Hey everyone! So, as some of you may or may not know, I'm trying to make a name for myself as a standup comedian. And, right now, we have an amateur contest going on, which could lead to some major stuff. However, there's a catch: I need to make it to the top 10 in votes in order to make it to the show. So, if you guys could just go there and vote for me (bottom of the page, click "Martin Savoie" and then "vote"), that would be awesome. You don't even need to be from the region to vote, just as long as you can vote once a day, that's pretty awesome. Thanks guys! http://www.cbc.ca/informationmorningmoncton/openmic/

You need to work on the delivery of your jokes, you only had me cracking a small half smile.. but I did vote for you just because I support you as my bud. 3nodding

Harli_Nightmare I voted for someone else, just to be different. You a*****e XD Fox: Yeah I agree that this one needs improvement on that. This one specifically was my worst, in my opinion, but but it's the only one I had on tape. I would change many things, mostly with my physical presence and how I learn it so it wouldn't look like I'm reading on a piece of paper, which seems to be part of the problem on the delivery.

Why... why do you only have your worst on tape? Not your best? Or even just have your best to promote yourself.. This seems like a drunk mans move.

Although there are some footage of other sets I did, but they were deemed too "vulgar" for the contest, thanks to the abortion joke...

Well... So it started and I had the schedule. I was going first on stage and the host was bombing all of his jokes, so I was like "okay, it's gonna be a tough crowd". So I decided to work with them a little at the beginning and warm them up before starting my act. It was a big risk since I only had 7 minutes and I estimated that I needed 6 so I was restrained in improv.
But I told a joke and it worked, I got a round of applause after the 2nd one, and everything just went uphill from there. The crowd was really into it and one of the judges was laughing so hard, she cried!
In the end... I finished 3rd!! biggrin biggrin biggrin
I got many positive comments, one of the judge even said I was a name to remember for the future. So it was super awesome and overwhelming at the same time razz
I'll post the link to my performance as soon as I'm done working on that really awful soundtrack...
