the two made their way to the concession stand for a refill on their beverages she confirmed his inquiry "Don't worry, I'll be heading over right when class lets out. I already asked my boss for the day off two weeks ago and he okayed it, so we're in the clear. Is there anything you want me to bring?

"You know me Fi, I go for street food. So if we pass a food cart I'd be good." If this had been earlier he'd be checking on his phone for which food trucks were where and heading for the nearest one, he didn't have an issue with trying new foods. "Unless we pass something and you find something your interested in." He said with a shrug; open minded to whatever his girlfriend might wanna do.

"Alright, I'll be getting out of classes a bit early and heading right home. Ummm...you can grab anything you'd like to eat or drink - since the opening ceremony will be how long. I don't know what we'll be having for dinner but whatever it is your welcome to join my family, as always." It was likely to be some Irish dish, it was what was mostly served at his house. Fiona was always allowed over his home and free to join them for a meal whenever, his family liked her a lot. "So just something to nibble on after dinner." With her hanging onto his arm they waited on the short line till they could order drink refills, which he did, and waited for her to do the same.

"Did you hear they have two new events in these Olympics?" He questioned, knowing one would especially appeal to his girlfriend.

Fiona removed the lid off her drink and handed the cup to the concession stand worker, requesting a refill on lemonade. "I'll make some fresh oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and bring them over for desert." It has been a few weeks since she last baked something, it would be good to make something sweet again.

When the gal behind the counter handed Fiona her drink, she smiled sincerely and offered a polite "Thank you" before putting the lid back on and linking her arm back through Fionan's and proceeding out the exit. "I can think of two places that might be open. There is a Thai truck about five blocks that way" with her drink in hand she pointed down the street to their left, "Orrr, there is a hotdog stand at the near the bus station that way" she then pointed down the street in front of them. "Pick your poison" she teased leaving the decision up to him for now.

Allowing him to take the lead she switched topics back to one of the last things he had mentioned a moment ago. "So tell me, what are the new events? Unfortunately I haven't had much time recently to look up anything regarding the Olympics." It wasn't that she wasn't interested in what was going on with the games or when certain events would be showing, far from it. Rather she had just been very busy as of late with school projects corner and work, she had little time to herself and what time she did have, she much preferred to spend it with her boyfriend, Fionan assuming he was available as well.

Turning her full attention onto him as they walked side by side, she looked at him with a look of endearment. Truly happy having been given the chance to spend time with him, just him, oh how she enjoyed evenings like these.

"Alright, that sounds good." Truth be told he rather liked her baking, especially cookies. He wasn't big on baked goods but he did like his girlfriends cakes and cookies - especially the cookies. The offer of her to make cookies and bring them was something which had him nodding his head, smiling as he did so.

His own drink was an ice tea and was refilled, the same way his girlfriends was, a thank you was spoken by him as well. As Fiona took his arm he leaned in to press his lips to her temple as she spoke of where to find food. Lifting his own drink he took a sip while considering the two ideas. The hotdog stand was likely to still be open, where as the other might not be, and if the Thai truck was closed it would be a bit of a walk to the other place. Thai food was better though and sounded far more appealing. Decisions, decisions...he didn't like such decisions but he knew what he really wanted.

"I think the first is downhill snowboarding, or something like that. It's the second I think you'll enjoy - team figure skating." He said. He knew she would love that and they'd wind up seated in front of a tv watching the new event, her with wide eyes in all likelihood. "I'm not sure if they'd posted anything about the events online. I'm rather curious how team figure skating will work." After all they had normal pairs and mens and females figure skating. So how would this work? Weren't the other three teams? Maybe he should look it up online and see if they had information on it? Fiona would surely be looking it up by nights end, he had no doubt on that.

"Why don't we find that Thai truck and see if it's open. If not maybe a late night cafe or some small place to eat will be open." He offered, deciding to remove the idea of the hotdog truck altogether - why not treat Fiona to something nice if the truck failed.

Though they had been together for a while now, simple gestures of affection still made butterflies take flight and her cheeks turn a light pink. Fiona turned slate blue eyes upon her boyfriend Fionan as she couldn't help but wonder how did I ever get so lucky as to have you in my life. It was a conundrum in and of itself, but she wasn't about to go look a gift horse in the mouth. He was the best thing to happen in her life and for that she was beyond thankful.

At the mention of team figure skating, Fiona tilted her head to the side "I'm surprised that nobody has said anything about that at work! For as much as she loved figure skating it was a surprise that she seemed to be the last person to find out about this. However she couldn't help but wonder how they planned to judge the performance with more than two people to keep an eye on; it seemed like pairs would be hard enough.

With an excited look in her eyes she added "We definitely got to watch it! Unless there's another event you'd like to watch instead. We could always watch it later, Xfinity should have the events posted on OnDemand."

Fiona leaned her head to the side so it rested on Fionan's shoulder, thankful that though it was brisk outside it wasn't raining. She briefly daydreamed what it would be like to see the Olympics in person as the two of them walked down the near empty street towards the Thai Truck; a place she had only eaten on a few occasions over this last summer and had meant to bring him to if only to try their curry combos.

He knew, if asked, how it had happened. From a curious person worried over some bruises she's seen to friends and then more. It had been so cliche but true in their case. She'd worried and questioned him when she'd seen some bruises on him once, he'd had a rather rough practice the previous day, and he'd had to tell her it was from hurling practice. After that she'd had to ask him just what hurling was and he'd set about explaining it while offering, if she seriously wanted to know, to show her some videos he had at home - if she didn't mind coming home with him of course.

The friendship had blossomed from there and now here they were dating; and happy. It had come a long way and he was pleased with it, often wondering over how he'd managed to get so lucky with such a girlfriend. They may not like the same seasons, hurling was certainly not a winter sport, but they were both into sports. "I honestly don't know how they plan to do it. They might have it listed on line or we'll find out before the opening ceremony. I heard events will be kicked off the day before the openings. We could see if it's online and if they are doing anything with it the day before we can try and watch it together?" He offered as he knew she would want to see every moment of this new event, and he just wanted to see her every expression. Fiona loved the ice and skating, he really wasn't any good at it, and lite up when skating was on the tv or talked about.

"I'll watch whatever you want. I prefer the summer Olympics myself." Hurling was, unfortunately, not a pro sport nor an Olympic sport. Football, soccer here in the US, however was and he did like to watch that. This summer his family would be all insane over the FIFA World Cup which would be hosted by Rio. If it wasn't hurling, which with the Olympics it never was, it was football which his family loved - it was the Wright families second favorite sport.

While she imagined going to a winter Olympics he often though of the summer games or the All Ireland Hurling Finals, or FIFA even. But if it ever came up, somehow, he'd go with Fiona to a winter games just to see her smile and bounce around in joy and wonder. Turning to her he kissed the top of her head as she lead the way to the Thai Truck.

"The opening ceremony should be amazing. They presentation at the Vancouver games closing was very good." And the presentation was always a small taste of what would come in four years time. The Russian presentation had been lovely - a winter wonderland of sorts.

"Once we get home we can check online to see if anything has been posted. So far the two of them had been lucking enough that when they reached the curb to cross the street they had pedestrian right of way. "Truthfully if it wasn't for figure skating I don't think I'd watch the Winter Olympics. I feel like there are more interesting events to watch for the Summer ones" Plus it was always fun seeing Fionan and his family get excited watching Football - soccer.

"Though I'll admit the presentation wasn't bad, but I honestly don't think anyone will ever be able to outdo the Beijing summer opening. Now that was amazing. Saddly she had to work during part of the opening but from the clips she did see later on, it was truly amazing

Upon approaching the curb, Fiona reached out and tapped the cross walk button. Within seconds the light changed and the two of them, hand in hand crossed the intersection and hung a left. Not more than half of a block ahead of them was the Thai Truck, still parked at the corner of the grocery store parking lot.

Even though she had been nursing her lemonade throughout the movie, Fiona's stomach made it's presence known once the smell of food wafted through the air towards them. Standing in front of the laminated menu that hung on the side of the truck, with a smile spread across her face Fiona leaned over and gave Fionan a kiss on his temple "I already know what I'm going to get. Their red curry combo is amazing!" Red curry on white rice with a side of phad thai and two mini spring rolls, enough food for two meals but oh so delicious.

"I like the summer ones better, for the soccer, but I don't mind watching the snowboading in the winter. The ice skating, and dancing, is nice as well." He really had to try, and times, to remind himself to call soccer just that - soccer. His family being mostly, if not entirely, Irish and fans of European soccer called it football and it was a habit of his as well. it made sense really - you used your feet so why not call it football? But that was one of the biggest reasons to watch the summer games, although the last two summer games the swimming had been interesting as well, and gymnastics was always a thrill to watch. Yes, the summer games did offer a bit more than the winter games. Maybe he could get Fiona to watch the FIFA World Cup with him this summer, especially the US games, they were due to play Ghana, Portugal, and Germany in their grouping. He was hoping to see the US come out on top of their group. The real insanity, in his opinion anyway, was Italy and England being in the same group.

Laughing he nodded his head. "You know I think my mother might still have that opening saved on the tv. She was thrilled watching it, I mean wide eyed and amazed with it. I can see why though, I still remember a lot of it." He'd been upset that Fiona had been working for part of that opening ceremony, it had been utterly breathtaking to watch. It wasn't just due to the history lesson, which was very good, but the colors and the richness of it as well the all those people working in sync so well! That opening would be hard to top and London had not topped it; not to say their opening ceremony had been bad.

"We can check the official Olympic site when we get home. I hope they have something up on the scoring and running of the team figure skating." He hadn't checked, and he should have, before now.

Sipping from his drink as they hung that left he spied the food truck and the smell hit him; oh god it smelled so good. A glance to his girlfriend and he smiled. "Foods on me." Since it looked like it was still open. Oh did it smell good. "Do you think I should order something for my mother, she's likely to still be awake." His mother was a bit of a night owl, plus she liked to stay awake till he got home whenever he was out in the evenings. It was his way of thanking her to bring her food back most of the time; and a way to show his love for his mother.

"Alright. I think...." Moving in to look over the menu he decided on something which sounded good. "Pad see ew for myself and for mother...kua gai I think." Nodding to himself he turned to Fiona. "Order first and I'll order then." And he was going to order one of those drinks they offered...or maybe two. He'd have ordered one, since he had a drink still from the movies, and just taste his mothers when he got home with it. But on the off chance he liked it he figured two would work best. He could throw out the movie drink anyway.

Knowing not to question his generosity Fiona instead smiled sincerely at Fionan and gave him another kiss on the cheek “Thank you, I appreciate it.” Nodding her head in agreement, she then added “I think she’d appreciate it” His mother was such a sweet lady, the way she worried about her son was quite endearing and often brought a smile to Fiona’s face.

It took only a few moments for the gentleman in the truck to open the window and take their order. “Ahh, okay okay. One red curry combo, one kua gai and one pad see ew yes?” he asked seeking confirmation that he understood their order correctly.

“Yes that should be it, thank you!” Fiona replied with a nod of her head as emphasis that everything sounded right.

“Your total is 23.78.” He more or less announced with an outstretched hand to accept the money from Fionan. Change in hand he added “Should be done in 15.” before closing the window once again, leaving the two of them alone for the time being.

As there was no seating area set up at the moment with how late it was, Fiona took the opportunity to maneuver herself in front of Fionan, wrap her arms around his waist and rest her head on his shoulder for some semblance of warmth. Okay so the song from the movie wasn’t quite true to her, unless she was moving around or had more layers on, yes the cold have a tendency to bother her from time to time which is why she currently sought his warmth. “Thank you for going out with me today. It was nice get out of the house for a bit and take a break from school and work. To just have some you and me time. It truly means a lot.” Between school projects and homework assignments as well as working nearly full time at the ice rink, times like this were valued above all else; which was why she was looking forward to the Olympic opening – an excuse to spend more time with Fionan.

With money exchanged and them waiting for food he turned his attention to the blue haired girl on his arm and smiled. "We'll hurry home and eat once we get there, we'll be nice and warm." He said while holding her close to himself, she was obviously cold, running his hands up and down her back in a vigorous manner t try and warm her further. "I can call mom and have her put some hot water on so you can have a cup of hot chocolate when we get in." He offered as he leaned in to press a kiss to her forehead.

The cold might be getting to him also but it certainly seemed to be getting to Fiona, and he was determined to help her keep warm, as he maneuvered them so he could lean his back against the foot truck as he held the other to himself. "We'll be home soon...we could try and hail a cab if we see one." He offered, wanting to get her out of the cold as quickly as he could. He didn't like knowing she was cold and was looking to find a quick way to getting her warmer and getting home to eat as well; he really couldn't wait to try the food. The smells coming from inside the food truck was good - really good. Yes, he wanted to get home and get to eating quickly if he could.

"I'm glad we could both find time; with our busy schedules." With work for her and school for them both, projects, and other things it was impossible sometimes. The school they both went to was a rather busy place, with a bit of a hectic workload at times. It wasn't that he disliked his school though or the work for it, far from it, it just took away time from other things. There had been times he'd fallen asleep in a classroom before; and not during day time class hours either.

”Mmm,” she purred resting her head against his shoulder ”hot chocolate sounds good about now.” For someone who worked at the Destiny City Ice Skating Rink in downtown it was a wonder as to why the weather outside was affecting her so.

Looking up, Fiona let out a small laugh ”I guess the song doesn’t quite apply to me, at least not tonight anyway.” the cold unfortunately did bother her despite being wrapped up in her winter coat as well as a scarf. Then again they did just walk out of a warm theater into freezing winter weather, and the added wind chill definitely didn’t help matters.

Not much time had passed since the two of them had ordered their food did her kneecaps begin to bounce up and down followed by rather loud teeth chattering. Prompted by his suggestion of hailing a cab, Fiona nodded her head in agreement ”I honestly don’t think I’ll make the walk home.” she admitted. The cold was one thing, however the added wind and potential rain was something else entirely, neither of which made the prospect of walking home sound appealing in the slightest.

Snaking her arms around Fionan’s torso, she linked her fingers together behind him and began singing the Elsa song from Frozen once again ♫Let it go, let it go, And I’ll rise like the break of dawn, let it go let it go, that perfect girl is gone♫

No sooner had she just finished humming the melody did the gentleman who took their order again poke his head out of the Thai truck window. One red curry combo, one Kua Gai, and one Pad See Ew! I put napkins and forks in the bag for you. Thank you for coming.

Fiona tilted her head back enough to give Fionan a kiss on the cheek before releasing her warmth sapping hold from around his waist to retrieve the carry-out bags. ”Thank you! Hope you have a nice evening.” Accepting the warm food, she smiled politely up at the man then turned back to Fionan, linking her arm through his once again. ”Home time?” she asked with a sing-song sound to her voice despite knowing the answer already.

"Yeah, it sounds really good." He said while keeping hold of her, smiling at her gently. He really had gotten lucky when she'd agreed to date him, he'd been so damn nervous in asking his friend out. He'd thought it might ruin the friendship; by making it so awkward. Instead she'd agreed to go out with him and things had progressed into this - a relationship he was content with.

"No, no it doesn't - at least not tonight. But at work, and when your skating, I'd say it applies to you nicely." He said with a gentle, and loving, smile. Leaning in to kiss her forehead gently. As she started o shiver he undid his coat and drew her in close enough to wrap, sorta closing, his coat around her in order to lend her some more warmth. Between his coat plus his body heat he was hoping to warm Fiona a bit more. "Yes, a cab ride will be needed. The cold isn't bothering me nearly as much as you." And he felt for her. He hoped the food was done soon so he could get them both into his warm home.

The call for their food startled him and as Fiona drew back he smiled at her, touching her light blue hair softly. "Thank you as well." Smiling to the truck owner he gave a nod of his head before his arm was latched onto and he headed for the curb and to hail them a cab. "You should keep the food close to your chest - soak up some of it's heat." He said with a teasing smile flashed down at her.

Always so considerate Fiona drew the contents of the bag close and pulled warmth from it all the while shielding it from the January winter chill. "Thank you" she replied, resting her head against his shoulder.

After walking down the street for several blocks down to the main boulevard she watched as Fionan hailed a taxi cab and waited patiently for it to pull over. "Do we need to swing by and pick anything up before we get to your house?" Beverages or snacks for the rest of his family who'd be watching the game would be nice and the convenience store wasn't too far away from his home that they couldn't just walk the rest of the way.
