musicaloner7 The small filly was on her usual patrol on the outskirts of the territory her parents had claimed for the duration of raising her and her siblings. It was in a thickly wooded forest, lacking many if any predators or carnivores that may want to feast on foal flesh, and it held a great deal of natural protection and resources for survival. The young warrior was proud of her family, and the spot she could call home... and she wouldn't allow anyone to threaten it... Marching firmly along, head held high, nostrils flared, and ears wavering about like radar's, the foal kept a diligent eye, checking every area in her vision thoroughly, scenting the air... so far, nothing but the normal wildlife frolicking about...

Ignatius walked ahead of his father, taking falls every few steppes like he was some sort of out of practice clown doing a routine for big top show. Every time he fell, though, Dante was right there behind him to help him back up onto his feet.
"Steady on, little one," he said as he nudged Ignatius up from his latest fall.
"I'm okay, dad!" he said, eagerly pulling himself back up. It didn't hurt, it never hurt. His legs just seemed to become tired so much quicker than those of his siblings. It didn't mean he enjoyed games any less, or walks with his father for that matter. Maybe soon his wings would be strong enough to fly and he would be able to forget about walking all together. "How much further to the pond?"

musicaloner7 Her ears would go rigid when a bird would fly by, or a squirrel would hop from one tree to the next, eyes darting up to follow them, her movements taking pause too, only resuming when the natural hum of her surroundings returned to normal. On occassion her gaze would wander to a few greens that seemed appealing, but she had to resist their temptation! no good warrior would let anything distract them from their goal and duty! puffing herself up more, the large filly strutted on along her route.
However... something managed to travel on the back of the wind as it brushed on by, making her nose twitch, and ears flick upright, alert and at the ready. Head raising, her bright blue gems darted about rapidly, following the small clue of something afoot... a new perfume... intertwined with another... Those sharp eyes narrowed, and her movements were slower as she waited, and watched, leaving no area unscanned. Someone was near.... Someone she didn't know. Good thing she'd sharpened her horn that morning, the heriditary weapon gleaming and shining beautifully when the sunlight caught it.

"Not much further," Dante answered. "It's just beyond those trees there." They had only recently moved to their new home, and they had no idea how close it was to the territory of another family.

Ignatius nodded, then started taking his little steps forward again. The open field had been easier. The roots and stones in this forest made it difficult for him to land any solid footing. Being so set on finding his path and so oblivious to the dangers of the world, he wasn't playing any attention what so ever to the things that might be lurking in the woods.
Fortunately for him, daddy wasn't going to be caught off guard. The larger stallion was looking about, ears twitching as he listened for the telltale signs that there may be an unwelcome visitor on the approach.
His young son snapping a small twig with a step step brought all of his attention back to the foal for just a moment.
As if he'd seen his father lower his head Ignatius shouted, "I'm fine!"

musicaloner7 Something was off... amiss. The usual sounds of the nature that surrounded her was off somewhat, a few birds absent from their usual songs, a few small critters racing her way to avoid... something. Narrowing her eyes, brows laying heavy over her bright blue gaze, the filly took action.
She left her usual post to explore a little further out from the designated line of territory that surrounded her family's home. She never was to leave the created area, but... something was up... and it was approaching... and that was not ok. Athena followed the small signs that were left for her, and scented the air ceaselessly to keep on that strange cologne, until--
There. Just beyond a few collected tree's, was a pair of strangers, walking through without a care in the world. Her teeth grit, and wrinkles rippled along her snout. How dare they... Muscles tightening and flexing, the foal bounded ahead, charging into the line of fire! ...even if there wasn't any. She raced around to get right in front of the two, to block them. Standing her ground firmly, she flared her nostrils and made a whiny of warning, "What do you think you're doing here?" she snapped at them, head slightly lowered to poise her tiny little horn in threat.
