User ImageThe dragoness was a little beside herself this place was beautiful and she could hardly ask for more, but even though he tried to hide it their golden host couldn't get past the purple black taint on her wings. She could hardly, she'd gotten lots of looks at home too. He was a pure of course and that's why he looked at her funny. she was just as ancient as the gold yet without fail this would still bother her, and always get a rise from her and every time she had to with hold her anger...

The gold had explained about a black dragoness on the edge of his territory that led into a marsh part of his forest had rotted and festered yet he did his best to keep the corruption at bay by burning it back in a controlled manner, sure enough though when it had regrown so returned the corruption and decay.

It didn't make it any easier. Valamaradance knelt down and nuzzled one of the flowers at her feet taking in a deep breath of the scent, the growth here was always beautiful the gold's tending must help a lot. She wondered why he ever decided to live here in the first place away from the society Golds were usually so righteous.

No matter she tossed her head to get the thought out of her mind as she came to the sicker part of the wood which wasn't as green and different plants began to grow, ones that liked shade and heavier moisture in the soil. Vala could feel her hooves sinking into the soil more, but she could go more any further would lead into the black mare's territory. Instead, the mare stayed on the edge. she almost wished she could talk to the black mare but she knew better, Even their own kin they don't often trust, and prefer to lay in their swamp. While she preferred the light a golden glint though caught her eye.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Ngalnamam's head was situated in the water such that only her eyes were poking out. This required that her head be tilted upwards, and reduced the amount of visibility she had, it was a comfortable way to sit. The crocodilians that inhabited their swamp always sat like this, although they were better shaped for that. They were also better colored for that--the swamp was all greens and blacks, but she herself was bright brown. As it was, her head probably looked like black rocks balanced on a piece of rotting wood at best. Oh well. There wasn't much to threaten her...except possibly the gold dragon.

Mummy said that beyond the borders of the swamp dwelled a gold dragon who hated them all. He ruled the forest with metallic fangs and regularly burned the edges of the forest in a futile attempt to keep the swamp at bay. He sounded terrifying. Ngalnamam had resolved to avoid him at all costs. That, however, might prove a problem. Y'see...Ngalnamam wanted to visit her father. Fahargiga wasn't sure where he came from, except that he was a desert dweller, but that didn't matter. The brown wyrmling rather liked the idea of a desert. It sounded beautiful, and the arid climate would do her thick scales well. Mummy's scales were covered in a wet membrane for breathing through, but annoyingly, Ngal had inherited nothing of the sort. Swimming was fun and all, but so was being dry and basking in the--what was that?!

There was a glint of gold somewhere off in the woods. She was quite close to the edge of the swamp here. She wasn't quite close to the charred edges, but they occasionally got random bits of wildlife wandering in here. Ngal tilted her head just so. The gold dragon? Should she duck under the floating moss to avoid their vindictive neighbor? But a second glance calmed her down. This dragon walking towards her was dark-colored, with the gold showing as hints and flashes, as if her scales were almost iridescent. She was very pretty. And she was definitely female. Obviously not the gold dragon. Under the water, Ngalnamam reached out her fin and touched her sister's body to alert her to the presence of the adult.

User ImageVutha contently lay uner the murky waters beside her sister. She had infact inherited the mucus her mother's scales had an enjoyed the wet damp of the swamp but too did want to meet her father just as much as her sibling. She wondered what it was like though, dry she expected the foal wondered what that would feel like. Ngal moved or shifted and Vutha could feel the ripple in the water perking up to the touch of her sister.

Vutha's darker fin emerged from the water like a shark. Peeking she gazed at the pretty mare "Who is that?" she whispered, not moving. She had different colors that the scary gold they had been warned about and fur? Was she the gold's daughter? Mother had said he had no kin and he was super scary. But she didn't look as scary, She had eyes like them too.

The wyrmling glanced at her sister. Mother had told them to stay way, but She was curious. It had always looked so pretty over there she wondered why. And the dragoness didn't seem inclined to enter into her mother's territory, or something like that... what was she waiting for?

Without waiting for her sibling as the other dragoness's gaze fell on their general location she shyly popped her torso out of the water.

Valamaradance hardly expecting a tiny form to pop out of the swamp water, a Wyrmling? The black had children? That was a surprise, their host had said nothing about the black having children. Vala wondered how someone could have gotten in an out of the woods without the black dragoness tearing them apart.

No matter the child was here, or there she supposed. The child seemed timid, like they were scared of something? Strange as it was, she should not associate with them according to hierarchy, but the same should be said with her. Their host should not have let them stay. Though she was grateful he had.

"Hello child," she ventured softening her voice as best she could so not to scare the poor wyrmling away.

Well, if Vutha was going to stick her head out of the water, then so was Ngal. Her own dorsal fin was lying flat against her skull, but once her head breached the surface, then her fin rose like a sail. It wasn't as pretty as her sister's, but she still liked having fins. She liked how they reflected her moods. "Hi!" she said. She didn't call out, she didn't shout--didn't want to attract her mother's attention, she hated other dragons (well, dragons other than her daughters, of course), but neither did she whisper. This gold dragon probably wasn't going to hurt them. "I like your stripes. They're super pretty. What's your name? My name's Ngalnamam. This is my sister, Vu-tha-var-ar-thos." She frowned as she tried to wend her way through her sister's name. Her own name was easy, but Vutha's was really long and difficult to pronounce. But Mama had had a reason for giving her that name, so who was she to question it?

Much to Valamaradances surprise another child popped out of the water, the dorsal fin flat against the filly's brown and black scales for only a moment before it went straight back up. Vala was even more surprised when the new head spoke up. She'd expected the two to run back to her mother and the angry black to come flying from the swamp. These two, neither one of them was a pure black. The one filly looked much more like her mother however, she had a lovely mane and bright golden horns. Vala couldn't see below the murky water.

Vala chuckled the child liked her stripes, she hadn't really thought of her stripes as pretty, she'd rather she didn't have them honestly. they were a reminder along with her tarnished purple-blackish color, but the child probably didn't know that. They seemed far to happy... Vala was jealous. " Thank you, they're my mother's." The dragoness explained It's a pleasure to meet you both, Ngalnmam, and Vuthavarthos. She said addressing each filly. though she stayed cautiously where she was. She didn't want to fight another dragon, she disliked it. So out of respect for the other resident she remained. An angry mother was a much more dangerous foe. "My name is Valamaradance, I came with my three other siblings we fell into the forest." she explained. The golden dragon had been kind enough to host them allowing them to live there to gain their bearings on the world.

Vutha popped right out of the water with a smile "Right, right she's really pretty!" Vutha beamed to her sister. and much to Ngal's dismay Vutha quite liked her name "Right! I'm Vuthavarthos." she was a smidge louder than her sister but hopefully still not enough to attract the attention of their mother. She wanted to talk to this odd dragon.

being a solara novae She couldn't really come out of the water. She kinda wished Vala would come closer, she was shiny. Well mostly her scales gleamed. Vutha wondered if her scales would ever get that pretty. She had little stars in her red eyes watching the mare. See she was nice! though Momma hated other dragons.

Ngal beamed at the mare. "It's nive to meet you, Va-la-mara-dance," she said slowly. It was another strange name, hard to pronounce, but just as with her sister's name she was determined to get it right. It was a pretty name for a pretty dragon. Then again, dragons usually had pretty names. "What are your other siblings like? Do you have a sister like I do? Sisters are nice." She grinned at Vutha. She loved having a sister, and she loved being a sister. She hoped Valamaradance did as well.

"What kind of dragon are you?" she added. Her mother had said that there were lots of different kinds of dragons, but she'd said that dragons that were chromatic were different from dragons that were metallic. Valamara was a whole bunch of colors. She was black and gold, too--if it wasn't for the fact that Mummy said that they were her first babies, she could believe that Valamara was her sister, too, since she was gold like the gold dragon but black like Mummy and Vutha. Then again, she was covered in fire stuff, while Mummy was more of an acid dragon. (Heck, so was Ngal for that matter!) So what kind of dragon Valamara was was a little confusing. "I mean, other than a nice dragon, obviously," she added, because duh, she was a very nice dragon! She hadn't attacked them or anything! She just seemed...genuinely nice, and that was a wonderful thing to have in a neighbor. "Does the gold dragon bother you, or are you related and he's nice to you because you're related?"

She'd never been called pretty before by anyone. It really must be nice to be an innocent child. She carefully kept herself as least menacingly as possible. she watched the children they were so curious and eager, it did make her smile a bit "I do, her Name is Kastrandrethilian, though you can call her Kastra, and myself Vala if you'd like." The shortened name might be a bit easier for the young dragonets to say. "I also have two brothers."

there it was, the children were confused about what kind of dragon she was. She wasn't surprised. It still hurt a bit though, she wasn't very fond of her mixed blood in itself. They were young and curious, children were to be forgiven. "I am a mixed blood, I have a bit of Gold, black and Incarnum within me, though I have more than that those are just what shows. I am sure our host finds me distasteful but he is very polite, he doesn't bother me or my siblings at all." she smiled at the children but then was rather surprised by the other question. "On no, no," she answered quickly "the Gold that resides here is not my father, my siblings and I fell together, I suppose you could say he's nice because he's dutiful and takes care of those who need it." It was despite some of the questions rather enjoyable to speak to the dragonets "You young ones are quite nice too."

Vutha nodded with Ngal as she asked questions. She was indeed curious Just like her sister. Vutha though noticed how shiny the hybrid's scales were, they were really pretty and flaming She wanted to get a better look. "Hey! Miss Vala can I look at your scales?"

Vala hesitated "Won't your mother be angry if I come over there? It's her territory."

Vutha thought for a moment and grumbled, she wanted to see Vala's Shiny scales but Vala was right Mommy would probably be upset if another dragon stepped into her territory. But the scary gold didn't seem to upset to share his? Why was that? Momma wouldn't stand for that at all. she Sunk a bit into the swamp pouting. Vala was probably right momma would be upset.

"If I may ask little ones what kind of dragons are you?" She could definitely tell they both had a bit of Black in them as it was much clearer the resident black was definitely their mother based on the black one alone. The other though was brown with some black features. What kind of dragon could their father have been. Vala couldn't' help but wonder

Ngal had never heard of "incarnum" before, but black and gold sounded about right, based on her scales. Gold would explain the flamey bits, too, since gold dragons were fire dragons. Mummy had told them about all kinds of dragons, what they were like, which ones they could trust to honor an agreement, which ones were nasty and would lie (greens were trustworthy, but never trust a red, apparently). She supposed the fact that Vala was part black might make them very distantly related to each other. She liked the idea of that--it was nice to have Mummy and Vutha, but it would be even nicer to have a bigger family, too, and she liked the idea of having a cousin. Cousins sounded nice, like a sibling but you didn't have to fight over food with them. "I guess that's nice of the gold dragon. Mummy says he's mean and hates us--he keeps trying to burn our swamp. He thinks it's full of death and disease." Ngal nodded to a fat frog sitting on a log nearby. "That's just silly. There's lots of things that live here. Everything's alive. Even that log is alive!" The log blinked its clear sideways eyelid in agreement, and the frog croaked.

Ngal glanced at Vutha. She did seem very curious, and maybe they could talk Mummy out of being upset... "I think it's okay if you come closer, so long as you don't touch us. If Mummy smells another dragon on us, she's gonna lose it, she's really worried about us getting hurt."

Ngal smiled at the question. "We're half-black," she said. It was a weird question--unlike Vala, she and her sister were pretty obvious. They didn't look like a meld between chromatic and metallic, like Vala was. "But only half, 'cause Daddy was a merman. We haven't met him yet," she added. "But Mummy says we should go looking for him when we grow up and reconnect with him."
