Rashida's kids were all grown now, and things seemed to be looking for the better. Her fur was thicker now that she had been in this snowy area for quite some time now. She was at piece. Snow was deep and coming down gently, spring was just right around the corner. She was proud of all her children, how well they adjusted to this new life from one extreme to the next. None of them had died, and none of them had gotten sick. The pride was small, yet, but things would go smoothly.

Honestly, Rashida missed her home, but what more could she do? She sighed at the thought, this place was a perfect new home, even if it wasn't quite the same. Her mate and children were happy and that was what made her happy. She smiled and swished her tail about as she stepped into what most would find very could. Today, to her, was warm and quite amazing. She shook her body as snow hit and melted upon her fur, before stepping out and moving away from the caves they called their dens.

She had enough of the hot springs inside that kept the dens warm and pleasant at night, but it was the day and she needed to venture out and do her duties. Or at least, pretend to do her duties. There was to be a hunting party later in the evening that she was going to lead, for now she needed to pass some time.

Lisimba found herself being bored. All cubs had grown before she even had a chance to do any duties. Life was slow for the moment, but that didn't bother her too much. In fact, it gave her more time to play with Riikano and continue to act childish. She just wanted to have fun and enjoy life as it came. Of course, she couldn't do that if she was watching little cubs all the time while the rest of the pride did their own duties.

Gift day had come and gone, and Winter's End was soon to come. She could feel it, even if it didn't seem like it was coming. She knew it was. Along with most everyone else in the pride that had been here since the beginning. It was a sad day, when it came, but also was a must to happen. Things needed to be in balance, plus it meant more food to hunt. She looked to her Hare and then to her mother that she had just noticed coming out of the den. Had she really been standing there for that long. "Mother?"

Riikano rolled his eyes as he had been trying to nudge her to tell her Rashida had just came out of the den. Not that it was a big deal, but he knew Lisimba loved having a conversion with her mother every chance she got. Rashida was the Head huntress, and made sure everyone knew their place. She was a very busy lioness.

Riikano climbed up to Lisimba's back and sat there for a better luck. He had done it so much now that Lisimba never noticed when he climbed onto her back. He was glad too, she use to hate it when he did that, now it had become such a normal thing, she hardly said anything. Meant he could be lazy when she decided to go for a run. Or rather, all he had to do was hang on.

Her feet stopped almost as soon as they had started. Rashida looked about and noticed her only daughter and Riikano. A smile crossed her face as a greeting to them. In truth, she was hoping to see at least one of her kids today. They all seemed to be busy in their own little way, it was hard to get a chat with them. Or perhaps, she was the one that was busy? No matter, she moved towards the two of them with a nod of her head.

"Good morning, you two." She said as she looked up at the sky. "Seems the snow is becoming more gentle." She looked back at both of them carefully watching. Of course, she wasn't the one to determine the weather of if the snow was to stop soon. That was left to the council and the king and queen.

"What are you two trouble-makers up to?" She asked with a smirk. Rashida was once a huge trouble-maker, but she had grown out of it as she gotten older. Of course, it didn't mean that it wouldn't have rubbed off to her children. In fact, the two biggest pride trouble-makers where right in front of her. Lisimba almost took after herself more than she'd want to admit. Or more than Lisimba would ever admit.

Lisimba looked at her mother innocently, as if she had no clue what she was talking about. Clearly, she wasn't a trouble-maker. Her eyes followed where her mother looked up at the sky. She nodded her head in agreement on the fact that winter was close to end. Though, who knows for sure. Weather was a funny thing, it could be calm one moment, and then the next a storm would hit. She'd seen it before.

"Oh, we're not up to anything in particular." She hummed to her mother and she gave a wink to her little hare friend. Truthfully, she and Riikano weren't really up to anything, but it was still fun to pretend time to time that they were gonna cause havoc upon the world. Perhaps now that her mother had asked and put the thought upon her mind, they would cause a little trouble. It had been a while since she caused another pride member some grief. Sachin had been her last victim. Oh, it was fun to pester that grump.

Riikano followed suit and winked back at his partner in crime. He wasn't sure what they were gonna do, but now his attention was fully hers. All the stuff they could do, the mischief they could create. As long as it wasn't with that grump ball of a council member... Anyone but him.. Riikano didn't like him, but for some reason Lisimba seemed very much interested in bugging the crap out of him.

He wanted to ask her why, but thought better of it. Honestly, he didn't want to know. He wiggled his fluffy tail as his eyes went from Lisimba back to Rashida. The lioness was on to them! Or maybe not? He wasn't sure at the moment, but he didn't want to seem like they didn't have a scheme up their sleeves. It would ruin the plots that Lisimba had created and not told him about yet. She would in good time. Good time indeed. For ears not near her mother's of course.

Rashida glanced between Lisimba and Riikano again, giving an unapproving look at the two, but then smiled. She couldn't look like an angry mother, especially when they were just doing what she did when she was about Lisimba's age. There was also not much trouble the two of them could get into. Though, she had heard complaints from Sachin and a few others. She ignored them mostly. She found them amusing. Of course, Gunju wouldn't have thought so.

"Just be careful, you two." She said as any mother should. She moved towards her daughter and started to lick the side of her face. Even though her kids were adults, she still felt the need to clean them from time to time. Not all of them let her, or would try to get away from her cleaning habits, but she still thought of Lisimba as being her baby girl. She was Rashida's only daughter, and it was her right as a mother to be able to clean her when ever she pleased. She said that about her sons as well.

Lisimba giggled as her mother eyed them both. An innocent type of giggle, as if nothing at all was going through her mind. Of course, she knew that Riikano had no idea what was going on, but that was soon to be filled in later. She made a squeak as her mother started licking her however. "Mom!" She said after words and stepped away from her. " I'm an adult now!" She said wrinkling her nose a bit with a bit of displeasure.

"I can clean myself!" She with an embarrassed look upon her face, glancing about to make sure no one else saw. She rubbed her face a little with one of her paws to make sure her mane and the rest of her fur wasn't messed up. Last thing she needed was someone to say something about that. After she was satisfied that no one saw, and her fur was in place, she straightened up and gave her mother a small playful glare.

Riikano had started to laugh so hard, he almost fell off Lisimba's back. He couldn't help it, it was too funny! He knew how much she didn't like being treated like a kid in public, even though she did act like one anyways. He held on and calmed himself and snickered. He'd so hold that against her a bit later in the day, if he remembered, anyways.

He had a one track mind, at times. Once he started thinking about one thing, he'd forget the last thing he was gonna do or say. Not that it wouldn't come back to him later and him to use it later, however. He grinned on the back of Lisimba's back. He knew that they'd both be off soon, after that awkward moment.

Rashida laughed and nodded. Of course she could clean herself, but that was besides the point. Once Lisimba had her own children, she'd understand how it was. No matter, Rashida shook her head and watched her daughter and Riikano plotting unknown mischief. "Just don't get into too much trouble." She said eyeing both of them carefully. There was always something up with those two, it was hard to keep track of them.

"And no pestering Sachin." She said looking at Lisimba mostly."Don't need to piss off the council, ya hear?" She shook her head again. She wasn't sure why Lisimba picked the worse lions to mess with in the pride when she decided to go about her mischief.

Lisimba straightened herself up again and turned her head to glare at Riikano. She looked back towards her mother with a sheepish look upon her face with the request that she made. "Of course, I wouldn't dream of doing that." She had tired to make sure she didn't bother too many of the council members. Not that it would matter too much, they wouldn't concern themselves with someone like Lisimba and Riikano.

She wasn't worried about who she bugged, she never did anything too bad. Sure, she sometimes she bugged in annoying ways that'd piss off any grumpy lion, but she was careful not to go too far. Riikano knew his limits too, or at least she hoped so.

Riikano's ears dropped down when she looked at him with a glare. He was still grinning, however. It was too amusing not to, after all. She couldn't blame him for that. She'd had done the same thing if he had a mother that tried to do that. Though, he hadn't known his mother. Plus, she cleaned him all time, not that he was gonna point that out. That'd embarrass both of them.

"Let's be going then, lots of things to do." He said with a chuckle and an pull on the scruff of Lisimba's neck. The sooner they got out of this awkward situation, the better.

"Be gone with you both." She said with a smile. She had her own things to do as well. She had to gather a huge hunting party, well not huge, but large enough to take down a few water buffalo. They were a tough catch. She swished her tail and bowed her head, giving them their leave until next time. She started off in the direction she was heading before she had seen her daughter. It was a short greet, but she had things to do in the pride.

Lisimba watched her mother leave before her and Riikano went about where they were going. Though her thoughts of what she originally was gonna do disappeared from her head. Perhaps she would go and harass Sachin, despite being told to leave him alone. She giggled at the thought. Her mom would be so angry when she found out. "Let's find Sachin."

"But... You heard your mom?!" Riikano protested. Though, he couldn't really do much. Once she had something on her mind, that was that. He sighed and went along with it. They both headed out more towards the center of the pride.
