With all the stress and hectic-ness of the holidays and with their parents invading their house for nearly three weeks for Christmas, New Years and to celebrate Xander the party Lily planned for her brother had to be postponed, everyone she originally invited had to be contacted and made aware of the party's new date.
Now that night was upon them and while there parents were back in England now, that was okay, they'd celebrated with them plenty, no tonight was about friends new and old. Frankly she was surprised Xander had as many friends as he did. Some though she'd had to send a senshi text to and a reminder that this night was strictly non powered to celebrate Xander finishing his residency and being hired on full at the hospital.
She grinned looked at the decorations that covered the first floor of their house, all saying congratulations, thought the party would be held mostly in the kitchen, dining room and living room. Balloons were attached to the gate at the end of the driveway and were tired to a sign in the ground by the front door, kind of a surprise ruiner, but Lily was to excited to care.
Now to just wait for the guest to arrive and of course her brother.
I invited you all to this like I think a month or so ago. It was suppose to mid-december, but that didnt work out so well. If you dont want to play thats fine, since it like much later than I intended originally, but I definitely want to do this before to much time passes and im just like blah forget it.
Feel free to come when you please and leave when you please. There not set end of this. In your quote is the character that was invited, in case you dont remember <3

Of course, at this point, Ulane felt just fine coming early to the party. Granted his early was on time, not that he ever purposely tried to come anything later than on time. As dedicated as he was to his friends, it can be easily said that he was all sorts of distracted on the way here. From stopping to help a little boy who had fell off his bike, to being a sweetie and helping a woman with her groceries, then getting invited for tea and accepting it without hesitation, needless to say that he was grateful for the fact that he had left quite a bit early from his little apartment.
All distractions aside, he was now here, admiring the fluttering balloons attached to the gates, and the signs and the door. Yes, the door was always lovely, regardless of whether or not it was decorated! And as if he lived here, he let himself right in.
"Hello, Lily, I'm here!"

"Get out of the apartment, he said…"
Richard Moreau wasn't having the best of times and it was starting to show. Not only had he grown out a rather full beard, but his hair had gotten a little too long for his tastes, though any attempt to get either of them trimmed was easily thwarted. As far as he was concerned, he could have spent the rest of the year cooped up in his condo with only Baldwin and Dummy to keep him company, but his brother finally convinced him to take his leave, and by convince, he meant swing a broom at his head and threaten to make a taxidermic dummy out of him if he didn't do something.
And what better something than a party for a fellow he met once? Not just any fellow, but a fellow red-head like himself and one that left quite the impression on him when they first met. If this Xander was the same Xander he was thinking of, he'd be a fool not to attend! So, he finally showered, dressed up, and threw a hat on his head to disguise the length of it and made his way out.
Except without his car, he was forced to take a cab, and he was certain that the driver was trying to nickel and dime him as he drove in circles for a good twenty minutes. Finally, after what felt like the umpteenth time, Richard gave up and decided to walk the rest of the way, and as he paid his ridiculously overpriced fare, he made sure to keep a good mental note of this driver's face. A certain Negaverse captain would likely be paying him a visit soon…
"It'll be fun, he said…" Richard grumbled, trying to get his mind off of matters as he looked for the address, and sure enough, it was fairly easy to find. Balloons in the driveway was a clear enough indication of saying 'PARTY OVER HERE' and thus this was all Richard needed to confirm that the driver was ripping him off. Once again, he bottled up all these negative feelings and approached the house, giving the door a few playful taps before walking in. "I'm hoping this is the right place and I haven't just walked in on a child's birthday party… because I assure you, I'm not in my clown attire."

Noah was not a very critical man, so the balloons and various evidences of 'party here' didn't really cross his mind when he arrived and observed it.
He hadn't had much interaction with Xander on a civilian level. It was always training or patrol meet ups but that didn't mitigate the fact he was on board to celebrate the younger knight's accomplishments in his personal life. He was actually looking pretty happy and amiable behind the scruffy personal appearance that was suffering from long work nights of catch up and dealing with a pet amnesiac busboy who decided to accidentally wipe his brain with haphazard and poorly planned purification.
Well amiable enough until his sister collided into his shoulder before he could greet the host, making his wave stop short so he could grunt in annoyance and regain his footing.
"I brought booze!" Zia announced over him, holding the neck of the wine bottle over her head as if in victory.

Jessie was running late. First her gift was misplaced… although how a brightly colored box could be misplaced was a bit of a mystery, then she couldn’t find the right shoes for one of the few dresses she owned, and then to make her even later her mother called to see how she was doing. It took some fast talking and skirting around the truth to give her mom the impression that she was going out with friends for a party and all guys there were taken one way or another. For some reason the last few weeks she had been stressing Jessie’s single status more than normal and Jessie wondered if it had anything to do with the long visit from Jonny and his fiancé. It was a bit surprising to see such a close childhood friend about to get married, not that many of her childhood friends hadn’t already gotten hitched… according to Jonny a few have even gotten married a few times already.
Pondering over the strangeness of such a practice, the repetitive marriage and divorce that some seemed to enjoy, Jessie quickly paid the cab and got out. She took a moment to shake the strange thoughts out of her head and to smooth the wrinkles from her brown dress. Luckily for her the material didn’t take to dirt and wrinkles easily and was quickly situated. It was a simple empire wasted dress that fell to her knees; the only decoration on it was a bit of darker brown pattern on the hem. Simple wedge heals, apparently one made it under the bed, and simple silver jewelry finished the look. Clothes weren’t really Jessie’s thing but she did not wish to stand out in the crowd that was likely to be at this party. After a cursory knock on the door Jessie quickly slipped inside because although her dress was nice it was no real protection against the cold, even her nice coat did little against the cold. She stood off to the side with the present in her hands, wondering where she needed to drop off her gift and coat.

It had take a bit this time for Orah to decide what to wear to Xander's party. Party of it was that it was cold and she needed something warm... part of it was that she still wore her cast and needed something that would fit over it... and the rest of it was that she really wanted to look nice. Not for her or who might be there, but for Xander. The whole reason she was here now rather than laying in a gutter somewhere was because of him... and if nothing else, he deserved some extra care at a party that was all to celebrate his achievements. In the end, she showed up at Lily's in a soft cream dress with a grey sweater and chocolate leggings, knee-high tan boots keeping her legs warm.
Following on the heels of another girl that looked rather familiar, Orah slid into the house behind her with her own present hugged to her chest. She had felt a little awkward about what she picked out, but in the end... it had seemed appropriate. Not knowing what he liked, what he could use... a white and purple flowering Orchid plant would have a lot of meaning, at least for him and her. It would look nice in whatever office he worked from too, and was easy to care for.
"Uh... hi there." She said with a smile to the other girl as she worked her coat off, struggling with both the cast and the flower pot. "I... know you don't I? Jessie, right?"
It seemed as if it was yesterday rather than a few months back that Boaz and Xander last managed to sit down and catch up with each other back at the Accident and Emergency staff lounge. Did the months really pass him by as quickly as that? Boaz found himself wondering as he made his way towards the house that corresponded to the address which he had been given.
The sight of the balloons at the gate were good enough proof that he had the right place and he smiled to himself when he stopped briefly to check the time on his watch and found himself just about on time instead of running terribly late as he seemed to have developed a habit of getting into as of late. Arriving at the door, he tucked the book that he had gotten for Xander beneath his arm so that he could pull off his gloves and slip them into his coat pocket before giving the door a light rap with his knuckles and then making his way in.
~~~~~~~~ "Hold the door please!"
There was the sound of heels clicking against the driveway behind Boaz and then the heavy panting of someone trying to catch her breath as Qiuyue peeked behind the door to beam at the surprised blond who had held the door open at her request then rested her hand against it to keep it open so that he could be on his way. Boy had she gotten horribly lost in these parts and as a result been out in the cold for way longer than she had intended to.
Rubbing her hands vigorously together, she stomped on the ground a few times in an attempt to warm herself up some. The invitation had caught her entirely by surprise really. Sure she and Xander had had a couple of rounds of checkers at the park on weekend mornings when he didn't have to work but she hadn't thought of the both of them as being good enough friends to be included in something like this.
Or maybe it was just a matter of her not being used to the hospitality of the locals in Destiny City. Shrugging to herself, she thanked the blond who had kindly held the door open for her then stepped into the welcoming warmth of the house with a soft purr of delight.
Jessie turned towards the next guest and was surprised that she vaguely recognized her. As she was trying to figure out where she knew her from the other girl struggled with her coat and the flower. “Oh… um here let me…” Jessie fished the flower pot from her hand and did a quick juggling act with her own gift. “Um… yeah… I know I’ve seen you…” The name escaped her but she swore she had met this younger lady before. Random facts from books, hundreds of lines of text, but a name? Those she tended to forget the fastest, but not faces… rarely faces. Could they have met at the job fair? The Carnival? The Con? Or even one of the other random events that Jessie had gone to ever since her mother started to push her into going out more. Or could this young lady be one of the many she had met since becoming a knight?
Quinn had just spent a rather fruitless conversation with his mother about his birthday. Apparently she wanted to throw this extravagant ball with all the families and friends that still swam in his parents circle. It never crossed her mind that he didn’t want to be strapped into a tux and calling on the other movers and shakers in the city. He would much rather be in a camo jumpsuit shooting people with a paint ball gun. It had taken a bit of compromise but his mother agreed that Quinn can plan and have his party the way he wants as long as it was a true party in the general sense… a dj or band, dancing, presents, and party favors… which she said that she would take care of. He had a little over a week to get this figured out or his mom would have a fit over her ‘baby’s’ lack of care for his own ‘big day’.
He gladly turned away from the computer when his phone chirped to remind him of a party for Xander. The invite had come as a surprise since he hadn’t seen the tall redhead in a few months but Lily invited him and he would feel like a heal if he didn’t at least show for a little bit so with a quick pat to Isis and a few moments to wrap his gift, Quinn was on his way to Xander’s party on his new bike.
He had, thankfully, been notified of the change in dates for the party. It made sense though, with the holidays and Xander's family here from England. He'd been tempted to join them, see his secondary parents, his mother had invited the two parents out to dinner on at least one occasion that he knew of. His mother had missed her long time friends and had rushed to invite them even before they'd landed on US soil; really no surprise there.
he could have tried to impose, at least it would feel like it, and join the family celebrations for Xander's graduation. he'd not done it though, deciding to wait for the party Lily had planned for her older brother.
It wasn't his fault, not really anyway, that he was running late. He'd just had an issue in finding the right thing to wear and once he'd finally managed that there had been the shower and drying off followed quickly by dressing. By the time those things were done he was cutting it close. Add to that he had the gift to get downstairs, a hungry dog to feed, and a note to leave on the fridge for Alois about food to re--heat and a cake he'd bought in the microwave - so Cadha didn't find some way to get it, he'd hurried off for the Jacob's home. Parking out front, distracted for a moment by the balloon, he hit the curb and went up over it before coming back down with a jarring jolt. Groaning, not from pain or any such thing, he parked finally and cut the engine before he stepped out. Leaning over to the passenger seat to retrieve the others gift he stood back up and closed the door, hitting the lock and alarm button, he headed up the driveway to the house. As he approached the door he was getting his key ready, he'd had a house key for years to the Jacob's home, but soon found it unneeded - the door it seemed was unlocked.
Opening the door he stepped in, late, with a wrapped gift basket in his hand. "Xander, Lily!" Calling out in a bright voice. he wondered, for a single moment, if he'd know anyone else who was there. He sort of felt nervous, like he had as a child when Lily would go off and play with other children. he'd only ever had her and he'd been possessive and jealous over her. He disliked her playing with other children; all the while refusing to make any other friends of his own. He didn't, in this moment, like the idea of other people here who he didn't know. It made him nervous as he doubted he'd know anyone else here and he had to share and keep himself in check. What things could be said, between Xander or Lily and these other people, that he'd be utterly lost on? References to things, inside jokes, and other such things? No, no it wasn't a time to think such things. This was a time to party and celebrate Xander's hard earned achievement.
Lily was in the dining room, making sure the food was set out properly. It was to much for her to cook on her own and well, even though she had learned to cook in the past two years, this much was beyond her skill level, but she had helped their cook as much as possible before he'd gone home for the night.
At Ulane's voice announcing his presence, she called out in responce, "I'm coming," before setting the tray of food down and heading out into the hallway and greeting her friend with a big hug and she was a sure a face full of red hair, which was growing back, though she debated cutting it again.
The door opened once more and in walked a red headed man, as Lily released Ulane from her bear hug. She smiled at him, "You must be um Richard right?" While she didn't know the how the pair met she did know Richard was a red head Xander met at the pool. That surprised her because she knew Xander didnt socialize at the pool, but it made her happy.
"Welcome," she said approaching him and holding out a hand. "I'm Liliana Jacobs, Xander's younger sister. It's nice to meet you. You're one of the first to arrive but everyone else should be here soon. Feel free to ..."
She looked to the door again when it opened and in walked Noah, then Zia burst in behind him. "Zia, Noah," she exclaimed. She looked back to Richard and gave a smile. "Sorry, feel free to mingle. Xander will hopefully be the last to arrive, it a bit of a surprise.
She moved over to Zia and Noah, giving Zia a big hug. "I don't see you enough," she complained lightly with a small laugh before releasing her. "You can put the wine in the dining room with the rest of the food." She looked to Noah and smiled, "thanks for coming Noah. Come on," she said grabbing his arm and gragging him away from the entryway, "mingle a little."
She turned at the knock on the door, releasing Noah and grining as her friend and teammate walked through the door. "Hey Jessie. Glad to see you as always. Hope you haven't got any bruises left over from paintball," she said with a grin, since it hadn't been to many days since they'd gone paintballing with the rest of the team. It had been fun until that youma showed up.
She waved Jessie to come over before turning back to the others not catching Orah slip in behind until she heard talking behing her and turned again before blushing slightly and heading over to Jessie and Orah.
"I'm sorry ... Hi Orah. Let me take those Jessie," she said taking the flower and Jessie's gift too. "You can hang your coats on the coat rack," she said pointing it out the left of the door, "or in the hallway closet." She pointed it out just beyond the opening for the living room.
"I'll be right back, just going to put these in the dining room," she said heading off.
When she came back she found more people to great standing in her entry was one of which was her little brother in everything but blood, who she missed so so much.
She hurried over to them smiling as she reached Boaz, she had seen him at the hospital before, "Thank for coming," she said, "Xander will really appreciate it. I'm sure you know how much effort goes into becoming a doctor."
She looked to Quiyue extending her hand, "Nice to meet you and thanks for coming. I'm Liliana Jacobs. You can put you coat on the coat rack on in the coat closet and feel free to mingle." She gave another smile before moving to her brother.
"Alex, I missed you so much. Sorry our brother and I haven't dropped by much. School, work, and my parents being back in town until a week ago, was so much." She gave him a big hug and squeezed him tight before whispering, "try to have fun okay."
She looked around wondering where Hannah was but she looked at the time and realized Xander would be back soon. She released Alex and turned to the group. "Alright, Xander should be here any minute. He doesn't know I planned all this, so we get to surprise him, even thought the balloons outside are a bit of a surprise ruiner, but I didn't want anyone to get lost around here."
Orah smiled as the girl, Jessie, took the flower pot from her while she worked to get her coat off over her cast.
"You work at a bookstore, right? I think that's where I met you." The teen smiled, turning that expression on Lily when she appeared to take the gifts. "Hi Lily!" She said as she went to hang up her coat. There were lots of people appearing now, a good few that she didn't know, or only in passing.
There was the purple haired woman from the cafe, waving a wine bottle. A man that looked related to her. Oh! And there was someone she recognized.
"I remember you." She said to the blonde that had come in behind her. "Alex, right? You bought flowers from me once, for a painting. Its nice to see you again, I hope you've been well."
It was a bit of a shame she didn't know the people here better... but the teen was happy to be here anyway, happy to support her friend and maybe get the chance to meet some new people and get to know others better. She figured it was better to look on the brighter side of things.
"OH! Yes you popped in shortly before a book club meeting." Jessie smiled as she finally remembered the younger lady arriving at the store several months ago. "Did you enjoy your book?" She turned to Lily and gave up her two burdens gratefully. "Just a little sore, nothing terribly painful." She enjoyed the paint ball.... the battle that occurred during the training... Not so much.
She glanced around and realized there were more people coming in the door and it seemed like it was time to move out from the front hall, "Would you like me to put away your coat?" She offered to Orah since it would make the other girl's life a bit easier and it would get Jessie out of the flow of things. Other then a glimpse of lilac hair which Jessie figured was from Zia she didn't recognize anyone else in the party. Could she had met anyone as Pompeii? It wasn't like she would have recognized them as normal people right now. Lily explained that it was a glamour that helped protect them from those that would want to hurt them.
At the call of his name, Richard turned to look at the lovely lady that had called to him, and immediately his decision to come to this party was more than justified now. Not that celebrating Xander's residency wasn't enough of a reason to come, but he was unaware that he had a younger sister, and immediately he beamed, taking the hand that was offered to him and giving it a gentle squeeze, resisting the urge to pull it up and give it a kiss. That's be TOO forward, but not unsurprising for the red-head confectioner. "Liliana, it's a pleasure to meet you. Your brother never mentioned you, but that was because he was too busy saving my life to have brought you up. I wish he had- I'm afraid my eyes were not prepared for such a sight."
Had there been more time, he would have liked to have gotten acquainted with her, but seeing as more and more people flocked in, he couldn't blame her for tending to her duties. After all it was clear that she was the host of the party and he let her go without a fuss, not at all upset or offended that her attention was drawn elsewhere now. He flashed a look to Ulane, giving him a wink as he addressed the rather fine looking young man that was honored with a hug from such a lady. "Lots of colorful characters here. Xander certainly has a good eye when it comes to making friends, and the family's not so bad either."
His eyes caught sight of a familiar face among the crowd, and now his grin became more jovial as he approached Boaz. He waited patiently as Liliana welcomed him, thinking of what a fine coincidence this was to meet his friend and fellow officer there, though once he recalled his friend's occupation, perhaps it was destiny that he'd see him here. When Liliana moved to the next person of interest, Richard leaned over and whispered into Boaz here, doing his best to sound as seductive as possible and trying not to laugh. "Yeeeees, so very harrrrrrrd!"
Lily's hug was more than welcomed, and if it hadn't of been the fact that there were people coming in rapidly around them, he would have more than likely picked her up and swung her around. Her hugs were always very warm and excited, and that just drifted right into him. Not that he wasn't plenty excited already! Parties were always amazing, seriously, no matter what. Parties were the best! And with Lily here and Xander coming soon, it was to be the perfect party!
He pulled away from her as she did to him, for as the hostess, she was the one to be in charge of such things, to which he supported her one thousand percent. And though normally he would be bounding around interacting with everyone else, his mind focused on being the second one to greet the celebratory boy when he came in. Of course, Lily would be the first one, since they were related and all, but the second place was all claimed his own.
The wink from Richard did not go unnoticed, and he grinned rather cheekily back at the man. It wasn't often when he was openly flirted with, or atleast it didn't seem that way to him. Even with the few words given to him, he was soon left behind, not that he mattered all too much. The door was RIGHT THERE. And he wanted to be ready. So very ready.
Mrs. Carrington parked her vehicle along the side walk just outside the Jacob residence "Go have fun! I should be done with everything in about an hour to an hour and a half."
"Kay, thanks mom!" Hannah leaned over and gave her mom a brief hug before stepping outside the car and closing the door behind her. Marveling at the sheer size of their home she made her way towards the gate which had been decorated with balloons.
"Hey Hannah!" Mrs. Carrington rolled down the window, "Hannah..." she called again "the box?"
With a puzzled look Hannah turned around not sure what her mom was talking about until she remembered the present that was sitting in the back seat. Sure it was something cheesy but it was all in good fun. "Ah, thank you." she replied, opening the back door to retrieve the gift - yes they had already given him a gift certificate back at the paintball event but this one she had made herself - with a little help of course. Closing the door once more she flashed her mom a thank you smile "See you later!"
Feeling slightly guilty for being late she made haste in entering the gate and more or less powering walking up the driveway in hopes that she at least beat Dr. Jacobs home.
Kaori_luv
Xander drove up to the gate and gave a puzzled expression at the balloons at the gate, but eventually just shook his head and drove in. He figured Lily must have invited a few of a her friends over. Which was probably why she sent him out to get some more food.
He was surprised by the cars in the driveway and even more surprised to see Hannah walking up to the door. He parked and got out, trying to stay enough out of the way no one would hit him when leaving. He hopped out and called out to Hannah, "Hello Hannah, Lily invite you over to hang out?"
He pulled the few bags of groceries and house things out of the car before looking back to Hannah, "I had no idea she was having company. She could have just told me, silly girl. Must have slipped her mind."
Shanyume
Hannah immediately froze mid step when she heard Xander’s voice call out to her. Crap, she thought looking longingly at the front door so close… yet so far away she thought with a mental sigh. Just her luck right? Show up just a bit late due to morning errands running a slightly longer than anticipated, of course fate would have it that she’d be caught red handed mere feet from the entry way holding a gift none the less for some obscure reason. At least it didn’t have his name on it…
Turning her head around, looking over her shoulder, she flashed Xander a welcome-home smile as he closed the door his vehicle upon exiting. ”Hi there! Yeah, we made plans a while ago it just kept getting postponed.” she replied, doing her best to hide the surprised all the while not giving anything away. However, to be honest it wasn’t a complete lie; the two of them had been meaning to hang out for a while now; today just happened to be for a different reason.
Not wanting to touch his last comment with a ten foot pole she instead shrugged her shoulders and responded with an ”I don’t know. Possibly?” Play dumb, yeah because that always works so well. she thought to herself, mentally rolling her eyes at herself.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Hannah waited for Xander to catch up to her. There was no way in hell she was going to be that person, who arrives late (okay so she already failed the first part but that's besides the point) and spoils the surprise by being the wrong person to walk through the door. Yeah… Nope that last part, not going to happen! The plan- to trail behind him and let him open the door; if at all possible hide off to the side then make a break for Lily. All that’s left was to not say anything… between here and their destination… I got this
Kaori_luv
Xander took Hannah's words with a nod, it wasn't as though his sister wasn't a social butterfly. She certainly didn't have a shortage of friends or aquaintances. He hurried to catch up to Hannah when she stopped to wait for him.
He then noticed the box in her hand and gave Hannah quizzical look. "What in the box? Lily ask you to bring something," he gave a small laugh, "hopefully not a cat. Seriously we're not home enough for a pet, though I'm expecting for one to turn up sooner or later."
He gave a small resigned sigh as he made his way up the front steps and to the door. "Just have to get me key," he said patting his pockets, "though if she is expecting you the door might be open."
With that he reached out and turned the handle ...
Shayume
"Huh?" Hannah looked down at the box in her arms as she fell in step next to Xander once he caught up to her. Biting down on her lower lip she knew she couldn't up n' tell him what was inside or say it was for him... yet. "Oh! Um I'm sorry outside of doctor patient confidentiality I don't trust you to keep a secret you'll just have to wait till we get inside with Lily."
With a mischievous grin she looked back up at him, a smile that betrayed her distrust of his ability to keep a secret, a tell tell sign that she was teasing. "I can tell you it's not a cat, though I'm pretty sure there's a no return policy."because I kind of made it...
