User ImageHarveer had no sooner read one of the many postings around the city than he had grabbed his trusty tonfas and started to head out of the city. He had decided that this was something he was able to do without too much assistance. At the least, he'd offer to help any of his fellow squires if he ran across them. Teamwork was an element he valued. They all should value it, he thought. With a stretch and a sigh, Harveer headed out, deciding on asking one of the mentors where to head first.

~~

After stopping and discussing things with Master Hania, Harveer had a general idea of where to go. At least, to find one of the four relics he would need. Maybe while he was getting supplies he'd run across someone else who wanted to head to the mountains with him.

Rolling his shoulder, trying not to show off his hard earned muscles, Harveer headed to get some supplies.

"Something warm, but lightweight. The less weight the better. Won't do anyone any good to carry too much" The squire sighed, running a hand through his pale hair. He was excited to be getting ready for this task, but it was still a bit of a chore deciding which supplies to take.

This was the sign. The sign that Rosette had been waiting for. The light was giving her a chance and she was going to take it! Well that's what she was thinking while she was holding one of the flyers in her hand. She had been out in the city trading for supplies for home after all. This wasn't chance, the Guardians where guiding her to a greater purpose. She squeed gleefully before rushing back home, shouting "DIBS!" in her roommate's, Ruby, face and tossing the flyer in her face before rushing back out the door. She had to get ready as fast as she could. It was going to be a trip after all.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The city was busy as always, though there was a buzz about the flyers that had dotted the city. Rosette couldn't be worried about that for now. She needed supplies! Though she really didn't know what to get. She really hadn't left the city. This was bad. She mulled her thoughts around for a moment before hearing someone else speak, sounded like he knew what he was doing, at least for camping or some hike. She approached the teenager from behind, perhaps he could help her? "Excuse me, might I ask for some help from you? I am unsure of what to take for lengthy trip." She tapped lightly on his shoulder.
Harveer, shocked, tried his best not to jump. He wasn't really expecting anyone to approach him while inside the city. Then again, she was a pretty angel. The golden eyed teen smiled up at her. "That depends on where you're planning on going Ma'am." He offered, tucking his weapons behind his back when he turned to face her. No need to show that he was armed. He didn't mean anything with it either.
"I'd be happy to help you of course." His smile was still there, she lived in the city, there was no reason to mistrust her. Chances were, she'd recognize him soon enough anyway. "Where are you planning to journey to?" The squire asked, intending to help her with supplies for her trip. He had to acquire his own anyways. Would work well for both parties.
Rosette's eyes widened as she fell to her knees. Those golden eyes. Everyone knew what those golden eyes meant in the city. "Oh by the light you are one of the chosen Squires! Excuse my rudeness of disturbing you I was just well..The flyers.." The red angel was having a hard time composing herself. She was so embarrassed. Oh if Ruby found out she had bothered one of the Squires she'd never hear the end of it. Oh this was turning into the worst day ever.
Harveer blinked, he'd never had that reaction before. "Stand up, stand up!" He tried to sound good natured about it. It was kind of hard when she was on her knees in front of him. It wasn't something he'd encountered regularly.. Well, ever really. "There's no need to get on your knees. I was out to get supplies so I could retrieve the relics as well."
The squire smiled, offering her a hand. It wasn't right not to try and help her, even if she was showing him a lot more respect than he felt he deserved. But then, he was one of the chosen few wasn't he?
Mentally shaking that thought, Harveer glanced around, it really was posted all over town wasn't it? "So, do you know where to go yet?" He asked, curious.
Ok, she could do this,or die of embarrassment. She she wasn't already red in colour her face would have been beet red. She took a moment to let out a breath before taking his hand slowly. She was almost shaking she was so nervous. Oh Guardians give her the strength to get her through this meeting.
"I'm afraid I haven't the slightest clue of where these items could be. The flyers to not supply us with any of that information. Perhaps is it part of the test for those who wish to prove themselves to the Guardians?" She couldn't think of any other reason. More so those who where only simply loyal. The more she thought about it the harder this was turning out to be. "I am unsure of who would even have such knowledge to begin with."
Harveer grinned, "You've ran into the right pae then. I need a hand to go searching the mountains for one of them. Would you be so kind as to accompany me?" It would be nice to have a pretty lady like her around. "I just happen to be in possession of the knowledge of some of the relics we're looking for." He was grinning from ear to ear.
It was almost novel to him to run across someone who didn't have the same information as him, or at least access to all that he did. But this gorgeous angel was sent his way by the Guardians, which meant he was going to take her with him until the Guardians said otherwise.
Rosette nearly dropped to her knees once again. "Oh it would be the biggest honor ever to aid you anyway I can sir...Squire..." Rosette found herself lacking a name to call the teen buy, but did it truly matter? This was a chance she could never say no to. The Guardians were clearly showing her the path to take. In her excitement she nearly forgot that she was also going on the same quest...Though it didn't matter. He was chosen, she had not. such was the will of the Guardians.
Harveer blushed, trying not to let her utter adoration get to him. He knew it was because he was one of the guardian's chosen, but it didn't mean it wasn't slightly uncomfortable.
"Please, just call me Harveer. It's kind of... Awkward to answer to sir or squire." He rubbed his neck, looking slightly embarrassed. Guardians be blessed, he preferred to be humble. "What may I call you Ma'am?" He asked, trying to bring the formality levels down. Adventuring together would be weird if they were so... stiff around one another.
"Lets talk and walk? The sooner we head out the sooner we can start on the Guardians request." He offered, trying to speed things along a little. The squire was most certainly interested in completing this task as quickly as they could.
"Oh my! I apologize si-Harveer. My name is Rosette." Rosette covered her face for a moment, trying to compose herself. Why was this so hard? She needed to calm down. She nodded to her self before letting out a breath before looking to the teen and smiling to him. "You mentioned you knew where these items were. Might I ask where they are? It might be easier to prepare if I knew where these items were located." Since the flyers were posted all over the city, there were multiple of these items? How? "Or what are these items really? There must be many of them if the offer of the quest was opened to all." What was she getting herself into?
Harveer smiled wide, holding his hand out. "Nice to meet you Rosette." There, that was immediately better. He was already relaxing a bit around her. Really, the squire wasn't that different from the citizens... Emotionally at least. He'd been training his entire life to become a knight for The Guardians, which probably skewed his vision of normal a bit. The denizens of Telrunya City weren't as heavily trained as he was. Or were they? He couldn't remember.
"I don't know where all of them are... But I do know where to find a couple of the items. I figure we'll return here after we go through the mountains for one of them. We'll have to talk to a few heretics to get a couple of the relics." He shrugged, brushing it off as a casual interaction. He'd met a few of them, not all the heretics were terrible. Some could be reasoned with, but as a majority, they needed to learn their place and accept The Guardians.
"The mountains? That's quiet a journey, even from the air." Rosette blinked in surprise. What could they be looking for up in the mountains. Plus she hated the cold. Perhaps she was too spoiled from living in the city all her life but...
"Well if that is the case some warm clothes would do us some good, some canteens for water and some tools to hunt while on the long trek." What else would they need? "Something to start a fire...There is just so much to do, so little time! Though I shall aid you as much as I can Harveer."
Harveer grinned. "That's why we're getting supplies before we go. Maybe we'll run into a heretic while we're on the trip and manage to get something off them, or better yet. Convert them to believe in The Guardians instead of their lies." He was way happier to think they could convert all the heretics. It would be a lot of work, but it would be so worth it. More devoted to the Guardians would be better. It would always be better. The Guardians deserved it.
"Where would you like to stop first?" The squire questioned, trying to take her into consideration. She was just following the Guardians will, as was he. Peace could never be achieved without it.
Rosette pointed to a nearby clothing stand. "That seems like a good place to start." What did that say about her? Possibly that she did not wish to freeze to death. Guardians watch over her in his journey.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

The journey to the mountains was well, different. Perhaps a little too silent for both of their good. Rosette just couldn't seem to relax and just small chat. If a leaf even fell slightly off Rosette became tense and protective over the Squire. It became clear to both of them that, at least while she was around, no one was going to touch Harveer unless they wanted a fury of red threatening them.

Beyond her over devotion to the Squire, the journey was uneventful. Between flying and walking, it seemed to go by quickly. Once thy reached the mountains it seemed bitterly cold. Colder then Rosette had though of. The northern winds just seemed to be against them, or was she imaging it? Bah, it probably was just always cold here. What did she know? Rosette made a mental note to try to not to return to this horribly cold place. Or any cold place. Forget this cold. She would rather be somewhere warm with her roses.

Mountain climbing became another mental note. Even with flight the thin air was getting to her. Her breathing became harder the higher they traveled. "What are...We looking for?" She finally spoke up to Harveer. She should have asked him sooner so she could keep an eye out. The cold was clearly getting to her, she was being an idiot.

He'd been bothered by her fierce protectiveness throughout their journey, but Harveer was biting his tongue. She was doing what she felt right, but Guardians be blessed, he wasn't as fragile as Rosette was treating him. The teen was glad she was pretty, and from what he knew of her, that she was also a decent pae to be around.

He wasn't going to lie, he had suffered the same effects of the thinning air as she had. Hopefully they were almost there. He wasn't sure how much longer it was going to take for them to get there, or even exactly where it was. He'd just gotten a vague answer of where to look. "We're looking for," The pale teen shivered, trying not to let himself be cold. "A battlefield... Up here it should be fro-frozen." Harveer frowned, hoping they were close.

"Close hopefully." He offered, moving forward until he tripped over something. Harveer landed face first in the snow. Ugh.
