Ruelash didn't particularly hate Sauti. Sauti was actually fairly pleasant, milder than Zena but with spectacular views all the same. He had enjoyed watching the sun rise through the constant haze on more than one solitary adventure, and had camped out in the northern peaks fairly frequently.

After dragging a complaining Aldabuk across it, however, he was starting to.
"C'mon." he snapped at his companion, "Git yer a** movin..." he tugged at the lead, but the Aldabuk still resisted. He didn't know what her problem was - it was all downhill. He glared at her. "C'mon!"

Direk was not amused by this hike. She hadn't been amused when she had been taken over before she had been given to Ruelash, and she wasn't amused now. She was tired of hard ground and sparse browse. She hated it here, and she was making this known.

"Auuugh." Ruelash snarled. Sometimes... often... his pet drove him up a cliff. "Righ. You wan' me to leave you here? 'That what you want? Eh? Is it?" he said, tugging at the lead again.
Of course, he wouldn't actually leave her behind, but he could bluff. "Fine." he said, letting go before continuing down the path.

Direk watched him go, huffing and snuffling before, finally, bounding after him. She didn't want to be alone in this horrid place!

Kiyelt was walking uphill for his last glimpse of wild sailscales before he left this place, Iniu was curled up in his jacket, even her head under the coat, while Norcrest sat on his shoulder. Grumbling about his tie. There was a reason Iniu was snuggled up against him and Norcrest was on a lead. Kiyelt hated to do it, but the beast had been heading for the meat end of the sailscale trade for a reason, he was big buff, not brightly colored and grouchy about captivity.

"Un uh, I'll not see you in a butcher's shop again so you can stop pulling at that lead." He thought the sailscale had figured out what could happen to him if Kiyelt had not preserved his dark hide, and that was probably why Kiyelt only had one scratch on his face and didn't resemble ground meat. This was what being a beast tamer was about, it didn't count if the first one sleeps in your jacket if the second one pummeled you every chance it got.

He heart talk up ahead and looked up to see another Iceling drop his lead line to his pet and stomp away down the hill, the aldabuck soon following after. So he wasn't the only one who had pet trouble.

Ruelash pretended he wasn't worried about Direk falling behind and getting lost in the mountains. So he was actually and privately relieved when he heard her clopping hooves on the stone.
"Oh, lookit ye. Decided to join us, have ye?" he asked, slipping her a treat. "Atta girl. Don't do that again, less ye wanna get lost. Got it?" he bopped her nose, "Good."

Direk huffed angrily, ears back, though she accepted the treat with aplomb. Screw him. The only reason she wasn't biting him was because she had more class than to bite him. Of course, the real reason was that she didn't want to be without her only semblance of a herd in the middle of this terrible place.

Suddenly, she caught a scent, and she didn't like it. She sniffed the air, huffing, before making a baa-ing growl. Ugggggh. Flying claws.

Ruelash smirked, satisfied at her reaction, btu the expression quickly turned grim. He drew his swords, "What is is girl...?" he hissed. A predator? An enemy? Something else?

Whatever it was, bring it on. He wanted a fight.

Sailscales. She hated sailscales.

Kiyelt hailed the other man. 'Hey, my name is Kiyelt, nice to see someone else up here." He said cheerily coming into view. "Nice aldabuck," he commented. She really was a beautiful specimen course most aldabuck whatever the color were pretty too look at. Pity they couldn't fly, he admired them but preffered those with sharper teeth...like radaku and sailscales.

Ruelash didn't relax when he saw it was an Ice earthling approaching him. He almost hpped they were a bandit on the road, come to take his things. He only had chump change on him, and maybe some supplies, but he knew bandits would probably prefer that anyway. Supplies and a coat could get you farther than some stupid pieces of coin.

Or, they could take his Aldabuk and use her or sell her or, heck, eat her. But she was HIS and this fellow- bandit or not- couldn't have her.

"'er name's Direk, aye she's a beaut, aye she came in that color, and no, she ain't for sale." said Ruelash, running through all the annoying answers tot he equally annoying questions he got about his Aldabuk.

He looked Kiyelt over. If the would-be-possibly-wannabe-bandit tried to attack, Ruelash knew he could probably take him.

Yeah. He could take him easily. It might be fun though. He kind of hoped it was a bandit - he was itching for a fight. "What 'ye want." he asked, clearly not the friendliest person

Direk glared at the sailscale. If this man didn't smell of sailscale and have one (two?) of the horrid things clinging to him, then she might like him. As he was, he was polluted by their uncouth presence. She did sense she was being admired, and she trotted closer, a safe distance away from his sailscale 'pollution', and posed.
Look at her.
Look at how regal and poised she was.
Pay attention to her, not to her personal oaf. Her twoleg was not deserving of attention. She was.

"Well obviously she loves/tolerates you, I have my hands full, as for what I want, a simple chat or exchange of news would do. I have no other need then to enjoy my day." Someone had woke up on the wrong side of the mountains, go figure it was his own kind who marred his opinion of others. Now the aldabuck was a lovely lady, properly proud of herself as all creatures should be.

Hmm, from the others body language he was looking for a fight, Kiyelt's first thought was for his sailscales, he would have to send them off to safety and hope that Nor didn't poof on him entirely. He didn't really have a weapon and was only a fair wrestler but desperate times and all that would hopefully save his sorry butt.

"Name's Kiyelt." He added, if they were going to come to blows over...well nothing he wanted to at least know the guys name for future reference. People of the ice may live where it is gold, but that meant they had to have fire on the inside. He sensed this bloke had it and so did he.

Bandits didn't usually give out their names. "Ruelash." he said grudgingly, as if he had to drag his own name out of his mouth. He didn't take his hands from his blades, or the unpleasant leer from his face. "News, eh? Zena's still cold." he said, growling. He was not a chatty person, certainly not in words and even more certainly not to this fellow. Blows, though, blows spoke volumes.

Well if there were sticks in the mud..this one was frozen in. Go figure that the singularly unpleasant creature he had met so far was in fact from his own people. He obviously had spent to much time alone in the cold, so much so that he preferred it that way.. well there was no rule that said Kiyelt was pleasant on principle either.

"Hah funny." He raised up an eyebrow and his face scrunched unpleasantly...how was he going to get past this guy? Small talk evidently wasn't working. Pity he thought he had gotten better at it.

"Okay chatterbox, is this a tolled road, or am I free to pass?" Good mood gone.

"What?" Ruelash laughed harshly, then gestured. "Ain't my road." he growled, "Ain't no bandit." he squinted, "Are ye?" he looked Kiyelt up and down.

Yeah.

A fight would be nice. 'cept...

"Ye don't look like much." said Ruelash, dissappointed, standing aside to make it very clear that he didn't care what the other man did. He really didn't look like he'd be worth the fight, or the time it'd take to beat him.

Because Ruelash did want to get to Sauti before his supplies ran low. That'd be nice, what with his Direk in tow, eating things he couldn't gather from around the providing and harsh tundra.

His pride quirked, Kiyelt snarked out. "How will you ever know if we don't find out now?" Kiyelt bent his knees slightly and stood on the balls of his feet. "You have brought about my bad mood and I know only one way to blow off steam after a long day, how about it? A little wrestle? Don't trip now, wouldn't want you to fall off the mountain."

Ruelash gave him a sketpical look. He really did look wimpy...

But...

This was Ruelash. He wasn't going to say no to a fight. Lose or win, he didn't care.

"Heh." he said. The trek had gotten boring anyway. "Sure."

It was the only warning he gave before he charged at the other man, ready to tackle him to the ground.

Direk huffed unhappily, stomping at the ground as her earthling did another - yet another - uncouth thing. Stupid oaf.

Kiyelt was not nearly as experienced as Ruelash but he was not opposed to a good tussle. So he scrambled out of the way and just got glanced by the blow. He grabbed Ruelash's clothes and tried a swing. If he wanted to play like that then so be it. Iniu flew up hissing at his big and fast movements. She didn't like trying to cling to him when he did that.

Kiyelt grunted, this guy didn't look this heavy, he had misjudged the muscle content it seemed. Uh oh.

The tackle rarely worked, and when it did it wasn't worth the fight. Ruelash grinned as the man grabbed his clothes, and didn't stop moving - in fact he puled forward, hoping to knock him off balance. With a swift movement, he doubled back and attempted an elbow drop, right for the small of Kiyelt's back.

Direk huffed angrily at the fleeing sailscale. It had better not come towards her. She would bite it - she would bite its damn wings off.

Kiyelt caught the blow and grunted. Gosh this grouchy guy hit hard. He wriggled out from under and aimed a kick the moment he could breath again. Not breathing was an unpleasant experience he was not keen on experiencing again. He thought the oaf might have bruised a rib! His precious ribs!

He growled and hoped his kick landed. Iniu cooed at him from a safe distance, he thought it might be a cheer but he wasn't sure. Kiyelt scrabbled through the dirt and rose dust coated his hands and he hoped that wouldn't impede his grip in this grapple. He dropped into a ready position and waited for the infuriated whirlwind to come at him again. His side hurt but he thought he could still move okay....well he hoped.

Ruelash had been waiting to see what the other guy would do. He was starting to feel the fight, the rushing high of adrenaline and battle fury surging, blazingly hot, through his veins.

When the man kicked, Ruelash's grin became wild and gleeful. Oh, so he still had fight in him, did he?

Good.

He was grazed by the kick as he dodged away, and was delighted to see that there was some force behind it. He circled Kiyelt, his hands opening and closing eagerly as he waited for an opening.

"So ye can fight." he commented, his eyes glittering maliciously. He had an idea, and he didn't have them often, and rarely one as fun as this. It was playful and cruel, something he rarely got to enjoy.

He stood up and beckoned, his breathing heavy from exertion and from his rush. "Come at me." his grin was crazed of its own accord as he taunted Kiyelt - He had no intention of giving the man a free shot.
