Valkyrie waited patiently inside the door to her mansion. She knew she was supposed to get a house guest today, and she had spent a week cleaning to make sure it was perfect. Normally she would let the maid do it, but it had to be perfect if royalty was going to be staying in her house! She didn't know how long she would have her guest, but it wasn't supposed to be too long. Her job was to teach this long forgotten princess how to behave like upper-class again, but she figured that if the princess was really of royal blood, it wouldn't take long. Royalty doesn't just "forget" how to behave, its a part of who they are! She had put on her best clothes, had the cook make an extravagant meal, and how she sat in the entryway fidgeting with her hat and waiting for the princess to arrive.

Rosalinna looked around at the large mansion she was walking up to. It was huge and was somewhere she would never ever in a million years go on her own. But she didn't have a choice today since she was being forced to come here since she was apparently some sort of royal. It sounded as if it would be a pain and something that would make her have to act fake. She really hated being fake and not being who she really was. She had someone standing next to her calling her princess this and princess that. It was starting to make her go crazy she was no princess she was just Rose but apparently she was a princess. She reached down and touched the gems on her leg. The cool smooth surface calmed her down and made her very happy. She took a very deep breath to calm herself down and then put on a smile as she knocked on the large door to the mansion waiting to be let in and meet this person who was supposed to teach her how to be a princess again. She wasn't sure how that would go but she was willing to give it a shot and who knows maybe she would like the person and be able to have some fun with this proper person get them to loosen up.

Valkyrie opened the door for her princess and....was disappointed. Her hair was shaggy, short and messy. she wasn't wearing any finery, except for some beads on her leg. They really weren't kidding when they said she was a mess! Valkyrie figured that she should at least try...
"Come inside madame. Welcome to my home. What shall I call you by, princess?"

Rosalinna waited for someone to open the door and bowed to the woman who had been with her. The other one had been nice and she thanked her then jumped as the door opened. She frowned as she saw the way this proper woman looked at her. She watched the woman look at her hair and everything else. She stood up tall and held her head high to hide the mischievous smirk that was playing along her lips. So this one didn't approve of her owe well maybe she would be fun to play with. She bowed her head. "Thank you Ma'am." She walked right next to the woman and smiled as she stood right next to her. "My name is Rosalinna but you my dear can just call me Rose." She winked as she said this.

Valkyrie watched with disdain as the woman bounced through the door. She already didn't like her attitude, but the nonetheless she figured she had to at least give that woman a shot.
Nice to meet you Madame Rosalinna. A name truely fit for a royal. I, am Valkyrie. Valkyrie Vanier. There is food waiting in the dining room, just down the hall, if you should prefer. If not, I can show you to your room.

Rosalinna saw the disdain in the other noodle's eyes and tilted her head. Oh this one did seem like such a perfect know it all this might be a lot of fun to play with her. She smirked as she was called Madame now that was new. "Just Rose is fine my dear. No need to call me Madame." She bowed her head. "It is a pleasure to meet you miss Valkyrie. May I call you Val or some other nickname?" She looked down the hall and chuckled as her stomach rumbled. Yes food sounded really good. "Thank you food would be wonderful it was such a long journey and I would love something to eat." She moved to walk down to the dinning room.

Valkyrie didn't understand this young girl. Why?...why is she so ignorant of her status? She heaved a sigh and tried to respond without sounding disrespectful. You are a princess, Madame Rosalinna. I must call you by your title and your full name, not by some silly peasant nickname. And as such, you may not call me by a nickname. I am to be called Valkyrie or Miss Valkyrie. You are fortunate that I am not forcing you to call me by my last name too. Consider this your first lesson. She rolled her eyes and calmly walked into the dining room, which contained an exceptionally large table with place mats already set. She grabbed her fancily folded napkin and laid it across her lap. She set all of her silverware items in their proper positions and called to the waiter bring over the appetizers. "Well, Madame, won't you take a seat?" she called, looking back at Rosalinna.

Rosalinna watched this one's reaction to what she was doing and how she was reacting to things. She was curious but then pouted as she was told she had to be called by her full name. It was so boring and formal she really did prefer Rose and being told she had to call this one by some long name and title. She didn't think she wanted to do that. "I really would prefer to be called Rose over Rosalinna or Madame Rosalinna it is such a long title and such. I would also rather call you Val or maybe even Kyrie Miss Valkyrie is not as much fun. So maybe I'll just stick with calling you by the nickname." She smirked as she said this and sighed as she had seen the rolling of the eyes. Really that was a mature reaction she looked around at everything on the table and sighed. Oh great she had to be fancy and formal. She had no idea which fork was used for what and all of that it had never mattered before. She fiddled with the emeralds on her leg and sighed wondering why this was all happening. And why now? She looked at the seat and shrugged as she sat down and pulled the folded napkin off of the table. She began to fold it in an intricate pattern to take her mind off of what she was thinking about. She didn't want to worry so she focused on the image she was trying to make.

Valkyrie:She snapped her head to look back at princess who had the NERVE to sass her. Never was such a thing okay in her home. Ever. She had the urge to just kick the female back to the streets, but she feared being outcast herself if she couldn't even handle a princess. She waited for the girl to have a seat before tearing into her, almost forgetting her proper speech. "Now you listen here Madame Rosalinna, I am NOT going to tolerate such an attitude towards myself in this house! Do you understand? It is a gift that you are being allowed to stay here, not a right! And I didn't ask to do this, so don't be cross with me for doing my job. Now shape up and act like a princess!" She stopped yelling, fixed her hat, and called for the waiter to bring over the salads. She picked at her food, feeling bad for yelling at the girl, but she had to learn somehow.

Rosalinna watched Valkyrie and waited to see what this proper woman would do with being talked back to. Rosalinna was not the type to just roll over and do as she was told. She watched and saw that the woman seemed to be getting angry and wondered what she had done to anger this one so much. She wasn't even being that sassy or troublesome yet. She had only argued back this might be a very interesting time if just arguing with Val got this much of a reaction. She continued to hold her napkin making the creases sharp and smiled. She looked up as Valkyrie began to yell at her. Her head was tilted to the side as she listened and bit her lip hard so she wouldn't laugh. It was just so funny and if this one threw her out it was no big deal she would just have to find somewhere else to stay. She hadn't asked to be here or be a princess. But she pretended she looked very hurt by the words and her eyes shone with tears as she tried very hard not to laugh. She kept the pout on her face and looked down refusing to look at the food and just kept folding the napkin. Her tail swished rubbing against the emeralds and she debated about sneaking out and leaving at night maybe that would be better. This one seemed to resent having to teach her.

A growing sense of guilt overcame Valkyrie as she watched the girl tear up. She couldn't help but feel that there was something odd about it, something fake, but nonetheless the poor thing was beginning to get upset over something she said. She picked at her food, taking a bite or two, before reluctantly deciding that she should apologize. The girl was probably just overwhelmed is all. I'm...I'm terribly sorry madame. You see, I was assigned to your case and failure would be an utmost loss of dignity for me. I never meant to take that anxiety out on you. We are both here for a reason, and I would highly appreciate it if you worked with me, not against me on this matter. what do you say? She looked at the girl, hoping not to encounter more back sass. She had faith that there was still hope for her new house guest.

Rosalinna continued to look down at her napkin as the silence dragged on. She bit her lip a bit harder but was very careful not to draw blood. She had seen how some reacted to the sight of blood and wasn't in the mood to deal with a freak out. She heard the sound of the fork against the plate as if the food was being played with and not actually eaten. That wasn't a very good sign. She wiped away the tears. She was shocked by what Val said and looked up staring in utter disbelief. She waited to hear what else would be said after the sorry and tilted her head. "Who says you are going to fail? And if I don't get this stuff then it's my own fault not anyone else's. But could you please either call me Rose or Rosalinna adding madame is so formal and cold feeling. And since we are both here and I have no one else I would like to at least feel a tiny connection to someone. Thank you for apologizing to me Val." She couldn't help but call Valkyrie by a nickname. "I will try to work with you but I don't make promises unless I am sure I will keep them so the best I can give you is me saying I will do my best to try and work with you." She was starting to feel really lonely and picked at her salad with one of the forks. She had no idea if she picked up the proper fork or not. In her mind it didn't really even matter it was just a fork what was the harm in just using any fork?

Valkyrie:She had tried to explain, and yet the girl STILL refused to cooperate. She didn't understand the "trying to work with you" aspect of it all. In her mind, she either was going to do what says or chose not do what she says. One or the other, that was it. All this malarkey was coming from her house guest who was not even grateful for her effort. Valkyrie heaved a sigh and watched the girl pick up the incorrect fork. She was utterly hopeless. You're either going to listen to me or you're not, Madame. There's no maybe or try to about it. The fact that you are STILL calling me by this "Val" name means that you are openly disrespecting me, and I DO NOT appreciate it. Please, get yourself together soon or this is going to be a long and painful stay here in this house. Now eat your salad, its raspberry walnut dressing and the cook worked hard. Do not be ungrateful for my hospitality, even if its forced. She turned away, nibbling on her salad which instead of raspberry dressing had been coated in watered down blood. She used it as a way to get what she needed without others having to know. It looked and smelled identical to the other dressing, so this way she could hide her habits but still not go hungry. She took a few more bites and watched the annoying newcomer, fearing that This would be a most unpleasant experience if she kept up her attitude.

Rosalinna looked down at her plate and was really starting to dislike this place. It felt so cold and distant as if the very building were saying she wasn't good enough. She wanted to go back home and be with her friends who just treated her like a person and weren't so cold or formal. But that didn't seem to be a possibility for her. She sighed as Val got mad at her again. She would listen to somethings but she knew there were others that she wouldn't be able to listen to. That is why she said she would try. She growled at being called Madame still. She hated that. She wasn't being disrespectful by calling Valkyrie a nickname there was no disrespect in it but this one didn't care it seemed it was either Val's way or the high way. Well tough she was not going to bow down and be some meek little girl who did everything someone told her to for no reason. She bit her lip hard when she was yelled at to eat and told she was ungrateful. She bit down so hard she drew blood but Rosalinna didn't care she just bit down harder. She ate the salad it tasted good but when it was done she put the fork down and bit her lip again as she continued to turn her napkin into a pretty creation. It was better than yelling at the prim proper know it all who didn't care about her. She could yell and scream and what ever else once she was in her room and away from this lady. No matter what she said it was wrong so for now she was done speaking. She didn't notice some of the blood had slid down onto her chin.

Valkyrie called for the other food to be brought to the table and turned back to her house guest. She noticed the blood dripping down her chin and her mouth watered slightly. She had years of practice to control her hunger instincts so she didn't react to the dripping liquid. Rosalinna, I think you have something on your chin. You might want to clean it up. It's impolite to not clean up while eating. She didn't say it rudely, or even sternly, but she looked away form the blood and gulped down her salad hungrily.
