It was early morning. So early the sun had hardly started to rise and only a slight lightening of the dark sky and the sudden absence of stars informed you of the oncoming day. Even the birds had yet to rise. It was perhaps not the best time to hunt; to go hurtling through the still dark swamp after some small, unidentified creature. But Fate had broke rank after the sniffing out the smaller beast and The Killing Moon was following after the wolf. They wound their way around the trees, splashing through puddles and pushed through trailing vines. He didn't see the kill but he heard the desperate shriek and snap. Then there was silence. seru_ame My muse decided to play nice! <3

The sounds of a small creature's death shrieks awakened Dream from his reverie, blinking quietly, and checking to make sure his pig and foxbun were still curled up on either side of himself. Finding his piglet absent, her rose quickly, frowning deeply as he picked up his fox bun and peering about nervously. His travels were quick, and it didn't take long before he came upon... a wolf. A rare beast, with his pig nearby, in a bush on the other side of the wolf, hiding. Quietly, he set down his bun, and peered out. He didn't wanna startle the wolf... or his pig... "Hm..." he muttered, eyes narrowing as he straightened and stepped out quietly.
Ruriska Hehe, his piglet gets up to all sorts of mischief.

The wolf gave his prey a final shake to make sure it was dead. He didn't seem to have noticed the pig, his nose filled with the scent of blood and death from his kill. However, there was nothing wrong with his hearing and as Dream's stepped out, even with such soft steps, his ears perked up. Dropping the carcass the wolf turned on the Kimeti, a warning snarl ripping out of its throat.

"Easy there, little hunter... are you enjoying your feast? I'm not going to take away such a prize... His voice was silken, low and calming, his posture relaxed, but ready as he tipped his head at the wolf, placing his hooves confidently. "I've a different target in mind, so just you stay still... I'd hate to have to put your pelt on my bed, too..." he muttered. Granted, most of the pelts around his mossy bed were of other prey animals, not predators... and he had a certain respect for wolves. This one was a lovely specimen, actually.
Ruriska It's ok. Trot is a silly thing normally. No memory retention.

The snarl deepened despite the calming words, but the wolf didn't budge from where it was partly crouched over his kill. "That would be highly unfortunate," an equally calm voice drifted out from the darkness behind the wolf. The beast instantly relaxed into a sitting position, but the eyes were still sharp and wary. "I hope," The Killing Moon said as he stepped into view, "that he didn't kill something of yours."

Lighting his gaze from the wolf as it relaxed, the buck shook his head, ears pulling forward slightly. He glanced at the corpse again, and shook his head slowly. "No, not one of mine, luckily. My piglet, though, is in that bush a little to your left. You might even be able to hear her heart. I bet it's quick as a songbird's... Dream replied quietly. "That's a fine wolf you've got there..." he added, nodding at the beast as he paused. Too nervous to remain where he'd set the bun, Descent darted out and hopped up onto his back, and began to fuss with his mane...
Ruriska And so, the Foxbun ruined his tough-guy incubus image.

"I see. My apologies." He clucked his tongue and the wolf picked up the carcass, before turning and padding quietly into the underbrush. The Killing Moon watched the other buck, a small smile gracing his face. "Thank you... and that is a fine foxbun." It reminded him of his own rabbit, who out in the dark somewhere with his eaglehound and jellyfish. Together it seemed they had a whole menagerie of beasts. seru_ame Killing Moon appreciates the love of cute things. xD And I will respond again tomorrow! Good night!

"No harm done... Dream muttered, looking back at the foxbun and smiling at the little creature as it ran its paws through his mane and the feathers there. "Thank you. He rather loves to muss my mane... Trot, why don't you come on out, little one..?" he muttered, moving closed and coaxing the piglet out. After a few seconds, it darted out and hid between his front hooves, oinking nervously. "She'll be fine..." Dream declared after a moment's inspection. "You... what's your name? What brings you to this part of the swamp so early?"

His gaze followed the piglet as it scampered out of hiding, the vague thought of 'my father would love to cook that pig' drifting through his mind. "The Killing Moon," he answered with a smile. "Mere chance. I couldn't sleep and then Fate caught the scent of prey. We didn't have time to hunt yesterday, so I imagine he was hungry."

Nodding to the male, Dream used his foreleg to pet the piglet. "Mine is Dream's Desires. If you or your wolf are still hungry... and can promise not to eat any of my friends' companions... I'll take you back to my place. We have fish, berries, and snakes..." the darkly-colored buck murmured softly, and then grinned slightly. "I don't think any of the others are awake yet, so it should be alright..."

"It seems remiss of me to turn down the offer of food and a place to rest. We shall accompany you, Dream's Desires... and I promise nobody shall be eating anyone else." The buck chuckled and moved closer to the other Kimeti. Fate would remain out in the darkness, finishing his meal and would pose no further threat to even the tasty looking piglet. "Thank you."

As Dream moved to turn himself around, his foxbun, fascinated with the much longer locks of Moon's red mane, hopped onto his back, and moved up, carefully balancing and reaching up to tug and paw at them, making little noises. Blinking once, the buck sighed, and began to move towards the glade. "Sorry... he loves messing with otherkin's manes and tails... If you want him to stop, I can carry him in my mouth..." Dream muttered, moving to take the lead. It wouldn't be a terribly long walk before they came upon a rather spacious clearing, with a small fire in a stone pit, with berry bushes lining the outskirts near a somewhat large, shallow pond. A splash let him know there were fish in there. High up in a tree, there was a hawk gazing down at them, and, below its tree, a totoma buck slumbered, back to the moss beds around the fire. Two does slept side by side, heads resting on each others' backs, with a white and black flox laying between their heads, and there seemed to be a freshly vacated moss bed. "Harm left, it seems... careful not to wake them..."

The Killing Moon moved even closer, moving his head so that the Foxbun could easily reach his hair. "It's quite fine." He walked alongside Dream until they reached the clearing. It was, he decided after stopping to look around, a rather fine place. There was an abundance of food, though the group would have to be careful not to devour it all and ruin the area. Such a nice home needed to be managed carefully. His voice lowered to a whisper as he regarded the sleeping kin. "Will they protest to my presence?" He hardly wanted to deal with a fight if one of them woke up and took offense.

Dreams shook his head, and smiled faintly. "No... Free- she's the red and blue doe, there- settled this Glade for the purpose of welcoming travelers and for any kin to rest a while, or stay and be productive. I hunt here, and brought them fire..." the buck murmured, and then moved quietly towards the small fire, carefully feeding it a couple sticks. "Would you like a fish? Or something else?"

"Ah, very good." The Killing Moon made a pleased sound, tossed his hair back and moved further into the glade. "Fish would be wonderful." He found a comfortable looking place and settled himself down with an elegant folding of his legs and then reclined lazily with a slight smile gracing his face. As if his newly relaxed state was some sort of cue, the bushes rustled and from them emerged an eaglehound and a bunny. They settled down close to the buck; the latter grooming itself vigorously with little grey paws. There was no sign of the wolf or his last and much stranger follower.
