As much as he had adjusted, it was still too dark read down in his room in the basement. Especially when it came to reading up on such important stuff, like all the Tokusatsu he had missed out on (So much!). Outside would have also been ideal, but Milo didn't care too much for reading out in colder temperatures (it really wasn't that bad) than he would have liked. So, he settled himself in one of the common rooms upstairs with his stalk of magazines acquired from a day of leave (finally!), a sandwich from the cafeteria and one of those grocery plastic bags filled with things from a Japanese market. Because every city had to have a Japanese market somewhere, right? (Or a little Tokyo or something).
Well, he had found one and bought some snacks. And it just so happened this one also had some candy toys. Most unfamiliar, for now anyway, but purchased all the same. Lockseeds, Dino batteries and a few Wizard rings.
With his feet propped on the table and sandwich rested on the arm of the chair, Milo pulled off the plastic wrap of the Newtype - The Live, decorated with a very colorful looking Kamen Rider. "Kamen Raido Gaimu..." he read out loud and flipped to the first page. Advertisements.
This is where anyone passing by would find him.Bilious ouob I am terrible with starts

Jerry was exhausted as he hauled himself back into the dormitory. Alright, so he wasn't the best at hand to hand combat. All the more reason to work on it. Even so, after his session with one of the more experienced Sun hunters, he was aching all over as he tromped through the common room, but froze at the sight of Milo and his pile of goodies. Had the guy been getting lessons from Allan? More importantly... it looked like the guy had access to shore-leave. "Uh... hi!"

Judging by the pictures alone, Milo wasn't sure if he was a little apprehensive or intrigued by the current news of tokusatsu. He had read, to his best efforts because his Japanese wasn't flawless, about another Super Hero Taisen and how Kyoryuger was almost over (and he hadn't even watched it!). By now the sandwich only had a few bites in it and seemed already forgotten as he flipped to a new page. And found the Gaimu thing. Why did they look like fruity samurai?
Before he could investigate further - wait, was that an orange? - Milo heard a greeting his way and looked up and over his magazine to find a familiar looking fellow now in the common room. Well, it took him a moment to got the gears in motion to recognize the other guy but the recollection soon came that he had met him on the beach. And they talked about ukes.
"Oh dude, hey!" Rather quickly, Milo sat up straighter in his feet with a beaming smile, "Been a while, ya? Howzit?" And a name would come back to him, tip of his tongue.

Jerry just blinked in his exhaustion at the spread the young man had about him, brows raised, "Ah... f-fine! Been fine... ah, relatively, ahaha. What... what on earth is all this?"

That was vague yet oddly informative. Milo pursed his lips together for a moment, hummed and nodded in response before getting into the details of his loot. While also still gathering a name. "Aa, dude, finally got to go off island like you mentioned a while back and got to catch up on stuff." And pointed vaguely to the magazines with one hand while the other continued to clutch the one he had been reading, keeping a finger in place. "Well, kinda. Still didn't get to watch anything but the magazines help."
Maybe he was getting ahead of himself. "You've heard of Power Rangers, ya? This is stuff for the Japanese version," and again waved vaguely at the stuff on the table, "and stuff also for one of the other shows they make, little darker. But yeah, picked up some toys and mags when I was out."
And at this point leaded forward to reach with a free hand into the plastic grocery bag. "And some snacks. You want some daifuku?" Milo asked, holding out a light pink ball wrapped in plastic.

Jerry took it all in. He had watched Power Rangers back in the day on American Television like most boys his age- up until his Grandmother had turned it off saying it was 'too violent'. "Oh!" he said, "Yeah, sure!" He moved to sit nearby to look over the booty and try to make sense of the so-called 'snack'. "I'm sure if you found the CD or VHS and it was Japanese, Allan would find a way to play it, ahahaha. Now um. What... what is this?" He picked at the plastic on the ball as though he was afraid of breaking the thing.

That slight possibility just made Milo's eyes light up and his grin go even more into the territories of stupid. "Hmm... Allan-taichou, ya?" It was obvious their fearless leader was into anime of the sorts, how did the idea of talking to him never come up? Yes, the wheels were now spinning. "I saw someone mention havin' a tablet on twitter, was hoping they could like download and stuff. We got wifi, right? Though, need ta get one..." No such luck yet.
At the question of food, "Oh, ya. Daifuku. The pink squishy stuff on the outside is mochi," he leaned over and tapped at the wrapper in demonstration, "like a rice pastry and inside.. should be a red bean paste." Never did have much luck finding the other ones, but he did prefer the anko filling. "I got riceballs too if you don't think that sounds good." 'cause some people didn't.

Red bean paste? What on earth was that? Jerry gave a weak smile, "I'll... I'll give it a go..." He managed before unwrapping it the rest of the way and taking an experimental nibble. He wasn't sure what to expect... maybe strawberry? It didn't taste like strawberries.
He swallowed warily. "Oh, yes, we have wifi but like... if you want outside stuff, you're better off talking to like... Mark or someone, but I'm pretty sure on the Japanese Media side, Allan's got the most impressive collection."

No. It wouldn't really taste like strawberry, sorry Jerry. But maybe the taste would be interesting enough to be deemed good. Milo watched for a moment to see if the other Sun would deem to alright before reaching into his bag to grab something for himself... when he remembered his sandwiched and reached for that instead. A bite was taken before the plate was placed from the armrest to the table (more correctly, one of the lockseed boxes).
"Aa, so it doesn't all just come in normally like off island and all?" He asked, even though he was nodding his head along. "Good to know though, thanks for all that, brah." He smiled, filing all for later. Hopefully Mark was as approachable as Allan-taichou seemed.
"Oh yeah, you ever get your uke fixed?"
