User ImageSweetie sighed, it had been a while since she was rescued from that tiny isle in the ocean. At first, she couldn't be far enough away from it. Now? Now she just wanted to go back and spend time with Dysmas again. He'd been so sweet the entire time. He didn't even mention the morning snuggles when they happened. Not that she'd meant to snuggle, but it was a comfort for her. She had been trying not to dwell on seeing him again, or the time spent on the island, but it didn't seem like she could help it.

The mornings were awkward now. She'd woken up on the floor and curling around her blanket. It would have been funny if she didn't miss him. He was a good man and he took good care of her. Sweetie considered herself lucky to have such a friend.

Today... Today she resolved herself to go looking for him. Not that she had the slightest idea of where to find Dysmas, but anything was better than the misery she'd been experiencing lately. Besides, it gave her something to do. She'd been wandering about without any real purpose. This would get better, she just had to do something about it.

But where to look? She closed her blue eyes, trying to recall anything he'd said about where he lived. It had to be close to the water if not in it directly. That much was obvious after seeing how much he had to be in the water to be comfortable. Or was that to keep himself alive? She wasn't entirely certain one way or the other. But he had to be by the waters. But which waters was it she was supposed to be looking for? The fauny frowned, trying recall if he'd ever said anything about it.

Oh! That was right, he'd told her it was that one place. She grinned, getting up and stretching. It was about time she got her fauny butt out of the tree and off to find Dysmas. He probably didn't miss her as much as she missed him, but it was a lot better than not seeing him. At least they could be good friends after the entire vacation on that isle. Right?

So, she set off. Looking for Dysmas near the waters of his home. Or what she believed to be the waters near his home, not once thinking he'd be busy or not want to see her right then.

User ImageDysmas stared at the crown-like object he had found during the diving expedition on his 'vacation'. It was sitting upon a shelf, looking radiant. He was trying to work up the courage to bring it to the queen. Would she even care about such an object? He sighed, rubbing the slight pink scar that remained from his attempt to get it. Not today. He rolled over in his bed, being lazy. In truth, he hadn't slept well since he had been rescued so he spent most of his time in a half-awake daze. The only time he was more then half-awake was when he went out for his swims.

He thought about her a lot, the faun he had been stuck on the island with. He might have attempted to swim home if she hadn't been there with him, but Dysmas didn't want to abandon her. He wasn't a full naiad either so he probably would never have made it.

His mother had been doting on him so much more since he had returned, he had really scared her with how long he had been gone. It was strange... when he left for the trip he had still been like a child in many ways, then when he was on the island, taking care of himself and someone else, he felt like an adult, and now that he was home he almost felt a child again. It left him feeling conflicted.

Dysmas walked out of his mother's hut and dove into the lake of his father. The cool water, it made him feel alive again. He shut his eyes as he dived through the water and then returned to the surface to float on his backside. For a moment he pretended he was back there in the ocean water on his own private island. Dysmas had wanted so badly for that rescue boat to come, and when it finally did he only went on out of obligation. He wouldn't have really wanted to stay anyways, Sweetie wouldn't have been there anymore.

Sweetie was absolutely lost. She'd thought she had gone in the right direction, but then, she didn't know the island the way the rest of the pae around here seemed to. She sighed, still walking. Thank goodness she was an earth fauny. She'd probably be exhausted by now if she wasn't so used to walking everywhere. That thought made her smile. She needed the exercise anyways.

The fauny sighed, running a hand through the blue side of her hair. Well, she needed to learn the lay of the land anyways right? She'd all but given up when she discovered the lake. Oh! Maybe this was it! Entirely re-energized, Sweetie ran out to the shores, looking desperately for a familiar pink and orange male.

"Dysmaaaaaaaas!" She called, looking for him. Maybe he would be near the surface long enough for him to hear her calling. He had to be, she couldn't be the only one right now. There was no way that could work.

Dysmas' body folded inwards as he flailed and sunk into the water. He quickly shot up so that he was standing and looked around him to make sure that there were no naiad laughing at him. Phew. That would have been embarassing. It was strange though, he had been day dreaming about being back on the island, and he heard Sweetie call his name. It had sounded so real... too real. Dysmas did another 180, this time focusing on the shoreline instead of the waters. Sweetie? Dysmas winced, certain his eyes were playing a trick on him.

The male quickly began to swim to shore. It wasn't long before he was walking out of the water, is long ponytail flowing behind him. "Sweetie?" There was more he wanted to say like: is that really you, or what are you doing here. But one was rude and the other implied that he didn't believe that she was really there... and if she was really there, that would make things interesting.

Wolfs Heart
*snickers* Awesome face

Sweetie jumped, trying not to squeal in excitement. He really was there! When he came out of the water, she'd started running towards him. "Dysmas!" This time, she couldn't help but squeal. He was really there! She had to stop herself from tackling him back into the water. He might disappear if she did that...

Oh but she really was seeing him again! "I've missed you so much!" She blushed, reaching out to try and touch him. There was no way this could be an illusion. It just seemed so... so real! Did she want to tell him that she was miserable without him? While it was true, she wasn't entirely certain that she wanted to tell him yet. At least, not until she was certain he missed her as much as she missed him.

He was such a good friend, she didn't want to ruin their friendship by telling him how much she missed this man.

She was running towards him, Dysmas grinned. He braced himself, it look like she might run right into him... or perhaps straight through him. Dysmas suddenly knew why he hadn't been able to sleep well, he had gotten so used to her being there... the accidental cuddles. It had been new and comforting to Dysmas, and it was gone now. It made him feel lonely. Dysmas blushed when she reached out to touch him, suddenly feeling shy and self-conscience.

It was different being home, not being focused on survival, but they had spent so much time together... how could they not grow close?

"It's good to see you again," he said softly. "I have been wondering about you. How have you been doing since you got home?" He felt somewhat satisfied with what he had said, not too distant, not too desperate. Or so he hoped.

Wolfs Heart

Sweetie flushed, almost embarrassed that she was making it such a big deal of seeing him again. It was just so good seeing him again. "I missed you Dysmas." Her gaze dropped for a moment, "So much..." She added in a whisper. This didn't seem like that big of a deal for him. Maybe he didn't want to see her again after everything that had happened on that tiny isle in the middle of the ocean.

"I haven't slept well at all." As if to emphasize her point, Sweetie yawned. "How have you been?" the fauny inquired, looking up at him. Just being able to gaze back into his chocolate eyes, she was ecstatic.

Dysmas' heart pained inside of his chest, all tight as if it was... breaking? He didn't know a heart could feel that way, simply by the words that she spoke. So much for trying to act like he wasn't missing her like crazy, that he actually wanted things to go back to the way they were. "I've missed you too," his voice sounded solemn, serious. "Really, I've been worried about you, but I didn't really know much about going to the tree and all." Dysmas eyes dropped, it was a horrible excuse, but could he really have walked up to the entrance of Laisidhiel and call upon her?

"Really?!" his voice sounded almost ecstatic when she said she wasn't sleeping well. "Me either!" he sounded way more excited about this then he knew he should. His voice returned to a normal tone. "It's just been hard going back to life before all this happened."

Sweetie's blush remained on her face. He did miss her too! She jumped, hugging him. Thank the great tree, she wasn't the only one who was suffering!

"Think it's cuz we aren't in the tree house?" She grinned, trying to make light of it. Neither of them were sleeping well, he probably needed a good long rest as much as she did.

Dysmas smiled, warmed by her hug, though it probably did not have the same effect on her. She had hugged a pae that had only just come out of the water from his swim. "I guess so..." he said as he hugged her back and then realized he was getting water on her and released. He had never admitted to her that he knew she was cuddling with him, mostly because he didn't want to have to explain why he never put a stop to it. Looking sheepishly at his hut just a short way up the shore, it wasn't a good excuse for why he wasn't sleeping, the hut he lived in with his mother was in much better shape then the make-shift one they had made together.

"What's wrong Dysmas?" She frowned, pulling back just a little. He'd just admitted he missed her too and he seemed so sullen behind the smile. Maybe she was reading too much into it. But they'd spent so much time together on the isle and he'd never sounded like that.

Was it because she came to look for him? Was it wrong that she was the one to look, should she have waited for him to come find her? She bit her lip, trying not to let her thoughts run away from her. "Is that your home?" Sweetie asked, glancing in the direction he was looking. It looked nice and cozy compared to the tree they'd slept in. But was it the same?

Dysmas shook his head, "Nothing, I just got out of the water... I wouldn't want to hug me." he kind of chuckled before slowly nodding. "Yup... this is where I grew up." The whole of it, the water and the land. Though it certainly wouldn't look abnormal, there were plenty of pae who lived on the beaches. "You can see it if you like... my inspiration for where we slept. They are nothing alike." He gave her a lazy smile.

"But a hug from you is still a good hug." She crossed her arms, nodding. It didn't matter if she was all wet now. It wouldn't be the first time, and she really doubted it would be the last time either.

"It looks nice and cozy." She smiled, looking from him to the house. "Is it?" Sweetie grinned, mood picking right back up. He offered to show her his home, and it reminded her of the little tree they'd slept in all that time ago. It was probably adorable too. "Do you live with anyone?"

Dysmas squeezed his hair, to let most of the water that was left in it ring out. "Yes, it is a lot better then what I made for us." Though that statement did not do a good job of explaining why he wasn't able to sleep anymore. "This is my mother's home," It sounded embarrassing saying it to Sweetie though he had never thought anything of it before. The place had been built just so that he and his brother could live closer to their father, so it wasn't the most elaborate of places, but it was home. He thoughtlessly grabbed her hand to lead her up the shore to slightly higher ground the hut rested on, far enough away from the water that his mother felt safe.

[I'm not actually sure if Dysmas' brother lives with them anymore or not, and Mene's not online for me to ask so I just won't mention him]

Wolfs Heart
(Makes sense .o. )

It was his mother's home? Well, it did make sense to retreat to comfort after getting stuck on an isle for weeks. She had essentially done the same thing. Or had he just never moved out? It didn't really matter too much to the female, she was just happy to see him again.

"I'm sure it's really nice." She smiled, going along with him. It felt kind of like going to the tree they'd spent their nights in again.
