Minerva was a year old now and Esmeralda had observed her often grappling onto things to stand up, the Dovaa had thought this was probably the ripe time to start teaching her daughter how to walk. With Minerva on her hip, bouncing and giggling while playing with her mom’s hair, Esme went to find Eku in the house. “Ekundayo, I think we should teach Minerva to walk. What do you think?” The little girl in her arms turned and looked at her father, large eyes and smiling as she made grabby hands towards him. “Daaa” she said in her childish voice.

Ekundayo was delved in his studies at their library of their home for the longest ever. Taking care of his darling little girl is truly a gift, but he had neglected his other duties being a mage. He does need to be on top of his skill, and at the same time he needs to keep it away from Minerva for he is afraid that she might be afraid of her silly father. That would break his heart. "Hm?" Finally he was out of his thoughts when Esmeralda called out for him about teaching her to walk. "Ah! Dat be a good idea Esmy~" She was growing bigger now, however it means he needs to hide all his books away too.
Putting everything away, he left the library to go and look for his dear wife and child. "Dere be me loves of me life!" He cheerfully greeted them, reaching out to pick up Minerva from Esmeralda's hold for a big hug and leaned over give the Dovaa a kiss upon her lips. "Lets do dis outside, yea?" He was afraid that she might walk into the furniture around the house.

Esmeralda released Minerva to her father and smiled brightly when he kissed her. “Sure we can go outside.” It was nice and bright out and since the grass was a little taller than those who groomed their lawn, if Minerva happened to fall it wouldn’t hurt her as much. Esme figured learning to walk was going to have lotsa of falling and then getting back up for some walking. Minerva grabbed onto her father’s face and also gave him kisses as he carried her. Yes she loved her mom very much, but her father she loved just a tad bit more.

"Ya hear dat? We be goin' outside!" He laughed as he carried Minerva out and trying not to wince in pain for her grip has gotten a little stronger too; smiling more at the kisses. Those who messed around with their baby will be in big trouble by her, and he will be laughing so much.
It was a good day seeing how bright it is outside, but not blinding. "Okay, lets see . . ." Glancing over to Esmeralda in seeing if she knows what to do about this because she has younger siblings who needed to learn how to walk. The mage set her down on the grass to have Minerva first stand with the help of holding on to her little hands. His long tail swished about behind him on how happy he is now.

Once Ekundayo settled himself down. Esmeralda also sat down on the grass a little ways from both of them. “My mother told me that first she needs to learn balance and then we can see if she’ll come to me walking.” The Peisio Dovaa watches as Eku holds Minerva up. She wobbles a bit, laughing all the while of course because this is all a game to her. “When you feel she’s wiggling about less, you can try and let her go and I’ll call her to see if she comes over walking.” Esmeralda would be ready in case Minerva ended up falling.

His hollowed eyes looked up to her in hearing what her mother would do in teaching her children to walk. It sounded simple enough, right? "Ah, okay den . . ." He stares at Minnie, wondering if she is ready for her big step as he smiled. "Are ya okay dere? I be lettin' ya go soon Minnie . . ." That is, if he is willing to let her go because while the grass is a little long and softer than the floor, the Oblivionite didn't want her to get hurt and cry.
Soon, he was feeling her wiggling less and less around in his hands which was the sign he needs. "Okay! Here we go . . ." His hands were a little hesitant at first, but slowly he let go of his hands to let Minnie stand on her own with his hands still around her just in case if she loses her balance.

Esmeralda watched carefully when Ekundayo let go of Minerva, she seemed to be doing okay. Minerva was still laughing and waving her hands about when Ekundayo released her, though she would occasionally grab onto him if she did feel like she was falling. Esmeralda gave her a few minutes before calling out her name. Minerva turned around and took a hesitant step towards her mother, then she took another and another before she tried to run and she got a few more steps but fell short and fell forward. Esmeralda leaned forward just in time to catch her in her arms. “Careful.” Esmeralda straightened her up and turned her towards Ekundayo. “Go see daddy now.”

He was hovering around her in complete worry that she will hurt herself when or if she falls over. Ekundayo was smiling in hearing his daughter's cute little laugh, and he was feeling so proud of her on how she is doing so far when Esmeralda called out for her. During the time of taking her first steps, he was holding his breath so much and trying not to follow behind her. He was grinning widely on how far she is able to get to her mother and she even run! "Good job Minnie!" The mage was so happy and now it was his turn as he stepped a little back for her. "C'mon, ya can do it!" His arms were wide open to catch his little girl if she fell forward again.

Of course once more Minerva went running towards her father but she didn’t quite make it to him in her hurry. Instead she fumbled in her steps and went down face first into the grass and began immediately crying her little heart out while rolling over and grabbing her nose. Esmeralda made a face, eyes growing wide in horror as Minerva fell. Uh oh, she knew what was coming and when Minerva began crying she crawled up to her daughter, pulling her close and nuzzling her cheek. “You’re okay baby, better make it to daddy before he leaves.” That got Minerva’s attention alright, Esmeralda knew her crying was superficial and indeed it was. The little girl turned and looked for her father. “Daddy…?”
