When one of the two Ysali started to circle around him Merikh realized that they were getting more serious. Before it was a lot of snapping, growling, and posturing on the part of the weakling dragons but now they seemed to have a plan in mind. It was something that made his heart beat just a little faster as he waited to find out what it was that they were going to do next. It was one of those times it would almost be nice to be able to understand the language of dragons but it was all grunts, growls, and gibberish to him. No matter, he'd just have to read their intent in the way that they were moving. One would never be able to know what was going on at all times in the minds of their enemies, as such that meant that you had to just be able to read them another way or so said his mother. Something that he believed completely. Though there were some where their intent was spoken clearly enough, like those stupid Orderite prisoners that were brought to the city, all of whom seem to go on and on about how their people as a whole would destroy the Oblivionites. Brave words that oft ended with a gurgle. He would just have to end the dragons in the same manner.
"You know this would be a lot easier if you would let me borrow your sword." Merkih said to his mother as he side stepped yet another set of jaws that were trying to chomp him in half. It was a statement that was met with the same chuckle that he normally go when he suggested such a thing.
The woman reached behind her back, removing her two handed great sword from there, swung it around, then planted it in the ground, "There you go, Merikh, if you can lift it then you can use it to fight off the Ysali." She said, a smile in her tone that had her boy give her a look, one eyebrow lifted. Both of them knew quite well that, as much as Merikh asked to borrow the sword, that he couldn't lift it. How Mellony could was beyond the understanding of the boy but he saw no reason to complain about it. If anything he would just keep trying... though best to do that when they were training at home. Right now was not the time to be trying to lift such a sword, not with two Ysali dragons breathing down his neck. They reminded him far too much of some of his teachers he thought to himself before he side stepped yet another attack.
"Fine, I get it, but I really should be getting a weapon of my own you know. It would make hunting dragons more interesting. I would rather not risk my dagger." Not when his grandfather had entrusted him with it. He'd rather beat the dragons to death with his bare hands or a rock... well, were it not for the fact that only a barbarian would do such a thing and that was far from what he was. Dodging a few more times, giving a snarl when he got splattered with a bit of dragon drool, he said, "Can you at least think about it, Mother?" He wanted a real weapon, and soon, it was a rite of passage, one that he wanted to be a part of. His free hand flexed for a moment as though thinking about how much fun a weapon could be before his attention was once more on the dragons. As much as he wanted a weapons it was best that he concentrate on the issues at hand, that being these dragons and his need to end them.
