It was a new fresh spring day in the valley, the air was crisp, dew clung to anything it could. Green was everywhere, it was most definitely the majority of the colour that covered the land. Tho when you took a second glance you would notice yellow and red tulips, daffodils, song birds, bunnies, a fox stocking a frog in a babbling brook. Not to far away from that a orange haired mare danced to the music it all created. She popped, locked, and shimmied all over the place, lost in her own world some of the birds stopped to stare in near by bushes. The mare wished that they'd join in, it was always more fun when other joined in.

The flowering field seemed at odds with Jin's mood. It was bright and jovial, while he stood dark and brooding, reminiscing of the war the Great Kalona herd had brought with it, and the part he played. When he had first come to the Kawani lands, he had been adamant against any form of fighting at all, which had almost led to the death of his friend Goatee when he chose to do nothing rather than defend. He'd learned the difference between fighting and self-defense then, and had promised he would only lock horns and battle if no other option remained. But during the incident with the Kalona, he had grown violent – bloodthirsty, even – and he wondered when exactly he had changed so much.
He could not dwell on such thoughts for long. The sound of hooves beating against the grass could be heard. It didn't seem particularly angry, but he couldn't fathom the reason for causing such a noise. With ears laid back and legs ready to run – whether it be to fight or flee – he went to inspect the sound. And when he saw it was only a dancing mare, he couldn't help but smile.

Pumpkin had long lost herself in the rhythm of her hooves and the beat in her head. She shimmied and shook, kicking dust and dirt up everywhere. Alone in her world she was free to do as she pleased so she danced like no one was watching.
She rend and did a half turn when she opened her orange hues she saw that the birds where not the only ones watching. There was a smile on his face, wonderful, he was friendly or so was her thought process because the thought that someone would be laughing at her would never have crossed her mind. With out missing a beat she had slid her way closer to him, her eyes where wide and bright as was her smile, they begged him to join her. She didn't know him and that didn't matter, this was dancing, one of the best way to just let go and express yourself.

((And he's out of touch with his children and their mothers. 8D )-b))
The mare's rhythmic steps sent dust and petals aloft, but they did not dirty her. The sun struck them instead, so that they seemed to glow and thrum through the air like things alive, fading in and out of sight like fairies.
A greeting was offered in the waving of his tail, but then his ears slipped back in apology when he saw the request in her eyes. "I don't dance, miss," he said, accompanying the words with a backwards step. Though other seemed fond of flying, he preferred the feel of earth beneath his hooves, and was hard-pressed to jump as well. Dancing wasn't jumping, but it was close enough.

Ryuukishin Aww poor babe, he's so lonely seeming D8 That was no good, no good at all! To say you don't dance is to say that you don't breath or like having fun, or that you're just a big grump. It was all the same to Pumpkin. She refused to give up that easily, she had to try just a little bit more, dancing was freedom. Freedom to be ones self, fully and unconditionally.
Her ears and tail flicked as she moved swiftly closer to his side. As she passed him she hip bumped his rump and swiveled, ending up on his other side facing the same direction. The mare tilted her hear so just one eye looked upon his face. "Everyone dances, you just have to let yourself be free." She trotted away from him only to rear, spin and land facing him. She smiled coyly at the stallion. Pumpkin didn't know hardships and knew no reason way anyone couldn't be free to be themselves.

((He has a goat friend. :D))
“Do they?” It was good to see another so at peace with the world, like a breath of fresh air. He remembered his children and their mothers, foaming tides at the beach and warm rays in the field, and the contentment that had filled him then. A part of him wondered if it was all meant to be temporary, if the trials of growth and living came with it a certainty of a jaded view, if his daughters and sons would inevitably go through an experience that would break them, and if the mare was nothing more than naive – if he had been nothing more than naive when he’d first set out to wander the lands and see all it had to offer.
You were. But you’ve changed. Adapted. If the good moments are temporary, then the bad ones must be, too.
“I suppose I have no choice, then, do I?” There was a twinkle in his eye when he joined her. He had not lied when he said he’d never danced; his actions now were little more than a shamble and a bend of the knees. But it was a start.
