The sun was starting to peek over the trees and into the den she shared with her mate. Shoshana exited the den in a flurry of excitement. Today was the day that she expected to see her family. All of them.. She'd searched, wandered and eventually sent magic to invite the ones she'd been able to find. She hoped that even the extended family would show up. Stopping to catch her breath, she looked around, hopeful.
It had been some time since she'd seen her parents. Well.. Since her foals had been foals. Her children were long since grown, and she a grandmother even. Waking up, she'd nuzzled Rakshi's cheek before she got up and exited the cave they'd used for a home for so very long. "I'm going to going to go ahead to my parent's dear." Smiling, she trotted off, eager to see her family once again.
Rakshi blinked as his cheek was kissed and his beloved left out the door. He sighed and pulled himself together, then picked up the pack he was often carrying all the essentials, snacks everything. It was simply routine for him since Briallan often went dashing off without much plan. He grabbed his last item and smiled as he headed off to follow after her, knowing he'd easily catch up to her what with her short legs. Sometimes she did surprise him with how she moved when excited. But he'd taken that into account and caught up fairly easily, "Quite the day, hope your mother is prepared for all this company I've been hearing about."
Sighing deeply with a minor headache Haven stood and glanced around, she hadn't seen her mate for a few days, but that wasn't abnormal with their relationship. She left word that she'd be headed to visit with family, if he wanted to meet them he'd follow, if not, well it wasn't the biggest deal to her. Shrugging to herself she walked on to meet up with one of her sons, Keary likely in need of a reminder that he needed to be present for the family gathering. Walking silently she found her son, pouring over a book again, "You know, you'd think you would take a break from having that nose of yours buried in a book." She smiled, "Come on we've got a bit of a walk ahead of us. Your great grandmother is looking forward to seeing you again." With that she headed off in the direction of her grandmother's home.
"I know...but...it was just so riveting." He smiled a little and stood, storing his book in his side satchel, he fell into step with his mother, quietly observing, he still wasn't sure about his adopted father, but since his mother seemed well he wasn't going think too hard on it. There was more than enough time to chat about it later on rather than trying to figure it all out while they were on the way to see his great grandmother. With the thought of all the craziness ahead, he understood that simple conversations were going to be hard to come by.
Oracle followed his mate out of the den, happy to watch her in her excitement. Of course he was excited, too. It had been far too long before he had seen his family and his heart was swelling just as ever to see them all. But Shoshana has this amazing... exuberance about her that was ever in awe of. She shone like the sun - a beauty and a passion she radiated in a way he never felt he could.
Sometimes he caught himself wondering how he had ever managed to earn the love of such a wonderful mare. He was quiet, introverted, gentle.. and living a quiet life with his love and his children was nothing short of a dream come true for him.
Winter took after his dad, even to an extreme. He wasn't a mute, but damn close. He only spoke when it was absolutely necessary; preferring to stay back and observe. He never strayed far from home, and was one of the first to arrive, besides his parents, to the gathering. He immediately found his father and nuzzled him affectionately, then wandered over to his colorful mother, his fave breaking out in an adoring smile.
She chuckled at her mate's words. "Who knows... She might have bitten off more than she could chew this time.. Still.. It's going to make her happy to see every one." She knew he'd catch up, he always did when he wanted to. It was something that both aggravated her at times and amused her at most. "What Have you heard of our children? Have they accepted?"
Kamiki
Turning around, she looked over her mate and beamed. Everything was going to be splendid. The sight of her son only made her beam even more. Stepping forward, she nuzzled him tenderly. "Winter.. I'm glad you came." She paused a moment. "It is nice to see our family coming back together." She chuckled and nuzzled him affectionately once more.
Cad Stepped out from the mostly over grown path way's bushes. "Hello Grandmother." He smiled broadly. He'd grown into a large stallion much like his father. "Hello Grandfather." His gaze went to the white stallion before him and he smiled once more. He'd torn himself away from his own tinkering and... other things to come and join the family reunion. His own familiar had heard from her mother.. the familiar of his own mother and brought the news to him.

Oracle stepped over to Shoshana and his son, his tail wagging behind him. At time times he wondered if Shoshana's stronger personality is why most of the children seemed to inherit her traits more readily; or if that was just a condition of cerynei blood, but there was so doubt that his pale visage passed on through the generations. It was still a feeling Oracle was getting used to; seeing parts of himself passed throughout the generations. He grew up looking nothing like his parents - his pure white coat something alien and 'significant' according to his small herd. He was supposed to be some kind of a 'sign' from the heavens - hence his name - but alas, he never felt like he lived up to the expectations. He was no wise mage or great leader - he was just a earnest stallion who was making his way in the world like any other.
But he was wrangled out of his own head with the approach of Cad. He smiled and his eyes lit up - he had grown into quite a capable looking stallion himself. "My have you grown," he said, stepping up to him and nuzzling his neck.
Winter was always happy to his family, though he knew that he was a grown stallion now and needed to perhaps stike out more on this own. Both his siblings had children of their own by now, but he had yet to feel...comfortable with that. He was such a quiet introvert he wondered if anyone would ever really get that close to him at all. Mares were a puzzling thing for him... they seemed so alien and hard to understand, and he seemed to lack the ambition to really get to know them in the way most other stallions of his seasons do.
But now wasn't the time to worry about that. He was happy to be his Mom and Dad, and to see other members of the family come file in. He peered out from behind Shoshana, watching raptly as others approached. He smiled at his nephew, Cad, but didn't approach or speak to him yet. The family resemblance was strong with that one; a coat like fallen snow and long, icy hair like their mother. Winter was similar; though his fur reflected a color more like ice than the virgin white coat of his father. He always wore roses in his mane - a habit he picked up and he continued in honor of his mother.
Shoshana shuffled from one hoof to the next. Oh how happy she was to see cad again. He visited her some times, staying close to 'home' but she had to face it. The boy's mind was a mystery. He spent long hours making things and with that little bunny of his.. he was getting better at doing some of the things. "I've missed you all so much.." She cooed to both her son and her grand son. "Winter.. You've stayed away so long... and and.. still no girl have you brought home." She gave him a teasing smile. Oh she knew if/when he was ready he'd settle down, but she also worried over the lad. Much like Briallan worried over cad. Two peas in a pod those two were.. very much alike in their resistance of mares.
A small snicker escaped her as she thought it over. Oh cad had female friends. Of this she knew well.. After all.. Briallan had last visited her with a question about a peculiar looking mare who's mane plants had out right taste tested Cad's nose. Shaking her head, she looked over to Oracle. Nothing could have made her happier in this moment.
Cad Chuckled lightly. "Well, I do come from rather.. large stock.." He laughed up a deep rumbling sound. "You think I'm large you should see my grandmother Mera... or my aunts on my dad's side. I believe grandmother invited them as well.." He cocked his head to the side some. Musette was shyly hiding behind his leg eying the unknown soquili, her whiskers twitched and her ears bobbled as she listened to her large stallion converse with what she could only figure was his family from the way they carried on.

"I would like to meet them, I hope they come around," Oracle said with a nod. The little critter hiding around Cad's legs caught his attention and he gave a warm smile. He lowered his head, careful not to bash Cad with his antlers as he did so. "Who is this?" he asked.
Winter flustered a bit at his mother's teasing, the blush on his face easy to see through his light, ice-colored fur. "I haven't been gone too long..." he said, trying to side step the conversation about mares. His voice was soft and shy, nearly inaudible. But he nuzzled his mother again, letting her know he wasn't angry, just embarrassed.
She nuzzled Winter tenderly. "Do not fret my boy.... I worry.. but I also want you to be happy. If you wish to mate.. then you will and we'll be very happy for you.. But if not, We'll love you still the same." She lipped at his mane, smoothing it out away from his face like any mother might.
Stepping away from her son, she beamed at him. "I Still marvel at how well you've grown.. You're so hansom.. like your father. My quiet little winter bloom." To her he'd always be little, Sure now he was taller than her now.. but forever she would remember him as her little blue foal so quiet and shy.
He couldn't help his laughter at his uncle. "Uncle, It's good to know I'm not the only family hermit...." He laughed once more. "My mother seems to fear I'll die alone too.." He was happy in all reality that he wasn't the only one in the family being bothered about his single status. Musette Peered up at the white stallion and shrank back some, pulling her ear over her eye shyly. Finally she looked out and chittered at the white stallion. "Musette sir.." She chittered once more.
She'd remembered where the cave her nieces and nephews had been born was. From there the grandmother of her nephew's lands were located a little ways away. It had been a clever place she thought at the time. Close but not too close to family. A small smile formed on her face. Like her mother she'd gained the size of some one built for battle. But she was a more.. delicate thing emotionally. She walked with a daintiness about her despite her size. She'd only just returned home to see her mother and father when she'd learned of the family gathering. Here she pushed through bushes and limbs making what she gathered was likely the world's loudest entry she could have imagined. Behind her was her mother.
Mera brought up the rear of this entourage. She'd been keeping a sharp eye about for any threats along their journey and now that they were so close, she wasn't going to let her watchfulness lapse. The leather armor she wore creaked as she moved. "How's it look ahead Tian?" She spoke smoothly, a tone that sounded like she wasn't easily shaken. She'd spent many a day training along side her father when she was younger so she'd long ago learned the importance of keeping a level head.

He smiled at the thought of his mother in law having bit off more than she could chew, then chuckled, What I've heard, Haven's meeting up with us, bringing along one of her boys. Keary I believe. Cad's already up that direction I believe and well Mera is off somewhere. Not sure where, but she might show up. He reviewed his memory, that sounded about right.
They'd been walking for a bit when Haven had caught sight of her mother and father, glancing to her side, she took off at a trot to catch up, her lizard familiar clinging for dear life as she caught up to them, "So did we pick up the pace, or are you two getting slow in your old age?" Haven snickered a bit, "So who all have you found out was going? Is your friend with the red wings gonna be there? Aunt Ali?"
Keary had caught his mother's look and watched her sprint off to catch up to his grandparents. Sighing, he secured his bag and dashed to catch up to the whole pack of family. It wasn't nearly as much as he figured they'd see, but it was a fairly hefty start. He kept silent as was his normal mode of operation when in a group of three or more. Observation more his forte than interaction.
"Ah, well its very nice to meet you, Musette. You are doing a good job at looking after my grandson, I hope?"
Winter couldn't help but smile, even as his ears still burned red. He let her fuss with his mane, but then blew from stands out of his eyes despite himself. "I don't know how to talk to mares is all..." he said in his gentle, quiet voice.
It took him a moment to realize that Cad was speaking to him. He looked over and nodded his head. "Oh yes, well I certainly hope it doesn't come to that, but I'm in no hurry and I am not planning on dying, any time soon." His small joke was met with a hint of a smile; this was the most social he had been in months.

She smiled and nudged Rakshi's shoulder. "Speak of the devil." She teased and greeted her daughter with an affectionate nuzzle. "Hello dear." She smiled broadly. Peering around Haven, she looked to her grand son. "And hello again Keary." He beamed happily. She only had two grand children in life and so far Keary had been the only one to stay at least some what in touch. Looking back to Haven, she shook her head. "I'm afraid I haven't seen Ali in some time, dear.. I hope nothing's happened to her.." She frowned as she spoke.
Tian had thought she'd heard some voices up ahead. "Mom.. I think I hear them.. They're up ahead!" Without waiting, she ran ahead to greet her family. Once they were in sight, she grinned broadly. "Rakshi!!!" Forgetting all of her training as a lady, she hopped and launched herself at her brother, happy to see him.
Mera chuckled some and picked up her pace till she could see the group ahead. "Hello!" She gave a hearty chuckle and joined the rest of the growing group. "Well, this is a sight to see.. My granddaughter, and even my great grand son too." She nuzzled each one in return.
Kamiki
"Well dear.. you talk to me.. and I'm a mare.." She chuckled softly. "Dear.. not all mares are scary." She nuzzled him once more. "In time.. you'll learn.." He just needed confidence she was sure. "So.. Have you made any friends, Winter?" She was curious about any interactions her son might have.
Cad chuckled. "Girls aren't so bad.. some of them are actually nice.." He flushed himself. He'd been thinking of one in particular when he'd said that. Clearing his throat some, he turned his head with a sheepish look, looking at Musette. Musette beamed at the stallion. "I help him as he needs me.. He's quite crafty... And his little purple lady friend seems to spark him to be more creative."Sputtering, he dipped his head down and poked Musette with his nose. "Shhh, ixne on the areme..." Musette looked at Cad with big eyes. "What???!"
At his Daughter's voice he smiled. It hadn't been that long since they'd seen one another, but it was a pleasant surprise to see his grandson as well. Sometimes Rakshi couldn't help feeling a little odd about being a grandfather, but then he figured that his parents and Bri's parents fell much the same.
He blinked as his sister suddenly appeared, his mother in tow, "Tian!" He exclaimed and managed not to get bowled over by his sister's great launch at him, "And hello to you as well mom." He smiled, "Dad coming along too? And where's Leila?"
Haven was a bit saddened that her mother had still not heard from Alinea. That mare was one she'd hoped to see running about perhaps finally together with Shilo...but that would be something to discuss later on. She absently wondered if a certain angry Kalona mare would be there, chuckling she grinned figuring the terrifying mare had other things she was up to, "Hello gran!" She greeted gran Mera with a nuzzle of her own. it was not something she often thought about but she did call her dad's side of the family with a more casual tone than her mom's. It was just the way it had always been. Very proper with Grandmother Shoshana and Grandfather Oracle. She figured it had something to do with their names. Grandmother Mera sounded odd so Gran Mera it had always been.
Keary somewhat bashfully accepted the nuzzle from his great granny, And then there were five. He sighed it was going to be quite the reunion with this already and it was bound to get larger and larger with all of this. He mentally prepared himself for it, a deep breath, then he spoke, Shall we continue forward? I'm sure they're already starting to wonder where we all could be. He smiled politely, hoping he didn't sound terse or tense.

"Purple lady?" Oracle looked back up to Oracle with a smirk and nudged him playfully. "Who is this purple lady she's speaking of?"
"You're right, Mother," Winter said, pawing at the ground. For some reason, he felt a frown tug at the corners of his mouth when Cad's little bunny let the 'cat' out of the bag, so to speak. The kindred spirit he was fostered seemed to flicker. Oh well....
He looked back to his mother. "Oh, I don't know. You and Dad are probably my best friends," he said. "I guess I'm just too shy."
She grinned wide seeing the new tag-alongs they'd acquired. "Hello you two.. It's been some time... Tian still chasing dreams?" She smiled once more and sent a knowing wink Tian's way.
Tian gave a shiver of her withers, a small shrug. "Who knows... Dad's likely debating not coming.. And our sister is likely tugging him along by the mane..." She laughed slightly. Looking to Briallan, she gave a sheepish look. "Yeah... well.. I like to travel... It apparently is in my blood." She smiled looking to her mother then back to the family all together.
"Haven.. You've been hiding my great grand son from me.." She gave a mock pout before smiling and lipping at the little mare's forelock and then nuzzling her great grandson once more. "And how hansom he is.. I'll bet he takes after you Haven.." Nodding, she couldn't have agreed more with Keary's words. "Yes yes.. lets get a move on... Daylight is burning after all."
Kamiki
Smiling tenderly, she rested her head along her son's neck. "It's nothing to be ashamed of.." She smiled broadly. "I'll love you no matter Winter.. you're my son.. " Lifting her ears, she looked at Cad. "Purple mare?"
Sighing, he looked at his grandfather then his grandmother and then his uncle.. "She's just a friend.. she lets me study her wings so that I can work on making that gliding contraption better...." Well.. that much was true.. she was his friend and she did let him study her wings.. "She's mostly awake at night you see.. but.. I've been working on something for her so the sunlight doesn't bother her eyes too much..." He gave that look that said he was sure no one would believe any of that no matter what he tried.
