Layton was on her way to school. Unlike most students that attended HITS, the school was within walking distance for the twin-braided girl. She wasn't late- on the contrary she was actually an hour early. You could never be too prepared!
It was a lovely day, thankfully. No rain clouds (yet) and no youma or negaverse sightings (yet). Layton was still pretty jarred from her run in with Nysa. She was just glad the elder knight had saved her in time. She really didn't want to start her day out being injured. Either way, Layton was swearing off knighthood for a tiny bit longer.
Actually, she was going early to talk to the teacher about not making her speak in front of everyone for her project- as per Keren's suggestion. She just hoped the teacher would be understanding about it.
Despite it being somewhat early, Layton was ready to face the world. Nothing was going to stop her!
... Maybe.

Sheena was out and about in the early hours of the morning where not many were around and she could wonder about without the fear that a human might step on her or take her to a place one man in uniform referred to as an animal shelter, not that he wasn't easily escaped. She didn't realize why he honestly thought she go into the box with a odd smelling pate of what he had the gull to call food.
She shook her head and continued on coming close to a school, one of the many in Destiny City. She knew that her chibi senshi went to a school, but she was sure it wasn't this one. She was certain Maia also went to a school as well as Hannah, though she wasn't sure if it was this one.
She was sorely tempted to find out, but she didn't think it was a good idea to attempt to waltz into a school. She doubted that the school would be any different from any other place that chased any form of animal out. It was quite frankly rather insulting.

Layton pushed through the front door of the school, keen on heading straight to the library for some pre-class-studying. It wasn't going to be anything she'd focus on for too long, but it was still going to be hard work.
That was all derailed when she saw a little kitty.
Layton immediately shuffled up to the tiny cat, walking slowly so as to not scare it. There was nothing that made her feel worse than scaring animals- even worse was accidentally stepping on their tails.
"Hello there little kitty ..." she cooed, "Are you lost?"

Sheena raised an eyebrow at Layton. She wasn't lost, though it seemed to be a common question that came of the mouths of humans. She almost told her now she was lost but stopped herself, still she shook her head now before she even realized making herself from.
She went to the girl rubbing up against her leg before sitting and looking at her expectantly. Of course she wanted to be picked up and cuddled and then maybe this girl would be a taxi into the school or at least she could hide in her bag maybe without her realizing it.
She grinned thinking to herself, and probably looking a little to proud of herself.

Layton cooed an audible, "Awwww," at the kitten's actions, bending down to pet it. Such a cute cat!
Oh! But she had school. "I'm sorry I can't stay longer little kitty. Maybe I'll come back here after school? We can play then!" Unfortunately for Sheena, Layon knew better than to just pick up random strangers' cats.
She did, however, keep petting for a little while longer. If only because petting a cat was a million times better than facing her peers at school.

Sheena was quite happy to be petted and happy turn her head for better access and better scratched. The girl seemed to be eating her cuteness up, she was cute and she knew it. That however didn't seem to be enough to get the girl to pick her up which made her frown and sigh at the girl. Yes, frown and sigh.
Not only that she wasn't going to be here after school, she could wait around but her time would be better spent at the headquarters exploring something or other. "I hope you don't really expect a cat to wait outside for you all day long. I don't know to many animals that will stay in one spot for that long, not that I couldn't."
Well the cat was out of the bag now, so to speak, "I must admit, I would much rather go into the school, otherwise I think I should try to go invent something or something. Unfortunately I can't exactly open the door and I will likely get caught, or maybe not. I haven't spent any time researching school, so I who knows."
