It is here that Declasia rules the City of Crows from, it is here that her Royal Guard protect and serve, and live. From royal quarters to training grounds, from the beautifully dark gardens to the darkest of libraries.

Nyru and Claudia were both roaming the corridors that are kept for the Royal Guard's Quarters. Bedrooms, a couple of kitchens filled with food and living areas, everything you needed was here. Nyru was in the kitchen enjoying an apple with her legs stretched up on the table int he center of the huge ktichen. He was talking with Ruby. "So you still think we should continue with our plans? Our new quest is to hunt the Scarred, Declasia doesn't even want the Black Jewel anymore, well, she never did" he asked. Wanting Claudia's thoughts on the subject.

Ever since the battle, Zoltan never existed and many things have changed. Now, Scarred are managing to disguise themselves as regular people in Magic Earth, becoming braver, yet still nothing more than a little annoyance to people like Claudia and Nyru. But the biggest change is that Declasia never asked them to find the Black Jewel. It's as if she was never interested. It's almost scary to think about what very minor actions can affect how your life unfolds... It's like choosing to kill or save one person's life can alter something so small that you notice it with that odd feeling in your gut.

Then there were some high heeled shoes hitting the polished stone flooring in one of the corridors, Nyru presumed it was Curtessa, one of the other Royal Guards who enjoyed high heels, but when a familiar face came through the door, Nyru was startled. "Isabelle?!" he almost fell off his chair and pulled his legs off the table. "what are you doing here?!"

It was Isabelle Statem, Nyru's older sister, member of the Occult. Unlike Nyru and Claudia, when they graduated Ravencrest Academy they chose to continue their Caster status in the Land of Crows to join Declasia's royal guard. Isabelle on the other hand always wanted to protect and preserve peace with the Occult, keeping the two worlds hidden from each other somewhat. She was always in Non-magic Earth, taking down demons that escaped, or nightmares from Zakernand, or even the odd AWOL Magic-Earth citizen. But now she was here, standing int he doorway with her drapign clothes of black and red, her lush clean skin and long black hair. Her facial features were well defined and to be envied from most women. she then said

"I thought it would take years to find you in this place"

Claudia Vesslia

Claudia basically imtadated each step Nyru took down the never-ending corridor. The floor was like a black sleek mirror that reflected the two Shadowmancers, but their images became somewhat distorted because of the placement of the stone. However, her comrade wasn't interested in the architecture at the moment and instead had plans to fill his stomach. Where was Nyru's manners? He had his feet rested upon the mahogany surface of the possible unused counter top. She would have scolded him, but she didn't have the energy to do so and followed his example to an extent. As she gathered a few fruits from the fridge, she basically multi-tasked and answered his question. "I believe she should still search for the Black Jewel. The Scarred are not threat to us and why she cared about their presences so much is beyond me. We'll just play her little game a bit longer." The blonde hissed as she carried to an apple and a pair to the table. She then proceeded to grab a plate (China, of course), a knife, and folk.

She wasn't ready to eat like a savage because she was raised in a civilized manner. Placing the fruits on the plate, she began to cut into them as if they were a piece of stake. As every sophisticated woman knows, a napkin is placed in their laps so in case an accident were to occur they would be unharmed. Claudia's mind shifted back and forth between that Black Jewel and the Scarred wondering if they may possibly be retailed. Of course, the odds to the fact are extremely slim. Declasia didn't even give any sort of informative instructors like, "Where do the creatures most likely appear" or "Why does to advanced Shadowmancers have to hunt something so insignificant?" or "What is your goal for doing this?" The two were left completely in the dark unable to solve the rest of the puzzle.

Suddenly, tapping heels filled the hall and she figured it was Curtessa making her daily rounds of pointless gossip. However, to her surprise a unappealing woman appeared in the door frame. Nyru's sister, Isabelle's visits were always unexpected and each one turned out worse than the last. Yes, that's an excellent question Nyru, she thought to herself wondering why the female was here in that awful get-up. Claudia winkled her nose in disgust and returned to eating. The two never got along so what was the point of paying attention to each other. The subject of her started to make Claudia lose her appetite.

When Isabelle turned up, Nyru was certainly surprised, she always turned up unexpectedly and it wasn't all too often either. It wasn't a usual thing for the Occult to let a Caster have time off, whilst here they'll probably expect her to do some sort of work. That's probably why Declasia is getting Nyru and Claudia to do the dirty work with the scarred, thats the Occult's bussiness in Non-Magic Earth, but here, no, here Declasia had her own Casters that didn't work for the Occult directly, so she would use them as they were better suited for the job.

But then again... most of the royal guard were Caster's... since the only caster's these days came from the Land of Crows all thanks to that Guildeam break up all those years ago. "um" he began. "When did you get here?!" he exclaimed further, Isabelle stepping in and pulling out a chair, making herself comfortable. She liked the Black Palace ((need to change name of citadel to palace razz )), it reminded her of the living quarters of Absóluté, old yet refined. But here everything was also black. "I got here this morning, used the portal in Absóluté, almost ruined my clothes though" she looked over her legs beneath the table, her fabrics falling fabulously down from her shoulders. "You should probably hold back the heels then you won't trip" Nyru commented, taking a bite out of his apple. But she said back "no less than six inches, Nyru, that's the rule", Isabelle loved her style, she was always in heels and always dressing lavishly.

"Hello Claudia" she then said. "kept him out of trouble?" she teased. When she looked across, she didn't have eyes like her brother. Nyru had dark blue eyes, she had icy blue eyes that were as beautiful as everything else about her, if she were a teen, she wouldn't have a single spot or blemish on her face.

"want some food?" asked Nyru, but Isabelle shook her head and said "I'm fine, i had a take-out breakfast before leaving the city". She then placed her arms down on the worktop, her black, thorny bracelets clung nicely onto her skin. At first glance Nyru always forgot they were more than just bracelets, but had tiny engravings that made our a serpent, when used turning them into great whip-like weapons.

Claudia Vesslia

Was she playing innocent in front of Nyru or was she assuming the worst? However, anything the woman did she could do better. The blonde folded her legs pretentiously similar to Isabelle's posture in order to make a good impression. Nyru would have to notice her mannerisms and praise her for it or he could flat out ignore her. Nyru's sibling, even though the two rarely looked alike, finally acknowledged her presences and treated her brother like a five year old. "Oh yes, loads of trouble." Claudia turned her head and rolled her eyes in annoyance.

Her comrade was being as generous as he could offering her food and all, but she turned him down since she lived such a prefect life. The shadowmancer wanted to throw up from the display of "affection" between the two. She moved onto her orange she had sitting on her plate and instead of using a knife and folk, she converted to her hands. She didn't want to continue trying to dazzle a adolescent woman with her sophisticated charm. Isabelle probably thought she was practically invisible anyway.

Isabelle chuckled lightly at Claudia's response, but from then on it seemed Claudia had no interest in speaking to her. No difference though, it was always like that, neither of them interacted much in the least. "so how long you down for?"
"A while, i got an extended leave as long as i served as a representative for the Occult whilst here" she almost said it with a sigh, one that Nyru picked up on immediately. "Isn't that a good thing?"
"Yeah, but it means if anything goes on with the High Guild then i have to go and attend, you know, regulation..."
"That's exactly why i chose not to stay in Absóluté after the ritual"
"oh but i get to stare at that Eternal Crown alllll day" she teased, trying to make something laborious sound fun. "I get to live without the Occult breathing on my back, in fact just recently me and Claudia have been exploring Magic Earth, you know... saving-" he stopped and remembered no one else knew about Zoltan. "saving innocence..." he then added. "don't we Claudia?" he turned to face her, who was eating an orange.

"hmm, yes.." Isabelle said. "So, anyone good news recently?! Aside from the Shade being lifted and all. It's been great at the Occult, ever since the rest of Magic Earth realised we still existed the Occult didn't keep it a secret anymore, makes things a lot easier"
"Nothing really..."
"oh, no one exciting?" she teased further, crossing her arms and giving a knowing look. He scorned across though and said "no". He never mentioned the fact he had been seeing Laxion the past few weeks... even if Isabelle was the only one to know that he didn't like women, he didn't quite feel up to mentioning Laxion just yet.

Isabelle finally retreated on the buddy-buddy routine with Claudia. Apparently, her was going to be an extensive one and the blonde would have to tolerate the two until she goes insane. Nyru mentioned how the saved Magic Earth, but in what way? All they did was fight against the Scarred and trap En'radial, if that's what he was referring too. She nodded bluntly as she finished off the last of her orange. Juice dripped down her pale flawless chin and she quickly wiped away the sticky substance. The Gothic dressed female didn't let the opportunity to embarrass her younger brother pass her by. Nyru's love life was pretty secretive, but she already knew who he was sneaking out with at night. It was obviously when the two first laid eyes on one another. Laxion was a fetching one and Nyru type, however, she kept her mouth shut about the whole ordeal.

"Well then, seem's i've come home to a boring party then! And i'm all dressed in my best clothes" Isabelle said. "Oh i don't mean it Nyru, I've missed you, really. It's gets too serious at the Occult sometimes".

"hey, did you happen to see Curtessa around when you came in?" Nyru asked Isabelle, wondering where that gossiping girl had got to. "she was by the foyer speaking with Darris, why?"
"It just seems weird she's not ran in yet with some exciting news or whatever it is she speaks about"
"I'd rather her not come in at all to be perfectly honest-"

The door then came bashing open, after tragically looking over her shoulder Isabelle sighed and rested her head in her hand facing back to Nyru when she muttered "Curtessa..."
"Hey, Isabelle! Uhm, sorry you guys" she said, facing the others, Claudia and Nyru. "The Queen requires your assistance right away"
"Why are you coming here for us and not Darris?" questioned Nyru, knowing full well that Darris was the Advisor, he would speak for her and usually get them to speak with her. "I dont know" she said swinging around and speaking sloudly as she hung herself round the doorway and ebgan walking out "Just be there before we all get in trouble!" she said, leaving them as quickly as she had entered.

Nyru looked up with an exhausted gaze to his sister and team mate. He sighed and then pulled hi legs down and pushed his chair away from the worktop, scraping the stone flooring in the process. "i'll be waiting here for you" said Isabelle. "Okay,, c'mon Ruby" Nyru said gesturing with his head and waiting respectfully at the doorway for her to walk out first.

((sorry for slow reply! I'll reply faster now, was watching doctor who hehe))

How could she miss him when she probably had no time to think of him in her fabulous life? Claudia thought to herself. Isabelle had some nerve asking about that gossiping poor excuse for a guard, Curtessa. Nyru found it odd why his sister brought up something so insignificant, but its like she could predict the future. Speak of the devil, those obnoxious heels of hers came trumping down the corridor. The sound was like nails on a chalkboard similar to her boisterous voice. The blonde head fell against the table with a thud signifying that she was annoyed already.

The queen informally wanted an audience with the two, but for what reason? Why didn't the royal adviser, Darris, tell them himself since it is his duty and all. Claudia felt like something wasn't lining up here, but she wasn't obligated to disobey indirect orders. Scrapping her chair legs against the polished black floor as well, she hopped off her chair and took her place by Nyru's side. As the two strolled down the corridor, she continuous gave him a worried look wondering if purple skinned was suspicious of them in a way. Claudia didn't exactly agree with the female's lack of judgement.

Walking down the corridor Nyru wasn't entirely happy about leaving his sister so soon, but nonetheless they'll be back soon to finish speaking with her and maybe go out, he hoped so anyway. But he had a sinking feeling in his stomach, and Claudia felt it too it was obvious by the look on her face. " you don't think" he began, suggesting exactly what Claudia was thinkign. Whisperign afterwards he said "I told you we should have just ignored her, now she's gonna want our head!". Reaching the great doorway to the Queen's quarters he swallowed. Pushing open the double doors a giant creaking sounded, inside was a great hall with a violet carpet leading down to a table surrounded by books and candles with blue flames. "Our queen" he bowed before Declasia, she was seated in her large chair, looking over sheets of paper. At each other side of the hall were corridors leading to other large rooms, rugs, paintings on walls, balconies from upstairs over looked too. Chandeliers hung from the ceiling also.

"Oh, good morning, Nyru, Claudia." she looked up with un unchanging expression, but it didn't seem too upsetting. "You... called for us?" Nyru asked, reluctantly. "Me?" she questioned, putting down her quill. "my word never called for you" she then admitted, shaking her head lightly. "Curtessa sai-"
"Curtessa shouldn't be telling you to come and see me, Darris should" she demanded. Nyru's heart sank further when he realised she seemed to be getting edgy. He wasn't sure if it were better she hadn't really call for them or whether it would have been better she wanted their heads, somethign was going on and it wasn't right.

Claudia Vesslia

Claudia shook her head at Nyru's ridiculous thoughts, but it could be a possibility. They did basically defy the queen's orders and decided to continue searching for the Black Jewel. However, she had a feeling that the female wasn't summoning them to discuss that subject. Nyru pushed the elaborate double doors open and the two shadowmancers enter, stopping at the edge of the queen's desk. The purple skinned elf like woman wasn't terribly organized because her table was covered with random books, but she had more important things to worry about. Her partner and her bowed formally and the dark hair male took the manners of their audience upon himself. In a way, she was relieved because she had no idea what to say to the arrogant ruler.

The situation changed dramatically when the queen admitted that she didn't send for them. Why would Curtessa deceive them unless something horrible happened to Darris? Her voice raised as Nyru tried to convince her that Curtessa obviously wanted them there for some unknown reason. "Excuse your grace, but why would Curtessa hoping lie to us? What reason does she had for doing what she did? And what other reason would we have for coming here?" Claudia stated staring into the woman's eyes. She could be punished for speaking out of turn especially at a time like this.

Nyru Statem

The queen, Declasia gave them a frustrated look, when Ruby replied she slowly stood up from her table and said "I don't know why she would lie, and if something had happened to Darris, she would be the one telling everybody."
"Then, my queen, i hate to suggest something is wrong" Nyru said, he was almost sheepish about trying to speak up, he knew, and Claudia knew, that they could be killed. Declasia then looked concerned, she looked up above to the balconies, and back at the Shadowmancers, her face strong with angst. "You're my best guards, and i trust that you two will help me get to the bottom of-" there was suddenly a shuffling sound from one of the balconies. Nyru looked up sharply, but all that was left was a vanishing shadow.

And then instantly he recognized that kind of attack, a shadowmancer was using the shadows to move at extreme speeds. And then at another balconi, he saw the same thing but this time managed to get a glimpse of a person in dark robes and a black mask. "Claudia!" Nyru shouted. "What are you doing?!" bellowed Declasia's voice, she was readying herself and watching as two different assassins came closer to them. One of the assassins rushed up to Claudia and brought down his sword, the other rushed up to Nyru as he tried to bring up his blade to defend himself! Meanwhile Declasia got ready to attack the one on Claudia. When Nyru defended himself though, with a blink of his eye the assassin was gone, and all he could hear was the sudden cry of pain, it was Declasia! "Declasia!" Nyru shouted, turning around to find her with the assassins blade intruding through her gut.Nyru was suddenly filled with energy as teh adrenaline kicked in!

Letting his sword break into its whip form he whirled it round him as he spun on his heel so he could strike the assassin, before the other one could finish with claudia, it also vanished without giving her chance to notice, this assassin teleported beside Declasia, who was on her knees and gasping for air. The two assassins stood by her side as if they were to protect her, but instead they watched her die.

As Nyru was about ready to execute his spinning attack, he felt a sudden pain in his stomach, stopping in his tracks he dropped his blade, looking down he saw a throwing dagger buried deep in his gut, dripping with black fluid. Suddenly, everythign became hard to see as he looked forward, holding his stomach in pain. There were a man in a red, upper-class jacket, he had short dark hair and a glowing mark on his hand before it turned black. It was Darris. Then to his right, Nyru could see Claudia, she had also been stabbed with the same dagger as Nyru had, she was experiencing the same, exact pain.

"Now, now, hasn't this plan gone perfectly? You two, grab the shadowmancers" Darris said, and then Nyru felt an arm grasp his own, he didn't have the energy to fight back,he could barely stand in the blurriness. The other made its way to Claudia and held her arm tight too. Darris, meanwhile, looked over his sleeves and readjusted his jacket. And then, Nyru heard a thud, it was Declasia's dead body hitting the ground. "Hello there Nyru? Did you have fun murdering the Queen? You wanted that crown all to yourself, didn't you Claudia?" he then turned to her, but neither of them could respond, the poison was kicking in. "I'ts a shame i'm going to have to hand two of the best Royal Guards, AND Caster's in, to the prison! If only our precious guild was accepted back into the Guildeam then i would have sent you straight to the Syndicate, but they would be far too nice to you there." All Nyru could think of was how unfair this was, how this couldn't be happening! This was all just some giant set up!

Darris continued to mock them, as he said "Take these two murderers to the cells, i'll have the gallows ready for them tomorrow morning. In the meantime, i'll get the other guards" and then all Nyru felt was a massive strike on the back of his head as he was knocked unconscious. The same happened to Claudia. Everything then went black and he had no idea what happened next.

"From this day forward" Darris began, lifting the dead queen's chin up from the floor. "your precious, favourite guards will be... Dishonored" he finished with an evil guffaw.

((omg, what did you think?! xD xD xD))

Claudia Vesslia

Claudia couldn't disagree with Declasia there, if the man suffered a stoke, Curtessa would be running around the whole building with her obsessive tapping acting like a adolescent school girl. Her and the queen may not see eye to eye, but she made good pointers. Nyru continued the subject of the paranoid atmosphere and the blonde suddenly became more aware of her surrounds. The purple skinned woman looked up at the balconies in concern, but when she adverted her head to that direction there was nothing there. The female believed in them and it made Claudia realize that she wasn't all that bad. Besides, her conspiracy theory about the queen kind of went down the drain long ago. Running a country was far more important than trying to become an ally with weak hell minions.

A questionable noise transpired on the balconies and like Nyru, she caught sight of the shadow. As Shadowmancers, her and her partner knew very form and secret skills of the shadow arts and at the moment the unknown enemy was performing super speed. Similar to Nyru's and hers when they release their resonance. The swordsman verbally warned her of the danger and with great precaution, she unmounted her bow, pulled an arrow from her quiver, and loaded it onto the string. There was an unexplainable yellow gold at the tip of her arrow, but now was not the time to question it. A rather built male covered in black attire rushed towards her ready to stab her with a curbed shape sword.

Lifting her bow to take an abrasive defense, she was able to hold the assassin off. He pushed down on her weapon and she distributed her weight in her stance so she wouldn't be pushed over. Nyru handled the second with the best of his abilities, but the two of them weren't enough to stop the enviable. Declasia was ready to offer her assistance to Claudia at any cost when a scream pounded against her eardrums. The assassin Nyru was battling disappeared and appeared stabbing the ruler from behind. Even though the archer could turn to view the horrific event, Declasia's cries of agony were enough to tell the story. She never wished death upon the woman and now she regretted treating her with disrespect. If she could go back in time, she would have changed her attitude towards the rather benevolent queen.

The blonde was being lowered to her knees and the blade was coming closer. She could hear Nyru's sword shifted forms as the specialized handmade weapon separated into individual sections held together by thick silver chain. The man in front of Claudia evaporated into thin air, but when the woman turned to Declasia there he was looking over her dying body. Nyru blade was virtually near their necks, and then...a dagger pierced the dark hair male's flesh. His armor didn't give leverage seeing as the dagger penetrated it so easy. A black substance flowed from the knife and Claudia's eyes widened in horror. However, before she could react a dagger sunk into her skin and she experienced the same unimaginable pain as Nyru.

Darris made his unexpected entrance revealing that he was the culprit behind the assassination of the queen. One of the allies was lined up ready to drag Nyru's body away, but not before Darris had a chance to torment them and let them watch their queen die. No doubt that b***h Curtessa is behind the ordeal, ready to rule as Darris' queen. A set up...if only they would have known in advance. How long have the two been secreting plotting this dishonorable scene? Darris continued to tell them where they might be sent to and as much as she wanted to retort, she couldn't. The poison had paralyzed her, she was utter helpless just like partner. There sentence, death. A minute later, a hard hit was subjected to the back of her neck and unconsciousness proceeded to take over.

The Prince of Crows

The night was young and the heroes of the Land of Crows has gone to rest. The battle behind them was perhaps their greatest yet, and even the Guildeam has taken concern and are perhaps regretting their ignorance to the land that was once a brother to their own. Ignorance, maybe, almost let the Daywalkers die.

Nyru lay in his bed resting, and Claudia was well out of it, she had probably experienced the most pain to get to where they were today, Nyru and Adi were more exhausted than anything, though... he had to admit Adi took a good beating too. Come to think of it.. he came out the best...

He had just then placed his phone down on the table beside him, it was a dark wood glossed over. After finally speaking with Laxion he felt calmer, everything was okay their end, they've just been having fun. They saved two girls from the Guildeam's brash decisions, and they've been fighting a war. At least it's all over now, he thought. As he turned to his side and almost hugged his pillow against his face with her arms he attempted to get some rest. And for the first time in his life almost felt like his bed was too... empty?

All were sleeping now, except for one... or two. Adi was in her own room given the luxury of the Royal Guard for her aide. Croix was in the best stable in the city, the Black Palace's very own stable, where Declasia keeps her best horses. But... just as there seemed to be silence, a voice crawled from a corner of the room as a dark figure in black lather clothing stepped forth.

"Well... Well. You certainly showed him the power you behold. But is it a step too close to overwhelming power?"

━━Ɍυɼ'Дɖɩқą Дɖɖąɧąɼɼą━━

Given her own room to stay in, she was quiet appreciative of, though she did try to polity decline such a fancy place to stay, the Queen wouldn't hear of it. Plus she was just to the point of too exhausted to care or argue. Since nothing else needed to be discussed and both Nyru and Claudia just exhausted as her retired for the night. Course Adi retired after looking after Croix who had found himself a nice fancy stay in the Black Palace stables courtesy of the Queen again.

Bags now in her room, though too tired to unpack even the slightest bit, Adi just removed her layers of clothes that she was in nothing but a night gown that reached to mid thigh. the warm fluffy feather down bed and pillows were a fortunate luxury that Adi didn't have often and she certainly was enjoying it as she hugged one pillow to her while she rested her tired head on the other. The gypsy's side still ached and throbbed; only able to sleep on one good side or on her back otherwise risk a large amount of pain.

Even with the exhaustion, the complete and wanton surrender she had to fall into a deep recuperating slumber, Adi could not. Adding in the blood loss, the gypsy was rather surprised that she was not able to nod off as easily as she would have liked. No position helped, and no amount of counting sheep were doing it for Adi. As her thoughts raced about the day and running over questions she wanted to ask the Prince of Crows, she was not able to sleep. Eventually the brunette resigned herself to just lay there thinking with her eyes closed.

Adi may have just begun to start to nod off when 'his' voice rang out through the room.

Jerking upright quickly and withdrawing a blade she had hidden beneath her pillow, the wounded gypsy was quick to regret the sudden and painful movement as her side protested. Her gasp of pain coming as quickly as she did sitting up to let her tired eyes to flow over the room. Breathing through clenched teeth, Adi called out to him.

"Step out to where I can see you...and you may just get your answer," she said in a firm tone, eyes still searching for him as Adi stood clutching her side.

When he finally did, her honey amber gaze zoned in on him, as the golden light boiled just under the surface giving her eyes a ever so slight glow in the darkness only lit by moonlight.

"The 'power' I behold...I had enough power before you came along. How dare you brand me like that?! And more so after I realize that you gave the same mark to Darius' men" Forgetting her own pain, Adi was striding right up to him. "Do you even know the amount of pain you put me through...the others through!?" the young woman snapped and before she was really realizing it, Adi was lifting a hand and striking out in an attempt to slap the so called Prince of Crows.
