Mella hurried through the rain with her bag curled up next to her chest so the rain didn’t get at her skins. It would take forever and a day to dry them if the wetness decided to creep inside. She knew her hair was a mess and she looked like something that belonged outside rather than inside on a day like this but she really hopped at least one person in Liem would be willing to open their door to her for the night. She had just left Zena and being back in Sauti felt strangely wonderful. It wasn’t even that she had been gone that long yet the purple rocks that lacked being covered in snow seemed to be welcoming her home. Shivering she called out not wanting to alarm anyone who might actually be foolish enough to be outside on a day like this, much like herself. “Hello!?” Scurrying she moved toward the closest home hoping to find someone there.

Sinnia wandered around her home, restlessly pacing back and forth. She really needed to head into the village to get supplies and food but the weather looked so ominous that it worried her a little. She plopped down in the middle of the room, looking out the window as she heard the first onset of the storm.

"Well there go my plans for the evening..."

She slid over to the fire pit and began setting wood up to get a nice cozy fire going when she heard a small voice outside. Who was crazy enough to be outside in this weather?! Sinnia sprung up and ran outside, the rain was thick and she squinted trying to figure out where the voice had come from. Out of the corner of her eye she saw movement and she ran out, trying to help the poor girl.

"Hey! Over here!" Sinnia saw the girl clutching and something inside of her went in to panic mode. What if it was a child or a wounded animal? She picked up the speed and waved her arms in the air, hoping to alert the girl further. "Come on, you can stay with me for right now, let's get you out of this rain!" She motioned over to her house and did her best to navigate the two of them through the freezing cold rain and the gusts of wind.

Noise made her turn her head and she found a figure out in the cold with her waving at her like a mad soul. Heading toward it she found herself redirected toward a home. Altering her course she hurried to the home along with the figure which as it turned out was a girl. As soon as they were inside the warmth of the place made her feel like she had come in out of an ice bath. She took a deep breath and her arms instinctively slacked and her bag almost fell out of her arms. Fumbling to hold it so the small jars she had inside wouldn’t break she turned to look at her hero.“T-thank you so much. I should have holed up a long time about, but I didn’t realize how bad it was going to be.” She was shivering and looked the other girl over. She was wind tribe but given she was back in Sauti that was no surprised. “I’m Mella from Mez.” She stuck out her hand while the other clutched her bag shivering slightly. The warmth of the home was creeping in but she was still cold and wet and this kind soul had come out in the cold and wet to guide her to this sanctuary. Mella had never been so happy to see another person in her whole life. Strange how life worked that way.

They made it safely inside the house and Sinnia slumped against the wall, breathing heavily. The mixture of the cold and the rain took her breath away and it took her more than a minute to catch it again. She opened her eyes just in time to watch the poor drenched girl almost drop her bag...though at this point they were both drenched from the rain. Sinnia jumped lightly when the girl turned to her and thanked her for what she had done. "A-Ah no! Don't mention it! There's no way that I was going to leave someone stranded out there." Sinnia tried her best to wring out the little bits of cloth that she was wearing, "I'm Sinnia, from...well from here in Liem. Where are you coming from, Ms. Mella? Hopefully you didn't have to travel too far in this weather...you could catch an awful cold from being out there!" She eyed the bag that Mella was clutching, the bag that she thought might contain an animal or a small child...but the clinking noises she kept hearing from the bag told her otherwise.

Sinnia walked over and grabbed the large blanket that was folded up next to the fireplace. She smiled gently as she wrapped it around her shivering guest, trying to take the bite out of the coldness that her fire just couldn't break through yet. "Please, sit down and relax, warm up a little bit, you may leave in the morning. There's no way I'm letting you back out there tonight." There was that clinking sound again...every time she heard it she just got more and more curious about what was actually in the bag. Torn between wanting to know and not being nosy was tough...

"Hey....can I ask what you have in that bag that seems so important to you? You've been clutching it awfully tight." So much for not wanting to be nosy.

She chuckled. “I’m from Mez but I’ve been traveling the Zena boarder for a while now. I was headed here to resupply and take a break from the wilds for a bit.” The warmth of the blanket felt heavenly. She looked at her bag out of reflex when asked about it. A shy smile crept on her face. “I’ll show you.” She looked around for a spot to spread out. It would be a good way to see if the rain had seeped through and made a mess of things. Picking a corner of the floor she set her bag down and began to take out the blank skins as well as the sewn skins that held the powered paints she had. Next came out her small jars. Thankfully they were intact she checked the bottom of her bag and noticed a smudge of green. It seemed some rain did get in and wet the dried lily in the bottom. She pulled out her brushes as well. “This is all my painting tools. I can work with charcoal as well but not too often.” Sealing the charcoal in with fats so it wouldn’t smear was always such a pain. Mella wrapped back up in the blanket and looked over her supplies. “Looks like the rain never got into it thankfully. I was so worried something would be ruined. It’s so hard to get new skins that I can use with weather like this.” She glanced at the other to see what she was making of all this. She was glad that she had a warm place to sleep for the night. Of course it would be wrong to just do nothing in return for such kindness. She cleared her throat politely. “I might not have many skills but I’d be happy to help out if there is something you need done while I’m here for the night or first thing in the morning.” She’d also make an image for the girl tonight.
