[Aim Log]

The sun's warm rays were pleasant..the day had drifted by in a rather lazy manner. It was common to never see eye nor tail of another mare or stallion for weeks on end. Most would find such an existence lonely but, Vedis found it decent enough. The creatures of her forest home kept the mare company, always singing or hopping along after her. With a well worn, slightly damaged basket handle held firmly within her mouth she continued onwards. Today Vedis needed to reach the outskirts of her territory..to make sure all was well.

The day was done, and it was finally time for Rhys to come out from his slumber to enjoy the beauty of the night. Already his firefly friends were dancing around, a few resting on his small horns. "Another wonderful eve in good company.." He mused, watching them with a chuckle. He enjoyed the way the final rays of sun set against the mountains, casting beautiful colours into the world as it seemed his surroundings were cast in a low orange hue. "I believe we are to be blessed with falling stars tonight, my friends, so let go watch shall me?" He offered to the silence of the bugs. Yet he didn't mind, they meant the world to him so if others thought he was crazy then so be it.

After gathering the last of her herbs and roots Vedis hurried back towards home..only pausing when a voice caught her ears. Distant..but, it had to be a voice. Curious the mare began walking towards the sound, always happy to meet another. Once close enough her silent footfalls vanished..body going very still. Her gaze swept over the bright stallion and the tiny glowing fireflies. Not wishing to startle the stallion she purposefully let a hoof bump against a nearby fallen tree branch. "Hello? What brings you and your pretty glowing fireflies here?" Smiling Vedis move closer, eyes soft and filled with curiosity.

Flicking his ears up his eyes trailed about his surroundings, unaware he had more than just his fireflies for company this evening. It was then he spotted her, like the first snow of winter against such warm greens around her. A smile spread across his face as his tail flicked slowly; watching from behind his dull rainbow hued hair. "Good Evening Miss...We are simply passing through, on our way to the hills just north of here to catch a show near the mid of night." Dipping his head low in a most regal bow, pink hued eyes sneaking another peek at her. "I apologize if I have trespassed..."

Laughing lightly Vedis moved the final few steps to stand exactly opposite the stallion. She felt no bad energy from him and, he spoke in such a charming way. "Not at all..I always love having such kind guests..might I join you?" Smile still in place the mare looked up towards the heavens, sighing ever so softly. "The stars will be beautiful tonight..." Seeming to remember something he gaze quickly move back to the other, head bowing. "I am Vedis..a pleasure to meet you." It truly was. The female had few friends and only traveled away from home every once in a while for certain special supplies.

Oh! Well this was quite new. Usually the stallion had to make small talk to enjoy company for longer than a few moments but here was someone willing to come with him! "Well certainly!" Following her gaze up he too looked as one by one the stars came into focus; he gathered within the next hour they would fill the skies once again. "Beauty will not compare, I've heard word there will be a display of falling stars; something so breathtaking I couldn't miss. The moment will simply be all the more pleasurable in such splendid company." Rhys wasn't one for being alone, and although he always had the company of all the fireflies - he didn't turn down companionship. "Vedis, I am equally pleased. My name is Rhys. Shall we depart then?" He motioned his head to the north; waiting for a reply.

Falling stars! Excitement filled her, she had never before seen the stars fall towards the earth! Heating rising to her ears and face the mare nodded. "Yes lets go Rhys..you have quite the silver tongue." Smiling somewhat playfully Vedis hurried ahead of her new found companion, tail flicking teasingly. Laughter clearly dancing within her eyes. Yes it had been far too long since she'd had someone here. Tonight would be wonderful..Rhys seemed to be a charming male whom gave off a comforting..warm feel. "Hurry or we'll miss it!" Now she really did let her delicate laugh out, feet speeding the mare closer to their destination. Occasionally tossing a glance over one shoulder, to smile and playfully call out to him. To simply enjoy running through the trees, to feel the wind's soft caress through her mane.

Raising his brows he didn't expect her excitement, but this of course brought a wonderful smile on his face. There was something about other's happiness which made it all the more contagious; he enjoyed good feelings; sadness...despair, anger....such things unsettled him; and at times caused him to flee. Yet when the good times rolled, he was in cloud nine. "My tongue may be silver, but there is only truth behind the words." Which of course, was truth. Perhaps it was his jaded vision to see only beauty, but it was indeed his world. "Hey! Wait for me!" He laughed, picking up speed as he took off behind her. The trees and scenery whirled by, the wind in his mane as he chased after the femme left him slightly euphoric at the sensations of it all. Agility was in his blood thanks to the cerynei in him; his bounds allowing him to slowly catch up to her. When he saw her, her hair reminded him of the sea the way the wind caressed the locks; shaking his head before he finally pressed before her. "Catch me if you can!" He teased, before leaping over a fallen log - the hill top dead ahead.

Lungs burning in a terribly delicious manner Vedis laughed, breathlessly pumping her legs harder. The log slowed her down but, she managed to stay three strides behind Rhys. His bright color like a beacon in the darkness. "No..fair!" When at last the mares feet rested upon the hilltop's gentle slope she collapsed. Still grinning like a little filly, uncaring that she had become so winded. "Glorious..ah..it's been a few weeks since I've run so fast!" Again came the soft breathless little laugh, followed by a warm happy smile. Vedis wanted the night to go by slowly but, all good things had to end eventually. So there among the soft grass she re-settled into a more comfortable position. Eyes turning heavenwards for the second time that evening, her breath stolen for an entirely different reason. "Oh Rhys look!" There in the sky millions of stars twinkled..then a few moved! Actually moved across the sky in beautiful little arches of shimmering light.

As the incline took to a higher altitude the stallion slowed as Vedis had, laughing merrily as he kept on his hooves. Trotting around her as she laid on the ground he felt his heart pound, man had it been some time where he'd felt the burning in his lungs and legs? "All is fair in Love and war..." He mused, nodding his head. "I agree, I haven't ran in ages!" Looking down to where they came he could see the fireflies slowly flying their way after them; and being relieved about that fact he didn't lose them. When she told him to look, he did so blindly; turning his eyes up as he felt the breath leave him and a wild smile draw on his face. "Oh wow..." He Breathed, settling down on the grass beside her as he looked up. "Its amazing...don't you think Vedis? Oh! Look at those!" He said, turning his head to the right to see a group of them jet across the sky.

Relaxed her eyes brightened with each little streak of light, heart feeling so light. So giddy and happy. At his words she quickly turned to watch, smile widening. "Yes..it's the most beautiful thing I have ever seen Rhys..I'm happy we stumble upon one another." It would make for a much better memory..when you shared something so beautiful with another. "I wonder why they do not touch the earth?" She wondered so many other things but, only voiced one question. What it would be like to fly..to try and touch the heavens. Vedis found her mind lost..heart soaring to new heights..going through impossible dreams. "To touch the heavens...wouldn't it be wonderful?"

Beautiful indeed. Looking up to the skies he marveled at what he saw, so thankful he heard about them....and happened to be on route to what seemed to be such a pleasant soul. "I am as well Vedis. Beauty above, and beauty beside. I must be a lucky stallion!" He smiled kindly, it was evident he was not trying to be flirty, but he was a truthful male - and saw no harm in letting someone know they were beautiful. In his mind, perhaps if everyone was so open about positive thoughts and opinions there would be less sadness in the world! "I have never given it much thought...it seems they are falling beyond the mountains; perhaps they land in some distant land?" He knew of the lands beyond the mountains filled sand and scorching sun....but what of beyond that? And that? "Well...perhaps." He began, looking over thoughtfully. "The experience would be nice...but I wouldn't like to fly. My friends can't go that high so I prefer my hooves on the ground. I've tried to fly once, it was exhilarating!" He mused, remembering the time he met a crazy stallion filled with life.

Laughing, the mare gave him a playful swat with her tail. Though it was a bit short and wouldn't hurt she felt the need to do so. "Thank you...oh really?" Brows furrowing Vedis tried to picture the stallion trying to fly. "Oh yes..maybe.." She smiled once more, moving with a quiet sound back to her feet. To look more closely as just a few more stars fell..then it seemed to be over. It left an almost melancholy feeling within her chest, head lowering ever so slightly. All good things had to end but, Vedis wished this one could last a little longer. "If only everyone could feel so happy..maybe then the world would be less dreary."

"Quite...its a little...unorthodox, but after you do it - you feel like you've just flown." Of course, if was something not everyone did...but the stallion he had met had assured him it would all be fine in the end. "And by unorthodox...I mean jump off waterfalls." Musing he laughed, he could see her mood shift as the stars above stopped falling and remained stagnant in the sky. "The world is what we make of it....If we let all the disappointments, struggles, and sadness get us down; we reflect it onto our surroundings. That's why I try to see the good in everyone, the beauty in everything. Hopefully it'll reflect too."

Vedis smiled in agreement, a lingering sadness ever present as she moved about the hill. "That sounds fun..tell me..how long will you be in this area?" Part of the mare felt hopeful..hopeful that he would stay for a bit more. That maybe they could get to know one another better. It seemed almost crazy to feel this after just meeting the other. "I mean..if you needed a place to stay.."

Perking his ears his eyes followed to the mare, watching her frame under the moonlight. Seeing her in a way, with a barely audible tone of sadness...it almost broke his heart. Rhys was rather decent with picking up emotions....especially ones which were sad. He felt torn...he hadn't planned to stay; forever wandering, forever seeing new sights. Yet...as he could see her eyes in the moonlight; he didn't want to see any more sadness. "I.....for a while." He began, offering a smile. "I mean, I wouldn't want to intrude even for such a kind offer....but if you insist then of course it would be rude of me to decline such a nice offer of company and shelter." Although, when was the last time he had company for the evening, and such a invitation of safe haven, he couldn't remember...and it wouldn't kill him to stay for a while.
