Tales of the ever moving band of gypsies had always existed across the isles. Yet seeing a gypsy apart from her group? That was unheard of. So it was a surprise to the townsfolk when the light green cattaur danced into town with the priestess. One offered entertainment for gold while the other healed and saw things for others. They never stayed long, only long enough to rest for one night and then to move on in whichever direction they were pointed towards. And today as the sun danced over the horizon promising a beautiful day ahead Mihika followed the same path. For weeks she had traveled with Kaiya intent on finding the foxtaur’s love, a warrior with dark fur and eyes as blue as the midnight sky. Her own path was supposed to be somewhere on the way as well. For some reason Mihika had believed enough in the other female’s words that she found herself leaving the band of gypsy thieves to protect the innocent fox. But at this point she didn't care if she ever understood the strange emptiness in her own heart; she just wanted to see the beautiful priestess smile once more. A true smile, not the empty one that she had seen in the towns, that only Xennek could make happen. Mihika sighed as she walked through the trees. Kaiya was resting in town under the care of another healer as a fever had finally gotten hold of the exhausted foxtaur. “It’s not a surprise considering.” All that travel just for a male. Who would do that? Love was such a silly thing. She had told stories of it, danced for it, and even acted it yet Mihika knew nothing of the emotions that drove her friend so desperately. It seemed like just a mess, “Right?” Staring down at her confused reflection the cattaur slowly bent down to scoop up some water from the stream and rubbed it against her neck. Now that was refreshing~

While he wasn't apt to admit it, the winter months were fairly difficult on Fiore. With the flowers either dead or fallen into sleep there was little to peddle in town for the goods he needed. It was during these months he relied on his daughter more, for what she was able to trap and skin not only fed them, but bought much needed material for tunics and blankets. It was a check and balance system that while necessary never sat well with him. As a father he felt low for not being able to give her the world, but seeing the smile on her face after a particularly large kill made him a little more assured. With Lucrezia and Auberon around the long winters seemed to ebb away a little swifter than they had in the past. His hooves were no longer restless for travel, for meaning, and allowed him the rest his soul desperately needed. Fiore had gained a reputation in town for his gentle words and caring attention to the children, even for the flowers that he groomed without magic that always seemed a cut above the rest. As he was entering town to haggle for new goods he found himself in a rather..interesting predicament. The bare branches hung low in this part of the wood, and as his mind mused on other things, his antlers, which had grown large with age, tangled themselves among the bark, causing him to jerk into a rearing position with a yelp. Fiore grimaced, and stepped back, trying his best to deal with the situation himself and only causing his own hair to get tied into the mess.

Blinking Mihika realized that the stillness of the woods was being disrupted. What was making such strange noises? Frowning the female finished filling up her canteen and started to move through the trees towards the noise. Normally one would be afraid of some sort of wild beast ahead, but Mihika’s curiosity drove her more than most. Fear was also something that she had no understanding for. That was why when she went into the woods she didn’t hesitate as she gracefully danced her way around trees and branches toward the sounds.
As she emerged at the scene Mihika immediately let out a laugh, “Oh my.” Grinning she moved a stray curl from her face and looked towards the cervitaur, “It looks like you’re in a bit of a predicament.” Moving a few stray branches away from her own face the cattaur moved next to the cervitaur and reached up towards his antlers, “Hold on a second and I’ll help you.” As her fingers unlaced strands of his hair and the branches from around his antlers Mihika had to pause. Something was off…her gaze flickered to the side as she took a look at the male she was helping. Immediately her heart skipped a beat at the colors of his eyes, but she turned her gaze away to finish working on freeing his antlers.
There was no reason for her to feel so weird, and it wasn’t the first time she had ever been brushed up against a guy like this.

A little flush darkened his cheeks, and a sardonic chuckle escaped from Fiore as well upon seeing the cattaur. "It's not one of my finer moments, no." The older buck tried to keep his struggling at a minimum, though it was hard with his body twisted at such an odd angle. If only this happened on rare occasions, but so was the lift of a cervitaur.
Her touch was soft, and delicate; a welcome relief to the male. If she had been rough he would have worried over his antlers, but such was not the case here. She was a gypsy, that he could tell by the manner of her clothing, but what was a gypsy without her troupe?
As she set about working on the last bits of tangles, Fiore was able to straighten himself up some, though still keeping his torso craned for her to have better access. "Thank you, Miss. I honestly cannot say where I would be without you. Not many taur come this way during this time of year." That was true enough, but her reactions held his curiosity more than the oddness of her arrival. He didn't know better he'd say she was flustered. Ah! She had looked into his eyes; they were a bit unnerving, but not something she should have shunned. Were they bad luck in the gypsy world?

Smiling at the sight of the flush on his cheeks Mihika just shook her head, “Shame then. One might think you were practicing an art hanging here like this.” Her teasing kept her voice light despite the heaviness of her heart. What was going on with her? The cervitaur was handsome yes, but she had seen plenty of handsome taur in her day. Yet here she was trying to hold back her jittering nerves like some teenager! Then his eyes, they were so familiar yet foreign at the same time. Words from Kaiya flickered in the back of her mind but the cattaur quickly shoved them away. That was just foolish…so foolish.
Focusing on his words Mihika let out a soft laugh, “I would say you would be dancing in the wind like a leaf. If you were so unfortunate then later on some young ones would be in for a scare at the phantom dancing in the trees.” While she spoke to keep her heart from dancing out of her chest the cattaur kept working carefully. Soon she pulled out the last remaining branches and held them up for him to move, “If you take a step back then you should be good to go.” It was really getting hard to continue ignoring the heat of his body right next to hers. With her arms holding the branches up in front of him as well she had innocently given him a good view, something that she realized with a faint flush on her cheeks. Please, please step back quickly. For the first time in her life Mihika may have actually believed she was feeling something akin to embarrassment, a feeling she never knew could exist.

Fiore's grin gained a little light as he chuckled once more. "I fear they would never forgive me for that. I'm not one for tricks, and I doubt they would stand for it without retaliation." It might be fun for a moment, but he could easily imagine mudballs in his food and stepping in paint on his way back home. He'd been a father many times over by this point in his life, so those sorts of things were bound to happen.
"Thanks, now if I can just-" Ducking his head, the great buck moved to remove himself from the branches, though not before he got quite a good look at Mihika's assets. Taking a deep breath, Fiore had to force his legs away and stood full once he was out of the mess. While he wasn't completely unused to the feminine body, it was still - Stopping his thoughts there, he took a deep breath, his heart thudding a bit too quick in his chest. Here he was acting like some lewd pervert chasing after a young girl!
Clearing his throat, Fiore put on his best poker face. "I appreciate your help, miss, and if there is anything I can do to return the favor, you need only say so."
