The wind's breath danced through the valley of green carrying a comforting chill beneath the sun's rays. The tall grass swayed with the slightest nudge from the wind and the leaves of tree followed suit. It was here they would meet, in this peaceful valley that had known no conflict. He stood overlooking the valley below and beyond. It was gorgeous here, the fresh air was more than welcome as it filled his lungs.

The blonde exhaled feeling the warm touch of the sun upon his skin. He closed his eyes and allowing himself to slip into memories. It was on a nice day like this that he met her. Ellale, or rather "Pretty Kitty" as he was known to call her. Their first meeting was him greeting her enthusiastically and she greeted him right back.

Ever since, they had been attached at the hip...or at least used to be. Lloyd loved the girl however, a lot had happened to cause a rift in their relationship. Those more...unfavorable memories rose as well. Leaving her alone with Tae to deal with on the airship, and ultimately just getting more and more distant. However...was now the time to mend that? Ever since her awakening she had wanted to fight but Lloyd forbid it.

Now she wanted to prove her strength to him. They say that two people can truly understand each other only when they cross blades. Today, let that be proven true. Lloyd opened his eyes and turned to his right where she stood. "Are you sure about this? I won't hold back you know." He said giving her one last chance to back out if she wanted.

She was standing with her back to him, eyes closed. Her hair, pulled back with a long shaft that covered part of her hair, blew in the wind freely behind her as she stood, enjoying the wind. Her arms were hanging limply at her sides and she was smiling, clearly happy with the feeling of the wind on her skin. It had been a long time since she'd felt this feeling, being trapped in the city for so long, and coma prior to that. Lloyd's voice cut through the quite blowing of winds, causing Ellale's smile to slowly fade from her face as she looked down. Her eyes slowly opened, the yellow hues staring at the tall grass around her legs before she let out a breath and turned to face him with a bright smile again. "Hey." She stated brightly, closing her eyes. She certainly looked much different from the girl he remembered when they met. Hair dyed, a much more tame perspective. She didn't remember him, of course. He knew that though, she didn't remember any of that. Still, she knew he wasn't kidding.

"I'd want nothing less. I'm not weak anymore, I won't let her fight on her own while I wait behind, wondering if she'll come back. I'm not a child anymore." In response, she pulled free the handguns from the back of her waist and spun them loosely in her hands. They were solid weapons, with a blade under the barrel so they could be used in close quarters combat. They were more clumsy to use than actual daggers, but they worked fine. And if they failed, she had her daggers,stored near the same area.

Paradise Lost

"Lets go! I'll show you I don't need to be sheltered anymore!" Ellale stated firmly, raising her handguns to be pointing them at Lloyd.

((OOC: Song of the moment smile )

User Image
A pained smile crossed Lloyd's lips. It was always about Tae wasn't it? This was something he faced long ago but there was a twinge of discomfort in his sigh. He looked at her now and sized her up. She was different now. No memory of the past and molded by the choices she made in the present. It was still hard to believe. At first Lloyd was resentful, but now he could see that even though her memories were gone, Ellale was still herself. Her smile confirmed that. Lloyd couldn't help but laugh at the situation.

Was he really going to do this? Maybe he should just call this off himself, but then again that wouldn't be fair would it. Ellale's determination burned in her eyes and Lloyd had to answer her. A grin spread on his face and his own gaze now blazed in challenge. "Those are some mighty big words Pretty Kitty, but can you back them up?" His pile bunker sparked to life as he lashed it out before kicking up his spear laying in the grass and flourishing it into a low stance. Ellale pointed her weapons at him and the wind swayed the tall grass.

Silence.

Lloyd's gaze was friendly but quickly sharpened waiting for the right moment. Slowly water serpentine up his arm and took a loose shape. The moment the wind halted, it began. "Water!" Lloyd lashed forward the spell which darted for Ellale's abdomen before bursting. With his calling card sent, Lloyd dart behind spinning his spear in a figure 8 continuously before swinging in a horizontal arc. Quickly following up, he sharply spun rocketing a kick for her temple.

{{Ooc:// Paradise Lost }}

There were few things that triggered emotional responses in Ellale that seemed to hail from a time before she'd lost her memory. One of them was his confidence. It made her want to strive even harder to prove that she didn't need to rely on him, or Tae for that matter, to stay alive. She would do it, she wasn't a kid anymore. She may have lost two years while the rest of them got stronger and grew up, but she wouldn't be behind them. She refused to be the one left behind. That was why her stance didn't faulter as he asked if she could back it up. Her eyes were narrow and she faced Lloyd intently. The wind blew past the pair, the swaying grass the only sound in the air. She was reading everything, the distance between them, the direction of the wind, how it would effect any rounds fired from a gun, the humidity in the air. These were not things she remembered why she could do, but rather memories that her body recalled. The skills she had learned from being a sniper had not been lost.

Lloyd struck first, Ellale slipping to the side as the water tore through the air where she had been. It was a simple opening, and she knew he was doing it to get her to move. Four rounds left her handguns, cutting through the air where Lloyd had been, though his movement made all four miss. He was much faster than her, that much was clear as he darted after her and was on her, swinging his spear. She grunted as she used her weapons to block the blow, the impact jarring her wrists. He was quick to follow up with a kick for her head though. Swinging her left arm up, she parried the kick, her handgun aimed directly at him before firing three rounds. She knew Lloyd didn't use a ranged weapon like her, so staying at a distance was best for her, the only issue was that he'd close the distance instantly or throw spells at her. She couldn't compete with someone who could use magic like him, speed, strength, or magic wise at all.

She pulled back as she fired regardless opening up fire with her other weapon as well, trying to at least put enough distance that she could prepare for his next strike without worry of it coming too fast to prepare for it.
