Kadryn and Kirosh had left the Wild Tribe's camp on Ayr and were headed to the docks. The going was slow since the recent blizzard had covered the misty land in snow. Though the mists no longer clung so thickly to the land, the winds still blew, picking up snow and creating a thicker mist made out of snow.
Kadryn and Kirosh rode their Aiskalan Hastars, and chatted as they slowly wound their way through the twisting snow filled canyons of Ayr. Kirosh was keeping an eye out for an Arrical or Hastar tracks. He still hadn't given up on the idea of catching and training a pack animal. A Hastar would have been nice, something fast and more agile than what he currently had, but the Arrical could fly with Kadryn and help guard her there.
Kadryn was attempting to mend a tear in one of her leather jackets. The result was... messy....
"Urg, why is it so hard to mend things!" She growled and pouted as she looked at the result.
Kirosh looked over at her and chuckled, "You shouldn't try to sew while riding Kadryn, the movement will just mess up your stitches. Do you want to wait here for a bit? I think I've spotted some tracks that were made recently."
"Sure." Kadryn rolled off her mount and walked over to hold Kirosh's while he stalked off into the swirling snow. After a bit, she decided to do some training while she waited for him to return. Giving the Hastars a command to guard, she grabbed her mace from its sling and began to warm up with some basic movement patterns and swings.

Rolling for initiative!
First die is initiative, second is her Defense roll if she goes second!
Defense vs Magic: Master: (15/INT)+ (10 DAM/DEF) = 990+1010= 2000 * 10%= 200 damage blocked
Defense vs Physical: Master: 20/DEF = 2020 * 10% =202 damage blocked
edit: wow.. .a 9 and an 8... if that's any indication on what the dice will give me this battle... I'm doomed....
When someone attacks, you take your damage and then subtract the other person's defense that they rolled right before you attacks.
So if you hit, calculate your total damage dealt.
Armed attack: physical damage: 10 damage per ATK point. So Kadryn's armed attack would be 10 x 74 (her ATK stat)= 740. Now apply your damage die. Let's say I rolled a 50 for this.
Kadryn;s an Expert so using the tables found in the Battler Guide: Kadryn deals 50% of her total attack power. So 740 x .5=370.
She will deal 370 - (Sameal defense) to Sameal
In the post before Kadryn makes her attack, Sameal rolled for defense. Let's say he has a 100 def stat, is capable of using Physical Master defense and rolls a 3. 3 for a Master means only 10% of his defense is used.
For Khehora: Use the same die ranges as Magescians when they reach a certain level. Adept is at level 15, Expert at level 30 and Master at level 50.
So he can block a total of 200x10=2000 physical damage(Kadryn's using Physical damage so you block with Physical defense)
That 3 rolled, means only 10% of his total defense is used. So 2000 x .1= 200
Kadryn applies his defense to her damage to see if she deals any damage:
370-200=170 damage is dealt to Sameal

Rolls I think he uses the "Master" dice rules since he's above level 50...? "I'll go on my own, then!" He'd shouted adamantly, when Samael had been hesitant. The Nekkora had taken off without a second thought, leaving his old man to fume and simmer until he finally launched himself from his cave and took off after his younger Ayrala companion.
They arrived with no trouble. Sam hated to admit that he'd actually wanted Carrion to falter, just a bit, so he'd no that he couldn't take these trips willy-nilly! But no, they landed without incident.
In the cold.
In the snow.
In the blizzard.
Sam scowled, even as Carrion bounced through the snowy patches like some kind of demented reindeer. he hated the cold... The sun was shining and bright back in his desert... But oh well. Carrion would surely get bored and want to turn back before too lo-
"Hey old man! Look!" Ugh, when had that name started? He missed being 'dad' already. But he plodded over to where Carrion was shifting about in excitement, his nose pointed down into the canyons below, where Sam could juuust make out the outline of something moving through the snowy mist. He squinted down at it. Prey? Foe? Eh, it looked... sizable? Probably more eating size than predator-size... And the flight had been long... When would they come across something to snack on again, in weather like this?
"Let's go check it out." Sam decided, fanning his wings and diving down below, with Carrion only a hair's bredth behind him.

Fluffesu Correct, he's a master, math is right, die is right, and Kadryn does pure Physical damage :3 If you look in Kadryn's jornal, you'll see I have all her attacks/defenses just calculated there and I just c/p :3 Faster and easier that way~ I actually edited it in and changed it up so the example should be all correct!Oh poor Sameal... he's an old man now XD Toki would be vastly amused by this... This is mostly a Kirosh post cause you said you'd spotted a moving figure and Kadryn's staying in one place :3 Kirosh had his bow out and was stalking through the snow towards a few Ayralan Hastars when he sensed something.. the Hastars did too. He paused, half crouched with his bow drawn, waiting to see what had set the Hastars on alert. His empty sockets scanned the land about him then flashed towards the skies. They narrowed as he spotted the dark silhouettes against the bright sky. He couldn't see in color, but he could make out shapes and shadows, and those where dragon shaped... though too small to be dragons. Khehora maybe? He thought then frowned in irritation as the Hastars ran off into the mists. Blast. Guess I'll head back to Kadryn then, those are too fast for me to chase. He stood up and looked at the fast approaching figures. That doesn't seem very peaceful.... He rolled quickly behind a rocky spire and readied his bow. If they attacked, he'd defend. If they weren't attacking him, then he'd just slip away without a fight.

Sam landed amongst the snow, sending up a small plume to accent the crunching of his claws against the moist, sticky substance. Hm... All seemed still now, though he'd noticed something fleeing before he could touch down. He took a few hesitant steps toward where he thought they could've been, then paused and glanced down. Were these... two-legger tracks...? With a flick of his tail, he motioned for Carrion to stay close as he carefully plodded after the little indents in the snow. Whatever it was, it was hiding. Which could always mean it was just scared. But with his son just behind him, Carrion didn't want to take the chance that it was actually just waiting to attack. "I know you're there." Sam announced, glaring off in the direction of the tracks.

Fluffesu I must be magic.... XD Um... I think Kadryn just one-shot-ed you.. I got a 100% damage and your defense was too low O.o Battles are so fast at high levels..... So uh... one shot made me change up my rp.. have fun responding.... Sorry if you get multiple notifications from this, editing was done on the post. Kirosh watched the two Khehora land. One was smaller and had a skull on it's head.. oddness. He gave a shrill whistle to summon his Hastars and Kadryn as he stepped out, bow half drawn with an arrow just in case.
"If you knew and didn't attack, I take it you don't mean harm? " Kirosh asked warily as he coked an eyebrow at the odd pair. They aren't related, yet the large one acts very protective. If they did attack, he'd be able to hold them off until reinforcements arrived. He wasn't too worried though. He was confident in his own skills... but he didn't think Kadryn would appreciate being left out!
Kadryn heard the whistle just after the Hastars did. She flared her wings and took to the skies as the hastars bounded towards their master's call. They burst into the scene and snorted angrily as they spotted predators threatening their master. The Hastars dashed forward to put themselves between Kirosh and the Khehora. They didn't charge since Kirosh hadn't given them that signal.
Kadryn spotted the figures and thought that Kirosh needed help. So she dove and landed on top of the larger Khehoran mace first, her large soft feathers making little noise as she dove. As she hit, the Khehoran's wing smashed up and gouged her arm. Her mace hit with a crunch and rang as it connected with the rock hard scales of the Gaili.
"Danger cleared!" Kadryn asked with a smile as Kirosh buried his face in his hands.
"....Kadryn, just cause I gave a whistle doesn't mean attack.... they weren't attacking me just yet..... "
"Oh... " Kadryn looked at the Khehoran she was standing on and nibbled her lip.. "...Sorry?"

Two-leggers were so peculiar about guarding their squishy, vulnerable flesh. Sam could only glower at the strange Oblivionite and his bow, his long tail twitching unamusedly as a couple Hastars sprang forward. Oh! They did have prey with them! The Gaili almost chuckled. He supposed it probably was rather rude to steal someone else's animals, though... Carrion, on the other hand, tipped his head in curiosity. It was the first fully-grown Magescian he'd seen (a bit more sizable than the others he'd met), and his first time seeing a Hastar. They seemed more aggressive than most prey animals, so carrion ambled forward and snorted out his own response, growling softly and fluttering his wings at them. Stupid beasts, letting a two-legger control them.
The Gaili tipped his head. Most two-leggers he'd met had been children. Happy, smiling children that didn't have a care in the world. To meet one that was more interested in fighting was an odd thing. "We've had a long trip from Eowyn." Sam explained to the man. "I thought I spotted something to eat down here, but I guess the snow distorted my vis-" Something landed on him. There was a brief millisecond where the Khehora managed to turn his head and caught a flash of blue before he was on his side on the ground, seeing nothing but blackness.
It was the loud crackling noise of two ungiving things colliding that had Carrion turning away from the Hastars. A loud, shrill squeal escaped him, and he galloped with all his might to where his old man was on the ground. With a roar, he threw himself at Kadryn. "You get off him right now, you stupid, crazy, rude two-legger!" He spat viciously.
Sam was not about to go down because some thoughtless two-legger blindsided him. His emerald orbs popped open and he rolled over onto his stomach.

Kadryn glared at the smaller Khehora with a skull covering it's head. "Rude? You were the one's who threatened Kirosh!"
"Gonna side with him Kadryn, you could have waited and watched to see what happened." Kirosh said as he sighed and leaned up against the Hastars. He saw the other Khehora stir and smiled. Let's see how she deals with this, he thought. Kadryn stuck her tongue out at Kirosh, "You're supposed to be on my side."
"Nah. You did just ambush him when we were just talking. Jumped the boat a little there, love."
"Tsk. So I was itching for a fight.. Can't blame me, it's been quite lately...." Kadryn muttered to herself.
Kadryn felt the Khehora roll beneath her and flared her wings, using the hard scaled body beneath her as a launch pad to jump off of into the sky. She whirled her mace into a ready position and glared at the younger Khehora. "He's alright, see? No need to go name calling like a little kid."

Carrion fumed at the rude woman's brash attitude. Even when her companion told her she was in the wrong, she still didn't even apologize! He spared a glance to the other two-legger. He seemed much more considerate and well-mannered. Carrion couldn't blame him for being weary, but at least he didn't bludgeon someone like a voracious beast! What was he doing with this woman? They clearly weren't anything alike... The young Ayrala's tail swished and he sighed in relief as Samael shook himself out and rose to his claws. "Dad!" He shouted, running up to press his muzzle into Sam's side.
Sam rose with a low growl, his emerald orbs flashing up to the sky to land on the reckless woman who'd just assaulted him. Was he in the wrong for wanting a little revenge? She had just floored him right in front of his kid... As Carrion's maw pressed against him, he decided that no, he was perfectly justified. He gave a dismissive flick of his tail toward Carrion, nudging the younger male a bit with his shoulder to put a bit of space between them before he erupted the earth around him, creating a pyramid-shaped defense around himself. He was still a touch groggy... In this condition a successful counterattack would be difficult...

Fluffesu Kadryn's not attacking this round, she's using items! Uses her Life Boost potion (Permanently increases LP by 50) as well as using her Life Potion (aka, healing potion. +50 heals) Kadryn's Stats xxxxxLP: 494 +100 (total health is now 855+50=905!)=594 xxxxxENG: 755
Kirosh sighed. He could tell from the look from in the Khehora's eye that he was going to attack back... He shrugged; if Kadryn was in need of help, he could jump in. But she was a barbarian and able to take care of herself.. let's just hope she doesn't go berserk...
Kadryn saw the glare and grinned at the Gaili. She would totally love it if he fought back! Dad? How in the world re those two related? She thought with a smile as she fished out a few potions and drank them to heal the gouge on her arm that the Khehora had gotten on her as she dove.
"Oh don't worry, your Da's not going down that easily. Maybe I can get some good sparring against him...." She flipped her Mace onto her shoulder and fluttered about above the rocky mound, figuring it would be best to remain off the ground since she was facing a Gaili.
Kirosh sat down and patted the ground next to him for Carrion to come over.
"Just sit over here an watch. Kadryn's been spoiling for a fight anyways, might as well see how your Da fares after getting ambushed."

Carrion glowered skeptically at the strange two-legger's invitation to take up a post near him. He didn't want to sit idly by! He was an adult now! Didn't that merit him being some kind of threat himself? He wasn't as big or as awe-inspiring as his Dad, but... He was still a feral Khehora in his own right! He glanced skyward to glare at the woman floating about up there. Hmph... Didn't that stupid two-legger know his dad could also fly? Stupid woman. Then he turned his crimson orbs to the earthen barricade Sam had created around himself. Even Carrion realized there wasn't much for him to do now... With a huff, he plodded over to sit a rigid as a rock right next to the Oblivionite two-legger. "I don't care if she's spoiling for a fight." Carrion muttered. "That doesn't give her the right to attack someone for no reason. i thought you two-leggers had people like her locked up."

Fluffesu Oh no.. Carrion.. don't piss Kirosh off.. He's part of the Wild Tribe.. they like ambushing people and being free! Lock her up? O.o Oh noes.... Wow, I was hoping we could do like a happy sparring thing XD it's so much fun when Rp's take a different turn than you thought they would! Total things removed form inventory: 1 Life Booster, 1 Healing Potion, 1 Peisio Orb. Kadryn is taking Sameal seriously XD Plus I want to use an orb in battle... Kadryn reached into her bag and pulled out a Peisio orb. She'd heard you could use the powers of the dragon if you crushed their orb.... She'd never done it before, but her arm was hurting and still bleeding. It was on her dominant arm too... not something she wanted. Guess I'll try and see if this works! I've always wondered how it was to use magic... plus Peisio's can heal.... She grinned as she felt the cool wet sensation of power flowing about her. Nibbling her lip and narrowing her eyes in concentration, she let the watery power flow towards her arm and smiled as she saw the wound finally stop bleeding. This is... odd. Nice, but odd. I think I prefer to hit stuff, she thought.
Kirosh looked at the bone head next to him. "Lock her up? Why, cause she ambushed a large creature that looked like it was threatening her partner?" This one may be adult sized, but he certainly sounded very young and bratty! Lock Kadryn up? Lock anyone up? Kirosh frowned. He'd been to the jails before, spent a few nights in one too. The only use of a jail is to have something to destroy.... "Try to see from another's point of view kid. It may have looked sudden to you, but she did hear me whistle for reinforcements.. which meant there was danger. In that case, she was fully justified to attack before I got hurt. As for locking people up; the Wild Tribe doesn't lock anything up. In fact, we tend to destroy those types of buildings every chance we get."
Kadryn lazily floated above Sameal, blissfully unaware of the conversation. The wind was doing a nice job of scattering the words before they reached her. The Hastars stood on guard away from the Khehora's. They didn't like the scent and wanted their master away from that predator! But he hadn't given the attack signal yet....

Sam could feel his strength returning to him slowly. Painfully slowly. He felt... a bit better, after having his spine smashed by a mace, though he doubted it would last for too much longer... He knew he couldn't sit behind these boulders forever, especially not since he'd left his little Carrion on the other side of them. He couldn't hide for much longer. At least, not like this. But maybe with these last few moments, he could prepare for a new defense. From his sling-pack, he pulled out one of his Gaili orbs. Now that he'd completed the transformation, he didn't have too much a use for them anymore... But maybe this dragon could grant him it's power. Just for a little bit. With a sigh, he crushed it beneath his claws, feeling the extra surge of Gaili magic.
Carrion visibly bristled, the spines along his neck lengthening and protruding at the ridiculous two-legger's defense. "No, you try and see from someone else's perspective. She could've hurt him, killed him for doing absolutely nothing except talking to you and being bigger than you!" He spat, his tiny body quivering with frustration. Hmph! If Carrion attacked anything that looked threatening to his petite size, well, he'd be attacking everything! These were the most thoughtless creatures! How dare this two-legger even try and justify attacking an innocent?! His ruby orbs narrowed behind the bone-white skull on his head. Destroy the building where criminals and murderers and traitors were kept? He must be a particularly unsavory sort, himself... Carrion wasn't a two-legger. When someone wronged his clan, they were banished, or, in worse cases, executed. But he'd heard two-legged criminals were punished by being locked away from everyone they'd wronged. He had to admit that it sounded like a decent system, so long as no one dangerous escaped...
But this guy... Carrion huffed softly and fluttered his wings. He wanted no part of this stranger's activities. If he went around attacking innocent people and destroying buildings that were there for the good of the population, then the young Nekkora didn't want to be anywhere near him! Some of that evil nature may rub off...
