User ImageHarveer stretched, enjoying his time out without a companion. He missed his gardens, but The Guardians had tasked him with something very important and there was no time to loose. The only reason he was out now was simply because they were taking a break. His friend Rosette had come along with him, and was going to go in search of more relics of protection when he left again. But first, Harveer just wanted a peaceful moment to himself. Or perhaps the chance to spread the word of the Guardians.

He yawned, wondering if there was a good spot to nap somewhere near here. The teenager hadn't given himself much time to spend on just him, there was still so much to do. He only had a few hints of where to look to find these things. He'd managed to obtain a shell and something else he wasn't quite sure of. But it was still something. It was the protection he was asked to acquire. And now? Now he would go out in search of another set of heretics, as well as off in search of whatever the remaining item was.

It was contemplating these things that Harveer found himself utterly lost. The nagel had no idea how he'd managed to do it, or even where he'd gotten himself lost at. All he knew was it was in the middle of an unfamiliar area. He cursed to himself a little, kicking at the ground.

"How could I manage to get lost like this?" He grumbled, trying to figure this out. He was loud enough he'd likely scare any nearby animals into thinking he was a predator.

Another day, another walk. As before, there was little real reason to be walking alone in such cold as continued to persist in the air, but staying under a small roof with his extended family was proving to be quite more stifling that he would have ever thought.

Not that he would ever tell them that.

Oh no, he'd learned a long time ago that he was better off trying to express himself without speaking. He was pretty damn useless when it came to saying a coherent sentence. Without talking, however, there wasn't really anything left he could do but make strange, crude gestures at the hopes that anyone might get anything from it. By this point though, well, he'd just stopped trying anymore. His family had tried to get through to him at first, but over time they, too, had stopped.

It was very lonely this way, but it was better this way. Easier this way.

Perhaps if there was a way for people with the inability to speak to do such a thing... Eh, that would be silly, wouldn't it? A way to express oneself without words? Nonsense.

He turned his head as he caught the sounds of someone else in the forest, lost, by the sounds of it. Turning to run in the direction, Malek came to a stop as soon as the other teenager came into view.

What should he do? Would he be of any use? With a such a stupidly-made body, that was unlikely as anything. Still... It wasn't as if he could simply turn and walk away, right? If he was lucky, well, maybe the other guy would be able to understand the gestures. If that didn't work... Well... Maybe he could try... No, no he could not talk, would not talk, and if the other guy didn't understand, well, too bad for him!

Coming closer, he made sure to ruffle some bushes to give the other guy a heads up to his presence and gave him a light wave as he made eye contact.

Harveer was busy grumbling to himself when the bushes started rustling. The squire was quick to jump into a defensive stance, looking straight at the bush, senses on alert. If the bush was rustling there was something in it, regardless of what it was, he wasn't going to take the chance of it being a tainted creature that was trying to get the jump on him. Or worse yet, a heathen trying to preach to him about the elements!

When another teenager stepped out, Harveer relaxed his guard. Only slightly. Who was to say there wasn't something dangerous out there still lurking. Golden eyes narrowed slightly, as if trying to sense if this pae was tainted or not. "Hello?" He called, voice friendly and kind. It was a large contradiction from his posture. Quite hilarious to an onlooker, if they had the sense of humor for it.

"How long have you been in those bushes?" inquired the squire, wondering just how badly he'd let his guard drop.

Malek visibly jumped as the other male quickly moved, not having been aware that there were pae whom could move with such speed. And by his stance... well... perhaps trying to help him out had been a bad idea.

Hands lowering to hold themselves as a friendlier than expected voice called to him, his eyes looked away as he tried to think about his next move. Would it be too soon to try and explain? How would he even go about trying to explain his intentions anyways? Surely it would be taken the wrong way, it was always taken the wrong way!

Eventually, he simply settled on waving again, a very hesitant smile plastered to his face.

By the Guardian's graces, this was so very awkward.

Looking to the bushes, Malek blinked before returning his glance to the squire, his head shaking and his arms flailing in front of him in a 'no way' sort of manner.

Harveer relaxed a bit more, seeing the other unarmed and clearly scared speechless. Maybe it was all the time he'd been spending with the gorgeous lady he'd been traveling with, or was it just that he expected pae to be shocked at seeing one of the squires out and about? That couldn't be it right now, there was no real way of them knowing who the squires were right now. Well, aside from their eyes. Lots of imitations out there, but none quite like it.

"I'm sorry to have scared you. There are too many tainted things out there. Too many heathens lurking in the woods." Harveer frowned, keeping his muscles tense while he seemed to relax. He wasn't going to release his guard any time soon, not after being spooked like that. The squire was quite glad he usually had a partner when he went out, realizing too late that he'd gotten lazy because of this. It was a bad move. He'd have to train himself back into the habit of never letting his guard down again.

"Is it just you out here?" The squire tilted his head, not hearing anyone or thing else behind the strangely winged teen.

Tainted? Heathen? What did he mean by such strange, unfamiliar words? He couldn't remember his parents saying anything along similar lines, so what could these things possibly mean. Why would he have any reason to use them?

Not that he could really ask...

Maybe he should just leave right now? All this was going to lead to was more pointless, one-sided conversation. It tended to anger people at times, especially since there was no real way to communicate. Gestured could only do so well. Too bad he didn't seem to have an opportunity to leave. Looking behind him for a moment to see if either of his brothers had followed, he looked back before shrugging and nodding his head. As far as he understood, they were alone.

Harveer nodded, smiling a little. Clearly the other teen was confused. He must not have been to the floating city any time in the recent past. But then, Harveer himself could hardly believe he'd been outside the city so frequently in the last season. Sure, the cold was biting, utterly brutal, but Harveer still wanted to go and spread the word of the guardians. It was part of his task. Everyone needed to know about how good they were.

"Not much of a talker are you?" The angel's small smile turned into a grin. He couldn't tell the other was uncomfortable, but it didn't seem to matter too much to him. At least not right now. There was too much to be done. Even on a break Harveer couldn't just take a break.

There they went again, pointing out the obviousness of his silence. Sighing, the teen couldn't help but look a bit disappointed and frustrated. Yes. He wasn't much of a talker. He would never be much of a talkier. Ever. Even so, he gave what he hoped was a soft smile (though it make have come off more so as sarcastic) and shrugged.

"Ah well, no matter." Harveer smiled. "The Guardians wouldn't have you any other way than how you are." He was entirely accepting of the other, there was no way he wouldn't be. The Guardians loved all the pae equally, even if the heathens wanted to worship their elements instead of the truth of The Guardians.

The teen bowed lightly. "I'm Harveer, squire of the light." He introduced himself, not expecting anything in return. Since the other wasn't talking, Harveer decided just to be friendly.

Tilting his head, Malek started to try and dissect this other's intentions. The Guardians? Weren't they the magical beings whom his parents sometimes spoke about in fairy tales and whom had apparently given him a power? What this power was, apparently only they knew, but he had gotten a little buddy.

Speaking of which... Where was she?

A small finger poked at the back of his neck before the mellon stuck out her head and placed a hand softly on his cheek. 'Fret not, Malek, I am here. I am always here. Even if you cannot see nor hear me.' She smiled 'I am your shadow, after all.'

Looking ahead at the pae in front of him, she seemed to grow tense before she spoke to his mind again. 'Who... is this...?'

'You heard him yourself if you've been there, haven't you? His name is Harveer, a squire or something. He seems to be hiding from some tainted heathens or something. I don't really get it.' A pause. 'Hey... Do you think I can listen to him? I don't really understand what's going on...'

'I... cannot say. I do not know what a squire is or might be. His tone, however, sounds sincere. I would consider what he says to likely be true, even if they make little sense now.'

"If you say so...' Looking back to Harveer, Malek smiled a bit more earnestly this time and waved his hand before bowing in return.

Harveer smiled, noticing the change in the other. He briefly wondered what happened, but put no stock into it. Perhaps it was just the other teen being friendly.

"I know our conversation is a little one sided, but have you heard of The Guardians?" He asked, curious. Harveer wished to see everyone protected by Their good graces and Their kind hearts. "If not perhaps you would like to learn of them?"
PostPosted: Wed Jan 29, 2014 9:31 am

No duh it was one-sided. Malek couldn't exactly talk, so it was only going to be one-sided. The Guardians? Was that what this all was about? Why this guy was walking around, saying weird things? The Guardians.

Well, yes, he had heard of them; he had gone through the powers ceremony. 'Isn't that right?' That's why he finally had a friend he could talk to.

So to this he nodded. To the second part, he paused lightly before shrugging. There had never really been much of a reason for him to learn of some other beings doing their own thing when they weren't giving random pae random powers. Didn't really affect him, right?

"They're wonderous beings, they are the reason we are here." He nodded, knowing this to be true. Believing it above anything else. "It is by their grace and will that we are at peace right now." Harveer grinned, "And they have asked all their followers to find several items. Things of protection." The pale teen lit up, loving talking about Them. They were his favorite subject. But then, if it weren't for Them, he wouldn't be who he was today.

"They are kind, benevolent beings. They love all who believe in them." Another smiling nod. "Have you received your power yet? For it is them who grant you the ability."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 29, 2014 1:20 pm

So... They're the reason he's here, huh? They're the reason he's so broken, huh? Malek's expression was growing increasingly cold as he heard the preaching, likely to the other's displeasure. How could such wondering beings, such kind beings, benevolent beings... how could they do such horrible things to their own followers?

Hah... Ha ha ha... Heh... heh... How cruel.

If only this other angel could understand, if he could know the confusion and the pain in his heart. Maybe, then, he might stop saying such things. It wasn't his fault he was like this; wasn't his parents... it was theirs.

His (blasphemous) thoughts cut off as he was asked about his power. Power... He'd gone through the ceremony. Feeling a soft hand on his neck, he asked to the mellon, 'Hey... Do I have a power? I haven't felt anything new.'

Pausing quietly first, the mellon answered, 'Yes... You have a power, but... well... it is a bit... hard... to explain and teach. I've been trying to figure out just how to go about that before I was going to start.'

'But, yes... You do have a power.'

Staring at the angel, he merely gave a shrug. If he didn't know how to use some apparent power he had, why bother calling it a power at all?

Harveer noticed the cold glare he was receiving from the other. It made him worry about the darker teenager. Everyone should love the Guardians. "Perhaps they could fix your voice if you asked them to?" He offered, not sure why the other wasn't able to talk.

"They've done so much and ask for so very little. They even offer protection to their followers when trying times are ahead." Harveer placed a pale hand over a paler chest. "There is so much to learn about them, but all you need know is within you." His eyes closed, a smile playing at his lips. "All within your heart." He truly loved Them. They were, after all, his reason for being.
