The grey and white stallion almost blended in with the snow. If he had been laying down, it would've been quite easy to walk past him, unaware that he was near. As it were, he was on his feet, nose pointed down at the ground as he nudged a bit of snow across the field, making it roll and gather more snow. Soon it would be a good kicking size, he was sure!

It was a miserable walk through the snow to the open field. The cold worked it's way into his bones every time he left the warm, if not rather cramped, den he'd been sharing lately. And when the cold started working into his leg, his leg quickly became sore. Unfortunately, the field was quickly becoming the easiest place to dig out grass and other edibles from under the deep snow, so there wasn't much of a choice. Walk to the field, or go hungry. By the time he arrived he was a limping mess.

Seb bumped the snowball along, grinning as he saw it grow bigger before his eyes. His full attention was on the ball, and he had absolutely no idea that there was even another horse nearby. He chased it around the field, making a straight line right for the newcomer.

Chane almost didn't see him until it was too late, "Whoah!"

Woah!" Seb said at almost the same time, rearing up in an attempt to stop before he crashed into the other stallion. His snowball kept rolling and crashed into a nearby rock, breaking apart. "Oh no!"

When the larger stallion reared Chane winced, closing his eyes and turning his head to one side as if expecting a blow, accidental or otherwise. Nothing came though, and when he heard the stranger lamenting the loss of his snowball he gingerly opened his eyes. "... Did it break?"

"Yeah," Seb said, huffing at it. He stepped around the other horse and went over to nose at the broken pieces mournfully. "I guess I have to start over."

"... Why were you rolling snow, anyways?" he asked, entirely baffled by the other stallion's strange behaviour.

Seb looked up, giving Chane a look as if it were obvious. "To make snowballs, so I can kick them around. It's a game."

He paused for a moment, then looked back down at the broken snowball. "...I guess so."

"Heh... Well, your snow ball cleared the snow from a nice big patch of grass. Mind if I help myself?"

"No, go ahead." Seb sighed and nudged the broken pieces of his snowball once more before he turned to look at the other stallion. "I'm Seb, by the way."

Chane thanked him then bent down to start nibbling at the grass. As awful as it was to get winter grass, the stuff was sure nice and crisp and sweet. "Seb? It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Chane."
