Breathe.
That's what Stormy kept telling herself on the way to the lighthouse, all through the sign on for patrol, and for several minutes after she had stepped through the portal. Breathe.
The Haunted House held nothing but nightmares for her, even though she had only formally taken a patrol there three times. But this was a new year, and she had a clear goal: and in order to reach it, she had to start letting go of some of these fears. Nevertheless, Stormy didn't shiver due to the snow accumulation; several layers and a tightly wound scarf didn't protect you from the unknown.
Gale had at least lent her the phone, even if it was accompanied by a curious look. Death shadowing, she'd told him, just part of her plan to train and prepare; none of that was a lie. That's what she also told herself to feel better.
She couldn't help but wonder if Gale had put two and two together yet.
< < What does it matter now? Focus on the task at hand. > >
With cold gloved fingers, Stormy fished the special cellphone out and typed out a message.LividPeas Text to Mei:Meet me behind the Haunted House

Having been out of the school for nearly a month or so now, Mei had been busy moving into her new apartment. Procrastination and her wandering mind kept her from moving at a decent speed, but at least by now, her new home was starting to look a little more decent.
Hearing a small buzzing like noise coming from her desk, the doll strode across the room, snatching up the phone to check the message sent. A little surprised to see whom it was from, she texted back a quick reply.Ol-j-man Text to Gale: Okay. Be there soon. Though, little did she know, it wasn't Gale whom she'd be meeting.

She stared at the text and gulped. This was really happening. This was really happening. Did she really have a plan in the end for this? Did she have any proof Mei could trust her? This wasn't being officially sanctioned by anyone, and even the reasoning of shadowing Gale's specialization felt flimsy.
This was all assuming Mei didn't just leave or attack at the sight of her.

Right. New year, new resolutions, new Stormy.
She made her way to the back of the Haunted House, admiring the facade as she did. This place was just as much an anomaly as Insanity was...It, too, could warrant its own investigation, though Stormy shuddered at the thought of going in alone again. Reaching her destination, she leaned against the back wall and took a deep breath, trying to look as casual and non-threatening as possible as she waited--even though every snap of a twig made her twitch.
