"What the hell are you doing?" Alfheim had been out on patrol when he was hit with a massive wave of energy and aura that could only belong to one specific source.
The mirror aura lacking Chaos was not exactly a common feature in the current landscape of Destiny City. You were either Dark Mirror and corrupted, or you didn't have that particular flavor of aura. Or you were Zirconia.
So the fact she was just lazying around on a picnic table in the energy leaking cat lady form was something of a worry to the knight. "Seriously, don't you think that's just a little dangerous?"
It was the form Zia used the most when she was out looking for indexable individuals. Not really falling in on either side of the war, the misplaced parallel universe cat didn't see too much reason to fear any one side over the other, except when the more mind bent of Chaos got violent with others that didn't belong to their faction or held grudges.
The girl with cat ears on her head turned to look at the knight and groaned as she dramatically flopped on the table.
"Go away, you're already in my index."
And just kept the energy beacon going.

If one were to ask what Ashur had been doing up a tree, he'd refuse to answer. Not because he was embarrassed or anything, but simply because he didn't...actually have a reason. He was just up there, and at present staring at a bird while he killed some time trying to perfect some kind of a balancing act. Another night out on patrol, another reason to screw around in costume. Another opportunity to ignore his real responsibilities -- bonus. So there he was, his arms out as he tried to walk along a rather thick branch.
Until, of course, he felt some immense energy signal give him a crazy mental slap, and he lost all concentration to balance and fell out of said tree.
"Son of a--!"
He was cut off when he landed, nearly head first, with a loud and unceremonious thud. The Page was suddenly too busy lying on the ground with the wind knocked out of him to bother finishing the mild obscenity, never mind notice the oddly dressed individuals across the way. He'd probably have a bruise where he landed...and maybe even a broken bone. Or ten. Then again, maybe not and his brain was just exaggerating things. As it did these days, he found, but never mind that.
A grunt and a groan later, Ash was sitting up with a clearly pained look set across his features. Not just from the fall, but partly from the obnoxiously loud blip going off in his mental radar. Cerulean blues were narrowed as the Page scanned the immediate area for signs of...anyone...in hopes of finding the source.

For being two adults in a war full of children and teenagers, the squire and the cat-girl certainly weren't proving themselves as they stood in the park and bickered.
Zia was trying to work on her project, however, Alfheim felt he had fairly legitimate reasons for being concerned about the way she was going about it. Mostly because he didn't want every youma in a mile radius swarming them.
The argument seemed to distract them both from sensing the page before Ashur came into physical view behind Alfheim, which meant Zia stopped him first and quickly cut off the fighting by raising one arm in greeting and a loud, "Hello!"
Suddenly she was all smiles at the new face present.
Alfheim, less so. He actually whirled around, panicked they'd been found by something more unsavory before he realized the order signature and saw a knight standing there. "Oh..."

And he did, quite nearby even. Actually they were right in front him, more or less.
A curious brow was raised at the girl that had waved at him, but he wasn't so rude as to let such an energetic greeting go unanswered. Ash gave a wave of his own before slowly approaching, his eyes wandering between the girl and the older guy she was with. He actually had to focus to realize that his was an order signature, mostly because his brain was more trying to process what the deal was with the beacon coming from the girl.
"Evening," came a rather calm greeting despite the questions that started forming. They were mostly concerning energy signals and what the deal was with being able to read them and how he'd better distinguish one from another, etc. That is until his eyes caught the cat ears and tail on the girl, which morphed his expression into one of confusion and curiosity. His mouth didn't really wait for his brain, as it normally never did when he found something that interested him, and the page plowed right into his first question.
While pointing at his head, he asked, "Those real?"Carneli Actually wasn't sure if she had cat ears or not, so if I need to change anything please tell me! o:

Cautiousness seemed to be the word of the day as the two figures in the park regarded the page with silent anticipation of the tone to be set of this meeting. A certain blankness seemed to emanate between him as both sets of eyes watched in the moment between his approach and when he spoke.
And suddenly they both seemed to animate back to life again as the cat girl perked up with a grin and the squire rolled his eyes with a 'here we go' groan.
"Yes!" She chirped with rehearsed enthusiasm and bounced forward to close the distance and reach out an arm in an invitation to shake his hand. "Hello! I am Zirconia, guardian cat of the Black Moon and I am working on a secret guardian cat project and would like to chat with you."
Very business like, very to the point, she was very proud.
Until Alfheim butt in, "She's also going to attract every youma on this side of the city if she doesn't turn the beacon off."

Her enthusiasm was almost infectious, and Ashur's mouth began to set into a smile as she introduced herself with more energy than he thought necessary. It was nice to see someone so happy for whatever reason, though, so he took her hand and shook it briefly, and replied with his own introduction. "Ashur, of Uranus," were the only words that tumbled out, though he followed up to answer her question properly. "Um, I guess as long as it doesn't involve probing or anything invasive then I've got time to chat." He wasn't really sure what to make of the "guardian cat" and whatever this "Black Moon" was supposed to be, but overall an interview seemed harmless enough...
Plus she had cat ears. Come on. A certain individual's voice came creeping into his subconscious, which brightened his mood just a smidge.
"Don't suppose you're some kind of alien, are you? Y'know, since you've got..." He trailed off as the knight that she was with spoke up.
Which brought up his other question, and he turned his attention back to the cat-eared girl. "Right, that signal seriously caught me off-guard." He jabbed a thumb over at the tree he'd fallen out of, frowning ever so slightly. "Why I fell out of that tree, actually. What gives?"

"Oh, well," She glanced up as if she could see her alien features and her ears twitched on the top of her head for a moment in spite of physical limitations like her eyes being lodged in her skull and whatnot. Even the deep purple crescent on her forehead stood out.
"Yes, I'm a Mauvian. But better known as guardian cats. When we're in this form our auras give off massive amounts of energy," She explained, and then shifted down to a full feline, fluffy fur coat and all, and the aura vanished. "See?"
This way she was totally just explaining and not giving in to the anxious Earth squire who wanted that massive 'come eat me' energy flare gone before youma swarmed the place.
Still, much to Alfheim's relief, when she shifted back up to one of her bipedal humanoid forms, is was as a civilian in streetwear and not an alien cat lady.
"Uranus? I haven't seen one of those before," Alfheim said with a grin and held out his hand in greeting. "I'm Alfheim of Ear--"
"I've seen one before," Zia cut in. She clearly wanted his attention and wasn't about to let the other one steal it, much to his visible annoyance. "What's your weapon? Because his was really silly."

Her explanation didn't do much for him, though he had met a talking cat before. He just...didn't expect that talking cat also meant that they had a humanoid form they could transform into. So the sight of Zia suddenly turning into a cat did a good job of shutting Ashur up for a second, his face going from clueless to scared to confused to freaked out and basically everything else in between as he sputtered to try and find words.
"Uh.. wha--...? Um.. you jus--. And then the g--. Then.. a ca--...!"
Blue eyes flashed to meet the other knight's briefly before he went back to staring at Zia as a cat, his eye twitching when she asked "see" and he was briefly able to notice that the energy reading was now, in fact, gone. Which just led to his mouth staying agape as he blinked down at the feline form that was talking to him. And then, as if that wasn't enough, when she changed back he noted the distinct lack of cat ears. She looked...human, more human than earlier.
Flabbergasted was probably the right word for how he was feeling right then.
The other knight, however, seemed perfectly alright. It was probably a good thing that he was there since, at his voice, Ashur was finally able to tear his eyes away from the girl that now stood where the cat had been and settle them on the fellow knight. He gave his head a shake to clear his thoughts and find his words again, and he took the hand that Alfheim extended, even managing a small smile while he was at it. The introduction, however, was interrupted before the man could finish, and Ashur's attention was back on her. Though he still held Alfheim's hand.
"My...weapon?" Yes! Words! Much to his relief. Unfortunately that was all that came out for another second or two before he realized that she'd actually asked him a question. "Right! My weapon, yeah. Uh, I've got...sticks?" Normally he would have jumped at the idea of someone having a sillier weapon than his, but dammit this cat-woman-alien-with-ears-but-without-them was doing a pretty good job of keeping his attention on...well, her.Carneli Sorry if the post is a bit rambly. XD; And now I'm not sure if she has cat ears still or not, so tell me if I need to fix anything~ ^^

Alfheim was well aware the alien cat-girl was not only demanding attention, but could hold it with magical shows and energy flares and shapeshifting he couldn't compete with and quite frankly it made him roll his eyes. Roll his eyes dramatically and thank heaven that there were no mirrors around.
Otherwise he was sure she'd show off further to have more reasons to interrupt him.
He took to keeping his arms crossed, watching her bounce and nod and reach over to pet the stammering knight's hair with a wry half smirk. "Are you done?"
He had no response, because Zia was invasively touching Ashur's hair and cooing, "Shhh, it's normal alien bullshit," to the page, and so she was much too distracted to respond to such an obvious question.
Alfheim rolled his eyes again. He just had to. But she was his obnoxious little sister so he felt like he had an endless amount of justification to find her actions eye roll worthy.
"Sticks aren't bad for a page weapon," He tried to reassure the other knight with a smile. "When you upgrade it'll probably evolve into something more useful. Most weapons do, or get useful magic." Which brought him to his next point, needing to refute Zia's claim over his own weapon.
"Which, mine is only a little stupid, okay, but it has really useful magic."_ p a o cx Nope, her massively confusing form shift ended as a civilian xD; I'm sorry she's so confusing!

The cooing and comfort he was getting from the now-human Zia got the page blinking a bit, then he heaved a sigh and closed his eyes. Just to focus a little better. And he opened them after a second, though they were immediately on Zia again. There was a certain level of uncertainty in the look on his face, but from the looks of it that was probably (hopefully?) the extent of her transformations and he wouldn't be stuck stammering for the next two minutes. Again. "Alien bullshit, huh?" Ashur finally managed, a small smirk tugging up the corners of his mouth, his thoughts flashing briefly to the same friend that he'd thought of earlier.
"It's pretty wicked, if you ask me. A little..." and he made a face, glancing over at the other knight as he did. "Confusing? That might be the right word...but anyway. I think it's freakin' awesome."
Alfheim's comment seemed to lighten his mood even further, and he pulled out the sticks in question to show the both of them. "Think so? I mostly use 'em to drum on things when I get bored. Or poke things or..." That likely painted a good enough picture of the kinds of things he did while in uniform, so Ash cleared his throat and regrouped. "Someone else told me the same thing, so here's hoping that's actually the case."
But he couldn't help but be curious about Alfheim's "stupid" weapon, so he had to ask, amused smile and all. "Why, what was it before?"Carneli I actually find her fascinating. |D; I was really confused the first time I read through her profile; still kind of am, to be honest. lol What is she exactly?

Ashur's reaction brought smug smirks from Zia that were mostly redirected at the earth knight, but she maintained her close occupation of his personal space.
"Yeah, it's pretty awesome. I'm an endangered species, you know. You won't find and were-cat-girls running wild in these parts. And I can walk through mirrors."
"Stop showing off," Alfheim didn't sound especially bitter, but his tone had the distinct, exhausted tone of an older sibling faced with their annoying kid sister. Which was essentially exactly what was happening here. He was a lot 'brighter', almost, when he address Ashur instead.
"Oh, uh," He held up his bottle and shrugged. "A smaller bottle?" Before it had been a small, corked phial and now it was the size of a wine bottle. That was good enough for him. "I've seen knights get more useful combat weapons, but this one is pretty much just for magic, I think. Watch..."
He popped the cork and suddenly fog gushed out of it at a rapid pace, engulfing all three of them in a blinding, freezing cold cloud.
"See?"
"Oh my god put that away. I'm the one asking for attention?" Zia complained and flailed. One hand squished at Ashur's cheek to find out where he was standing before she flailed towards where Alfheim was standing, jerking the bottle from his hands and allowing the cloud to start dispersing.

"Endangered, huh?" The picture of a girl walking through mirrors both amazed him and freaked him out, but Ashur kept the urge to ask for a demonstration down and shot a glance between the two as they briefly exchanged words. Alfheim's tone got a smirk out of him; it sounded a bit familiar, though in his case it was when his mother was acting as the middle-woman between him and his father.
As soon as the bottle in question was in view, Ashur took a step closer to get a better look. "Ooh," was all that came out. An "aah" followed when the other knight popped the cork and suddenly he was in a thick, hard-to-see-in cloud of fog or something. And he was cold. But! A smile was spread wide on his face.
"That's cool, dude!" the Page said rather enthusiastically, then caught himself and quickly added, "No pun inte--" Zia's hand smushing into his face kept him from finishing, but her whiny tone of voice got a laugh out of him. He waved at the fog to try and get some of it out of the way (yeah, 'cause that'd actually work even with normal fog) so he could see where she was, but was almost disappointed when, for whatever reason, it started thinning out. Eventually, once it was clear and he could see again, he blinked over at Alheim. Then at Zia, who was now holding a corked bottle.
"So..." he put two and two together and regarded the other knight, "cork it and it stops. Makes sense. You ever drop it, though? I mean it looks like glass.. does it break like it or is it magicked up in a way that keeps it from breaking?"

"Nah, it doesn't break," Alfheim said, keeping a casual and laid back stance as he shrugged. But when he moved quickly to grab his bottle back from Zia, it seemed like it was mostly just to keep her guard down until he could snatch it.
And once it was in his hands he held it up out of her reach.
Zia only grabbed for it back twice before she realized it was silly to try and crossed her arms, shifting her weight to one hip and then the other.
"I mean I've tried. I hit people with it when I'm in a pinch. It cracked once but hasn't broken."
"All it's good for is running away," Zia chimed in, "And he's not smart enough to figure out when to do that on his own." It was a jab towards the fight he had barely survived with Chariklo if she hadn't arrived to pull him through a mirror and out of trouble.
They still hadn't resolved that fight between the two of them.
"But anyway, I'm sure sticks will evolve into something much more useful!" She finished after that awkward segue where they were both quiet.

Ash couldn't help but feel like he was watching an older brother picking on his little sister when he watched him hold the bottle out of her reach. Her reaction after the failed attempts to retrieve the bottle was amusing, at least, and he nodded a little as Alfheim answered his question. "Neat. Is the crack still there?" he went right on with the questioning just before Zia spoke up again. "Or is it like our uniforms when we power down and back up again?"
Soon enough Zia's comment had him forming an "o" with his mouth as he realized the use of that sort of magic. The part about the other knight's "smarts" he left hanging in the air though, feeling a bit of the awkward when the three of them suddenly went silent. Thankfully she managed to save the conversation with a positive point about his sticks, which got him to smile a little and scratch at his head.
"The only thing I can think of is bigger sticks, but honestly as long as they get better I don't really care what they turn into."

“Nope, it’s good as new,” Alfheim said with a nod. “Even if the charms get ripped off or fall off they’re back again, so… I guess it is like the uniforms.” Although he hadn’t ever really given it a lot of thought until now. It would definitely give him more confidence when it came to throwing the thing at people’s heads later. He learned something new today!
“Or maybe they’ll be magic sticks,” Zia said, followed by an ‘oooOOOOoooOOoo’ sound as she raised her hands and wiggled her fingers.
“Seriously, you guys are magical beings; There are perks to that. Hey, have you been to your wonder?” Part of her was aching to know what Uranus was like after so many trips to earthly and Saturn wonders.
