Following a possible lead, Grendel found her self wondering with Alma. It was unusual as her mother was always with them. At least she thought so. Looking down at the child walking by her side, Grendel frowned feeling bad. The red-headed Nymph had left her child with her mother. What happened with the fall convinced her that Morena was not the best caretaker.
She didn't hate the child, but how she was turning out freaked her out. The kid was weird, and broken. She was not a failure of a mother, she wasn't! However, being around the child made her feel that way. There was a solution, find the child's father.
Raziel was the father, a blue demon she remembered from a rather crazy Valentines party. For all her flirt and play, the girl knew anyone she fooled around with and was certain of the father. Thats why she was walking around in the cursed woods risking her perfect hair to leaves and branches. He was around here somewhere, or so she was lead to believe, and when she found him he would man up or so help her! She had a Morningstar, not on her but she had it safe and she knew how to use it!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For her part, Alma walked mutely beside her mother with a hand always on her leg. She had to know Momma was still there, the fall haunting her still. Nothing was said to her as to why they were out there without Grannie being obviously with them. Still it was time with Momma so that was always nice.

Tora stretched, tail flicking back and forth as she followed the ghost laterns that were leading her through the forest. She had been trying so hard to learn to just listen to them. They usually knew exactly where she needed to go, even if she didn't know herself. It wasn't until one suddenly didn't appear, and then another, and another. Tora must be where she needed to go. But there was no one here? With a yawn, she licked her lips and settled in for a short cat nap.
At least, until there was rustling a little way off. Grumbling, she stood back up, looking for the noise.
"Hello?" She called, a perfectly feminine voice out of the forest. That was sure not to bring attention to herself. Tora's eyes rolled, wondering if this was someone she should be running from.

Grendel stopped when she heard the voice. It wasn't one she knew and certainly the wrong gender to be the one she was looking for. Briefly she considered ignoring it. However, she would not find the pae she was actually looking for on her own. Chance didn't favor her that much, "Hello, I am Grendel, I am looking for Raziel. A blue demon green inner wings and brown hair, have you seen him?" She ran a hand through a few strands of her lush red hair and shifted impatiently.
She never liked talking to someone she couldn't see. The child at her side was behaving her self and staying still so that was one plus so far.

Tora tilted her head, emerging from the trees. "Sorry, had a leaf in my ear. Did you ask for Razi?" Her Razi? It couldn't be. He would've told her wouldn't he? But then, Raziel hadn't know what to do when she was pregnant, or even what was going on. Maybe he didn't know this pretty lady was coming for him.
"How do you know Raziel?" She queried, flicking her tail back and forth. This lady... She didn't smell right. Maybe that was why Tora wasn't too keen on her. Who was she kidding, she just wanted to hide behind her mask and pretend she was someone else. Until Tora knew, she wasn't going to offer much more information. Clearly she did know Razi, but how was still up for debate.

Grendel took in the demoness, gauging her by her bazaar appearance. She had demons in her blood lines, parents whom she remembered but hadn't seen in ages. None of them had a tail like this one's. She had considered asking what happened to it but decided it wasn't important, she knew of the demon she sought and that was good enough. "I know him," She answered confidently, "Because I am the mother of his child. This," her hand motioned down at the deceptively young looking child to start to introduce her.
Alma took that moment to ask in a shy voice, "Who is she? Is she rea-" Her question was cut off when she received a firm knock to the top of her head. Wincing, the child whined and placed both hands protectively over her head. She gave a heartbroken pout and fell silent.
Grendel had reacted as soon as she she heard what she knew the child would say. The act did its job, silencing her before she could do damage, "Alma, be silent." Her words were firm and her eyes narrowed at the child.
Shaking her head she looked back at the stripped adult, "Alma is his daughter. I have taken care of her for more seasons then her age would suggest. It is his turn. Can you take me to him?" The sooner she got Alma with her father the better, the kid would ruin it if given the chance.

Razi had another kid? Tora's temper flared, eyes narrowing and tail swishing faster. Guardians help him, she was not a happy demoness. "His first child. He's had more since you." She tried not to growl. Tora wasn't liking this situation at all. But there was a little kid involved, she couldn't let the kid know that she was upset. That wasn't something children needed to deal with. This was an adult issue.
"Can't believe he never told me about you... Or her." Tora sighed, pushing everything aside. It had to wait. "I would take you to him, but he's not home right now. Not even sure where he's run off to to be honest." She shook her head, shifting her wings on her back. She was lying. She could find him if she really wanted to. She just had to ask the lanterns. They would take her there if she had to find him. But she wasn't going to ask. Not this time. Raziel was in trouble for not telling her he had kids before she met him.
"Best I can offer is trying to take you to our house and see if he's home yet or not.

Grendel placed a hand on her hip and looked at the demon with narrowed eyes. By the behavior she guessed she found the misses. Her mother would be proud, causing issues. While not trying to get him off the hook, she tossed out, "It gets crazy around the Erotes parties." Shrugging her shoulders, she didn't much care so long as she could get Alma here and begone before she changed her mind.
"Thats fine, Alma can wait there." As a preemptive measure she put her hand on the child's head. This time she didn't strike her but the action would help to keep the kid quite long enough, she hoped.

Tora frowned a little, not buying it. She'd never been to one of those parties this Grendel was speaking of. To be honest, she'd never wanted to either. From everything she heard of happening, Tora was fairly certain it was just a terrible idea to attend one of these things.
"Are you just... Finished trying to raise her?" The demoness asked, flicking her tail at a far more sedate pace. "Just through with taking care of your daughter?" There was a thought trailing through her mind, worried about the girl. She'd already been struck into being quiet, did that mean this parent wasn't really willing to finish raising something she started? Regardless of Razi being the girl's father or not, Tora couldn't let that happen.

The nymph narrowed her eyes at the cat demon, placing one hand on her hip. She wasn't about to take being judged by anyone much less a total stranger, "I have done my time, more seasons then you can imagine. Its high time her father took some responsibility and took her for a while." She jutted out her sharp wings, the appendages breaking the red waterfall of hair. The act was a show that she was not one to be messed with.
All she wanted to was get the kid to her father and get out, cat-thing had no right to judge her!
Alma had a bit of an idea of what was going on. She knew she was being talked about and that Momma was going to go away. Compound that with the tension she could feel in the are, the child felt like everything was her fault. Her green eyes fell as she started to tear up. Knowing far better that to start crying aloud, the small child managed to keep her self silent still. It was better then the punishment that could come her way. Momma wasn't happy and that was never a good thing

Tora shrugged. "I believe you, but do you really want to see Razi?" She asked, tilting her head. "And I'm sure you've done a wonderful job. Just wanted to offer you an out." The demoness rolled her shoulders, stretching. It was almost nap time, something she was more than ready for, regardless of how angry she was at Razi for not telling her about this.
"You've got leaves in your hair." Her blue gaze flicked up, glancing at the debris that had lodged itself inside the dark red curling locks.

She paused, looking right at the demoness and weighing her options. With no clue who this female was, the idea of leaving Alma with her wasn't easy. It seemed obvious that she knew Raziel with the use of the nickname it was not a far leap to decide they were close.
For a few brief moments she almost turned down the idea offer of leaving her child with the other. One look at Alma reminded her just why she is here in the first place, "If you'll take her to her father, or look after her in his stead, then that would be agreeable." It was debatable if the other had the ability to care for a child as...special as Alma. Normal mothers don't worry about children walking off cliffs. Babies might because they don't know better, a child should.
This was going to be a deadly learning curve.
"What?!" The nymph panicked raising her hands to knock the leaves out of her beautiful hair. Spending more time and showing more affection to her lush locks then she had on Alma during this encounter, the frazzled lady had more reason to leave.
Pausing long enough to look down at the child, she said in the same firm tone, "Alma, go say hello to the lady." When it appeared the child wasn't going to hop to and just follow her command she narrowed her eyes and said again, "Alma." The name came out as a warning, "Go and be nice, say hello to a new friend." This time of all times she was not going to play soft with the child.
Alma had indeed wanted to resist going to the figure she didn't know. Her Momma wasn't going to let her not do that. Unwilling to disobey after as second direct order, the child reluctantly released her hold on her mother.
Stepping forward, she started to walk forward. Her feet dragged and her little head hung a little bit. She felt like she was being punished for being, as her mother called her, broken.

"I swear to you, she will have a roof over her head." Tora held up her hand, trying to display honesty. She was telling the truth, not that it would appear so. Tora was still debating actually taking Alma back to meet Razi, but Grendel didn't need to know that.
"You should go take care of your hair." Tora's tail started swaying again, betraying her moods. At least this time, it wasn't agitation. This time, it was simple dislike for the other woman. Not only did she have a child with HER Razi, she was dumping the kid off on Tora and Razi because she cared more about her hair. Not that Tora had a place to judge. She herself had been more concerned with where the next fish was going to come from.
Squatting down to see Alma eye to eye, "It's nice to meet you Alma." She smiled, holding her hand out. "I'm Tora, you can call me Aunty T." Tora didn't expect to be called mom. Her own children didn't really call her that either.

Grendel nodded, "Then that will work." Some one would take care of the child. It was her job to see to it that the child was cared for, no one said she had to be the one to do it her whole life.
This cat demon she didn't care for either. Her eyes narrowed and fist balled for a moment. Had Alma not been involved she'd be more willing to fight it out. Verbally, though she could throw down if the need arises.
Rather then give in to her anger, she turned on her heal and took off. Unwilling or unable, she did not stop to look back. It was fully her intent to be out of hearing range when Alma figured out she had really been left.
Alma approached the strange new pae, she smiled at the smile given to her. Looking at her hand the child scrunched her brown and reached her own out hesitantly.
When her hand touched the other, the child's hand flew back like she'd been burned. With wide eyes she really looked at Tora as if it was her first time really seeing her. "You are real-real?" She reached out again to touch her hand this time not pulling back.
There was wonder in this moment, another real-real creature. "Hi Aunty T." With out hesitation she accepted the name she was to call the other. Smiling now, she turned to look back at her Momma. Only, there was no Momma.
She had thought this all a trick, a punishment. But Aunty T was real-real, and Momma wasn't there. It was dawning on her that his really wasn't a trick. "Momma?" The child called her voice starting out low. With no response from her mother she called out again, this time crying hard, "Momma!!" However the pae she sought was no where to be seen having left quickly.

Tora knew it wasn't going to be easy. She still wasn't certain how one could just leave their child with a total stranger. But it wasn't her concern now. Now she just wanted to take care of Alma.
"Yes, I'm real-real." She smiled, gently reaching to pick up Alma. "Come here Alma." Tora was worried, knowing this wasn't going to come out nicely. Not at all. The only thing that might even work was to show the girl she wasn't alone. Tora was barely sure she knew how to do that. "It'll be okay Alma, you get to meet your daddy now." The demoness offered, still trying to cheer the child up a little.

With her mother no where in sight, she turned her tear-filled eyes to Tora. The offer was immediately accepted, she reached up to Tora to be picked up. Her Momma was gone, and Grannie had been no where to be seen. Her world had been shaken so completely that all she wanted was to be held and cuddled.
With innocent curiosity she asked, "What is a daddy? Someone who takes bad, broken children?" Her Momma hadn't been clear what exactly a daddy was; however, her pleas to be good had not saved her. That had to mean daddies were for bad children. How she was bad she still didn't understand but maybe a daddy would. "Are they scary?" Still thinking a daddy was a thing not a particular person, she was more scared.
