Nevada grinned as another dummy went down, Leroy applauding her...as much as a weapon could, for another successful defeat of a inanimate object.
"I'm boreeeeeeeeeeeeeeed." and everyone was still tripping on the sensitivity high or whatever.
Her eyes landed on a familiar dyed teal head and she flounced her way over to him. "Jakeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee." She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and smile. "Wanna play?"

Though he was no longer suffering from immense guilt and shame, he still felt bad about dragging Sherry into something she had absolutely no interest in partaking in (not to mention putting her in danger... yet again), as well as pretty much cry like a little boy and make a complete fool of himself.
And so he was currently brooding, wondering how exactly he could PROPERLY apologize to her when he was suddenly assaulted by an overly-eager mist hunter.

Nevada returned his no with a "yes!" and then rubbed her cheek against his fondly. So grumpy, so prickly. Oh how she adored messing with him.
"Wanna spar and you can tell me about all your feels?" She teased.

"You know you speak out loud when you're internalizing with your weapon right? Haven't done that since I was a trainee trainee...." She giggled and then let him go, patting his back and setting up in a defensive position.
"So...that whole meeting...Sherry didn't look so happy." She gave him a coy smile..."There a reason you upsetting one of my good friends....again Jake?"
She wasn't going to go easy on you Jake, no she wasn't.

Jake flustered. Had he? It felt like forever since he had talked to Chester again, and he knew it had taken him a while at first to get used to the whole "talking telepathically" thing but-
He was going to summon his weapon, but when Nevada mentioned Sherry, he froze.
"I, um.""I nearly got her killed.""...again."

"You...What?" Nevada couldn't hear you Jake...She fired a warning shot, drawing her weapon quickly and giving him a very sardonic smile.

Jake flinched as she fired, taking a step back.
With a sigh, he raised his arms reluctantly, pulling them into a fighting stance as he summoned his weapons. Even now, they still felt kind of odd, having them on his arms instead of holding them.
"I asked her to come along on a mission, and... things didn't go as planned. We were... supposed to infiltrate a horsemen base..."
He kept his arms in front of him, in case Nevada decided she wanted to put a bullet through him. Or three.

More importantly why did you take Sherry who was a little life hunter into a horseman camp, Jake what were you thinking, aren't you a death hunter.
SO MUCH JUDGING FROM NEVADA ON HER SIDE.
Also she shot at him again, spraying bullets around his FEAR shield with some hitting.
"And if you lie, I will shoot you where it matters." She dropped her eye down Jake, yes she did.

OBVIOUSLY Jake wasn't a very good death hunter, or, well, a good hunter at all.
He winced as the bullets hit his FEAR shield.
IT'S BEEN A WHILE.
"Even if I lie, you'd find out the truth from Sherry anyways."
... he hoped she meant his chest.

"I'm looking at your member Jake, I will shoot if off and save Sherry some more trouble." She narrowed an eye before relaxing a little more.
"Everyone gets caught on missions. Hell, me and Stormy got caught and almost got beaten by the police. Is she okay now?" She hadn't had time to look Sherry over at the meeting, dealing with the Otto soul.

He wasn't sure how he felt about being castrated. Just to be safe though, he moved his arm a little lower.
"Please. I may have hurt her emotionally, but I'd never dream of hurting her physically."
At least, he was pretty sure he hadn't...
... beaten by the police?
Regardless, it was probably better than being beaten up by horsemen.
"I'm not sure. Both her hands were pierced and she lost a rib, but she seems to be recovering just fine. As for the horseman..."
To be honest, he wasn't quite sure.
It really seemed that no matter what, those things never did stay quite dead.

"Somehow that statement seems wrong..." She rolled her eye at him in return. "You'd hurt her emotionally but not physically?" Physically at least you can recover from. At least she thought so....
"She lost a rib?!!?" Oh my god, She was going to visit Sherry...After she gave Jake a good a** kicking. "I can't believe you put her in so much trouble Jake!" She hissed and rubbed her face.

Ok, well, maybe that was kinda a lie, but it was only so she wouldn't get hurt physically, but obviously his plan backfired, and, well, he was a complete idiot.

And this was why he wanted to wallow in his own feels and failures. GOD was that so much to ask for?

I thought you were supposed to prevent that.

Chester, however, didn't like the idea of holes in his hunter, despite agreeing with Nevada for the most part, and so as the runes on his weapons flickered, a thin translucent membrane shimmered over Jake's FEAR sheild, indicating an added defense.

Nevada was totally done with words with you Jake. Totally done.
"I am going to shoot you, Don't you rush me young man." She hissed and set her gun up, "Real tired of you selfless people and trying not to hurt the ones you care about." She rolled her eye again, thinking of Eva.
Sometimes she wondered if people understood how lucky they were to have people legit love them.
She brought her gun up, hands shaking a little. The last time she charged her weapon and attacked, it had scarred Stormy. It had been too long since a spar where she used it...
The fear of hitting Jake and actually hurting him like her best friend made her hand falter, sending the laser beam from her gun spinning off to the side of Jake's fear shield, missing him completely.
She made a sound of disgust and then sighed.
"So Jake, I ask you again, and this time I want a real answer but...What are you going to do about Sherry? You can't keep pushing her away because it's not working...."
