The dragon's vines seemed to be making a bit of a messy web at the moment, making it a bit more difficult for him to get closer without disturbing any of those vines. It was a grating thing, to know that he was so close but that the dragon was making things difficult. Not to mention that it had used yet more of its spells to heal what damage his hit and run attacks had made to this point. There was a part of him that considered retreat, but he knew better. If he left the woods, especially after as much had passed, without both of his orbs, his mother wouldn't be too pleased with him, would she? Best that he continue to fight here it out with the dragon, hopefully he'd be lucky enough to finally see an opening that was worth exploiting. Until then, much to his distaste, he'd have to hang back and wait. Given the way that his mother had described them the Ysali seemed as though they would be a lot weaker, then again he was sure from her perspective that they were quite pathetic, huh? She could likely end them with but a look. She was strong like that after all. It was a strength that he wanted himself so he wasn't going to let what his mother described as cannon fodder to best him.
Sliding forward plucked one of the vines, drawing the dragon's attention before he moved around to a different vantage point, and gave a bit of a grin. Oh, so that was how it had to be done, huh? Alright, that was something he could do he thought to himself, moving slowly around, plucking vines here and there as he went, meaning to mess with the dragon's senses and maybe, if he was lucky, get it to leave the vine web that it had built for itself. He didn't want to risk entangling himself in it after all. He would rather get the dragon away from it if at all possible.

After messing with the vines enough it would see that he had gotten the Ysali riled up enough to charge toward him, snarling all the while, and Merikh was forced to move from behind the tree he was ducked behind, racing along away from the dragon. He weaved around trees, something that slowed it down, before he spotted just what he needed. Racing across an open area he heard the dragon charging after him, felt it's breath on his back, and he threw himself forward between two trees. The dragon was quick to do the same, effectively wedging itself between them due to the high rate of speed that it was traveling at. He gave a bit of a chuckle, turning around to face it, "There we go, finally got you." He said, his hold on his dagger tightening, before he lunged forward. He ducked under the snapping jaws, stabbing deep into one eye, then did the same thing to the other eye, each blow sinking in deep, not only destroying the eyes but sinking into the brain as well.
He was just pulling his hand back out of the dragon's eye when it started to crumble with that same strange sound. It was a sound he welcomed though as he trotted forward, scooping the dragon orb the moment that it fell. He gave it a once over, hands running across the surface, before he realized he had no clue where he was at the moment. It was a somewhat chilling feeling. How was he to find his way back to where his mother was? What about his other orb? What did he do now? His mind was racing... until he heard someone clearing their throat behind him.
"Merikh, come on, you seem to be done. How about we head home and show these orbs to your mom, hm?" The voice of his mother who seemed to have followed him the whole time, not having left him alone just allowed him to think that he was to push him, perhaps?
Instantly he was rushing over to her side, grinning up at her, "I can't wait to show them to her!" He was more then eager to show off his orbs to not only his mother but to his grandfather, he was the one that had given him the dagger after all. It was a hero's dagger, one that a man got when they served the Oblivionite people in battle for many years, proving himself as being nothing short of unstoppable. It was because he had the lucky weapon that he was able to finish off the dragons in the first place. It was something that he would never be able to thank the man enough for. His excitement caused Mellony to move at a faster pace then she normally might, knowing he wanted to get home quickly, wanting to show off, and she knew that he was very much in need of a bath as well. Best that he was able to do both.
