Bio (Up to five sentences minimum):
Xuza was born in a different dimension. Ever since she was little, she could see a strange, smoke-like light that appears to spring forth from the shadows themselves, and it was often shifting and morphing. This is rumored to be the hand of God. Some scholars and wisemen believe that it is more likely the veins or even the nerves of God, that carries the energies of all creation. .
One day, when Xuza was out on a family trip, she noticed a strange person on the side of the road where they had stopped to take a break. The stranger wore a hood, even in summer, and appeared to mumble nonsense to himself. She went to see what this was all about, being a meister, it was her job to. The hooded figure introduced herself as Paradox, and spoke in riddles, and of obscenities like peace and prosperity for all. After hearing this, she knew that Paradox was a witch, and called her brother, a weapon, forth to do battle. Xuza and Marco were quickly dispatched, and the witch killed Xuza's brother right before her eyes. Even though she was weary and beaten, Xuza stood up in rage and charged Paradox. Unfortunately, she was easily stricken to the ground. Xuza was sure she was about to be killed too, but for some reason the witch just pulled out an odd little pouch from her robe. It contained a curious powder that look like shadows as it blew in the summer breeze. She flung a couple handfuls of the stuff onto Xuza, and then left, leaving her to fend for herself, and more curious, leaving the pouch behind.
After the incident, things turned south for Xuza. At the funeral for Marco, her parents seemed to blame her for his death, and began to shut her out. Rumors began to circulate around the school that a meister lost to a witch, and a certain creeping dread of an enemy attack found its way into everyone's head. Xuza began to feel ill about a week after the battle, and finally decided to check herself in to the infirmary. The nurse was curious at her condition; it was something she hadn't before, and so she decided to take a blood sample. When she tried this, Xuza's wings popped out of her like a jack-in-the-box. Staring at each other awkwardly for a moment, Xuza realized that she was no longer a part of the norm, and ran off. She would run all the way out of school and into a forest, in what was called the "Valley of Tranquility," a horrible place never to be tread upon by DWMA students. On her way out, the students screamed, "Demon, Witch, I knew you didn't belong here..."
After a moment in the forest, she could hear a quiet chatter coming from the center. She decided to have a look, and found a hiding place behind a tree. Looking into the clearing, she saw a bunch of strange figures, all dressed like Paradox was, hovering around, whispering strange rhymes to each in an unattainable tongue, passing and drinking from a bowl. What was in that bowl? What were they saying? Xuza didn't know it, but she had just witnessed a black mass. The witches didn't seem to noticed or care about her presence, why was that?
Xuza didn't want another incident like the one on her trip to happen, so she left and began to wander around to various towns in the area. All these places were full of cheer, except for when she mentioned what school she went to. These good people were scared to... Death, of Death, and didn't want any of his agents causing trouble in their peaceful towns of magic. So, she kept wandering, and eventually turned to the churches of the towns that she visited. With their strange arcane symbols, surely these places would be a source of refuge for a girl so afflicted. She was wrong about this as well. The clerics only saw a fallen angel when they looked at her darkened wings, and shunned her. After this, something inside Xuza snapped. She began to weep uncontrollably, and in her distress warped through a haze of smokey light.
The next thing she knew, she was washed up on the shore of a beach. It looked like the beaches she grew up visiting, but something was off. When she asked about the place, she was told that it was in Death City, which made her more curious. How did she end up back at the academy, and why would anyone at the school want to talk to her, a lowly witch?

(Current story starts here, and bio will be updated when significant events happen.)

Abilities: (Up to 8 )

+ Smoke-light flip: Xuza is able to harness the shadows flowing in the light. In the human world. She can use this to flip through dimensions of reality that we can't see. As in, the fourth dimension, time, and all the curious sub dimensions that make up reality. (through the wormhole, much?) However, this ability is best used during times when light a darkness are balanced more evenly, as in dawn, and dusk (see likes). The pathways are too overwhelming at high noon, and indistinguishable at night. She has lost her Sol to the gateway, so she uses her wings to make this happen. Because of the nature of the shadows passing through her wings, her feathers have dulled, and now resemble a fallen angel's.
+ Uriel Clan Swordsmanship: Despite her work ethic, Xuza can handle a weapon pretty decently. Not fluent by any means, but can hold her own in a fight. Because her curse has changed her to a magic type, though, she is more fragile physically than before, which suits her just fine, as she doesn't like to get all huffy and sweaty from a melee fight.
+ Twilight Enigma: Xuza holds out one wing during the defensive stage of this attack, and takes damage. Then, in phase two, she switches wings and unleashes a hazy, golden-orange flame from the feathers of her other wing. Depending on which wing it is, it has a different effect on the opponent; right wing is a fiery attack, while the left wing's flames serve as a medium that multiples Xuza's attack strength. Is more effective when Xuza takes on more damage, and can be Godly if Xuza is near death after getting hit by the attack. However, this does not give Xuza more strength, and any attempt to retaliate comes from her own power. Limit is based on damage received.
Soul Rez Moves:

+ Bad Wings(also theme song):

This move increases Xuza's physical stats. The shadow residue left over in her wings from using "Smoke-light Flip" is released from her wings, and hangs loosely around her body, like an aura. It gives her some of the qualities of the strange medium, meaning she is faster, but also that some of the illusory feats she accomplished by using her power are physically attached to her, eliminating some fatigue and the time gap between casting and effect. Like, slipping through a shadow or beam of light just by touching it, or using electromagnetism to up her weapon's strength. This move can only really be used once per fight, since it relies on the buildup of shadow in her wings, which takes quite a bit of time. Now, if the fight dragged on for a ridiculous amount of time, then she might be able to use it again. Also, the shadow resin dissipates fairly quickly, so the skill doesn't last long. A counter of how much resin will be up at all times to gauge how long it will last. It also clears up her wings a bit, which she likes, so this will probably be her move of choice when she has an opening to use it.

+ Kugelblitz/Flames of Nuriel: This is what is know as something that is hot beyond heat. What I mean by that is: there is a point at which things shouldn't be allowed to get any hotter, and this is hotter than that. It is ultimate, transcendent heat. One particle of her wing is separated and then heated, while floating above her head, not unlike a halo. The resonance adds energy to the particle until it reaches the plank temperature, which is the maximum temperature in the universe, in theory. If she chooses, she can take it a step further. Doing this could result in a black hole being created, which is why she only uses the most infinitesimal of particles in it. Also, this attack only lasts for a split second, as it would cause untold damage to everything around it. For example, a pinhead heated to the sun's core temperature would destroy an area of a thousand miles. However, this is unlikely, as she would not use a piece of her wing this big (they don't regenerate), and it takes a lot of time and energy to get it to this point, let alone the Planck temperature or above. This would also require an incredibly strong soul from her partner. If it was to be done, though, it would unleash an incredible blast of fire by swiping her weapon across the super-heated particle that would first burn and then implode, pulling in and destroying much of the surroundings. (I realize this attack is freaking ridiculous, and I probably won't ever use it, or even a chance to, but I thought I'd make a Godlike attack. Just for giggs, I guess, teehee. razz )

Personality:
Xuza is very shy, in the cutest way possible, but she's also sure of herself, coming from such an illustrious lineage. Quick to dismiss her merit as a fighter, she will often blush and change the subject away from fighting if it comes up, and is the last into a fight and first one out of it. She enjoys a nice day, or even better, a sunset on a beach the way a melancholy hopeless romantic would. There is always a sort of distance in her countenance, a pull from a very distant force, that is nonetheless incredible. She wants so desperately to return home, but loves the denizens of this universe so much that she appears divided. There is a certain passion behind her eyes that is immeasurable. But, her candor in love for the human race is also such that she brings light where ever she goes, carried by a smile, honest and pure.

Uh... I like the idea... but the whole completely different dimension thing seems a bit intense if you know what I mean. We already have an alternate world that mirrors the current one our story is set in so that already makes things a little bit complicated story wise. With that, would it be alright if you alter the bio then. She can keep her angelic abilities but she would have to be born in the current world the guild takes place in and possibly not being an Angel since there really aren't any angels in Soul Eater. :/

Yeah, I was afraid of that towards the end of writing it. I was like, "This could be a guild in itself." Haha, I was gonna call her "The Angel of Death." Catchy though, right?
What if she came from that alternate dimension? Would that make sense, or would that be too much as well? Angelic abilities, without being an angel... Hm, well I think the only thing that makes her angelic is the wings. Other than that, she just kind of messes with the dimension she's in. What do you think makes more sense: witch's curse gave her abilities and the appearance of a fallen angel, or she's actually a demon that looks like an angel? I guess I have yet to learn about character design. sweatdrop

She could be from the alternate world. I made a character named Ellise who also has angelic abilities and is from there. If you want, you can look at her bio for any ideas or you can use your own. She is in the Witch Demon profiles 3nodding

Ok, just read it. Ummm... Idk, I feel like I want to have her be somewhat like her, but then again, I kinda like the witch thing. It'd be fun to have these too collide, peacefully or not. Should they already know each other? So much overthought. lol

Ok, there it is. Sorry for the rushed job, and I hope the bio makes sense. I decided not to have them know each other at this point. I just feel like that meeting would be fun to play out. emotion_dealwithit
Are the abilities ok? I don't think I'll use Kugelblitz. lol Just kinda filling up space with that one.

Here's Illo.

Mission of the Iron Phoenix Monks:

The Iron Phoenix Brotherhood is a secretive organization that, while helping the Catholic church in some of its--shall we say--less diplomatic administrations (i.e. the crusades), has maintained prime directive, which exceeds evangelization: the tailoring of ace warriors for Lord Death. Constantine, Alexander The Great, The Lionheart Richard, and such figures are rumored to be graduates of this program. These, however, are not Phoenix. Once in a generation, there is a warrior prodigy that is taken in shortly after birth, their family sworn to secrecy, and processed into a combatant of monstrous skill, the type which are reserved for Gods and legends of the great myths of the world.

The training lasts for 15 years, and at the end of it the Phoenix is sent out into the wilderness to meditate and consolidate with nature. In his meditation, the Phoenix will search the world to find the soul of Lord Death. Once he finds it, he will approach Death and begin the final part of his training: to serve the Death God and by doing so achieve total enlightenment, and untold power. Illo is the 25th generation Phoenix, and, if his mission is successful, will become the Iron Phoenix: unstoppable force and immovable object.

The only catch here is that this has never been accomplished. The Brotherhood tells no new Phoenix that all the past attempts fail. The ones who have been commissioned in past generations mysteriously vanished. The order maintains that they simply achieve full enlightenment and disperse into the grand background energy of the universe, and that this is the true power that a Phoenix should strive for; to become all. The monks also instil a paradox into the mission. They teach the trainee that death is an illusion, and then commence them to serve Death.

Where to find Illo: Illo is a nomadic person at his core, and as such can be found anywhere at random. Normally he will take long meditations on the tops of roofs or in a quiet alleyway somewhere, but will also be found sweeping the halls of the DWMA. He does this to look as inconspicuous as possible, posing as a janitor in order to keep watch over the school. Illo prefers to let his modest appearance remain his camouflage. This, coupled with the fact that his soul wavelength at rest is that of a normal human’s, makes it all but impossible to pick him out of a crowd. He rarely visits the same place twice. After all, why go to the same local shops everyday when you could warp to the other side of the planet for lunch?

Interacting with the monk: A first conversation with Illo can be confusing, as he often speaks in dualisms. Don’t worry though, Illo is harmless, and can be bought off with a simple nod and smile. His demeanor is of a man on the verge of enlightenment, bringing a calming aura into almost any situation. He is more than happy to help, and this more often than not gets him into quite a bit of trouble. There is a certain pride that Illo carries with him into situations like this, and, more importantly, fights that can be seen as carelessness, or overconfidence. But this is merely the assurance that he gets from his ability, and the trust in strangers that a diligent monk should have.

After the third eye is opened Illo becomes a little… Brash.
Abilities:

Combatives:

Normal form: In his normal state, Illo is a marital arts expert, specializing in many forms, from Cavat to Tai Chi, and is certainly able to hold his own with pretty much anyone. The only defect here is that he is of mortal limitations in this state, and can do little more than defend against an opponent possessing magic, or supernatural abilities.

For the most part, Illo has trained in the way a Shaolin monk would. This means toughening every inch of his body to deal with every situation, and every impact, possible in a fight. Through rigorous training, Illo has strengthened the structure of his head, vertebral column, various joints, and knuckles. In addition to this, Illo is able to fortify the areas of the body not able to be strengthened through conventional training through the art of Chi Kung. The reason I'm not having this be a separate ability is because Chi Kung is a branch of Shaolin Kung-Fu, and therefor belongs in the combatives section.

To put the powers of Chi Kung into perspective, a regular human has been able to use this technique to strengthen his larynx, an are with no muscles to speak of and completely vulnerable, to a level strong enough to press it against a spear (sharpened) with over 500 lbs of forces. The spear should have only needed 6 lbs to tear through the larynx. That was a normal human, not one blessed with a tremendous soul. Imagine what the monk is capable of when he applies this technique to his freakishly strong chi.

Another pinnacle of Illo's martial arts prowess is the mastering of something called the elusive lead. Illo's moves are incredibly hard to read, and he often uses this to take his momentum from his opponent or more likely dominate the fight from the beginning. Coupled with his extensive knowledge base, Illo has plenty of forms to choose from to keep his opponent guessing. If you are fighting Illo, you are probably going to stay on the defensive, hand to hand that is.

From the elusive lead, Illo has developed his own variation of the technique that he calls the "illusory lead." This is not a new ability, but rather an explanation of Illo's style when using his martial arts in this way. Basically, Illo makes full use of his Phoenix abilities in combination with elusive lead tactics. An example: suppose Illo is coming at you with straight jabs thrown at random intervals and teleports to different angles, say behind and to an unguarded side with little to no warning, that is what Illo's illusory lead looks like. It is possible to dodge or block it, but Illo's offensive becomes so oppressive in this style of fighting that the opponent would have virtually no chance of doing much else. And since Illo fancies a challenge, this would make the fight a little boring for him.

There are other ways to use the illusory lead than just coupling the elusive lead with teleportation. Suppose Illo used his spatial conversion ability. The spatial conversion would allow Illo to essentially create sink-holes in the layout of space around his opponent. Suppose now that Illo was throwing those same jabs at a person's head. If they were able to dodge the normal trajectory of the punches, then it would be a simply matter to have a "sink-hole" set up along the way, which, once passed through by Illo;s fist. Basically, that fists path would be distorted and would no longer land where it "looks" like it's going to.

The last pinnacle of Illo's martial arts is a concept called the intercepting fist. Here the idea is to use offense and defense as one. Illo has become masterful at reading an opponent's moves. Knowing the move the opponent is about to make, Illo assesses and intercepts the move with a move this is either longer in range, faster, or more likely both at once. This is a technique that allows Illo to strike a foe when their defense is down and when they are most vulnerable, when they are attacking. This video should explain what I mean.

Illo has extensive training in the area of Wing Chun, specifically Chi Sao, and likes to use this form at closer ranges (punch and grapple range). If Illo is given the opportunity to get into Wing Chun range, he will more than likely shut down his opponent with unprecedented speed and efficiency.

The standard Wing Chun punch is nothing to be trifled with, and is certainly more than just fast. It is also one of the more powerful ways to deliver a punch, or more importantly punches, around. The rapid succession and structure of the punch make it less of a punch and more like a jackhammer. An opponent's defenses can only hold out for so long when faced with such an onslaught, and since the punches come so quickly that breaking point is reached in a very short amount of time.

A product of the hardening of Illo's knuckles is the advent of a punching technique considered by many to be the strongest punch as far as raw destructive power is concerned. I speak, of course, of the Hakuta Punch.
No special abilities other than martial arts.

Phoenix mode: This is characterized by the third eye (blending religious beliefs here, folks) that begins to glow after a chant from Illo. It gives him most of his abilities, and power to fight most enemies one would find in soul eater universe. It starts at 1% output, and goes to 80%. The catch here is that once this is activated his power keeps increasing until Illo is no longer able to control it and bursts out, causing mass destruction.

Pulse: Also referred to as "fortification," it is derived from the Chi Kung practice in Shaolin Kung-Fu. Illo can manipulate the "chi" around him, but a more Soul Eater-esque way to describe this is to say that Illo has a mastery over self resonance.

Iron Phoenix mode: Every so often, and more frequent in the higher reaches of his power frequency, Illo enters a state of unbridled fury, his energy flooding the battlefield. This is almost juggernaut, and does not happen often, and cannot be sustained for very long. It gives him new ways to use his branches of psychic power, depending on the circumstances. Like, a larger than normal blast, or a series of illusions to take the brunt of a spray of bullets, etcetera. This is not an excuse to give unlimited new abilities to Illo, but rather a power augmentor. Sometimes this effect ends up harming Illo. For instance, tries to shoot blast, and energy blows up in his hand or in front of his third eye, like a gun backfiring. Or, tries to teleport, and ends up upside down. Sometimes he is paralyzed by an illusion (a giant hand may appear to seize Illo, or something) and cannot make a move, although he thinks he is in action. (This could be a type of madness, but that is not delineated yet. The third eye could also make him a type of kishin or genie. Also not confirmed.) Either way, facing Illo in this mode is sure to be interesting.

Another downside to this is that when Illo commits to this stage of power he must recharge for six hours after shutting down before the third eye can be opened again. It’s all or nothing.

Increased illusions and hyperbolic increases in his other abilities do not constitute new abilities. This is just pumping up Illo's abilities to their most extreme levels. A balance-breaker, if you will.

ALL ABILITIES ARE NOW FEATS OF STRENGTH TO MAKE THIS CHARACTER FAIR! (thank you for your cooperation)

Here are some branches of psychic ability in what I believe to be their most strict sense; these are where all abilities of Illo's come from that aren't martial arts.

Telekinesis: Manipulation of matter around one, and exertion of physical force from the mind. Appears to be a feat of strength, but clearly cannot be. Is basically impossible to block against, because it ignores simple newtonion laws that should allow an opponent to break free. So, in this case Illo’s Telekinetic ability, from levitation to a darth vader style choke hold, are now feats of strength. This means that they can be blocked by an opponent with a strong will, but also that Illo can ramp up the attack with his own. Like turning simple levitation into supersonic flight by pumping more energy into it.
Here are some things Illo can do with this ability:

fire blast akin to a "force push", ranging in strength. Or a sustained wavelength vibration can be used to disturb an opponent's equilibrium, or vibrate a door open; very versatile. Remember, this is the manipulation of matter... The possibilities are quite extensive. Obviously, there is the caveat that Illo can only do some of the more head-bending tricks with this at higher levels of power, say 40% and up, so please bare that in mind as well.

Temporal Conversion: This gets a little meta… A mystic or psychic is rumored to be able to collapse the space around him, and since time is derived from space it shouldn't be too unreasonable to think one could dispel or otherwise edit facets and "illusions" of time as well. This could include editing the differences of time between him and very distant objects (here to andromeda), different dimensions, or isolating locations in space and converting them to different slots in time. To make this not only feasible but fair, this too will become strength based. This is why a teleport takes the same time no matter how far it is.

Spacial Conversion: The mystic Yogi is rumored to be able to collapse the illusion of space between objects. This includes himself, which is how I derive teleportation. He could also appear to manifest objects by collapsing the space between himself and his targeted object. This is where many of his illusions become more than illusion(allow me to explain). If I take some of the space out of a corridor, a person may keep on running thinking, “Oh well, it’s just an illusion. The real hallway must be longer than this.” Blamo. runs into a wall.

Telepathy: Probably the most commonly mentioned ability of a psychic. It is the ability to tap into the conscious, or subconscious, of another living thing. I can read your mind(be worried), and by logic you can read mine. I have the advantage, because I know what’s going on, and can, in theory, imprint thoughts, ideas, or scenes (illusions) into your brain space. Since this is now strength based, logic would dictate that an adversary with a stronger will would be able to reverse this process. They could put Illo in an illusory predicament!

Perception is reality: This is the justification I will use to make all these things possible. After all, Illo can only edit the facets of space-time by perceiving them to be something different form what normal people would relate as a constant layout of reality, so it makes sense to say that something about Illo's perceptive abilities are inherently different from the conventional ones; Illo can perceive a change in reality so hard that the change becomes, in essence, real. This is the basis for any esper ability that Illo uses as it is the vehicle by which the perceptions of Illo are made tangible. What that means for the people fighting him is that Illo's illusions are tangible to the body but can be overridden by the mind.

I will never use more than one of these branches at a time in Phoenix Mode.(If you want to challenge a category in a post, I will be more than happy to form a friendly debate about it in a PM.) I will rarely use more than one in Iron Phoenix Mode, and will never use all these branches in a fight… That wouldn’t be any fun.

Here's Paradox.

Witch
Image(s): User Image

User Image

User Image

Name: Paradox

Age: unknown

Sexuality: Depends

Relationship (Single, crushing, etc.): Single

Ethnicity (ex: British, Japanese, etc.): Caucasian

Family (If none leave blank):

Do you attend at the DMA: No.

Likes:
circular logic/arguments
the number 8
corvids of any kind
plotting and just being a menace in general
people watching

Dislikes:
Death, people who believe in him, and Shibusen
predictable/boring people/things
bureaucracy

Bio (Up to five sentences minimum): How can one define a phenomenon that at once exists in definite tangibility and leads the phantom sense to wander beyond to infinity in order to grasp its definition? If a paradox is nothing more than the truth standing on its head attract attention, then it is invariably the simplicity of this nature that conceals the duplicity of Paradox.

While hiding in plain sight, Paradox has watched the meisters at Shibusen with equal parts disdain and amusement for an unknown number of years. She is content in the fact she has no one to fear per se, and so is happy, if at all bored, with living her life on cruise control. The magnitude of her power has made her something of a target for cocksure weapon techs, and thus the witch rarely hunts her prey.

An example of this was seen in the creation of Xuza Uriel’s abilities. It was a simple matter for her to leave a trail of madness for Xuza’s intrepid brother Marco to follow, and to trap the experienced meister once there. It was seemingly whimsical, the turning of a meister into an outcast, but those reading this should be aware that Paradox is not the type to do things out of sheer boredom. Then again, maybe it is whimsical plotting that entertains the mind of the witch best.

Spells/Powers: (Up to 8 Ex: Fire, Necromancy, etc.)
Chromatophore: Paradox is a master shapeshifter. She casts a light hypnosis when in public to make people perceive her as something/someone else, but in a more delicate situation she can actually change form.
Wave Blast/Particle Shot: This is the higher end energy attack of Paradox. She fires an energy attack that quickly multiplies into a series of shots with the same properties (strength, size), most/some coming right at the target. However, the instant the meister focuses on one of the blasts the wave function collapses, leaving a different shot to snap into reality, leaving out all the other blasts. This move has the potential to demolish an opponent, but it is quite unpredictable. There is no set path the shots take in waveform, and the shot the is collapsed into being by observation is random. That said, it is in reflex that many meisters try to track more than one object coming at them, especially if they don’t know about the particle function of the attack. The shots will keep changing positions until they are not being observed. Whether or not this is 50’ to the left of the target, or in the center of their chest is up to the observer’s reactions. 1charge/1cool.
Position/Motion: Paradox can move in the conventional sense, while continuing to occupy the same area she was. Think of it as astral projection, but on this plane of reality. Suppose she needed to get somewhere in a hurry, and suppose she had already known that she needed to be there and had traveled there using this method and, in essence, bookmarked the location. Now suppose that the witch has many of these checkpoints around town, around the world, simply because she never stops moving, never has a fixed position, and at once has both as well. This ability gives her body similar properties as the wave blast in battle. Can be used to achieve superposition, but forces the ability to stop afterwards. 2cool.
Curse: Paradox can create and curse opponents. Usually a post battle move.
(more to come as the story unfolds)

Personality: Sort of like a Goddess would be depicted in that she seems to be parallel to nothing in how she carries herself, a confidence reserved for beings that dwell in an elevated state, or at least putting that act on. The Paradox, hiding in plain sight, will never initiate conversation, but will never deny it either, her voice a solution of soothing civility and highbrow disdain.

Here's Lilith.

Demon
Image(s): User Image
User Image
User Image
Name: Lilith

Age: At least 6,000

Sexuality: Devious, no matter which way she swings

Relationship (Single, crushing, etc.): No relationships for this one. She’s in the use it and lose it camp.

Ethnicity (ex: British, Japanese, etc.): Caucasoid, I guess.

Family (If none leave blank): Lamia: one of the few named offspring.

Do you attend at the DMA: Attend? No, but sometimes she drops in to see the tasty high school boys. >:3

Likes:

Fur, lace, and selfies (yes, this is one thing. lol)

THOT Thursdays
Shots (preferably of the jello persausion)
Dislikes:
Sunday
Abstinence preachers
Pottery or ceramics of any kind

Bio (Up to five sentences minimum): In the beginning… Ok, say you know that part. You know how Adam and Eva happened. But now suppose there was another reason for trouble in paradise. Lilith is that reason. The original woman, Lilith had some feminist issues with Adam (that we aren't going to talk about here) that forced the creation of Eve. Needless to say, that didn't help ease the saltiness, and Lilith became a demoness.

Not just any demoness, mind you, but the first of one of the most fan-service friendly varieties of demons in existence: THE SUCCUBUS!

Eventually, order came to put the squeeze on Lilith, with an ultimatum of returning home to her subservient life, or accept the life of a demon and be drowned in the Dead(maybe Red) Sea. But, luckily for Lilith, a deal was struck with the angels. Since her power over her victim is limited to just a few days (8 for boys, 12 for girls), the angels decided to let her go under two conditions. One: each and every day from now on, one hundred of her demonic spawn would die, no matter what she did. Two: if a child bares the name or likeness of one of the three angels on them she could not bring harm to them.

So, Lilith swallowed her pride and lived to mother demons and sow nightmares in the minds of good men. To weaken children, and pray upon the subconscious of the faithful. She was left by the angels, where she sunk into the sea and began her demon campaign. Some say that she survived by merging with the archangel Samael, but it is more important that she still lives 6,000 years later rather than how.

Throughout history she has appeared to reap these seeds of discord, leaving a trail of debauchery behind. From the fertile crescent all the way to Greece to mess with Zeus (F-ING ZEUS!) she has been making the worst of herself for quite sometime now, and with a 6,000 year long rap sheet she has the experience to prove she’s one bad mother. You thought Eva was bad? HA.

Spells/Powers: (Up to 8 Ex: Fire, Necromancy, etc.)
+Terra Cotta: The creation of demon child is not so daunting a task for Lilith. After all, she must produce at least one hundred a day to be reaped by the angels. She fashions clay bodies, just as she was created, and fits them with a demonic soul… Or two… Or a hundred. Although, the many souled ones are typically less stable, and tend to be as brittle as they are powerful.
+Sleep of Reason: Lilith has some terrifying hypnotic power. She can bewitch even the most devout of holy men, and often drives men mad with just her presence. Helen of Troy? Totally her. The nature of her hypnosis is especially effective in the way she uses it. The subject projects their subconscious desires out into reality as, for them, a tangible illusion. Basically, she mind f**ks you.
+Lost Nightmare:In this trance-like state, or while asleep, Lilith feeds upon the subconscious energies of humans for sustenance for her and her most elite of demon children. most commonly, she will send the demon to get food for itself, like a mature succubus should know how to do, but there are times when this maneuver has come in handy in establishing her clan. Subjects of the feeding awake as zombie-like shells of humans, and wander around, insane, until most likely committing suicide.
+Sleep, Children: This maneuver entails Lilith sacrificing the souls of her demon children to boost her own power. She can become very powerful doing this.
+Molding Your World: Lilith has the power to manipulate earth to fight, kind of like Clayface from Batman. This is a broad ability that spans from rooting herself in the ground to strengthen her attack and defense, to the calling forth of giant golem arms to smash her opponent. She doesn't like to fight herself, but that doesn't mean she doesn't know how.
+The Dying of Water: This is Lilith’s ultimate technique. She brings forth a curious black liquid from her wings, which forms a small lake around her and her victim. They would then sink deep into the inky lake, deeper and deeper, until they reach what is supposed to be the bottom. The liquid saps the soul energy of the victim the entire time they are inside.
Lilith produces a mirror, which the victim sees as himself, and awaits the foe’s attack. When contact is made, a copy of the person’s soul is made. This copy is hollow, and will act as a conduit for Lilith to implant herself into. Lilith can either attack with the abilities of her opponent, or, if enough spirit energy has been absorbed, she can use her soul to pull the remaining essence of the victim’s soul over to her new soul. This is how she is able to produce so many demons.

+ Divine/Arcane/Devil Speech: Lilith can use her knowledge of rare tongues to give herself boosts. Flight speed, minor teleportation (as in not so as to be unhittable, but more to get somewhere conveniently), demon minion fortification, illusory effects are what she can boost/do with this ability. Flight speed boost has no charge, teleportation has a one post charge, minion boost has a one post charge and a two post cool, and illusory effects have no charge but have a five post cool. Incantations can be spoken or written, say in the sand, but the written effects will last longer. It wouldn't be uncommon for golems with arcane writing etched into them to be seen. Having written seals in effect pre battle doubles the charge time of subsequent usage of that power, as Lilith's mana will be pulled in two directions, but cool time will be eliminated for the sake of momentum.

+ Wings of a Seductive Nightmare: Long title, but it just stands for her demon form. Boosted stats, you know the routine on these things. Five post limit. Three post cool.

Personality: Coquettish, manipulative, conniving. Whatever you can think of that fits the “girls your mother warned you about” mold, she’s that.

Let's do some NPCs! emotion_awesome

From the Underworld (citizens and denizens of the Underworld)

Citizens:

East:

User Image

These are people who weren’t faithful enough in their traditions and found their way here. The Easterners tend to be of the Asian persuasion, and range from Japanese to Indian to Egyptian and Persian (will get pics of ethnicities other than the Japanese you see here if you choose to RP with them, so please don’t let that influence your decision making).

West:

User ImageUser Image

Same thing as the Easterners, but on the other side of the globe. There can be a little overlap with, say, Egypt and such as being both West and East, I’m not gonna knock you for it. Just know that this is probably, like, Greece, Rome, Christians, Jews, etc. Also, their clothes reflect their appearance in life, ergo a Greek-looking person has been here quite a while, and if they aren’t completely mad they’re going to be desperate for help.

Denizens:

West:

Ifrits: fire demons from Islam.
User ImageUser Image

Succubi/Incubi: friends of Lilith, they most likely come from Jewish tradition. Incubi are the males.
User ImageUser Image

Fallen Angels:
User ImageUser Image

East:

Asuras: not the main villain, but rather the Hindi for demon. These typically have four arms, so pardon the pics, but they can have more. In any event, they don’t play nice, as a rule.
User ImageUser Image

Yokais: from Japanese traditions. They tend to be beings of illusory nature, according to what I’ve heard.

Here's Illo in a hypothetical future in which he was allowed to attain enlightenment. emotion_dealwithit

A word of advice: Do not fight Illo, please. He is non-combative, as is his idiom in his peaceful enlightenment, but if he were to be attacked he could render any attempt to damage him inert. Now, please don't be mad. The main reason I'm having him in here is to illustrate the end goal of the Brotherhood, not to have him make doodoo in your breakfast bowl. Illo is essentially the Buddha at this point, so if you think you can harm the Buddha--you can't, but just say--then prepare to be disappointed. However, if you need advice, or whatever, and don't know where to go, Illo will be there for you for he is everywhere.

User Image

Name: Illo

Occupation: Was a janitor, is now the fully realized Iron Phoenix.

Bio: After a series of trials, the Phoenix finally ascended to the most high state of being, known as the Iron Phoenix; a metaphor for a phoenix which doesn't burn out, illustrating that the monk has broken the cycle of humanity to become something more. I'm not going to say how he was enlightened, and I'm leaving out a lot of things would have yet to happen in his story, because spoilers.

Suppose I'll just highlight some feats of strength Illo accomplished in his time in a mortal shell. He bested a Gregorian choir full of shaolin trained monks, then the headmaster of the Phoenixes, THEN the previous Iron Phoenix without going past 75%. His soul wavelength itself is strong enough to overload a nuclear reactor just by resonating with it. He tanked a fully charged railgun and got up a post later. He took on the Black Warden, an unbeatable boss with auto-hits, by himself and dueled it to a stalemate. He survived an explosion that took out the entire Lucrum Labs with no help from his qi... Somehow. And that's just the first mission!

Later Illo fought (and I'm assuming defeated) Carmen. In that fight, a base hit of Illo's at 50% Phoenix Mode was comparable to a 150% of Carmen's, a hard level opponent who specializes in hitting people hard. If it was a linear increase, Illo's 100% would be three times as hard hitting as Carmen, but that's not the case. His power increases on a exponential curve, so it's really hard to say just how powerful he is/was. Well, it's not that hard, I just don't want to do the math.

Abilities:

Instead of regular abilities,. I'm just going to redirect you to the top of the post. He's not meant to fight, so I think putting abilities up would be a provocation.
